We paid extra for a \"premium ensuite room\" but were very disappointed with what we got. The room was tiny and didnt even have a chair or television. We didnt even stay the night and checked out not long after checking in.

We took room with an ensuite. While they're very small, it does the job. There is no a/C which we knew about, but thankfully it was a cool night or it'd be very hot. Winter has heating. Now, if you can sleep through trains, yep more than one at night, then definitely stay here. It's a great old style Scottish themed pub, yes it's creaky and like a rabbit warren finding rooms (not that hard, good signage) and the food was very good. Great price and worth the visit.

Clean bedroom with ensuite and friendly staff at reception and the restaurant. The menu was varied and the food quality good, with a good range of non-alcoholic beers.

I slept with the window open as the plug-in fan could only be set for up to 2hrs; it would've been inconvenient to wake up too hot every 2 hrs and restart it. My room was above the car park and disco, which thankfully finished at 10pm on a Saturday.

We needed accommodation for one night to extend our stay in the Southern Highlands and this was the only place available — a decision we immediately regretted.
The room was disgusting with a seedy, unsettling vibe. During a severe heatwave, the room was boiling hot with no air conditioning and zero ventilation. Windows had no fly screens, so opening them meant letting in insects, but keeping them closed made the room unbearably and dangerously hot. There is absolutely no way someone could safely sleep in those conditions.
To make matters worse, there was a large spider with babies near the window, and the train line directly across the road is extremely loud, guaranteeing no sleep regardless.
After about an hour of sitting there sweating and trying to cool down with wet towels, we left. There was no chance we were staying the night.
This place is listed as 3 stars, which is wildly misleading. At best it’s a 1-star. There are no private bathrooms — only dirty communal toilets and showers, accessed via dark, unsettling hallways.
The owner refused to refund us, despite the room being spider-infested, around 40°C, and unsafe to sleep in.
Avoid at all costs. Zero stars if possible.

It's a lovely country hotel with a mix of ensuite rooms, and rooms that share a bathroom. It's obviously quite an old property and it would benefit from some modern touches such as a TV and a USB socket in the rooms. It has a fantastic beer garden out the back and a nice restaurant, which was absolutely packed - you get the feeling that half the population of Bundanoon eats there, in addition to the guests. My only grumbles are that (1) they don't do breakfast, so you have to head out into Bundanoon and (2) they were pumping music into the beer garden until quite late, and my room was right above it. All things considered though, I'd stay there again.

Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Easy check in and out. Tea, coffee and jug in room. Small communal kitchenette a few rooms down with microwave fridge etc. Communal tv room also. We opted for an ensuite and not shared bathroom this was very spacious. Restaurant for dinner was amazing. Easy parking on street.

If you like quiet, this place is not for you. Stayed a Wednesday night, and the boom from the Scottish bands drums reverberated through the room. Then music started till 11pm, which I assume was staff cleaning as none was playing before. There was lots of train noise, which i expected some of, but it was constant. The room was ok and the food was lovely.

We stayed in a refurbished room it was a little dark mattress was very soft heating not adequate.Fridge available for common use.Restaurant downstairs food very nice.Hotel is across from the railway line.Bundanoon is limited but a nice break away.We loved Fitzroy falls great walk along the rim.

A step into another era with its furnishings and focus on country hospitality. Clean comfortable with luxurious soft furnishings. Bedroom is for sleeping only. No tv but ample breakout space in lounges with tv and kitchen facilities on accommodation floor and downstairs. Fabulous food and service in dining room. Feels like a stay at someone’s country home. Step out of the ordinary.

It served it's purpose it was somewhere to sleep and have a shower. The ensuite was small in size a large person would not fit in, there was some splashes that had not been cleaned. But the major one is service. There was no one who offered anything, like carrying a suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. I'm 79.

Its a grand old hotel and I have stayed there before. This time there were a number of problems, I staid in a room without a bathroom, which I expected, but the bathrooms were not overly clean, there was no soap in one of them. They supply a jug at the end of the hall and teabags, with the cost I paid for this room these things should have been in the room, with a spoon (there were no spoons anywhere)Worst of all the room had an armchair and a desk but no seat to work from, also worst of all there was no sink in the room, regardless of whether there is bathroom or not, there should have been a sink iun the room. The room was heinously over priced for what it offered.Swimming in their pool is a treat, but that doesnt seem to be only exclusively for guests, most people using the pool were eating in the bar or outside area they werent guests.

The Bundanoon Hotel is great value, offering a fantastic experience at a very reasonable price. It's conveniently located close to the train station, making it easy to get to. As the hotel is withing close proximity of the Bundanoon train station, if you're a light sleeper then noise might be an issue, however this was not a problem for me and you can always bring earplugs.

The hotel is clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with the charm of a beautiful 1900's building.

There's a pub downstairs that serves reasonably priced, great-tasting food, which is a huge plus. The beer gardens are stunning and provide a lovely atmosphere.

Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance to local restaurants and shops.

I particularly liked the old-style vibe of the place, which adds to its unique character.

I didn't expect such warm weather in Bundanoon. The room was not air-conditioned and had no flow-through ventilation, so had to rely on a fan and open windows. Train noise was excessive and the room didn't cool down - so not the best experience. Room is basic but comfortable - just would not stay again in hot weather.

Despite confirming that we would be accommodated away from any hotel noise we were given room 36.
Immediately above the saloon entrance. Noise until midnight. Loud foul language. Smoke seeping up through the ceiling and into our room. I attempted to contact management. Nothing. Next morning, the reception was shut’ please see bar staff ‘. Bar shut.
Having stayed here many times under the old management, we won’t bother the place again!
It still needs an upgrade with friendly showers ( and staff ). What a joke and blight on the Bundanoon village!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the decor warm and inviting, (I particularly enjoyed hanging out in the guest lounge). Nice, quiet location and fresh air in comparison to Sydney. The food was generous and fresh, and chefs and waitresses were also kind and friendly.
Was easy to connect to wifi, but we kept getting 'unsafe connection' notifications to otherwise safe websites which was a bit annoying. Other than that and some drunk people and bottles left outside, we really enjoyed our stay.

Our experience with the staff at Bundanoon Hotel was outstanding. They were very kind, polite, helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate us. For the price, this is a great place to stay. It's an older building so it has a historical, quaint charm. The outdoor pools are great in summer but are not heated.

If you are taller than 6ft, you may band your head under staircases or in doorways.

The cleanliness of rooms and amenities for always very goodz throughout our stay.

The rooms lask sound proofing so the quality of your sleep is at the mercy of the behaviour of other guests, unfortunately... 2/3 nights we were lucky!

The hotel is adjacent a railway, so there is train noise but it's really not that bad.

Dining in the ground floor restaurant was superb and we tipped generously. Really great kitchen and professional staff!

I'd definitely stay here again, it was very good value for money.

A wonderful venue. Rooms fresh and clean. Even rooms with shared facilities are easy, clean and provided with all you need.
There is a small common dining and tv room on each floor, equiped with a fridge, kettle and tea and coffe facilities. The bar and dining options are generous.

Best thing about the place was the fantastic restaurant with its superb, well-priced menu (outstanding steaks). Accommodation-wise, just a basic room, with the bathroom down the hall. No TV or aircon - only an oil heater (though it kept the room nice and warm). But adequate for a night if you're just passing through.

The hotel has been well maintained and is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the best G&T in the bar and the staff were friendly and efficient .
Reasonable rates and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends who enjoy walking and visiting the quiet tranquility of a small town in the beautiful Southern Highlands.

Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Our room was very basic but comfortable there were 3 of us. I requested a room with an ensuite and i can honestly say i have never seen what must have been originally a broom cupboard it was the smalliest ensuite i have ever seen i feel the Guiness Book of records may be interested if there is a category on ensuites. Also because of the size of the ensuite no soap was provided i dont think it could be squeezed in.

We’ve stayed in Bundanoon many times and this is still the best accommodation option. Has a great restaurant and cosy cocktail bar, easy safe parking and a comfortable (albeit old) property. We were given one of the larger rooms (and we always book a room that contains our own bathroom) and were quite comfortable.
Not the cleanest place in the world and the extra quilt in the wardrobe needed a wash and there was quite a lot of shower residue - but we’ve both got good immune systems and a forgiving attitude.
The staff are also very friendly and helpful.
Overall an above average choice that ticks all our boxes and we’ll certainly continue to stay at the old Bundanoon Hotel.

This is a typical old country pub, albeit updated in some areas such as a few ensuite rooms (such as we had). The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The room and ensuite were comfortable but not what you could call spacious - queen size bed with a 2 door built in wardrobe, a desk (or perhaps small dressing table - I forget which) and a couple of chairs. The downside? The room was at the front of the hotel and only about 15 or 20 metres from the main, and busy, Sydney to Melbourne rail line - ideal for train-spotters but not for sleeping. The bistro food was pretty good, popular and noisy with people enjoying themselves. Prices were reasonable although the glass of wine was expensive for what it was. While only giving it an overall Average Rating, I would happily stay here again........ if there was a similar room available at the back of the hotel, away from the railway line.

Lady at reception demanded credit card and took it out of sight to do whatever with. Don't think she skimmed it but who knows. Put us in possibly the worst room - at the start of the corridor with literally everyone walking past. Door was a glass windowed door that had white paint over it that allowed in light. Very gauzy curtains. Crash and bash of glass bottles into the recycling bin happened till at least 1130pm. People walking back to their rooms were trying to be quiet but still woke us up. Not recommended unless you ask for a room at the back of the corridor, (say room 57). We were in room 45. No fan and very simple but relatively clean otherwise.
