There was no available storage for our luggage, despite the staff indicating by email that there was. This was very disappointing and inconvenient as we had to find alternative storage at the bus terminal. The staff was apologetic and made the effort to have our room available earlier. The room was very clean and the hotel is located in a good location.

We stayed at Hotel Vera for two nights. The place we stayed at was clean. The location is great. It is close to restaurants and shops. It has a small kitchenette and dining table as well as a sofa bed.

They also provided breakfast of bread, juice and fruit. The bread was excellent.

I would definitely recommend this place and won’t mind staying there again in the future.

This is a uniquely contactless property. They send an email with instructions for accessing the room. There is a doorbell by the restaurant for immediate assistance. The room is clean and has a complete kitchenette perfect for making meals and there is a grocery just down the street. There is a coin operated laundry in the basement and you just have to bring your own detergent. If you choose the breakfast option, it is delivered to door in bags and consisted of cheese, bread, fruit, and orange juice.

The room is very nice. The hotel is in a great location, walkable from several landmarks in the city. The only downside is the lack of front desk or local staff to help. The keypad to the entry did not quite work well and we had to call the support number to get help. Don't forget to write down the number or else you will get stuck if there is a issue. On another occasion, we asked for a late checkout, and the entry code automatically changed at noon, and we weren't notified. Again we had to call for help to get access to room. Other than these incidents, its a great facility.

The hotel was a great value and great location. The only minor complaint is that there is absolutely no staff to communicate with aside from the app. I made one request for more coffee pods. Through the app I was told the message would be passed along to staff. A day later and the request was never fulfilled. While this wasn’t a huge issue, 100% of the attempts to reach out and solve an issue failed with hotel staff. I’m not sure what would have happened with something more important.

There is no concierge or lobby- this in really an airbnb apartment instead of a hotel. Our door code malfunctioned and they were quick to respond via email, so it was fine- but I don't know how helpful they'd be if something went wrong at night. So keep that in mind. Entrance isn't obvious- look for sign for Krons restaurant (which is good, btw) and the door is tucked in same area. Try to stay upstairs so you don't have to go through the restaurant to get to your room.

Super convenient location, though! Easy access to sites, shops and bus stops (#9 & #11 - tell drivers these stops because they generally don't know about this \"hotel\") Clean, full kitchen to prep and store food. Good size bathroom and bed pretty comfy. Good spot if you are low-maintenance!

The location was great. You can walk to most places in Reykjavik. Especially for the price. The room was clean and had a small fridge and whatever you may need. The blankets were incredibly warm which was nice being here at the end of winter. There is no front desk in case you need help or would like ideas for places to eat. That could be why the price was lower than others. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Great location in city center. Clean rooms, good amenities (except maybe that a pan and a microwave dish could have also been supplied) Maybe it was just missing from our room, though. Door locks and self check-in worked well for us, and we did not even have to enter the restaurant that other reviews complained about. There is a separate staircase that takes you to the second floor rooms if you are able and/or willing to walk. Reception and so luggage storage is not available but communication with the owner was excellent. I'd definitely stay again.

The room is great for 2 to 4 people you can cook there if you want it has a mini stove , refrigerator, microwave . It was a nice clean and peaceful place to stay . Highly recommended.

Great location in town. We weren’t able to get into the restaurant that has an elevator so we had to carry the luggage upstairs but the stairs were wide. Check in was pretty easy- we got a email with the door codes and were able to get in easy (no front desk). Room was clean and comfortable with good amount of space, cooktop, coffee maker (with pods) and little fridge. Although the patio door didn’t seem to lock we felt safe and would return.

The hotel room itself was fantastic - lots of space, comfy bed, well decorated. But the street was SO noisy (I was there on a Friday night) it made it difficult to sleep and the stupid automatic door lock did not work at all. I had to call and have a staff member remote access to let me in - really wish we could go back to real keys! You also have to walk through a restaurant to get to the elevator which was a little awkward.

The location was good, and quiet. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The room’s AC unit did not seem to work so it was very hot in the room even with the windows open constantly. Room had nice kitchenette. Drinkable water from tap was very nice. Stand up shower only, and due to not having a door or a lip, only a curtain, it would flood rest of bathroom floor. Due to the early limited flights into the country we requested an early check-in via email the morning we arrived. Staff was able to accommodate us for a fee.

This was a last minute choice and it met our needs. We were on the ground floor, and the rooms are located at the back of a restaurant, which was fine. You couldn't hear any noise from the restaurant. The room had a skylight which provided ample light and fresh air into the room. It was larger than we expected (we were 3 x adults). You step out the front door and everything you need is within a 3-5 minute walk.

It’s a self-serve sort of place. Use a keypad to get into the hall, and a keypad to get into the room. The rooms were fine. Clean, big enough with a counter and little kitchenette. One of our rooms needed a little TLC with a bathroom door that wouldn’t close and the closer foe the patio door dangling as the screws had been pulled from the frame.

The elevator is accessed through the dining room of a restaurant. It’s strange but it works. When we left the hotel the restaurant was closed but we were still able to access the elevator. Very strange but it was fine.

I’m sure a lot of folks will struggle with the keypads - watch the YouTube video they send you and it’s easy.

