Down but to be honest all about relaxing. No cooked breakfast but a complimentary breakfast with breakfasts available at ships inn weekends another one by launderette a few in Cardigan and Tesco do an all day breakfast. Aberporth has coastal footpath on its doorstep Tresaith nearby and penbryn and Llangranog and Cardigan lots shops a castle and water activities.

Perfect for an overnight stop along the Ceredigion Coast Path. The breakfast tray was very welcome as nothing was open for breakfast when I left (it was Sunday and I left at 8am as I was going all the way to Aberaeron). Also appreciated having a kettle in the room to make numerous cups of tea! Only minor issue was that I found the room cold, even with the heater on. And after a long day on the trail, I really wanted to be cosy and warm.

Not the stay i was expecting

It was an education to learn the a Service hotel on a room only basis meant there was no staff, reception, restaurant etc. Key coded entry for hotel and room.
Limited places to eat in walking distance really limited choices.
Room overlooked residential places and was pretty souless.

Great communication, easy self check in, clean spacious room with great sea view as described. Modern room with space utilised really well. Love the heated mirror in the bathroom! Comfortable bed and pillows (we snoozed our alarm!) Super soft towels. Tea and coffee great and nice touch with a bottle of cold water and Breakfast tray. 100% recommend and would definitely stay again!! Thank you!

This is a fantsstic property. Plenty of communication before-hand. Music plays to welcome you (as it's a self-check in), the place is very clean and everything you need is included.
It is a shame that no-one is there to provide breakfast & that you have a continental breakfast tray instead but we would certainly recommend The Highcliffe.

Beautiful location. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and cosy. A few minutes walk from the beach, we also saw dolphins in the bay. The breakfast tray was delicious. We would definitely book again.

Fabulous 3 night stay

We loved our 3 night stay. The self check in was straight forward. Our room was spacious & clean, we had a sea view and there was plenty of parking. The breakfast tray was sufficient. A short stroll to the beach where there was a lovely cafe/bar, open limited days/times. A fish & chip shop and a great pub are also close by. You need to book if you want to enjoy a meal at the pub. The food there was lovely. We will definitely be back

Easy no frills check in. Haven’t seen any staff, we didn’t need them during our 2 night stay. Codes to access doors.
Looks newly renovated. Room 7 on the 2nd floor has lovely view of the sea. Looks very clean and tidy but may need closer attention behind bedside lamps when cleaning as cobwebs seen.
Has clothes cupboard meant for children, adult hangers cant fit in it.
Lacking hooks to hang your jackets/ coats. No hooks in the bathroom to hang your robe.
Biggest issue is that you can hear your next door or below occupants’ conversations, and snoring at night.
Overall it was ok but couldn’t have stayed any longer than 2 nights because of the sound issue.

this former hotel remains a quality place which we recommend . it does not serve any meals but we knew that before we went . simple solution take cornflakes or whatever you fancy for breakfast .! good location five minutes from the beach/ very good pub - we will be back

Disturbed during our two nights

Disappointing, have stayed previously in a very quiet room and enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast now it’s just a cold breakfast tray.
This stay the room above occupant was pacing with floor boards creaking at all hours late at night, during the night and early morning. This over both our nights stay.

Outside of the property could use a bit of TLC but the inside was lovely clean and bright. Staff were friendly especially the lady at breakfast. Breakfast was fantastic and delivered piping hot!
Location is amazing just down the road from beautiful beaches and a nice walk along the coast you will find the waterfall. Fantastic place to visit!

Breakfast was delicious, bathroom immaculate, spacious room (we had Ocean View), lovely sea view obvs, relaxed atmosphere & clean room. Had everything we needed in the room too. Aberporth is a lovely town & great location to visit other harbour towns (St Davids recommended). Good coastal walks too.
The bathroom handle needs changing as squeaky, & doesn't close properly.

We thought the location is fantastic, so near the beautiful beach. Handy to have free parking. The staff were really friendly, polite and very helpful. I did think the hotel could do with updating. Carpets very worn, walls tired looking. Breakfast room very dull and uninspiring. Bedrooms clean but tired looking. Basic breakfast, was good but would have liked some more choice.
