The place we stayed would have been more than satisfactory except for the fact that the listing failed to mention how difficult it would be to get in and out of the property. The entire street where the property is located was closed due to construction. Our taxi had to drop us off at the end of the street and we had to drag our luggage down a temporary path to the property. Also, each morning, one side of the street was closed off due to additional construction, so we had to exit the street via the opposite direction and then walk around the block to get to where we originally wanted to go. Finally, our room was in the basement, with only an extremely narrow staircase to access it. We had difficulty moving our bags downstairs then back up again. I wish the property manager had disclosed the construction situation. This would have affected our decision on whether to book the property. Which we would not have.

The location relative to the museums and park were great. There was a bike rental a block away and access to trains around the corner. The actual apartment was clean. The laundry doesn’t have a dryer. You can hear the neighbors walking around and stomping upstairs so if you’re sensitive to noise like me it’s an issue. Additionally, the road was under construction and fenced off. So no car traffic access. However, there wasn’t any noise as there wasn’t anyone actually working. Key card access was simple but there isn’t any other way to securely lock the unit door like a deadbolt or at least a chain. But that could just be the inner city Stateside mindset of me. Overall a pleasant Amsterdam experience.

We really enjoyed our stay here overall. The location was absolutely fantastic and within walking distance to some of the famous sites, which made exploring very convenient. For places farther away, the tram was easily accessible and simple to use. There was also a grocery store nearby, which was very helpful during our stay.

The check-in process was smooth, and the instructions provided for getting into the property were very clear and easy to follow.

The only downside for us was the stairs. There are a few stairs just to get to the elevator, and then a steep set of stairs from the entrance door up to the living room area. Carrying luggage up and down was difficult, especially since we were traveling with our 20-month-old and had to block off the stairs in the living area to make sure he didn’t fall.

Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the great location and convenience of the property.

The property is in a good location, only a few blocks from Museumplein and a grocery store. There's even a luggage locker on the way to those mentioned places. Something I wish I had known before hand. My flight landed about 10:30am. So I \"wasted\" about 3-hours at the airport when I could have instead used the luggage locker and had lunch somewhere in the surrounding area. Two to three blocks past the museums and you're at the lovely Vondelpark. This property is further city center though so plan with your interest in mind.

This is a property different than I'm use to. There is no reception desk. You use the main call box outside to reach a receptionist. They're offsite, maybe at another property. Checkin was still easy, just different. The only issue I had with the room was the sliding bolt on the door did not work. So I didn't have an extra layer of security in the evening when I was done exploring.

One minor observation is coffee. They provide 6 pods for the Nespresso style machine, but only one creamer and sugar. Not significant as I observed this early and so picked up what I needed at the grocery store.

While I was staying there, the street was getting new pipes so the road and sidewalks were under constructions. Pads were laid down to ease walking, but if you have a lot of bags, might make it a slight struggle. I imagine that won't be a long term situation though, i.e.-assuming it'll be done before summer and future guests would never know.

Our apartment was about 1.5 miles from the main apartment complex. The room was clean, there was coffee with sugar, cream, coffee pods, 2 in 1 shampoo/body wash. The kitchen had a mini fridge, dishwasher, pots/pans, dishware. Only downside was the one bed space didn’t have storage. Note that the stairways are narrow, like all the houses there!

We really enjoyed staying here, it had great amenities, good location and good value. We loved the view and quiet neighborhood.

The few critiques I would mention are that the room does not have a microwave, so it’s hard to heat up leftovers. Also, we had the 4 person family suite on the fourth floor. This suite would not be a good place for groups with small children or a senior because while you can go up to the third floor using the elevator, the final stretch from the third to the fourth floor is only accessible via the very steep and twisting Amsterdam style stairs. Also the top of the dangerously steep stairs are unprotected at the top in the corner of the apartment and inches away from the bedroom door. Our daughters were sleeping in the bedroom and we were concerned every night that when they got up in the night to go to the bathroom that they could have easily fallen down the stairs and gotten hurt. If the door opened from the right side instead of the left side, then it would not open up to the top of the stairs. Just a thought.

My daughter and I had an amazing trip in Amsterdam. The apartment is just a 2 minute walk to the museum campus, a grocery store, cafes, restaurants, and the tram that can take you almost anywhere you want to go. The apartment was clean and super quiet. Even had an elevator which in Europe is a big plus!

