The hotel is 300 meters from the closest parking, over cobble stones. The parking garage was full on the day we arrived and we had to try and find alternative parking. We are in France for a month and this was the first hotel where we were not warmly welcomed.

It is a beautiful hotel overlooking the port and Sea. Staff was incredibly friendly. Nice indoor swimming pool and bar/restaurant. Decor was modern. Only problem is hotel is difficult to get to with luggage. Parking is far and not easy to wheel suitcases to hotel.

When service is bad or nonexistent

Zero responsiveness from the front desk staff. We called and left a message to ask where to park our car and never received a call back. When I asked the staff, the woman became defensive and said that I never called. Another front desk clerk said she will look for a nearby restaurant for dinner and called back after an hour and a half, close to dinner time. Everyone from the staff seemed completely checked out.

Hotel is a classy European hotel. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed, comfy bed and quality linens and pillows. Beautiful view of harbor.
Breakfast had a quality assortment of homemade breads, eggs, juices and coffee set in a beautiful space overlooking harbor. Wished we had stayed longer.

We had a large room with a beautiful terrasse overlooking the ocean. The king size bed was super comfortable ! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant, again with a superb view overlooking the ocean! Everything we ordered was excellent. The portions are huge. We should have followed our instinct and order an appetizer and just one main plate to share.

The only drawback is the difficult access to the main entrance of the hotel. After turning around in circles with the car, we finally came to a dead-end road where we took out the luggage, walked to the hotel and went back parking at the Citadelle main public parking above. We did not find any mention of this difficult access from the hotel check-in instructions or in past reviews, so I thought i’d mention it for other travellers.

The staff were so kind and accommodating to us arriving late. They went out of their way to provide a meal and provide good conversation as well. The views from the rooms with a balcony are beautiful as well and the hotel is close to the lift down to the harbor. Parking is a public lot a short walk away. I highly recommend a stay here.

Beautiful hotel with some logistical challenges

The hotel itself was very nice. Great location, bed was very comfortable, great view.

However. Parking is stated as available within roughly 500-600 feet. This may be the case, but there are a number of stairs and the hotel is difficult to reach with baggage. You cannot reach the location directly by car to drop bags off as it is a pedestrian only area.

Additionally, we arrived late and there are no open parking garages in the aera after 10 pm! The attendant politely apologized but offered no solutions. We ended up having to make multiple trips with luggage from several blocks away, up multiple sets of stairs. Then we had to park around 1 mile away at the train station.

Great hotel, beautiful location, very problematic if you have heavy baggage and or driving - especially if arriving late.

The location and service at this hotel truly make this one of the best hotel stays we’ve had. The staff upgraded us to a junior suite as we were celebrating a delayed mini honeymoon and it was a lovely room. The communication prior to our arrival was excellent and personal with an email asking us for our details and requirements and then following this up with a personal email and phone call. I cannot fault this hotel and I highly recommend it

Excellent location even if you don’t have a room with a sea view - which is well worth the extra. Good breakfast. Carpeting in bedroom cheap, nasty and badly fitted over a lumpy floor. Nice sized bathroom spoiled by a silly little shower. Hammam out of order. Main public area of bar and lounge closed to residents due to “private function” with no alternative - very poor, especially that this is not disclosed at time of reservation.

Superb! The remodel on this hotel is beautiful, and the location couldn't be better. We had a view of the harbor from our balcony, and right out the front door were fantastic restaurants, with the main esplanade just two blocks away. Excellent modern bathroom, and luxury bed linens, with roomy closet. The front desk could not have been more attentive or helpful, and made the best restaurant recommendation we had in two weeks of traveling: eat at Alba! (We also loved Le Cheval Blanc 1/2 block away for dinner). Treat yourself to this fantastic hotel. Highly recommend.

Great hotel at the edge of Bastia Citadel with superb views of the harbour. We came a little early to leave our cases but we were very kindly given our room which turned out to be a huge penthouse suite. It had fantastic views, a great Aircon, and spacious comfortable lounge area with a very comfortable sofa. In fact all the furniture was exceptionally stylish. It even had an electric Roland piano which was superb. In fact I could only class this appartement in the "Fabulous" league- a title not easily earnt. The reception staff and the night porter were extremely helpful. The citadel is up a bit of a hill. The secret to getting to it is the Avenue Paoli which is a long slow ascent and easy for anyone. Stay up when you get to the end of the road and you will find the citadel without a further climb. The citadel area has quite a few restaurants- probably six and we tried three, all having delicious recipes. The port is a quick walk down some steps and there are many further restaurants there. Trains are reliable but rare to anywhere but Ajaccio and start early because of heat probably. Buses were very few out of season. Access by taxi would leave a 100 yard flat walk with a few single steps as cars cannot get around the citadel. So a great hotel and excellent for a few days stay.

