Booked 1 night stay here during our trip. Money for good value! This is an excellent stay when you are on the budget and looking an easy going vibe (not expecting luxury nor modern setting), appreciate absolutely hearty delightful breakfast, lovely riverside atmosphere and a bit of a fun local pub culture downstairs!

We reserved online but paid our stay upon checking in. The staff are attentive and professional who showed us into our room making sure we were settled. The room was clean and spacious with really comfortable beds, a private bathroom and good shower. There's plenty parking space and stunning views to the river with swans and other birds on the water front. We were absolutely blown away by delicious breakfast experience which I highly recommend to enjoy and I take the owner of the Inn was serving us himself. We enjoyed some lovely chats with him just before leaving and got really interesting stories and tips on a scenic drives on the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Bed comfy, unfortunately they had a problem with showers which did not work for one day. They handled the problem brilliantly. I was given a complimentary dinner. Much appreciated. Food great and breakfast scrumptious. It was like home from home. Thank you.

This is a cutesy bed and breakfast! The staff was very kind. We checked in on a Saturday night in the evening (which we recognize is always busy) and they did the best they could. The facility is being remodeled, but the stairs to get up to the rooms is tiny and hard to carry large suitcases. The walls are very thin and our bed was creaky. Along with that, the neighborhood teens/young adults showed up to party at the bar and were very loud and rude and it was hard to fall asleep. The three star review doesn’t account for this, just something to be aware of. This is a great pit stop place if you’re passing by and need somewhere to stay for the night.

We had a wonderful time at Ouvane Falls. We had 2 teenagers with us and they had no complaints. The rooms were above the pub but surprisingly quiet. Room was simple- 1 double bed and 2 singles in one space. We had no issues. The carpet is a bit worn, it is not a fancy place but it worked very well for our travel plans. One note, there is a staircase to get to the rooms. Great view and seating out the back of the pub.
We ate dinner in the pub, food was really good and regulars were eating and celebrating birthdays, so you felt warm and welcomed. We also managed to book a night where there was a dance- we watched some amazing Irish dancing! Breakfast was just us, and delicious. There wasn't a menu- we had a few cold items and traditional Irish scrambled eggs and toast, which was just perfect. For our family, a great stay and great memories.

This place looks and feels like it has not been updated in over a decade. While the restaurant staff were friendly and the food was good, there was a distinct lack of organization to our check in and check out. We paid upon check-in.

Definitely falsely advertised as a quality hotel. This is a restaurant /bar with rooms immediately upstairs. Filthy carpets, sticky doors and terrible smells.

The knob on the shower broke off in my hand and just dribbled. There was so much built up dust or mould in the room that I had to use my rescue inhaler for an asthma attack.

Despite the place having overnight guests, the bar was booked for an 18th birthday party with a DJ that was so loud, we could hear the lyrics clearly upstairs, and it did not stop until 1AM. There was no warning that this would happen, nor opportunity to change our booking when we arrived.

It's been 24 hrs since I messaged the property and no reply. I don't understand how this place is allowed to call itself a hotel.

Kind of run down, carpets kind of dirty, beds were clean, staff were good, there was a nice view of the bay on one side, but the road was right on the other side with some loud traffic. It was sufficient for our needs for arriving late and just needing a place to sleep and breakfast was hot food made to order and cold options, but overall I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone except for one night stopover.

The rooms and entry way could use a little TLC, but the staff and the ppl were so amazing and accommodating! When I arrived, I had to go into the bar to find a staff person to check me in. The young woman was friendly and asked me to sign in to a spiral notebook. She showed me to my room and then returned to the bar. The hotel itself was pretty rundown. The carpet was filthy, especially on the stairs. The hallway had an unpleasant odor that smelled like vomit. In our room we discovered a crib which we didn't need. The room was dated but the bedding appeared clean. I needed some additional assistance for a personal matter, from the attendant, and she did go above and beyond to help me out which I appreciated immensely. There is a complimentary full-service breakfast served in the morning which was a nice amenity. There was only one staff member there doing it all. He was waiting the tables, cooking the food and managing any check-outs. I had to wait from him to finish waiting tables to pay my bill. There really isn't a front desk, so I had to follow him into the bar to settle my tab. Overall it was a safe place with hard working staff. The hotel was somewhat rundown, outdated and dirty. I wouldn't stay here again.

Good location, nice staff but room for improvement

The pair in charge of this property were very pleasant and the property is well situated between Glengarriff and Bantry. The cooked breakfast was quite good and the support staff were friendly and helpful. That’s the good.

The music played downstairs is far too loud for the paper thin walls. The music did not go off until close to 1am on our second night making sleeping an impossibility. The rooms have inadequate tea/coffee facilities and there was no hot water when we arrived for check in in the early evening. Check in also isn’t until 6pm which is not so convenient. The rooms are OK but definitely in need of modernisation. The place has heaps of potential but definitely need a little investment.

