The location was excellent in frint of harbour with beautiful views, right in centre but quite end of Amalfi. Its lovely hotel clean with parking available was essential for us a bit expensive but . Staff very friendly and will do anything for you . We had one evening meal in the hotel -not as much to say about food , we had enjoyed meal out in town so many places to eat . We had few drinks on rooftop bar beautiful views excellent staff - drinks more expensive but its 4 star hotel , lovely settings just enjoy it . Its lovely area around hotel especially night time defenetly posh area

This hotel was amazing. It’s so close to the port if you are taking the ferry in and still close to all the shops and restaurants. The staff were attentive and super friendly! We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and when we got there they offered us a complimentary bottle of champagne. If you are staying in Amalfi, I highly recommend this place!

Awesome hotel. Staff is very helpful, a two minute walk to Amalfi shops and restaurants and bus and ferries. We had the balcony and in October we opened the door and could see the sea plus get the breeze in. Only about 5 stairs to get to the lobby and the staff were so helpful to get the luggage up and down them. In an area where there are stairs everywhere this was great. They also have an elevator to the floors plus a free breakfast which was yummy! We’d absolutely stay again!!

Outstanding location with quick access to all transportation and shopping in Amalfi. Staff was the real difference as they were incredibly accommodating and attentive to our needs and requests.

The front desk arrange a private golf cart tour up to Ravello that was amazing. He dropped us off to explore for the day ( with his recommendations ) and then continued to provide insights on the return trip with stops at key photo spots along the way.

Rooftop bar had a fantastic band one night. Just a great stay.

A Thoroughly Delightful Stay!

Hotel La Bussola was lovely! All the staff - from reception to restaurant to room cleaners and laundry services - were friendly, accommodating, and very helpful. They scheduled ground transportation, offered ideas and recommendations, and made the most delicious meals! Our room was immaculate, as were all the other areas of the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located on the main road along the Amalfi waterfront, within walking distance of the ferry port and bus/shuttle center, and only steps away from beaches, dining, shopping, ATMs, and tourist sites.

Nice hotel in great location but they have unusual and inconvenient system for serving food for the breakfast! Guests can’t help themselves for the open buffet there was one staff to serve you and all the guests have to wait till she finishes before serving the second guest and if you forget soy or need to top up you have to take queue again, how silly was that!!

LOVED our time at this hotel so much we stayed an extra day. The rooms have so much character and the most beautiful ocean views. The location is perfect, within a couple of minutes walk to the ferry and excursions or shopping. At night the lounge upstairs was a bit loud, and the swimming area attendant wasn’t the friendliest or most attentive but we still had a blast there as a family of 5 (2 rooms).

Hotel La Bussola, is a wonderful and unique property. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable. The views from the room with balconies are simply awe inspiring, with direct vistas of the ocean and the small boats it was for us the best way to start our morning and to end our evenings. The most practical thing was that its location allows you to go out into town and walk back to your room without any hassle of having to climb hundreds of steps. Francesca on staff was just amazing, she is genuinely kind and very helpful to us during the time we spent at the hotel. The cleaning staff were truly very talented, taking cleanliness to another level and with a smile. We would definitely return to Hotel La Bussola! We spent 6 days there as our base and in total stayed 11 days in the region.

The hotel, service personnel except for 1 front desk person were great.

However, I would like to speak to someone to settle an issue that I had with the facility personnel regarding a request of an upgrade.

I had asked for an upgrade the day before of my check in. I was quoted $50 per day difference which I had agreed to but at check out I was billed $99 per day difference. I tried to explain that there calculation was based on their net amount (total amount less commission) so for me to pay $99 per day I was paying the original commission again. They disagreed with me and being the lobby were filled with people, I paid the amount and left. I’m hoping you would be able to help me settle this issue.

Loved the position of this hotel, for someone with mobility issues it was perfect.
The room itself, especially the bathroom, would benefit from being updated. The bed however, was so comfortable but the pillows were a bit hard. Sitting on the balcony was a wonderful way to people watch.
The breakfast had lots of choice and very nice staff. We didn’t eat dinner there, but the menu looked nice.
Our favourite place to hang out was the rooftop bar. The choice of cocktails was fantastic, the bar staff and waiters were so friendly and the music was great.
If I ever find myself in Amalfi again I would definitely stay at La Bussola again

La estadia era un precio elevado, pero decidi tomarla con vista al mar (amo!!) y por su ubicacion. Me dieron una habitacion diferente a la contratada, en un 1er piso sin vistas al mar, y sin balcon, y sin el espacio de sillon que aparece en las fotos. Tenia acceso a una terraza con unos paredones de 1,50m de altura, delimitada como una zona por una cerca, pero el de la habitacion de al lado podia pasar caminando frente a mi ventana y ver en el interior. La abitacion continua hacia el frente renia una libustrina, por lo que desde la habitacion nada de mar se podia ver. Ademas era mas pequeña de lo que figuraba en las fotos pues solo contaba con una cama y la circulacion en U perimetral. Cuando lo consulte con el hotel me respondieron que si era lo contratado ya que lo dice en la pagina (lo cual es mentiroso, porque ninguna foto hay de esta habitacion ni de estas NO vistas), y que si queria cambiarme debia pagar mas dinero, ya que las habitaciones de las fotos estaban todas ocupadas. Hotels.com no hizo nada tampoco para resolver esto solo me ofrecio puntos en sus istema para una proxima estadia. Luego entre a la pagina del hotel y para mi sorpresa me encontre que ademas habia abonado un 20% mas caro. FRAUDULENTO todo, el manejo, el cobro, la falta de solucion, el pedido de mas dinero. Decidi no hacerme mala sangre pero me parece importante dejarlo en las reseñas tanto por el hotel como por la app que ninguno fue capaz de dar una solucion satisfactoria.