Having a direct phone to the managers was terrific. I called regarding a problem with one of the appliances and the repair person was there within a few hours. Very nice space. The stairs are steep and narrow (this is Amsterdam) but there is also an elevator should that pose a problem. Overall excellent.

Nova apartments are in a useful location, almost in the museumplein and an Albert Heijn just a few minutes walk away. The number 12 tram into the centre is just around the corner. So location was really the reason for booking. Unfortunately there was building work going on next door during our stay so it was very noisy and the road/ pavement outside were a mess. Once this is finished I’m sure the locale will be much better.
The apartment was well equipped on the whole. It could do with another armchair if there are 4 of you staying.
The kitchen area was fine , but cooler instructions should be available as the oven wasn’t too obvious! Either that or a toaster made available.
The downside of the apartment for us was the open plan “ bedroom” - afforded no privacy and meant we weren’t really able to use the seating area if someone wanted to go to bed.
The shower was excellent and clean.
We probably would stay again as the location worked very well for our needs.

More suited to families then 2 couples

Really not suitable for 4 people. The 2nd Bed is in the living area and has NO storage or anywhere to put suitcase or clothes.
There is NO hooks or shelves in eth bathroom and you have to walk through the living area to access the bedroom.
Not recommended for 2 couples. We travelled with our children.
The accommodation was very hot at all times - we went late October and slept with the windows open.
Not suitable if you cant do steep stairs.
Didn't really eat in apartment, although there was the facilities. They took the teatowel on day 2 and didn't replace it and we had no dishcloth.

Great area, easy to walk places and to get to the trams.

Had to call them out on 1st morning as the shower wasn't draining properly. Someone came out on that day and fixed it.

We really enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. The apartment was located very conveniently for museums and galleries, as well as the proximity to the tram and restaurants. The neighbourhood is also a lovely place to wander about and felt safe during the evening (though, you take your life in your hands crossing the cycle lane). The owners are clearly still working on the property as there was a lot of banging and hammering at 7am which may not be ideal if you've had a late night or like to sleep in. This wasn't a deal breaker for us however, and would happily recommend and stay here again.

Excellent location if visiting any of the popular museums and galleries around Museumplein area.
Transport links are excellent and various trams eg Number 12 go the the Central train station.
I usually avoid ‘key in ‘ places with no permanent staff but it was fine. Final payment the night before (local taxes?) and an e mail giving instructions eg turn up, press reception, let in and keys in an envelope.
We requested and received one of the two apartments on the ground floor and it was very convenient. You really do not want the basement as the lift does not go down and the stairs are diabolical.
Apartment had all we needed after we had to ask for help in working the oven. Quite confusing.
Coffee pods and tea bags and dishwasher tablets provided daily and fresh towels.
One odd bit was the absence of any washing machine powder , even a tablet would have done. Cleaner did not know but regular Nova guys turned up and one got us a whole bottle from home.
Shower was very good and the heated towel rail a great drying means and it also had an iron and ironing board.
There are many eating places around and a large supermarket close by but venture west into Oud Zuid area for a quieter and wealthier area with nice cafes and shops. Lillie’s Wine bar was nice. Vondelpark an easy place fir walking.
East a few block we went to La Dilletante wine bar , tiny but young couple were so efficient and friendly.

The property was centrally located near Museumplein, with a decently sized basement level and access to a semi-private patio. However, there was a strange moldy smell coming from the bathroom.

The kitchen was functional but cramped and impractical. There was an odd assortment of cooking pots but no pan, and the oven didn’t work.

Additionally, a strange alarm near the door went off, and several guests tried to figure out how to stop it. I called the offsite reception, but they said no one could check on it until the morning, meaning we had to endure the noise all night.

Upon arrival, we also discovered that the buildings next door were being renovated. Although the notice said work would start at 8 a.m., most days it began at 7:30 a.m.

Overall, it was not the best experience.

In need for renovation and better cleaning

Rather disappointing stay in this place. I was looking forward to a comfortable stay and excited based on the photos, but the place is run down and improperly clean (especially the fridge, with crumbs of food, and even human hair inside!), the bathroom and the area around the garbage bin.

