This hotel is located perfectly right in the heart of Broadbeach. The moment you walk out the door , you have eateries, restaurants, bars , clubs even a supermarket & chemist ALL within 200m !! The rooms are exceptionally clean, very friendly & helpful staff. A definite must stay if you're traveling on the Gold Coast. Will definitely visit again some day.

The wave is certainly not a 4 star property so this in itself was misleading. Most three star hotels have a coffee machine, we booked a few different style apartments, no coffee machines in both the three and two bedroom ocean facing rooms (yes you can go and purchase nice coffee nearby, which we did every day, but when you travel with kids it’s nice to make one decent coffee in your room) also amenities supplied were very basic - no nice teas, just one variety, instant coffee, basic tiny body wash/shampoo, I would expect a 4 star hotel to be affiliated with a decent brand to provide nice amenities!
Rooms smelt of mildew or bleach. Fridge didn’t work, this was rectified, but very annoying having to spend the time replacing items that went off. Old facilities, rooms are shabby, uncomfortable beds/mattresses. The outdoor lounge on the balcony had one tiny cushion, not suitable seating/dining on the balcony.
Very slow check in process on a busy day with a conference.

Pros - the staff were nice and accommodating, the pool area on level 4 is great, as are the bbq facilities surrounding the pool. I believe this area has been recently renovated, if the rest of the hotel had the same care as this area it could be a true 4 star hotel.

Enjoyed staying at The Wave Resort - location was excellent (only a few minutes walk from the Conference Centre, the beach) with all of the shops and restaurants you will ever need just downstairs. The refurbished pool on Level 4 is fabulous too. I would stay here again and recommend to others. The building works next door was loud, but this is not the fault of the resort.

Superb location - restaurants, cafes and shopping centre at your doorstep. Pacific Fair only a short walk away. Beaches close by. We had a memorable time. Would definitely come back to The Wave Resort.

Room 1002 decor is ordinary, dated, sparse and lacks character, decorating and warmth.
No daily room cleaning of beds and bathroom
Hallways felt old, need fresh paint and decorating
Shower overfloods the bathroom and is dangerous
No replacement of shampoo and conditioners
Staff are officious and unhelpful
I travel around the country to play in bridge championships and stay at numerous hotels and this was sub par.

Staff were friendly, the area and the location was really good, however the unit we stayed at had the furniture outdated, specially bedding, mattress was very uncomfortable!
Also had lots of unwelcomed crawling guests which was a turn off!
Pest control before high season would've been good!

When I opened the entrance doors to go to the lifts some young people with alcohol came in to sit in the lobby area,nothing much I could do?
Other than that it’s a nice hotel in a great location.

Overall we had a great stay at The Wave Resort.

We were in a 3 bedroom apartment with two young children under 4 years old. Was super spacious inside, massive balcony area including two seating areas for meals and three lounge chairs, well equipped kitchen, one ensuite and another bathroom with shower and bath tub and some nice beach views.


Things to note:

Construction happening next door which you are advised at booking. Not too bad of noise if on higher floors but does limit your usage of the balcony unless your happy to have a view with a noise. They start working from 6am.

Both pool areas need some upgrading and maintenance. Pools are nice however there are loose or missing tiles that need some maintenance.

Asked for a late check out of an additional hour was told only 30 mins could be given which we were greatful however this wasnt communciated to the cleaners who were knocking at our door not long after 10am.

Some of the furniture inside the apartment is ageing and could do with an upgrade.

You can hear noise from outside at night e.g. people, music and cars however this didnt bither any of us as we were able to sleep through it.

It’s a lovely property, staff are really nice, and the room was very clean. There are lots of restaurants nearby and supermarket is across the mall. We have stayed here a number of times now as it is just wonderful. If you have a room with water views, the sun will wake you up early as it is bright, fine if you have kids but maybe annoying if you don’t. There is some construction going on next door, wasn’t too bad on the level we were on. Would probably be annoying on lower levels.

However, an unpleasant stay for my family and I due to the apartment being located above the nightclub area of Broadbeach and lack of unit soundproofing.
Unfortunate and unprofessional response from reception when this issue was raised the next morning.

Stayed in a recently renovated apartment on the 21st floor. Beds were super comfortable, the view was great and the apartment perfect for our family with three, active tween boys.
Apartment is really well located to restaurants and shops, close to the beach and supermarket.
There is a tram that runs straight to Surfers.
Loved our stay, would stay again!

Unfortunately there is a significant construction site right next door (Neicon Plaza) and the noise every day except Sunday was unbearable - and it started close to 6am each day including Saturday! I don't think the rooms facing the construction site should be charged at the rate that they were, with a loading for the Broadbeach Blues festival. We could not sit on the balcony, it was too noisy. Other than that, it was a sensational location. There were no tissues either, which is a minor thing I know, but just a small touch which would not go astray.

The property was not that clean and the room had cockroaches in it also the street out front was noisy with hoons all night and out the other side construction started one Morning at 6am and then the Monday at 5.30 and we were told it would not be before 7am. Unacceptable and don’t think we can stay again as noise was a huge problem

This was a lovely place to stay at and brilliant location. I’d say the reception and booking team need a bit more work with communication towards people who book a stay with them, they definitely lack in that department . It took two weeks for them to confirm a simple airport transfer and I had to repeatedly contact them even on the day we were leaving as there was no communication. The room itself was very nice, the only downside was the blinds they had gaps between each blind that were quite wide so when the sun rose it was very light in the room from 4:30-5am everyday. Also the window in the bathroom is probably not needed as yet again if someone is trying to go to sleep and someone needs to shower you can easily see the light and wakes you automatically. These were the downsides. The rest was great, perfect location and easy access to restaurants, supermarket, public transport. The gym and pool were also good as well as the BBQ area.

Our family of 6 stayed on the 30th floor in a 3 B/R which had a large wrap around balcony providing mind blowing views on both sides (Ocean and City). The roof-top pool & spa are on the 34th floor with the same amazing views with BBQ facilities & plenty of sitting area. The roof-top pool is small but good for kids IF travelling outside of school holidays otherwise I can see it getting quite busy.

And the convenience of having all the shops and a variety of restaurants literally at your doorstep was just perfect. The beach is hardly 5 mins walk.

Surfers Paradise is $20 bucks in Maxi taxi
Trams are also nearby that can take you in to the heart of Surfers Paradise

Overall it was an amazing experience and we will definitely revisit
