Wonderful hotel beautiful coastal scenery.
Unfortunately we only stayed one night as off to the ferry the next day but will return next year and stay for a eeek to fully explore walk the coastal routes.

Large room and a big bed - a bit hard by our standards, but we’d just come off the ferry, suffering a bit from their bunks.... Everything is spotless here!
Everything you could hope for - we were there for a night only, but loads of wardrobe space and maybe 8-10 hangers. Huge, reasonably-priced tapas bar over the road, gas station next door, restaurant below, and a good-sized supermarket too. And Carrefour nearby. Bus to Santander if you’re not driving.
Friendly staff -happy to speak English, but happier if you have a go in Spanglish first. We paid 46Euro and ate breakfast (bought from the supermarket) on the beach before heading off on our journey. We’ll do it again if we have ferry arriving late.

The staff in the hotel were very helpful and pointed out to us places to visit in the area.
Parking was good and a restaurant and bar on site. The hotel was easy to locate.

Ferry docked too late to drive on. Hotel was easy to find on satnav. I enjoyed my night there with easy connection onto A67. I will stay here again. Had good food in the bar/cafeteria. Well satisfied.

Outside appearance not particularly attractive but welcoming staff who had suggestions for places of interest for us to visit and to use no 2 bus (which runs on a loop). Also recommended the nearby Sports bar which turned out to be a great place for a drink or snack amongst local families and was very enjoyable. Plenty of parking.

Outside was slightly disappointing but excellent inside with well fitted rooms. Very large and comfortable. Staff very helpful. We ate in sports pub about two mins walk away. Food fine and reasonable price.

Overall a good price for the night and very convenient having just got off the ferry.

Convenient for Santander Ferry Terminal

We booked this hotel for the proximity (15mins) to Ferry terminal. There was ample parking at the hotel.
It is a little isolated (there are couple of bars/restaurants within walking distance)but convenient for bus into Santander. It is however a good base for exploring surrounding towns and beaches. Staff were great.

Great hotel away from the city

We spent two nights at the hotel, and have nothing but good things to say. We arrived to Santander from San Sebastián by bus, and because this hotel is in the next town along the coast we wanted to make sure we could get to the hotel from the bus station and also from the hotel in to Santander. After an e-mail and quick response we decided to stay at La Roca. It is very easy to catch a bus in to town
Our room was much bigger than an average hotel room and it looked like it was newly renovated. The staff was very friendly and gave us advice on what to see and eat in the area. We can recommend the Italian restaurant a few hundred meters past the hotel and the sports bar. We have actually booked one more night at La Roca at the end of our vacation.

We first had a problem. Finding the hotel, after the satnav coordinate took us 5 kilometres. Away... Then after approaching a lady outside her house in the dark for directions.. The most incredible. Act of kindness. And truly something. That we can't thank enough.. Her husband took us all the way as we followed. In our car.. We arrived. To find a wonderful. Place to stay.. Every thing about this place is excellent.. The staff are so helpful.. If they had charged 3 times the price. It would have been. Good value.. Well done and if this couple ever read this.. Stayed for a couple of nights after arriving in Santander.
Receptionist was very helpful and suggested somewhere to eat within walking distance as only a very dark looking restaurant/bar in building in front of the hotel.
Nothing much around the hotel but within a few minutes in the car were lovely little coves for walking.
Bedroom itself was spacious and modern with lovely large bathroom. Beautifully done! Only real negative was a lack of a kettle in the room so we went and bought one in nearby supermarket. Would definitely use again

Can't rate the hotel - we'd made a mistake in our booking and arrived on the wrong day, & they were full. But they went to extraordinary lengths to find us a suitable alternative, in the same area, reasonably priced. But will try this one next time we need a hotel near Sandander ferry - it looked very special, spacious, marble everywhere - and full of Vuelta cyclists.

Lovely hotel convenient for the ferry

We used this hotel as a cheap stop over after getting off the ferry from England, before continuing our journey to benicarlo. The quality of service and condition of the hotel did not reflect the price, it was worth far more than we were charged for our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel, before we checked out we rebooked for an overnight stay before our return ferry so we could board the ferry clean and relaxed before the long journey

Very pleased with the room initially but one of the beds had coffee stained sheets, otherwise the room was very clean. The bathroom was very good, nice and clean with a very good shower. The room needs air conditioning as it is noisy with the window open and to keep the light out the shutters have to be fully closed as there are bright lights outside the window.The staff were polite and friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good but the English version of the menu was hard to understand (a problem with translation?)

Tucked away and simple but very good value. Bed was comfortable and bathroom better than i expected for the price. We were staying just for a night as a family of four on our way through Spain and staying at this small hotel worked very well. The only small challenge was finding it late at night as my GPS was showing streets that don't seem to exist anymore.

Great place, and Great staff.

The hotel is a little bit away from the centre of the city, about a 20 minute ride by bus, luckily the local commuter bus (couple mins walk away) comes by very frequently and we didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes for one over 10 days.
There is positives to living a little bit further, the area is more relaxed and quiet (25mins walk from a beach) and we even walked it into the city numerous days (40mins approx).
The hotel staff were excellent and although they didn't all speak English they were all very welcoming and helpful.
A few stood out as being particularly helpful teaching us some spanish and giving us some hints in places to go in the city.
Would definitely recommend Chateau La Roca to any friend going to Santander.

Uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen.
Die Freundlichkeit des Personals, sowie das Hinweisen auf die Handtücher, das Restaurant im Haus und noch ein Top-Supermarkt. Die Zimmer waren hervorragend und sehr sauber, und auch sehr schick. Das Badezimmer bestach durch eine super Dusche und auch noch einem Bidet. Findet man so nicht oft. Das Hotel hat einen weiteren Stern verdient!

Bon hôtel, bien situé mais le problème était l’insonorisation. Tout les matins (tôt) on entendait les portes et les placards claqués par le personnel du ménage. Difficile de se reposer dans ses consistions.
Sinon la literie était excellente et la chambre très spacieuse.
Très grand parking : aucune difficulté pour se garer.
Personnel aimable, un peu amateur (des jeunes qui débutent) mais très disponible et agréable.

El hotel está francamente bien para su categoría de tres estrellas. La habitación es bastante grande y el baño también. Fui a una boda celebrada el 31 de Agosto en las cercanías, y el precio fue desorbitado para el lugar y categoría de tres estrellas del hotel. Supongo que la fecha, Agosto y sábado, habrá hecho casi duplicar el precio habitual. Resumiendo, merece la pena en un precio lógico. La verdad, es que aproveché el programa de 1 noche gratis, y el costo fue ridículo, pero el precio esa noche era de 90 €.
