The shower screen was not sealed properly and water was trickling down by the wall underneath the sink making a puddle in which I slipped. This is a safety hazard and makes it look unclean. The wooden furniture , doorframe etc showed signs of aging.

Fabulous little gem of a hotel in the middle of town. You can pretty much walk anywhere. The wine festival was just around the corner. Impressive buffet breakfast with a wide variety of options and a perfect espresso. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. We will be back!

The hotel is ok and it should be qualified as a 3* . Good location , clean and just in need of a refurbish like carpets, etc.. I had two issues during my stay. The first one is that the two teenager girls at the reception were unpleasant and pretentious, thus ruining the rest of the stay. Also, they claimed the hotel was full and even that I booked a long time ago and arrived early, I was given a bad room that was suitable for a person with disability. The shower was terrible and there was water all over after a shower. It looked like a hospital bathroom. But again, I would have looked to this differently if wasn't for the terrible reception (not even a good afternoon !!! Come on)

Had a spillage during check in process and was offered no help at all, other than handing me a roll of paper towels to mop up the floor. Room not particularly clean. Main door had tendancy to not lock shut unless pulled hard - a bit of a worry if cleaning staff just let the door close behind them ( might not be locked). Food average at best. Very little english language tv. Luckily only there two nights, and no chance I'd ever book again.

We loved Szeged and would definitely stay again.

We loved the location. We were able to easily walk to sites and many great restaurants. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was hot but the front desk was able to turn off the unit in the room and we opened the window. The only knock was that a couple of our towels were stained.

The perfect hotel for us in Szeged

Such a lovely hotel, we've been back for the third time and everything is perfect as usual. Staff is friendly and kind, the rooms are perfect, we usually get one with a larger balcony. The breakfast was very well prepared and kept replenished frequently. We were even late once for breakfast but the staff still accomodated us. The location is perfect and very central in Szeged. Highly recommended!

The location was good for walking the city. The parking garage was very nice although we paid extra to park in the garage. The shower had great pressure and hot water. The beds were fair, but not great. The A/C. could not cool the room in the summer heat making for an uncomfortable night of sleep. The. breakfast was fair, but the eggs were disgusting.

I booked a 2 bedroom suite for my mom and my brother. The booking was guaranteed according to Hotels.com. Despite of this, they were checked in to an adjacent room type of accommodation with no kitchen and no living area. They were not warned at check in, they just faced with the situation when they entered the room. They went to complain to the receptionist, and after a brief conversation they were compensated with free breakfast, free parking and were placed in a smaller 1 bedroom suite and a regular room. Since my mom is over 80 and needed help, it was not the best situation, but was doable.
I would give better ratings for the hotel, if their communication were clear and they told them, that “We are so sorry, but we made a mistake and we gave your room for someone else, but we compensate you with these and these.” The question is still there, how can this happen, but less disappointing.
The hotel was nice and clean, location was perfect (walking distance from the hospital where my mom had to go) for them, the parking was convenient and the breakfast was good.
Please, improve your communication, and we will be happier next time.

The hotel location was very central
The room was well furnished and also clean and tidy
The front desk staff were very polite and helpful

Negatives:
The Art Hotel Szeged was definitely not of 4 star standard
The room didn’t have a refrigerator
The television service in the room – no streaming services were included and the only English language channels were news channels
The hotel restaurant food was substandard
The hotel restaurant menu was quite limited in choice
The hotel restaurant staff acted like they couldn’t be bothered.

Conclusion:
There are many hotels within a 10 minute walk of the Szeged centre which are much cheaper – they are 3 star hotels but are no different to the Art Hotel in the level of service and comfort they offer.
I would not recommend Szeged Art Hotel for a stay if you are expecting 4 star service and facilities as this is not delivered by this establishment.
I would suggest finding an alternative hotel – Szeged is not a large place so it is easy to find alternative stays within walking distance of the centre.

Very close to Dom square; hence, everything is in walking distance. Malata - a pub and restaurant - is opposite the street. Had a good sleep but the curtains are not wide enough, you may have problems with the light while sleeping.
Breakfast is ordinary, nothing special, this is the weakest of the hotel. Didn’t try the wellness.

Outstanding service. The hotel and the rooms are beautiful, modern , cosy and spotless clean. I have my little dog with me and the are extremly pet friendly. The hotel prepared a welcome package for my dog, with a bed, plates for food, treats. I have never experienced this in all over the World. Well done Art Hotel!

I've been at the Art Hotel in Szeged a few times. Usually, the service and cleanliness are at a high level but this time around it all felt a little underwhelming. The room was only serviced properly on the first day and little attention was paid for the next few days. Definitely felt more like a 3 star than 4.

The hotel is at great location, but overall, our stay didn’t leave such an amazing impression. First, it is a 4 star hotel and breakfast is not included in the price, hotel guests have to pay the parking and you have to pay for the vanity kit in the bathroom, which for this type of hotel should be included in every bathroom. The room was clean but not vaccumed, so there was dust and dirth on the floor. Our room was on the first floor and every morning around 6, the smell from the kitchen would wake us up. The room would smell like kitchen during breakfast and dinner hours. It is a nice hotel, but it needs finess to be a really good hotel. They need to think more about the details.

Okay, just to be clear, I didn't technically stay here. I missed the last train from Budapest to Szeged and was not able to make it to this hotel the night I had it booked. It was technically too late to cancel, but my company was supposed to pay so I wasn't too upset. I went to Szeged the following day and visited the hotel to get an invoice, and they completely let me off the hook. No show, no charge. Let me be clear though. I do not recommend you book this place and simply not show. With great power comes great responsibility. However, if you happen to miss the last train to Szeged, these guys might be nice enough to let you off the hook as they did me.

Loved Art hotel!

I loved the Art Hotel, it was so modern and beautiful. The staff was helpful, the room was very clean.
It was close by some restaurants and bars (5 minutes walk). I would definitely stay again.
The breakfast could have more options... but it was pretty good.

- Beds too small, I'd rather have a king/queen bed rather than 2 small narrow beds
- Need a clock in the room
- Shower head was bad, there was a plaster around the base. I see it was Grohe branded, but it needed replacement
- I tend to like shampoo, conditioner bottles rather than a wall-mounted all-in-one. This too was wobbly.
- There was no tissue box in the room.
- There were no bath towels in the fitness centre. Using a hand-towel after the jacuzzi was eh!

I had an excellent stay at Art Hotel. The hotel was quite empty while I was there, likely due to it being a non-tourist season, and I received an upgrade to a balcony room. After using the spa/fitness center facilities, it was great to cool down outside on the balcony. Also, the room had one of the largest bathtubs I've seen in a hotel. It could easily accommodate two people, so good for a romantic trip.

The service at the hotel was good, and I received a couple helpful recommendations from the staff. The location was also excellent, not far from the train station, and only a 3 minute walk from the Cathedral, which is an impressive building.

modern hotel perfect for a trip

the hotel is new and modern in design. the rooms are spacious with good lighting to create ambiance. the complimentry water was nice, so was the bathrobe but slippers would have been appreciated especially considering there was an outside terrace. my room was quite hot and I could not seem to get it to a cool enough temperature but having a terrace door I was able to open it for air.
breakfast was just okay, the hot options were cold and not replenished (sometimes not appealing) but plenty of other options, breads, pastries and cheese and cereals so you won't go hungry.
overall great hotel I would stay again, great location and friendly staff.