This is a convenient hotel directly off the road in. It was the least expensive accommodations available and the best part of the stay was our view. I would only book if I was on a tight budget or it was our only option. The rooms were dated and the check-in at the pub was not clearly stated leaving us to do a bit of searching for that.

The hotel needs renovating but it wouldn’t take much to get it back to glory . Our room was lovely with a huge window overlooking a really pretty lawn onto the River. The restaurant wasn’t operating but the bar staff really accommodating for us to bring take away to it . The breakfast , included , was great and the breakfast chef lovely .Glengarriff is a much better option for cute pubs and cafes but Ouvane Falls was very cheap so I’d recommend for a different experience .

Not enough room to say it sorely needs updating

There was a huge crowd (a wedding) and a VERY noisy singer so we couldn’t be heard when trying to book in. No pre-printed checkin-in form, they wrote down questions on a piece of paper. Not a good start

“We might be able to do food” was the reply when asked about the restaurant. The wedding obviously had the food and a shrug of the shoulders was all we got when we said it advertised as a restaurant. We went round the corner for a lovely meal. If they can’t provide food then don’t book rooms out assuming people don’t want food

Nowhere for toiletries as there was no shelf in the bathroom (a small tray on top of the toilet)

Carpets up the stairs and in the room badly needed extra cleaning or replacing

The wardrobe was missing a door or it wasn’t designed for a door

Wi-fi didn't work properly. You connect in the room (Topfloor) but in the dining room there was no connection, even though “Dining” network was available

The open window had a huge cobweb

Window area had bare plaster where paint had flaked off.

A small pillow (singular) was paper thin and nowhere near white

The postcard size “towel” for the shower was best used for standing on

Nowhere to hang clothes in the bathroom so you leave them on the floor outside

No curtains on the window so people on the public terrace see straight into the room

Bathroom door really creaked like mad, great when you wake your wife at night

Double socket was almost down to the level of the worktop so we couldn’t plug a hair dryer

The rooms were not cleaned every day. The door to the balcony did not lock and was accessible from other rooms. The check in was at the bar downstairs and it took about 5 minutes to figure out where to check in. The parking lot was small and always filled so parking was very difficult at times. Would not recommend staying here. It does not seem as if the owners care about the hotel section at all

The check in was very confusing…I had paid for the room online through Expedia but had to pay again at the property. The girl who checked us in told me that Expedia would refund me in a few days as that payment was taken as a security deposit so that if we didn’t turn up the property wouldn’t lose out. Leaking toilet, disgusting smell, avoid!

Dirty toilet water leaking out on arrival. Told owners, and we were given a towel to absorb it as it was too late to fix. Leak got worse until, they questioned how often we were flushing the toilet. We were given a small container (picture) for the dirty water. It was still spilling on the floor and stank.
Was fixed the next day, but the room still stank of sewage. No room change, no discounts, barely an apology. Heard others complaining of similar at breakfast too.
A truly disgusting stay. Will never go near Ouvane Falls again.

The property is about 3mls from any restaurant and the road back to Bantry is unlit and not pedestrian paved in places. Local taxi unable to collect for 2hrs and the local restaurants apparently don’t offer deliveries.
Staff unhelpful and more interested in drinking with the ‘locals’

We booked our “sea view” rooms three months in advance, while upon arrival the staff was surprised saying “you have one room”. After we demonstrated our receipt, wow, what a surprise - “we cannot find the key deem the second room”… we got the noisiest room, looking at the crossroad.
In the morning, during check out two ladies and their assistant were not able to make the credit card machine functioning during 40 minutes

Check in at 6pm was difficult and despite 2 emails to the Ouvane, we received no reply and had to take a chance on being able to arrive earlier; when I raised this on arrival the reply was a grunt. The room was very cold and no one came back on my request for some heat. Zero privacy was provided by the huge windows facing the car park and the main road without even net curtains. Breakfast was served on the basis of ‘do you want food?’ there was no menu, vegan or vegetarian options (let alone gluten/ dairy free) and continental breakfast was cornflakes (no sign of a croissant or scone). The style of service at breakfast with bowls of minimal choice of edibles half covered with cling film and no milk on the tables left a lot to be desired and as for the warm hospitality and welcome Ireland is famous for; it simply wasn’t there, rather their model was based on Fawlty Towers. For €180 for one night it was very overpriced.

The staff were lovely. There is a hotel shuttle into town which is convenient as the town is close but not walking distance. I did not like the 6pm check in but knew that in advance. The grounds are lovely with a gurgling stream feeding into a lake. It’s very picturesque and worth a late check in.

Very friendly lady checked us in, stairs to rooms filthy, adequate room, bathroom was not clean, mould around bath, had to ask for cups etc for room. We had a balcony room, very dirty, lots of cigarette butts.
Breakfast adequate, had to take sugar, milk from other table. Beautiful site, could be a lovely place, certainly not a €120 room, more €60 to €80
