It's a very nice hotel. Close the the city centre. I always live the breakfast. I usually go on national holidays, in which case they don't serve evening food. The rooms are basic, but spacious enough with large windows overlooking the city. I love coming back here. They have lots of different staff, and they've all been very friendly.

I think I've seen different people at the reception every time I went to this hotel, but each and every one is just as nice and helpful. The included breakfast and dinner are also great. So many different things to choose from and all delicious. I love going here.

Served an evening meal as part of room rate. No complaints as the food was good. Best to get down early as the heat lamps don't keep the food as warm as I like. However it was still good.

We stayed one night and had opted for a Premium room. The hotel has a nice lobby with a Mid Century vibe (nice set of vintage Fritz Hansen chairs). Staff was welcoming and check in was easy as we had prepaid. Our corner room was the largest we had during our trip to Norway. We also were excited that it had a bathtub!

It seemed the hotel was housing some workers with a local factory and breakfast and dinner was part of the “deal”. So all the guests benefited. We were first worried about noise, but there was no issues as they were up early.
Porsgrunn is a nice town on a river, with an interesting history as the center of Norwegian porcelain production. It is also the base for people interested in renting boats to explore the river and canals. We found it a surprise and glad we spent some time there.

They had not received my booking, but did manage to give me a room. Room was noisy (noise from ventilation in the bathroom), so i complained, and they gave me another room. Fire alarm went off at 5AM for nothing, which was a really annoying. For the rest, comfort, cleanliness and service is ok.

Nice hotel in great location
The hotel was a beautiful stately older hotel. We would have appreciated some air conditioning or fans but it worked out okay. We wanted to visit the Porsgrunn Factory and this was a perfect location for that. We were also able to walk to restaurants and a beautiful park area.

Your only choice in Porsgrunn is a fine choice
This really is the only hotel in Porsgrunn, so if you need to stay in Porsgrunn you'll probably be at Vic. The lobby is very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The building has a nice look, inside and out. Not fancy, but nice in an old-fashioned way. Our room was big, but as often is the case in Europe, the beds are really tiny. Minibar refrigerator had room for a couple of our own drinks to cool and there is a hot water heater and some coffee and tea.
The breakfast, which was included, is plentiful, a very nice selection of hot and (mostly) cold items. No complaints there.
The cleaning staff didn't clean the room perfectly (hair in bathroom, for example) and on the first day they left the door unlocked. We alerted the hotel staff and this did not happen again.
Many small restaurants and bars are walking distance from the hotel, I especially recommend Michel Seylmagers hus, a short walk from the hotel, by the river.

Rommene hadde eldre standard enn man fikk inntrykk av fra bildene. Stort oppholdsrom med god seng, men det var bare gammelt og slitt. Badet var ikke noe å skryte av, gammelt med badekar-dusj. Itillegg så var det veldig kaldt på badet. Ikke veldig komfortabelt. God frokost, hyggelig personal. Helt ok opplevelse, men jeg ville nokk betalt de ekstra kronene for å bo på Comfort Hotel rett ned i gaten

Supert hotell til en rimelig penge. Vi ble oppgradert til superior uten å be om det. Det var nydelig med god plass! Mulig å streame på TV er et stort pluss. Gammelt hotell, men pent oppusset rom. Bad gammelt, men helt greit. Vi manglet to ting for at alt hadde vært perfekt for oss: minibar for å oppbevare kald drikke og at frokost i helger varer lenger enn til kl 10.

Utrolig fint hotell. Nærliggende til restauranter og bryggen. Personalet var helt topp. Men.. dusjen lakk, kjøleskapet var ikke på og tok tid å kjøle ned (men forstår pga. Miljøvennlighet og alt det der), på varme dager burde de åpne vinduene og dra for gardinene før folk kommer ettersom det ikke var ac. Og kun enkeltsenger. De skulle stripse sengene, men hadde nok glemt det. Dette var en pirkette tilbakemelding. Ville uansett anbefalt hotellet på det sterkeste.
