This used to be our favorite hotel in Cha Am. But they don't seem to maintain it properly. First of all, the bed sunk in the middle creating bad back ache. Second of all. Whenever the property is empty, they would switch off the internet. Who's is bizarre! Second of all. The water heater stopped working most of the time. We would not stay here anymore.

I'm afraid the only reason to stay here would be for price considerations. The property is old. Lots of alternatives all along the beach.
And upon departure, the concierge offered to get me a taxi to the main road for more than double what the cost was on a Grab taxi. I went with the Grab taxi and saved my money.

Really excellent value for money hotel in a nice quiet area but beach front. Lots of local food options too in addition to hotel choice.
Staff were great too, communal areas welcoming and pretty, rooms pretty spacious. Incredible panorama of the mountains and sea surrounding 360 from the rooftop terrace.
Would definitely return if staying in Chaam again

We enjoyed a very nice 2 night stay at the Golden Beach which is very close to the sea and all amenities . Also close to P'Tia bar which is great for a nightcap after dinner.

Good and convenient location, 1 minute walk from the beach, friendly staff, efficient check-in and out. Spacious rooms, but hotel has seen better times.
Be prepared to confront lots of European tourists in the pool and breakfast area. Many of them run to the swimming pool first thing in the morning to occupy their sunbed for the rest of the day by putting their towel on it (and then go back to bed or breakfast). Pool staff do nothing about this, so I guess the hotel needs to adjust its pool policy.
Overall fairly good value for money.

This hotel is fair value for money.The decor is a little dated, the rooms can be a bit noisey as can the old air con units, but the excellent ocean views are worth it.Breakfast has a good selection and the pool is quite good.The location is excellent with plenty of restaurants nearby and just across the road from a perfect beach.

Good hotel and close to the beach

It was very good time to spend at this hotel, their facilities were good enough for having a conference. After joining the official meeting, you can relax at the beach just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

There are Halal food restaurants, but quite far from the hotel namely Aminah Restaurant, Mariam Restaurant, as well as the fresh seafood restaurants near the beach.

Large family suit...nothing like the brochure photos....old dated and tired interior....three piece suit hard solid traditional hand carved wood very uncomfortable....balcony wall not high enough, safety issue...like wise the walk ways to the rooms you can look over the side down in to the heart of the hotel and again the walls are low so potential danger for children and those who might be a bit worse for ware after a skin full....no safety railing....

Golden Beach A Good Value

Golden Beach Cha Am is reasonably priced. The buffet breakfast is a bit better than most Thai hotel buffet breakfasts as they have a noodle and an omelet chef to customize, and most of the food was reasonably warm. A good mix of western, Thai, salad, fruit and bread offerings. Hotel is very close to the beach, near the quieter northern end, and that is a huge asset. Rooms are large and clean, but sparsely furnished. In-room coffee/tea is nice. Swimming pool is fantastic! Wi-fi is weak and sometimes unreachable. The shower floor can get slippery and they'd do well to add some friction strips to keep slipping around down. Pleasant, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

Booked for 5 nights. Hotel was full because of Thai new year festival. First night we were 'upgraded' to a junior suite because the deluxe room booked was unavailable. The suite had a very musty smell as though it hadn't been occupied for some time and the room was not of a high standard. However the deluxe room was far superior, very comfortable. Included breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food available at the buffet and eggs ommeletes etc cooked to order . Because the hotel was full the first three days breakfast was in the ballroom and there were hundreds of guests there, but service was wonderful. The last two days breakfast was served in the terrace restauraunt because of fewer guests after Thai new year festival finished. Standard remained the same

I got there at 7am. Check in is 12 noon. They told me I could use the facilities until check in. ( Well done) I changed into my bathing suit and hung out at the pool. Wifi was great. Breakfast was great. I only had 2 complaints. One was the wifi worked everywhere except the room. I called front desk and they sent someone right away. It sort of felt like they were just going through the motions so I kinda resigned myself to no wifi in the room. Low and behold the next day it was fixed. Someone came my room to check. Big points for this service. Thank you Anthony. My other complaint was the tv. Channels weren't clear and many just cut out. I didn't bother calling front desk as I wasn't really there to watch tv any. Maybe I should have????

Good Value Hotel Let Down By Local Environment

Hotel spacious, quiet with good pool. Buffet breakfast nice but a bit repetitive for long stay. Main problem was lack of public transport other than expensive taxis eg B500 to go one way to Hua Hin. No songtaews. What really spoilt our stay were the filthy streets full of stinking trash cans, the smelly drains and the rubbish lying on the roadsides. No longer a good place for a holiday.

Okay, I have great things to say about the hotel, but the staff were miserable. The hotel is beautiful and has 20 floors, and the rooms are very nice!!! The pool was great, and the breakfast buffet was amazing! The staff though really were just lousy and unfriendly. Not welcoming at all.

