This is a very nice hotel with amazing views! I had a cozy & clean room with a comfortable bed, a balcony with chairs and table to enjoy the alpine air and panorama of the Alps, a small but modern bathroom with a walk in shower and a filling breakfast in the morning in a Bavarian style spacious room with tall windows, providing more views. Outside there is a terrace and the restaurant was also very good. A wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful property that has been run by the same family for years. Although the building is old, everything has been updated and worked well! The views are breathtaking. Parking is free and easily accessible. We were on the 3rd floor and the only drawback was getting the luggage up the stairs as there is no elevator. Breakfast was delightful. I would stay here again.

The location of this property was very cool. We loved waking up to cow bells and watching the cattle roam.
There wasn’t anyone on location to greet guests and everyone we encountered was confused. It would’ve been nice to have someone to ask questions of. Also, the property advertises their restaurant, patio area and entertainment but all were missing the 2 days we were there. Very disappointing.

Fantastic views of the town and the mountains but that means that you are a steep walk from the town, transport and restaurants. A car is necessary. We got an expensive shock when we checked out. When we were checked in, we were shown the breakfast room but were not told that we would be charged for breakfast. So we assumed it was part of the tariff. Expedia booking didn’t say anything about breakfast. This added another €90 for 3 night stay. At that price, we would have grabbed a roll and coffee on our way touring.

We loved the location of the hotel, but 3 out of 5 nights they had private parties going on, which caused problems with parking and eating at the restaurant as they closed early. The noise level during the functions was quite loud and lasted way past 10:00 p.m.

A fantastic stop on our trip through Germany

Like another reviewer mentioned we entered the address into our rental car GPS which took us to a point behind the Taj Mahal Restaurant which is not up on a hill with a view. Google maps was able to direct us to the additional 4km to hotel by clicking the directions link in the hotels.com app on our phone.

We had called to arrange late check in, and arrived to find a welcoming note on the door (ground level, right side, facing uphill towards the parking lot) and clear instructions in English to access our room. The room was comfortable and the view from our balcony at night and in the day was amazing. The buffet breakfast was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the cappuccino and view from the dining room to start the day.

No View Family Room - No Service

Arrived during the 2 hour registration check-in window and no one was there. Keys for our room (and others) were left in a box outside with a note. Room did not have a view as indicated. See the photo taken from the window. Tried calling the property a number of times and never could get through. Emails we sent were not responded to. We checked out after the first night of a two night reservation, by leaving our key as we found it with a note of our complaint as well as email requesting a refund for the second night. Have requested a refund through Hotels.com as the property has still not responded after almost 2 weeks..

Overcharged on my credit card

The hotel is very nice and clean and the view is amazing. However, they do not know how to properly charge a credit card. I reserved two rooms in my name, one for me and one for my friends. Upon checkout, I paid for my room and they paid for theirs. When I later checked my card they had charged me 3 nights worth. Two of the amounts were the same amount so I think they pre-authorized on my card for both rooms and then they also charged the final amount for my room to my card (after the tax). The problem is that these "pre-authorized" amounts went through and were fully charged instead of showing up as pending and then dropping off. It's been almost 2 weeks since I stayed there and they promised me they would take care of it....I'm still waiting, so I had to file a dispute with my bank. I feel I was patient and everyone makes mistakes, but if it takes this long and you haven't rectified the situation then I feel I need to write a review to warn others.

What an amazing surprise! Our GPS got a little confused and took us to the Taj Mahal restaurant, but then we realized the hotel was up behind it on the mountain, and there was a small road back there. We accidentally drove up that (we're pretty sure it's for pedestrians only) but there IS another proper road you can take. Just keep going up!
There was a lovely note on the door for us with instructions and keys since we arrived late. We forgot everything immediately, though, as soon as we saw the views. You can see the Alps, the villages below, and it is absolutely amazing. There's a beautiful beer garden patio out back, but you can also see the view from your little balcony off your room! The room itself was very nice. It's rustic and homey. The bathroom was new and upgraded and very nice!
We were so overwhelmed with the views that nothing else mattered. It was a really pleasant stay.

We like the location with panoramic German alps view. The check in service was tight 2-6pm. We didn't really notice until we're in Germany and forgot to check the specifics of check in time. We got worried that nobody will be there and that we'll lose our stay and we had to find another hotel. We arrived with no one in the hotel except asked around other guest who was hanging out in the balcony. We find the note outside the door about our key and direction to find our room. No coffee in the room and the hotel service opens at 8 or 9am but we left as early as 7am without no one in the hotel and again no coffee. It would have been nice to have coffee in the room and have a reminder thru email that we if arrive late that we'll find info outside door of the hotel.

A charming, rustic hotel with the best view of the Alps you can imagine. The view is worth the hotel price. Not for handicapped people as there is no elevator and you must navigate a spiral staircase with luggage. But the rooms and baths have been renovated, are comfortable and modern. A nice breakfast which costs $8.50 (a reasonable price) is provided in a large seating area. No restaurant on site for dinner but there is a large and lovely terrace with tables off of the bar which looks out over the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay here. Free parking and close to a cable car that takes you very high up one of the mountains for a spectacular view. Very helpful host that assisted us with electrical adapters.

Great hotel at a good price!

This was a great hotel to stay at. Very clean, super friendly staff, and a good breakfast. Just a heads up, the hotel is up on top of a hill overlooking the city, which made for a beautiful view from the room but it is a long walk up if you don’t have transportation and out of shape. We did the walk everyday into the city and it was a nice relaxing walk. The lobby hours are a bit short and we got there after they closed but they left the keys outside in a box for us. Overall, it was a great stay!

