This resort was a disappointment. Everything was a bit old and tired, not the \"resort\" experience we had in mind. And it is really isolated from everything that we wanted to do, which meant long drives to the locations for hikes and attractions. Finally, the staff seemed quite indifferent, not at all engaged.

Beautiful serene property right off the ocean and a river. The ocean is not a beach for swimming but the resort has a pool. Peaceful lush environment. An amazing staff all around. Sernita was very friendly and always went out of her way to satisfy our needs. Ellen was very knowledgeable about the island’s plants and allowed us to harvest to make our own unique teas. We also received world class massages. The one downside would be the food. Average at best. All in all a beautiful island and it was the perfect getaway.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is away from the hustle and bustle, making it very relaxing and peaceful. The beach is not one to spend a lot of time on, as it has a lot of seaweed and is home to the turtle breeding program, but the pool is great for a swim. The food from the restaurant was very good with plenty of options, including local cuisine. Although it is not easy to explore on foot from the hotel, there were a number of trips you can take and the hotel driver was really friendly and informative about the island. The evenings brought a few bugs, but listening to the sea and wildlife was heaven. There is a great startup rum distillery 5 minutes away, which raise money for the turtle program. The spa is also a must as well - a great way to end our holiday.

Well staffed and beautiful resort..it has easily accessible amenities nearby and within driving distance. It is a great place for couples, families and individuals to relax and unwind. Great staff, beautiful location, spa treawnt by the river..nature is right at your fingertips best asset!!

Great food. I’m a vegetarian and my husband is a semi meat eater. We were very pleased with the food variety offered.
Let me say…we have been living in Dominica for two months…it’s been a challenge. We came to Rosalie Bay Resort primarily for hot water and reliable AC…we got both and much much more!!

This is our third stay here and Rosalie Bay’s location in the rain forest and by a turtle nesting beach and nature trail are part of its charm. One feels truly remote here. We love the gym to workout in with birds flying in to join and the pool which feels like a rainforest pool wuth its dark colors. We enjoy all amenities and feel truly like we are a part nature at this hotel. We also appreciate the sustainability practices of ghe hotel not handing out wasteful travel sundries, not leaving towels out at the pool for people to use barely once and then launder (but instead use for the duration of one’s stay, and minimal use of plastic and plastic bags which hotels should be banned from handing out.

I personally thought that RBER was a very special place. The abundance of vibrant and beautiful plant life that covered all of the property was extremely pleasant. The vibe was so tranquil, peaceful, and relaxing.

The fact that the decently wide Rosalie River is directly to the North of the property and meets the Atlantic Ocean directly at the East of the property is something special. For me, being able to constantly see a point where the river meets the ocean is meaningful. And then that the beach along that shore is traditionally where 3 to 4 species of sea turtles annually come to lay their eggs, I mean what more of a unique experience could you ask for?

There is a fully equipped gym and a solid pool to swim in and relax by. You feel like you have a lot of privacy, but at the same time, the actual grounds are relatively small and all the amenities are within a 5 minute walk no matter where you stay.

The restaurant was also great! Nearly every meal I had over 8 days was at that Leatherback Restaurant. And honestly, the quality and freshness was always present and there was easily enough variety where I didn't get tired of it.

Lastly, the staff is what really sets this place apart! All the women at the restaurant are like the soul. Odette and the girls at the Front Desk are so incredibly helpful. And I must absolutely highlight the Ultimate Tour Guide, Zahir, who was able to show me some stunning natural locations over 6 unforgettable tours. A memorable stay indeed!

The grounds are stunningly beautiful. Almost worth 10/10 in itself but a couple of things are below par.
The pool area is neglected and needs some investment, eg new lounger cushions that can withstand the rain.
The food is hit and miss. Breakfast generally very good but a bit chaotic. It really lacks attention to detail by some experienced food and beverage eyes!
Although they reply to all ratings it seems to me no actions have been taken regarding some complaints. Eg I still got plastic straws!

The staff at this resort are all marvelous and the rooms are terrific. However the location was just too remote for me...with no restaurants, supermarkets, shops, gas stations anywhere nearby. Also, the road between this resort and Roseau is in very poor condition and is dangerous.

Room basic, safe not working, no master key, no hairdrier, no medical kit. Website states no plastic straws but in use even after telling them, band by Dominica gov. Limited menu and then could not provide choice, did not have ginger ale. Waited an hour for hot breakfast cereal. Only filtered coffee no cappuccino etc.
Eco resort! Gardeners using 2 stroke noisy blowers why not battery. Plastic on beach, could ask customers to pick up a piece to help eco!

Amenities, food, service all well below standard.
At $450 per night when there is no fresh supplies of sugar and no milk for your coffee you have to wait 20 minutes for service and then you are charged for the milk!
The kitchen could not cook simple things like Chicken or a fried egg.
It was so bad we had to leave after two nights, forfeiting the third night which was not refundable at $450.

Our stay at the Rosalie Beach Eco Resort and Spa was generally very good.
The environment was serene, the staff very courteous particularly Surnita and helpful in many ways and the turtle watching experience fantastic.
The room was well-maintained and spacious, however, the door lock was not maintained…initially difficult to open. That was resolved.
However, we believe that there can be improvements in certain aspects:
The area at the suites 601- 604 is poorly lit…there’s a pole that once had a light and it needs to be restored.
The grounds need more regular cutting…too many areas with high grass
Better use can be made of the vast area between suites 601-604 and 500-503..maybe some benches and umbrellas
There should be regular security walks particularly in the aforementioned areas and for guests wanting to watch the turtles at night
The dining menu is extremely limited…we believe that the local dishes should be promoted both for breakfast and dinner.
The Front Desk staff should be proactive in giving information on sites to visit e.g. the Emerald Pool that nearby.

