There was a musty smell in the room. Also I received TWO different knocks on the door in the middle of the night. The first asked me to move my car, as I was parked over the line. The second was the police investigating a disturbance with people yelling. I was terrified the rest of the night and could not sleep.

I’m not a critical person, however, the thread bare, mismatchedtowels in the bathroom have seen better days. In fact, I’ve discarded towels in much better condition. The mismatched, loose container of hand soap, body soap and conditioner was something you might say in a shelter versus a hotel.

On the plus side, the sheets were clean, the beds were comfortable, and in general, the place looked clean. Charging a dollar for a small bag of ice in the office seemed a little odd. The lock on the door seemed very flimsy. The office staff seem nice. You get what you pay for. It was close to where I needed to be, which is the only reason I booked here.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Not only were they affordable, but they were also able to accommodate my entire family of six comfortably! The best thing of all, is that it's also right across the street from the beach! My family and I are already talking about plans of coming back next year to vacation.

Online photos deceptive

The pictures are incredibly deceptive. We thought this was going to be a cute retro motel with recent updates. We arrived and there was debris and trash in the front. Tried to give it a chance and still checked in. Clearly out dated and run down. Got to the room and the walls were dirty, everything felt unclean. There was a couple fighting next door. We decided we could not stay there as it felt unsafe. We told the clerk we felt unsafe and decided to go home. She was kind and told us it was safe and did offer another room but it was clear to us that was not the issue. There is no way we would have actually slept. We ended up driving home (tons of traffic, totally exhausting) and cutting our trip short. When hotels.com called to get us a refund, the hotel refused. Do not book. I’ve stayed in plenty of cheap hotels and have never felt like I had to leave.

From check in until check out, I was nervous about the other \"guests\". Welfare/ homeless housing???? No coffee available in rooms OR office until after 8am. Ceilings falling in bathroom AND soap/ shampoo provided was less than desirable. Had 2 elderly women sitting outside rooms with many luggage bags from 4pm OVERNIGHT. I left at 745am, they were still there. Staffing argued with them multiple times and it was LOUD. Photos wouldn't load.

The sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom floor was slick and the plumbing was LOUD! They provided a box fan to help the A/C that didn’t work even though it was set at 62! The family room had a small kitchenette, refrigerator and microwave.

This property had a lot of potential but ended up feeling more like an early season Schitt’s Creek motel than the listing suggested. The room was not as advertised, and the floor slanted noticeably. The shower pressure was so forceful it sprayed everywhere, and the curtain couldn’t contain it. To make matters worse, the water drained slowly. The window AC unit didn’t work, leaving the room uncomfortable, and the EV chargers were also out of order.

Overall, it was a frustrating stay. With some attention to maintenance and honesty in advertising, this place could improve, but as it stands, we would not return.

Very remote location if you are going there for the proclaimed Beach Access, know it’s not a beach for the hotel guests, it’s a private beach for the Oyster Bay residents and you will just sleekly walk into the sandy dunes to just sit next to the life guards! The hotel needs tons of repairs and maintenance no service was provided to my room! For the entire 7 days stay stay and rooms has no coffee machine, plenty or ants and crawling creatures roamed around.

We stayed here the night before swim across America in Glen Cove. Although check in person was very pleasant the check in office was a bit off putting with plexiglass covering all but a small opening and covered in papers. The room on the second floor was clean but desperately needed updating. There was a large patch on the bathroom door as if someone had punched it. We were very put off by the man in a room we passed with his door wide open in his underwear on his bed. Very odd. There was an overall feeling of needing to keep our door locked and blocked. Not sure if this a long stay other type of motel but the pictures of this motel were not accurate.

Invest in this property. This was a resort town at one time and attracted many vacationing families. This is not a place to vacation today but it was my only choice since I was visiting family in the area. If it was like it was in its heyday you can make serious money. Thanks

The location was what sold this hotel for me. Didnt bother with the pool, but the beach only has swimming when lifeguards are present. The rooms are in the process of updates but the floor in my room was uneven and the door was very tricky to lock/unlock/open. The a.c. units are window units so their efficiency is as expected. Bring your own shampoo and it wouldnt hurt to pack an extra towel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is good for the beach, food, and mini golf right next door.

It was unique and convenient, if not looking a little like a character in a scary movide. The room itself was clean, but not serviced at all unless requested. The windows and doors were covered with dark fabric, and the AC was usable, but needed help. The exterior had a lot of construction or similar debris. The staff is a bit hard to contact and policies and costs were not clear in advance (they charge for each guest to use the pool each time), and there is not trash removal or clean up unless contacted. It is right near the beach and other attractions. That, and curiosity about an odd little place, might make it a place some would find interesting for a stay

Be careful when staying there. There was a roach in the bathroom. The lights kept flickering as if there was going to be a blackout. The Air conditioner wasn’t cold as it should be for a summer day. They charged $5 cash to upgrade the room to a king bed and still processed it on the internet when it was booked for a full-size. Very shady business practice.