I have stayed in this hotel before and although they have made improvements to the common parts, like the check-in area, dining area and pool/garden they still need to go a lot further. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which is huge, however, it's dated, the bed was so uncomfortable we moved the mattress on the floor. There were no chairs to sit out on any of the three balconies and no crockery or cutlery to the kitchenette. Most importantly Cha Am isn't what it used to be, there is a constant smell of diesel apparent when sitting on the beach or going in the water

The hotel is close to the Cha Am beach, a nice place for relax.
The room is clean and comfortable.
The staff is friendly and always there to help.
The location far from downtown (Hua Hin), you need to book a taxi/van for touring.
However it is great place for beach lover.

Worth the price

We had a suite with 2 bedroom and living area (room only, no BF incl). It was spacious and clean although the decoration was a little aged - my parents wouldn't mind that anyway. Kettle and fridge were there. Could be nice if we can have a microwave also. Parking space was okay. Walking distance to the beach and small stores/restaurant near by.

Few improvement points. There was no air circulation system in the bathroom and the sliding door to the corridor couldn't be locked - might be dangerous if you have children.

Great Stay, Good Value, Nice Room.

Everything went very smoothly and there were no problems at all. The deluxe room that we stayed in was really nice and the view from the 20th floor was good too. However some parts of the hotel were starting to really show it's age and some areas are starting to look a bit grubby. However, this is Thailand and it is in Cha Am, I'm guessing that if you choose to go to Cha Am then like me you won't really be expecting world class facilities.

Overall it was good, the value was great and it was very comfortable.

The Retreat

Very disappointing

The superior we booked was not what we expected. Far from the description given on the hotel details. We were escorted to our room on the 11th floor. The room was rather dark with basic furnishing. It has a shower cubicle with poor lighting. Light fitting in the lounge was hanging loosely and taped up. There was a fridge and still has food in it. Obviously not serviced properly. We refused to stay in this room and asked for an upgrade to a suite and we were then taken to view a couple of rooms. We chose the one on the third floor room 318. We were charged an extra 1200.00 Thai baht for this. Although this room is a lot bigger again it is furnished every basic. We requested a couple of bath towels but arrived after three phone calls both to the reception and housekeeping. Water pressure in the bath is very slow and it took at least half an hour to fill the bath tub and the temperature control was rather archaic. There are some construction works going on in the building and the noise could be heard loudly from the hotel room. Communicating with the staff was rather difficult due to poor English knowledge. Breakfast spread is also minimal and disappointing. Coffee and tea are prepared in advance in a large metal dispenser and they are not fit for consumption. WIFI was available for a fee. The staff overall are nice enough and did try their best. We only stayed the one night as it was a friend,s 70th birthday being held at his hotel.

Good location

Easy check in. They gave us a room with two single beds but changed it promptly with no hassle or problem. The hotel staff were very friendly. Didn't eat there so can't comment. The beach is approx 150mts past several quiet bars. The only livelyish Soi is approx 1.5 km away and several cheap local seafood restaurants approx 1km the other way.

A totally disappointing experience!

The Golden Beach Hotel was a HUGE let down from the moment we arrived until we left 22 hours later, 1 day into a PAID FOR and UNREFUNDED 6 day stay. The condition of the hotel is old, run down, in contrast to the pictures provided to travel sites, which must be at least 20 years old, when the hotel was new and shiny, before 20+ years of neglect. Also the \"suite\" that I paid 40% over the single room rate was not a suite, just a slightly larger room. I was told that the steam room, advertised on all hotel sites, was, \"being renovated\". There is 1 big week a year in Cha Am, NYE. Who would renovate on that 1 week? The hotel GM asked why we were leaving. I detailed my disappointments with the hotel and my disbelief that the steam room was, \"under renovation\". I asked when was the last time it had worked. She just looked at me, which I took to be her tacit admission that it had been out of service for some time, and that she and her staff had been lying to me. This was beyond unacceptable. The final insult to injury was the hotel's refusal to refund my payment. So it cost over $1000 to stay there for 1 day. Only because hotels.com gave me a $500 credit that the 1 day stay ended up costing me \"only\" $500 +. So hotels.com and I paid $500 each for this stay. I can not speak highly enough of hotels.com's service , or badly enough of the Golden Beach Hotel. I can not think of words to describe my thoughts on Golden Beach that would be PG Rated.

The living situation is really awful.
The hotel located in Cha Am. Area is really dirty dull and brutal.lots of terrible stinky fast food. a few normal restaurants, dirty narrow beach with dogs poos and empty cans. The hotel is in the process of being renovated, but the room they gave us was still dated and used. At the first day of our staying we found a cockroach in the wardrobe. We told about it to manager and she gave us keys from another room. It was already updated and rather smart. When we carried our luggage to that room the manager came in and told we have to change the room one more time as the price for that was a bit higher. As the hotel is being under construction, everybody can constantly hear the loud rumble. we watched all these updating works from our dirty windows and balcony. We had to pay 250 batt a week for wi fi. Hot water in the shower was not hot at all, the towels were worn and washed out. And a nail sticked out from the seat of the arm chair and my son set on it and hurt his leg.
The hotel was overcrowded with Thai families. And we could hardly find a table for to have breakfast. We could constantly hear our neighbors snoring, taking shower and so on The price for the taxi is really high -900 btt to Hua Hin and back.
Unfortunately our staying was prepaid and we were with our child so we couldn't check out earlier..
will never never never stay here again.