The property is nestled away on the country side of the island. We stayed in the honeymoon suite only steps away from the ocean . The pool is made of stones and is refreshing , especially with a cocktail. We scheduled a couples massage with hot rocks and let the stress of the World melt away . What a lovely retreat with Nature ! We will be back soon!

This is a beautiful and quiet property. The on-site restaurant provides a delicious breakfast. It is about an hour's drive from most attractions but is much more peaceful than staying in Roseau. Like most beaches in Dominica, this one is not swimable. This property is relatively isolated, so we ate most of our dinners there as well. The food is tasty and portions are large.

Not an Eco Resort – Misleading & Poorly Maintained

We expected a peaceful, eco-friendly retreat but were disappointed. Despite its branding, Rosalie Bay cuts down healthy trees for views and runs loud maintenance early in the morning. The “eco resort” and “spa” feel is nonexistent.

Rooms & Maintenance Issues:
Rooms were not as advertised—rusty fixtures, unreliable A/C, inconsistent hot water, and possible mold. We developed a cough that worsened when the A/C ran. Noise was another issue, with kids running above our room at 6:30 AM. Abandoned buildings added to the neglected feel.

Terrible Breakfast Service:
The website shows a menu, but guests are pushed to an underwhelming buffet. My husband was yelled at for asking to order off the menu. Staff aggressively chased guests to sign bills for included meals, seemingly just for tips. Many guests avoided tipping due to poor service.

Positives:
•Beautiful grounds & wildlife
•Excellent dinner service
•Nice heated pool
•They care for stray animals & rescue turtles

How They Can Improve:
•Maintain rooms, fix A/C, clean filters, and address rust/mold
•Improve breakfast service—let the dinner manager train staff
•Address noise issues & provide accurate online room photos
•Fully embrace their eco-resort branding in all aspects

Verdict:
This resort doesn’t live up to its promises. Poor service, misleading marketing, and lack of maintenance make it a frustrating stay. We wouldn’t return unless there are major changes.

I really enjoyed my stay here at Rosalie Bay. Their grounds are beautiful although they could maintain landscape a bit better say the labyrinth and along ocean. The biggest disappointment is the room which was dull and dreary lacking the Caribbean vibe, window did not open which really forced me to use A/C

We enjoyed our relaxing stay. The reflexology massage was amazing. The food was good although the menu was limited this time. We also had issues as our rooms did not have sockets for our adapter which meant my mum could not use her breathing machine at night and no adaptors were available. The overflowing bins were a bit of an eyesore as the rest of the grounds were very well kept. This is my second stay and I know we will be back.

A good experience with no so good food

The room was large and spacious and as pictured with good AC The resort was quiet and isolated which made for a rest full stay. They were able to setup tours from the resort as well as airport transportation.

The downside to the resort is that is only 1 restaurant on site. The food was poor to average and very overpriced with no fresh seafood options so bring lots of snacks. Half of the staff were friendly and the a few seemed to be annoyed with helping

This is an absolutely beautiful and special place. Our room/suite was huge inside with a nice sitting area, a gigantic bathroom and very large bedroom. Wraparound balcony.
The beach faces east to the Atlantic and mostly no one is there, outrageously gorgeous. Sunrise is spectacular.
The restaurant has very nice freshly made food, very thoughtfully prepared, tasty. Less local-style cuisine than we would prefer and not a super wide array of options for vegetarians staying for 5-6 days but still very enjoyable and they are very accommodating. Fantastic included breakfasts. Pool is great, small but few people using it, and very nice, clean, good temperature.
The grounds are beautiful, lush green with flowers, and the sounds (birds, frogs etc) are fabulous. The river is very pretty going down to the sea. The gym is cute and we did use it. There is no AC in it and the humidity is intense to work out in but I was glad for the opportunity.
This is not the place for people looking to be around populated-type activities like going out to eat, and not easily accessible to the west coast tourist attractions. It’s also not a luxury-type resort with fancy-place vibes. This is for you if you are looking for remote, quiet, reasonably-priced real nature spot that is unique and special and has a local feel to it.
Clean and comfortable and incredibly peaceful with stunning natural beauty.

Great property and staff were very accommodating. The front desk called me when I landed to let me know the kitchen was closing and if we wanted pizza since we would arrive late. The pizza was waiting in our room. And on the last night (Christmas Eve) we asked the staff in the restaurant if we can get some local food. They were so happy to oblige. Great Island, great resort, great people!

Beautiful location and hotel. Nice restaurant, however dinner menu is a bit limiting, especially for vegetarians, offering only 1 vegetarian entree. The menu doesn’t rotate during a week, so if you have a long stay, it gets boring unless you go eat other places. Breakfast was very nice. Staff nice and helpful.

very nice property, there is a pool, a spa and a gym. Not much activities to do there and around the area but theres a big landscape for creating your own picnic, etc. the food was ok, not much of a variety mainly caribbean cusine. The staff at the resturant and receptions were great. Overall i will rate 7.5/10. every resort has its pro and cons depending on a person's expection. will i recommend? yes!

Beautiful site on a cove facing the Atlantic. The staff are great and very knowledgeable and helpful. Leatherback turtles nest in the cove and the staff work with a conservation group to facilitate turtle watching. Excellent place to base our visit in Dominica.