Overall it’s a super convenient location and seemed good value for the money.

As it’s not a hotel per se, no staff on site, no reception desk, etc, you’ll have to find somewhere to store your luggage if you arrive before check in time. We found a service just a few doors down - keep that extra cost in mind when booking. Same goes for breakfast - there aren’t a lot of choices nearby.

In the end although the room rate was appealing we spent extra time and money on luggage storage and breakfast - perhaps paying a bit more for a true hotel with breakfast included would have been beneficial.

Rooms differ a lot even with the same description - size etc. We had three rooms, the middle of summer when it's daylight the blackout curtains in our room were falling off the rails etc. Other room curtains/rod were inches away from the wall, so it never was dark at all. It was not conducive to sleeping well. Beds were not super comfortable, but we were only there for a short time.

Very clean and comfortable self-check in aparthotel in the heart of Reykjavik's dining and shopping along Laugavegur (Flybus drop off/pick up: Stop 9, OK Studios) We had a smooth check-in, a good stay and a smooth check-out. No staff on-site but host was clear in their instructions and prompt in theirccommunication via emails in the few days before and during our stay. Kitchen was well-equipped and stocked for cooking and cleaning (the coffee machine, freezer fridge, stove, grill microwave and dishwasher worked great, self-paid basement laundry facilities were a godsend). We were fine without daily cleaning as the large trash bins were sufficient for 3-4 nights. Would stay here again!

Our stay at the Vera Hotel in Reykjavik was quite good! The room was nice, pretty quiet, clean, and conveniently located in Reykjavik. The bed was comfortable. A big plus was that the room included a sink, hot plate, table for two, and refrigerator! The only negative about the room was I wish the shower curtain was weighted so it wouldn't blow on you while showering. Other than that, we were very happy with Vera Hotel!!

Unaware until day before trip hat the hotel has no front desk. We arrived around noon and wanted to drop off bags, like a normal hotel. Very inconvenient since all flights in land early. And since there is only a phone number, that wasn’t answered first try, we were kind of stuck lugging around bags till afternoon, which means it’s hard to do any sight seeing. Room itself is nice, and well located. Just wish the lack of physical person on property was more known in advance

Great location and well-appointed property. We were happy to have a kitchenette to be able to prepare some meals and snacks in the room, and the Bonus market was one block away so we could be well-stocked. The shower was excellent. The toilet paper roll holder was too far from the toilet. We were comfortable during our 3-night stay but if we’d been there any longer the lack of housekeeping would have been a drawback.

Check in is simple with entrance & room doors PIN code sent 1 day prior to check in. The only flaw is, the elevator (lift) can only be accessible via the restaurant on the ground floor & the restaurant will block the access pin pad at the entrance during their business hours.

So if you are checking in with luggage / have difficulties with stairs & needing the lift during meal times, good luck to you. The restaurant staff will ignore & pretend not to look at you despite your knocks on the glass door.

The location is excellent just a block away from bus stop #9 where all the airport/tour/local buses pick up/drop off. It’s on the main shopping street where all the restaurants and shops are located. Hotel room was very modern and it has a nice fridge and kitchenette. The kitchen rag needs some attention or replacement as I found hair from previous inhabitants on it. If you are going during the winter time and when there are snow on the roof, it may not be a good idea to stay here because if you are placed on the first floor and get a room with a sky window, it will leak melted snow from the ceiling to the area around your bed. The shower stall was a big challenging to fit and maneuver in for a 6 ft person but that’s to be expected in most places in Iceland. The attached restaurant Kröns is very nice if you don’t want to venture far.

Check in was horrendous. Was completely clueless what to do. They didnt send me the email till 5:30pm, chdck in was at 3. Had to wsit outside to get the wifi and codes from the janitor. Rooms were tidy inside but the smell was atrocious. We had to go inside a restaurant to enter our rooms and the entire room smelled like urine. Stayed in iceland for 7 days. Worst stay so far.

This is in a very busy area! Hotel is steps from temple bar and so many good food options. It’s walkable to various museums and many things to do. It is a bit loud and busy so if you have a young family or want a quiet space, this may not be it. But the staff was very nice. Our first room had a leak in the bathroom but they switched rooms for us. They were very accommodating and peasant. The pics on Orbitz didn’t look like our rooms but still very nice and so convenient.

5 stars for location but knocked down to 3 which is pretty generous considering we were in a first floor location that felt like a dungeon… no windows just a skylight which fogged up and dripped on us, and that you can look right into from the top balcony rooms. Room was way too hot despite us turning it off, and there was nothing we could do to alleviate it since there are no windows to open. We had no power when we got in our room and had to wait around to have someone look at it since there is no on site staff.
Location is ideal which is the saving grace, but the room was far from it.

The entry door was stucked so badly that it made you wonder if could ever get in. The telecomm is a joke, they couldn't hear you clearly, so did I. The room feels like a jail cell, because the \"window\" is on the ceiling! The worst \"hotel\" experience I ever have.

Wonderful hotel, the no front desk did surprise us but we didn’t read the hotel details well enough otherwise would’ve known that. So there wasn’t somewhere to leave our bags when we came in early BUT the staff was super helpful through messaging to help us locate luggage storage and notified us as soon as we could access our room. Highly recommend this place