Great place to spend some time in Garmish:nestled on the mountainside, right on the trails, spectacular views of the village and surrounding snow peaks.
Great staff, the owner Andrea is a sweetheart, she'll go out of her way to make you feel at home. She even cooks breakfast for everyone!
Decoration is very cheerful, in the purest alpine tradition.

Unfortunately, we did NOT get a room with a balcony as advertised. Apparently the hotel was full and we were advised that we would be put in the "annex". When this confirmation and comment was received before we went, they should have advised us that the annex room had no view, no balcony and had an old fashioned bathroom. We would have changed to another hotel for sure. Instead, we overlooked the garbage area and trailer storage area. This was most upsetting and very unprofessional. The owner refused to consider any sort of a discount. There was no dining room that evening or even anyone to give you ice for a drink! I would not recommend this hotel in spite of a nice view just outside Garmish.

Good value with a gorgeous view

A cozy little hotel with basic amenities. It's on a hill adjoining town, so you're close to everything but enjoy the quiet and serene setting. Each room has a balcony and the views are gorgeous. Bed was comfortable. My daughter and I enjoyed starting each morning leisurely with a visit to cows in a nearby field. We wish we'd stayed longer.

Beautiful hotel and stunning views with very friendly staff. Large & extremely clean rooms; Excellent breakfast and loved the honesty fridge. Lovely lunch time food, just disappointed the restaurant was not open in the evening - but that's only because we had small children with us - there are loads of fantastic restaurants within a 5 minute drive. A little tricky to find but that was probably my inexperience with hire car sat nav. Perfect for a long weekend ski trip.

Schöne Aussicht, rest hat noch Luft nach oben

Das gebuchte Dreibett Zimmer mit 24qm konnten wir nicht beziehen, war schon vergeben. Auf nachfrage war die Chefin eher genervt und schob den angeblichen Fehler auf Hotel.com. Statt dessen bekamen wir ein Mini Zimmer mit 12 qm. Bezahlen durften wir aber das grosse. Morgens waren wir um 9.00 Uhr wohl die letzten am Frühstück, Wurstmäsig waren nur noch 5 Scheiben Kochschinken da und nachfüllen für 2 Personen war eher nicht im Sinne. Das es mehr Auswahl gab sahen wir bei den anderen Gästen, aber wir hatten ja noch eigene Salami und Schinken von unseren Touren dabei und mussten nicht wieder in die Diskussion gehen.

Meine Eltern und ich haben eine Reise auf der deutschen Alpenstraße unternommen. Diese Unterkunft war die letzte unserer Reise. Die Anfahrt zum Hotel ist vielleicht etwas steil, damit sollte man in den Bergen und einem Berggasthof jedoch rechnen. Die Aussicht ist dafür auf die Berge und ins Tal wunderbar.

Unser Zimmer war gemütlich und die Betten waren sehr bequem, das Bad war modern eingerichtet und wirkte neu renoviert.

Beim leckeren Frühstück hatte man wieder den tollen Blick auf die Berge. Es war alles da, was das Herz begehrt. Das Rührei wird frisch zubereitet und war schön angerichtet und mit frischem Schnittlauch von der Terrasse dekoriert.

Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Schöne Aussicht, sauber, gute Lage für Wanderungen

Sehr schönes kleines Hotel. Die Lage ist toll: schöne Aussicht über Garmisch, guter Startpunkt für Wanderungen und in die Stadt kommt man auch gut zu Fuß.
Das Zimmer war sauber, mit bequemem Bett und kleinem Balkon.
Das Frühstück kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich nicht gefrühstückt habe.

Gutes Hotel mit perfektem Panorama

Gutes Hotel in wunderschöner Lage mit Blick auf die Zugspitze. Wir hatten ein großes und gut ausgestattetes Familienzimmer. Das Frühstück war großzügig und frisch, die Mitarbeiter alle sehr freundlich. Es gab genügend Parkplätze vor dem Hotel und man kann in der Umgebung hervorragend spazieren oder wandern.

Leuke plek voor het hotel. Zeer mooi uitzicht. Rustige omgeving met loslopende kippen en een haan.
De kamer is wel klein en gehorig. Let op, er is geen airco aanwezig. S nachts koelt het gelukkig goed af. Met de ramen open wel voldoende verkoeling echter ook veel insecten die naar binnen gaan.

Fantastisk utsikt och fräscht!

Makalöst fin utsikt från rum med balkong!! En bra bit från centrum så kanske inget för er utan bil. Nyrenoverade fina rum och rymligt. Lite skumt att balkongdörren inte gick att låsa inifrån. Frukosten var bra men dyr i förhållande till vad man får. Lite konstigt incheckningsprocedur med en lapp på ytterdörren som talade om vart nyckeln till rummet fanns...

Incredible view. Very complete room.

The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was newly renoviert. The view is amazing. Breakfast was very complete. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to get in touch with someone from the hotel for a request.

Lage des Hotels sehr schön und ruhig, dabei relativ einsam gelegen - man kann vom Zentrum Partenkirchens einen relativ steilen, aber auch nachts beleuchteten Fußweg gehen (Dauer von Partenkirchen ca.15 Minuten) - Anfahrt mit dem Auto problemlos.
Zimmer ordentlich mit schöner Aussicht, modernes Bad, Frühstück o.k.
Preis-Leistungsverhältnis jedoch auch für Garmischer Verhältnisse deutlich zu hoch.

Sehr nette Wirtsleute. Hotel an sich sehr rustikal. Unser Zimmer war mit Zustellbett sehr beengt. Familienzimmer ist mit Kind bestimmt besser geeignet.