Staff was pleasant and helpful, but not the best at listening the first time. There are a few good restaurants in walking distance, with only a short drive to convenience stores. The pool is open 24 hours, but is not lit up well. Using the pool at nighttime all to ourselves was wonderful, but being lit up better would be nice. Beware that the photos show the front office and reception building rather than a view of the rooms, and we were not aware it was a motel until arrival. The power strips and TV were also a toss up on if they were working. Recommended on a budget, and nothing
that would make me advise avoiding it, but nothing special.

Beds were comfortable and clean. It looks like they are trying too fix up the place. Dresser draws were full of comforters so you couldn’t but things in them. Had a kitchenette but didn’t use it. No silverware, only a butter knife stuck to a mouse trap tape.bathroom light flickered and shower stall was dark.
It was an experience with very comfortable beds.

run down with some very low budget \"improvements\", like abandoned wall ac replaced with a tiny, leaky window unit. Holes is dresser from previously bolted down tv's, high step into shower tripping hazard (and dark), Quilted blankets hung on window and all around the room (for \"soundproofing\" I was told, fire hazard I think)
Only positive notes amazing location across from beach, reasonably clean bathrooms but funky carpet and bedcovers. Owner is a friendly guy.

This was surprisingly a nice a comfortable place to spend the night. Felt like home. Nice people at the front desk. They charge only $10 for a 2pm late checkout option which is paid at the front desk (pay the night before) also if I’m not mistaken, you can upgrade your room for one with a stove for $20 a night. The kitchen upgrade option is cheaper in person than selecting on Expedia. The only issue might be availability.

Never go to this hotel, the conditions were beyond horrible. I had went there late at night to check in and it was super sketchy and felt very unsafe. The main lobby was super messy things all over the place. They first gave us a room, which was soo bad. It smelled horrible, and there was some issue with electricity the light would fully go off and so would the A.C. Then I has called them again to get us a better room and I had gone to the lobby once again. It was so unprofessional, they had handed me a wire to fix the air conditioner myself in the new room. We went to that room and again the air conditioner was not working, the room was super dirty, and the smell was unbearable. I had to leave an hour after i checked in. Never book this hotel, horrible condition, horrible service!

This is a cute little place. I imagine that, years ago, this beachfront motel was a great place to stay, just because there was probably a lot of fun stuff around to do back then. I still absolutely enjoyed my stay though, because the staff was wonderful, and the rooms we're clean and quite nice for the age of the motel. I'd probably consider going here again, just to check out the haunted house next door in October.

Huge List of inconveniences and problems:
Flickering lights, both in main room and by the basin.
All outlets keep having power surges.
TV did not have any working channels.
Wifi was awful, less than 8kb/s average.
Got stuck in the bathroom for an hour because the door handle was broken it just turned.

Okay, it was a funny little beach side motor inn. The lobby is a small room packed with snacks. The owners were funny and nice. To me it was just as good as any luxury hotel, a comfortable place to sleep and shower. There are little shops and restaurants and a grocery store in walking distance, and the beach is across the street.

Nice budget motel in a beautiful location

It's a cheap motel, as it looks like. Feel free to ignore the bad reviews. There were no bedbugs, the place was sparkling clean, and the proprietor was very friendly. The soundproofing pads covering the windows and doors were a bit offputting - it would have been nice to have natural light in the room, and they were not exactly effective given the amount of noise we heard from other customers - but you can't win 'em all. And the location is perfect, it's right next to a beach with a view across the Sound! Inconvenient if you want access to the city, but very nice if you just want to hang out with your SO and enjoy the scenery.

You get what you pay for! This was the least expensive Motel in the region.
There were moving blankets in place of drapes on the window, also on the door. I'm guessing to reduce the outside noise. No thermostat for climate control. No light in the shower. Paper thin walls. The lamp shade was coming off the frame. Standard home air conditioner in the window.

My friend and I stayed at the Tides Motor Inn so that we could attend the Halloween Screamfest at the Bayville Amusement Park next door. The close proximity to the Park made it convenient. I've been to this place with family many times in the past, for years. Its not a 5 star hotel or fancy place with lots of luxury amenities. They are however located across the street from the beach, in a pretty quiet small ton in Long Island. Its walking distance to a supermarket, and there are a few restaurants in close proximity for you to eat at. Of course the main attraction is the Adventure Park next door,and the beach across the street..They also have a decent pool opened from June to September. The rooms have all been upgraded from when we first went a few years ago. The carpet has been removed, the TVs, furniture, and bedding upgraded..The rooms werent spe fancy but very clean and nice.

The building and its upkeep are deplorable. The rooms are falling apart, it was full of mold, bugs and dirt the is ground in which adds to a smell similar to dirty feet. The condition of the room left me sleeping in my car over night. When I re-entered the room to use the toilet the bug infestation reminded me of the days I camped in tents while back packing. The towels were thread bear, I can only compare them to Dollar General discount paper towels, those paper towels are more absorbent and have a softer feel on the skin. Never stay at this hell hole. Yes I slept with my “protection” next to me. I never stayed the second night on the grounds or in the room. I slayed the second night, paying again, at a separate hotel.

Didn’t like the characters living there and hanging out. Dirty room, flickering lights. We checked in and paid, went to the room and then left and never went back. We didn’t even feel safe leaving our car parked overnight. Stay away! We lost $174 rather than sleep there.