The staff were excellent like you expect in Thailand. Location could not be better next to the beach and in the middle of the beach strip. Room large but small balcony, all have sea view. The pool is new and therefore excellent. Breakfast perfect and caters for whatever you want. My only let down is the bathroom. It took ages to get hot water, the paintwork needs painting and the door was de-laminating. I would have given it 5 stars only for the outdated bathroom.

Smutsigaste rum vi någonsin bott på. Dörren in till badrummet så solkig, spegelramen full av gammal tandkräm, fullt med damm under sängen. Diskade inte glas och muggar vid städning.
Usel incheckning också där det inte gick att betala kontaktlöst utan de hade en gammal kortläsare som inte var medgörlig. Tomma restauranger. STORT behov av upprustning.

Hotellet har en policy om at sykler ikke er lov på hotellet og må stå i åpent parkeringshus under hotellet, det er ikke lov å ta sykkelen til rommet engang for justering, må du justere må du gjøre det i garasjen. Så tar du med sykkel til Thailand, eller har en sykkel du er litt redd for, finn et annet hotell eller leilighet et annet sted.
Ellers var oppholdet greit nok og får derfor 2 stjerner.
Men syklister hold dere borte, ihvertfall dere med landeveissykkel, eller kjøp 15 kjettinger så dere kan låse fast alle deler, for parkerings garasjen er åpen døgnet rundt, ingen port.

少し古いですが清潔感は感じられました。部屋によるのかもしれませんが、コンセントの数が少なく感じました。

Bra läge!

Stort hotell. Rummet var rymligt. Balkong men inga stolar att sitta på. Personalen var vänlig och hjälpsam. Riklig frukost. Poolen var härlig. Tyst och lugnt på hotellet.

Olimme ylimmässä kerroksessa, ja siinä oli 20.krs liikaa! Ei siel uskaltanut olla partsilla, mut onneksi hissillä pääsi nopeesti alas rantsulle. Vähän kulahtanut hieno hotelli, mutta toimi meille vallan hyvin. Sängyt oli riittävän pehmeitä, ja se oli iso plussa.

ภายนอกห้องพัก โรงแรมมีสภาพเก่าไปหน่อย แต่ภายในห้องพักดูดี สะอาด มีห้องนอน 2 ห้อง ห้องนั่งเล่น ห้องน้ำ 1 ห้อง โดยห้องนอน 1 ห้องเป็นวิวทะเล ห้องนั่งเล่นวิวทะเลเช่นกัน

ฟรีไวไฟ มีน้ำ 4 ขวดสำหรับ 4 คน

ที่จอดรถเพียงพอ ทั้งใต้โรงแรม และด้านข้างโรงแรมที่มีหลังคาสแลนท์

พนักงานยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใส ดูแลเอาใจใส่ดี วันที่เราเข้าพักมีกรุ๊ปทัวร์มาเช็คอิน พนักงานแยกพวกเราออกไปเช็คอินต่างหาก รวดเร็ว ส่วนเช็คเอาท์ต้องรอพนักงานเคลียร์ห้องประมาณ 5 นาที ไม่มีค่า deposit

อาหารเช้าอร่อย มีปนริมาณพอเพียง

ข้อควรปรับปรุง ควรมีอาหารที่หลากหลายกว่านี้ / ห้องพักควรมีอุปกรณ์เครื่องครัวให้ด้วย / ห้องน้ำ 1 ห้องสำหรับพัก 4 คน น้อยไปหน่อย

我喜歡離海邊很近，附今很多7-11及餐廳，還有許多商店。若免費飯店提供接駁服務更棒，因為交通非常不方便。

Hotellet har fin beliggenhet i Cha-Am. Strand og restauranter i umiddelbar nærhet. Hyggelig betjening, god rengjøring og fint bassengområde.

部屋は広く清潔

部屋は広く清潔でした。今回は6階でしたが上階だったらもっと素晴らしい海岸の眺めでしょうが、まあ満足の眺めでした。朝食は素晴らしいです。ホテルの前の通りにはレストランやマッサージ店があります。

Spacious room

The 2-bedroom suite is spacious with sea view. It is located at the front side of the hotel building. We stayed on 8th floor (there were 20 floors) even though we requested via both hotels.com App and direct call for a higher floor. The swimming pool is okay and could be a bit packed at some points. The prices shown on the menu of the cafe on the 1st floor are not included service charge and VAT. Most of the shops in the hotel arcade are empty and quiet. A 7-11 shop is very close.
