We absolutely loved our stay at The Orchard House Inn! It was lovely and full of charm and character. Just what one would expect from Freeport, Maine! Our room was very comfortable, charming, and welcoming. The shower was a bit small but adequate. We stayed in the \"Downstairs King Bedroom\" (we called it the Book Room) and the bed was so comfortable! It was our best night's sleep on the entire trip!
The healthy complimentary breakfast was very good, which we enjoyed at one of the picnic tables under the lovely trees outside. The Maine blueberries, granola, vanilla Greek yogurt, excellent, dark, rich coffee, and baked goods were great. The fridge contained dairy and non-dairy creamer options.
The hammock and small deck off the inn were very relaxing and perfect for reading with a view of the orchard.
Bill and his mother were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful with local and regional destination recommendations. We really enjoyed chatting with them and felt so welcomed.
The Cafe was very charmingly updated with exposed wood beams and local paintings available for purchase. Loved the support of local artists. Bill's lemon scones were amazing! We enjoyed our lunch with fresh, local ingredients. My teen especially enjoyed the ice cream provided from a local dairy farm.
The village of Freeport is an easy, 2-minute drive. It's a bit far to walk but very accessible.
We will definitely stay at The Orchar House Inn and Cafe on our next trip to Freeport!