Great location close to ferry drop off, shopping, and restaurants. They were quick to check us in and even checked us in a little early. When we settled in our room, we got a knock on the door and were greeted with complimentary champagne. They recommended us where to rent a scooter and even called to help make accommodations if we needed. Everyone was very helpful. A great stay overall with great service. Thank you to all the staff for making this an amazing trip! It’s definitely hard to leave here.

We had a view and balcony facing the water. It was a little loud at night but that's because we had the windows open/shutters closed to let in the breeze. Room itself had a comfortable bed, pillows and nice bathroom. We found the staff at the desk to be very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good with many choices and delicious made to order coffees. The location was close to the ferry, bus and main shopping street of Amalfi. We would stay here again. The staff also helped us arrange a driver to Naples for departure.

When we stayed it was a little warm but the AC broke so had to sleep with the balcony door open. People walking by making noises at all hours of the night. Didn’t get a good sleep. When we checked out, ask the receptionist if she can called us a taxi. Instead of helping she told us to walk to the taxi stop. I don’t understand how she couldn’t take a few minutes to call a taxi. It wasn’t like she was busy. So we ended there waiting for almost 30 mins trying to get a taxi but most were already reserved. Hotel could be a little more accommodating. Probably won’t stay there again due to this.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel La Bussola. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel is beautiful, and right on the water, and only a few minutes walk to the main port and square of Amalfi. It is just off the main highway of the Amalfi coast, so the street in front is not too busy. The view from the terrace is great. Breakfast was delicious, although only offered for two hours in the morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Aircon barley worked and it took hours to get the room cold. The doors/isolation in the rooms were very thin and we woke up multiple times hearing people in the corridor outside or in the rooms next door.

My wife is recovering from back surgery and has difficulty walking and climbing steps. This Amalfi Hotel, The La Bussola, is on the Main Street along the water front. There are six steps up to the main floor and two elevators to the other 4 floors. When we walked about 500 feet from the ferry landing to the front of the La Bussola, hotel staff was waiting to help us with our luggage and the entrance steps.
Entering the lobby we were met as old friends by Lucianna who had answered several of my wife’s inquiries. She set the highest standard of service which was met by all other on the staff from room cleaners to restaurant personnel.
Our room was extraordinary clean and am decorated. The flooring was ceramic tile with accents of local flowers. Our room as all rooms had a small balcony over looking the Amalfi Promenade and bay. Several time we needed assistance with scheduling activities. The staff immediately attended to our request. I can only say that it was one of my best experiences among those I’ve had in my 82 years and 40 countries visited.

The hotel has a great old charm to it. However, it was quite noisy outside. The noise started at 5am with barking digs and motorists. The housekeeping started at 7am with moving furniture and lots of banging. The hotel was clean but has an awful smell in the evening of rotten egg. The size of the room was fantastic and the location was convenient.

My room was unbelievably tiny. They gave me a single bed that was barely 30” wide, if that. Bathroom is ancient. Hard to move around in bathroom without knocking elbows into the walls. Furniture in room was horrible…like worse than a youth hostel. Bedding was horrible. Scratchy thin brown blanket with a horrible red bedspread…not comfortable at all. Barely slept in three nights. For what I paid — the room that I was assigned was just awful. So awful that I decided that instead of visiting Positano after my 3 days in Amalfi — I canceled Positano to return to a 5-star hotel in Roma. The location of the hotel is wonderful and the staff are lovely. But the room I was given was absolutely horrific.

This was my favorite hotel in Italy! The rooftop bar for happy hour vibes every night was a highlight of our trip. The free breakfast was really good too. Loved being able to walk to the ferry and restaurants easily. So glad we paid extra for the sea view too. Highly recommend this!

Enjoyed the hotel and the location close to town. Roof top bar was excellent. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. What I did not like was the rock hard beds that made us sore the next day. Also the beachside chair patio was not available and we were told it is only available for a few weeks of the year. Because of the beds I would not recommend.

The hotel arranged a driver to pick me up from Naples. The driver was late due to an accident on the road so by the time I got to the hotel it was after 9 p.m. They had kept the kitchen open for me and I was so surprised - who does that?? So grateful because I hadn't eaten in a long time after such a long trip.

I would love to stay here again - incredibly convenient, really nice people, good food and a wonderful view.

I loved the hotel’s location! Very clean, comfortable bed, excellent staff and beautiful view. Food menu could have been better but the hotel is EXCELLENT!

Everything around this hotel is was very convenient restaurants, transportation, shopping etcetera and the hotel is gorgeous.
Highly recommended.
