Just home from a overnight stay here. 4 double rooms was booked and couldn't of been happier. Was greatest by a very friendly girl who explained everything we needed to know. We unpacked and got changed after a long day motorcycling. Headed down for food which was outstanding complete with desert. After we went into the bar for a few games of pool and drinks. All the staff and locals was super friendly.
The rooms complete with tea/coffee facilities freeview tv double bed shower over bath. 👌 great night's sleep for all. Breakfast in the morning was perfect just the right size complete with help your self cereals and juice. Full English with toast included with your stay. We paid £70 per room and was worth every penny. Thank you and as 4 bikers we felt very welcomed and will certainly use again.

Basic accommodation but everything that was needed. Comfortable twin beds, nice and firm.
Bathroom was adequate but without a toilet lid there was no place to put toiletries so a small shelf or table would have been good. Overall, very good value for money. Nice full length mirror. Somewhere cosy to store our bikes (laundry room) and great curry for our evening meal. Were there hooks behind the bathroom door? These are always useful. Another suggestion would be an extra towel rail please for the 2nd person's towel to dry. One thing I would like to suggest to all hoteliers is different coloured towels for each person! Difficult to know whose is whose when they are all white. Just a thought .... Overall, a very satisfactory stay and an added bonus - right on the National Cycle Route. What a find!! Last time we stayed at Llangwair Manor. Beautiful grounds but no evening food and your breakfast was superior. Thank you very much!

Dissappointing

Rooms were in very poor repair and long overdue a refurb. They were actually reasonably clean but wear and tear and lack of maintenance just made them look grubby and rundown.
Service in the bar and dining room was slow and inattentive and while two of the staff were friendly enough, one individual was offhand and gave the impression we were a nuisance to her.
The ladies cooking and serving breakfast were far more professional and friendly.
Overall the food was OK but some the sides really let it down.
Very limited selection of drinks on tap.

The room was cold and very damp throughout , the wall blackening on the Window side and smelled of damp. Was not allowed to eat in my room, have never stayed at any inn or hotel where I was unable to take my food into my room. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very pleasant, the bath and water pressure was great , however with the damp feeling in the room and no heating on, I would not stay again.

Always have a lovely stay here.

This is our second stay in The Salutation Inn. We really enjoy our stays here. The rooms are comfortable, the service excellent, the food is good quality and reasonably priced, and there is a good selection of drinks - again, reasonably priced. We love this area, so plan to come here again ASAP.

My sister & I had walked the coast path from Goodwick, taking footpaths from Newport to The Salutation Inn...we were so pleased to see it! A perfect place to stay after a long walk, refreshing beer in the bar before being shown our room. Very good dinner in the dining room later. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. Good breakfast before we left.

I was attending an event at the nearby Castell Henllys Iron Age village. The Salutation Inn was the ideal place to stay. Clean, comfortable and welcoming, it was also a very good place to have dinner!

Damp and mouldy!

Staff very nice. Food good. The room was very bad! It was damp and mouldy and the damp smell was overpowering. In the morning the inside of the window was soaking wet. We then understood why the empty room doors and windows were left open.

We paid for three nights but checked out after only one. Nobody was available to complain to so we just handed the key to the breakfast lady and left.

This is not a room at a village inn. It’s a room in a flat roofed annex that smells of damp and mould. The worst room we have ever stayed in!

Luckily we found a nice alternative a few miles down the road. It meant we had to pay extra for for another two nights but it was worth it. We felt the damp conditions could have impacted on our health had we stayed longer in the Salutation Inn.

We wouldn’t stay here again.

Staff very nice. Food good. The room was disgraceful! Smelly, damp and mouldy. We paid for three nights but checked out after one. Nobody available to complain to so we just handed the key to the breakfast lady and left.

This is not a room at a village inn. It’s a room in a flat roofed annex that stinks of damp and mould. The worst room we have ever stayed in!

No refund offered for the nights we didn’t stay either - and it cost us another £255 to stay elsewhere!

Beware! The good reviews are unbelievable in our opinion.

A very warm welcome at this rural country pub .It had obviously just been modernised ;recently constructed conservatory housed a light and airy dining room . All bedroooms were ensuite ,with very comfortable beds ,nice white quilts,decorated very simply with a Welsh wool throw and a cushion bearing the Welsh flag . Although it was at the side of the road we were unable to hear any road noiise and there was a lovely ,extensive garden with lots of dense greenery and plenty of gardenseats .DEFINATELY a lovely , calm place to stay

Everyone was friendly and mostly accommodating but there was quite a few issues.fiest main bit was the bed.we were given the wrong type room and wasn't meant to be a dble/twin room it was meant to be a dble room and also the dble put from twin beds in the room was sooo so uncomfortable/worst for wear and we had to turn it over and there was springs etc hurting us really badly and still suffering now and my other half already has pain problems which were too made worse.i had none til I slept there.we also once turned over it was better but still uncomfortable and with 2 seperate sheets not a dble sheet to help it stay together.it was then uncomfortable to even try to cuddle together as we are a couple with quite a gap in middle.also we were then really itchy more on e changing the bed and did get bitten alot.sleot bad most of the time both of us.the shower was broken soo we could not use it and the bath had fixed cracks in it and mould blk mould starting from it being quite damp room and bathroom due to no window.shame really as a great location and most staff great.nice little place.the steak I had was really bad and could not eat it and did cost alot too!.had hardly any toilet roll in room soo had to keep asking to get this filled up and mugs in there was not swapped.over or sugar filled.amd asked all the time for stuff.for me breakfast was okay but maybe very basic and small and having to be very clear what u ask as they weren't too generous with it and pretty basic.

The friendliness of the staff and the obvious care put into the gardens, plus reasonable food, were all positives. I think I may have drawn the short straw with my room which felt damp despite it being well aired. A towel heater had thoughtfully been left on in the bathroom, in June. There was mould spots on the shower curtain and the bath wobbled when standing under the shower! But I slept well, enjoyed the quiet location and views to trees and low hills from my bedroom window.
I enjoyed eating in a bar area where visitors and locals clearly all felt this was a place that welcomed them.

one night stay for Fishguard Ferry journey.

We stayed one night as we were catching the Fishguard Ferry to Ireland the next day. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and although we did not need to use the bus it would be ideal for someone staying longer who wanted to get around without using their car. We drove ten minutes up the road to Newport Beach and was able to park right on the sea front with no charge for parking. We then walked up into the village and enjoyed looking around the small village with its assortment of quaint shops. We ate our evening meal back at the Salutation and could not fault the food served to us. The next morning a fantastic breakfast was served setting us up for our onward journey to Ireland. The atmosphere at the Inn is warm and welcoming, it was not just the staff that were friendly but the other customers dining there also were welcoming. We could have happily stayed there for longer than one night and will consider doing that when we have some time. The bed that we had in our room was the best bed we have slept in at a hotel for a long time. Fabulous stay.