Communication was good around payment of the local tourist tax, but when I contacted them about an item I forgot in the property, there was no reply.

This apartment was absolutely perfect. I was spending a few days in Amsterdam with my eldest daughter (23). So it was wonderful to have somewhere private, peaceful and comfortable to come back to after exploring the city.
It was spotlessly clean, lots of tea and coffee and a well equipped kitchen - we did have one supper in the apartment when we were too tired to go out to eat.
Fab bathroom and shower.
And so convenient - just minutes to the museums and tram stops.
It was perfect for us.

Average at best and vastly overpriced for what it is.
To have to pay £130 and not have a working heating system in the flat is a rip off by any standards.
Incidentally outside temperatures dropped to 10C at night during my stay here.

Either the heating doesn’t work or is turned off during the night as is the case with many cheap Bed and Breakfasts(Incidentally this is the single biggest reason of not staying in cheap Bed and Breakfasts.

However this price is a few multiples of that of a cheap bed and breakfast.

Should have paid the same amount and stayed in a proper 3-4 star hotel with well maintained facilities that actually work.

Great location in the museum quarter close to tram stops etc. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Living room a bit dated but fine as we weren’t in it very much. Beds were very comfortable and made daily. Bathroom was good clean and with a great shower. Kitchen had everything we needed. Location is nice and quiet to down a residential street. Fortunately there was a lift to the apartment on the second floor because I have never seen such steep stairs in a house before. Other than this thought it was a great apartment

The reception staff are fantastic. Always accessible and very friendly.
The studio apartment is well appointed, access to a washing machine is very convenient, and the property is clean. The main drawback for the studio is that it's a basement unit, so it's a bit dark and smells slightly musty.

Smooth checkin. Clean, compact room well equipped. Quiet street a short walk to musiums, many nice cafes and restruants. Supermarket nearby. Washer was appreciated. There is no front desk but a phone call was all that was needed. Local phone calls free.

An Excellent Choice

This was my first trip to Amsterdam. I traveled as a solo female. The city was exceptionally beautiful, the people were friendly, and I enjoyed my entire trip. The apartment was an excellent choice as it was cheaper than the hotels. The dollar is less than the euro, so eating out is expensive. There is an elevator but not to the basement, so I requested a room upstairs which they accommodated. There are 2 rooms per floor, and a washer in the basement. The 1 bedroom was very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped. There is limited housekeeping every day to provide fresh towels, remove the trash and make the bed, but not much else.

I would definitely stay here again.

A very unpleasant hotel stay

We were given a room in the basement. The only way to get there was through a very narrow, winding and steep staircase. The design of this staircase was extremely unsafe. You have to hang on to the rail continuously, which makes it impossible to carry your luggage. There is no staff in the building, so you could not ask for any help. It is a safety hazard and would have been banned in Canada (where I live). They claimed that there would be 24-hour reception, but in reality, it did not exist. There is an elevator, but it does not go to the lower floor (basement). Regardless, in talking to other guests on a higher floor, they said that the elevator was erratic. It did not always work, and the staircase going upstairs was of the same design: narrow and steep.

Great property - home away from home!

Great property - more low key reception than a hotel which makes it feel like you are staying in your own apartment. Nice to have a lounge and kitchen area in addition to just a bedroom that you get in a hotel. Excellent location, within walking distance of the concertgebouw, museums and leidseplein. Also in walking distance of the tram lines.

The only negative aspect was the check in. There is no reception, but I still thought it might be possible for someone to buzz the door open so I could just leave a suitcase at the property for a couple of hours until it was time to check in. I went around at 11am and rang the bell, said my name and was rudely and abruptly told to come back at 2pm. For the next three hours I walked around trying to sightsee with an annoying case. When I got back to the apartment at 2.30 another couple were also checking in. However I discovered that they had arrived at 8am that morning and HAD BEEN ALLOWED to leave their luggage.I also had some issues with the shower, the plug in the hand basin and quality of the TV picture. The first two were dealt with quickly. With regards to the check in I can only say that I felt that I was not listened to in regards to a small request and that I was totally dismissed by the person I spoke to. Having to wheel a suitcase with me for over three hours meant that I wasted quite a bit of valuable time and was unable to access some buildings.