The finale of a circuit of Corsica, very good hotel in citadel with excellent vista of harbour.

We took precaution of walking there before attempting to drive - its within the pedestrian warren of citadel, no parking, and nearest unloading point 200 yards away.

Lovely spacious room, pity we had to hurry away for early ferry and didn't get to sample breakfast & other amenities.

This is the best place to stay in Bastia!

Everything was perfect! The room was spacious and offered an incredible view (and my room wasn't considered to even have "the view.") The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We even got a drive to our ferry in the morning. The breakfast buffet was delicious and is situated outside overlooking the sea. Out of the five hotels that I have stayed at in France over the past two months, this hotel is by far the best!

Very nice hotel in the Citadel with great views across the port. Only accessible by foot although there is a valet service if you do not arrive too late, which we did. This was fine for us but if you had very heavy bags or it was raining, it could be difficult. The staff do everything they can to help, including the night receptionist coming to collect us from the car park and helping with our bags.

Impressed by the hotel itself, totally renovated with very modern facilities, the staff is wonderful, the location is perfect. Note that the hotel is in pedestrian area so you can not access it by car , you can park your car nearby and walk about 5-10 minutes to get there. They don't really have someone to help you if you have lots of luggage.

Je dois dire que j’ai été un peu déçu au niveau de la déco. J’ai choisi cet hôtel car j’adore la déco et j’ai vu que c’était affilié à Roche Bobois.
Comparer à l’accueil et le bar où c’est très chaleureux. Je m’attendais à ce que les chambres soient pareilles. La moquette était tachée les meubles abîmés . La suite familiale n’est pas du tout chaleureuse. Après le service et la propreté était impeccable.

Nous avons apprécié cet hôtel. Plusieurs points positifs, dont la situation de l’hôtel. (à l’intérieur de la citadelle de Bastia) C’était magnifique. Notre chambre était parfaite pour nous et répondait à nos besoins. Nous avions un balcon qui donnait sur la marina et la mer. Nous avons apprécié le calme qui régnait dans l’établissement et tout autour de l’hôtel. Le personnel était toujours prêt à répondre à nos besoins et nous guider durant notre séjour. Nous avons aussi soupé sur la terrasse et la vue était à couper le souffle.

The view are super cool. Breakfast and bar provides a great service with good quality.
The pool and spa are clean and convenient. (The sauna was not accessible)
Note that you don't have direct access by car, you need to park around or in the public parking next door (price are low) but need to walk with your luggage for 10 min in little (but cute) streets .

Das Hotel hat zwar ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis aber es entspricht nicht einem 4-Sterne Standard.

Der Spa ist kein Spa, Hammam und Saune kaputt, wohl schon seit langer Zeit! Sollte man auf der Website auch so schreiben!

Frühstück überteuert, sowohl Frühstück als auch Diner werden in der Lobby an Tischen serviert, was gar nicht geht, da ständig die Gäste rein und raus laufen.

Zimmergröße ok, auch das Bad. Aber sehr hellhörig!

Im Voraus bis zur Abreise erhielten wir von der Rezeption wertvolle Tips. Die Lage zu Hafen und Altstadt und die Aussicht ist absolut top; genauso wie die Zimmer. Einzelne sind nur über Treppen erreichbar; vergewissern Sie sich über den Zugang Ihres Zimmers, wenn Sie damit etwas Mühe hätten. Das Frühstücksbuffet wunderbar. Immer gerne wieder dieses Hotel!! beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Bastia, auch wenn es vom öffentlichen Parkhaus max 5 Minuten bis zum Hotel ist, wenn man mit dem (Miet)auto anreist.

Waarschuwing: dit hotel is onbereikbaar met de auto. Je moet parkeren in de parkeergarage Citadelle, en je bagage over de hobbelige keien naar het hotel slepen. Je moet goed ter been zijn anders heb je een probleem.
We wisten dit niet en Google stuurde ons de citadel in, totdat we niet verder konden. Ergernis bij ons. Een bericht hierover van het hotel, voor aankomstdatum, zou fijn geweest zijn.
Verder was alles heel erg goed!
Fijne ruime kamer, ruime badkamer. Uitstekend ontbijt op prachtig terras met uitzicht op haven en zee. Vriendelijke staf. Restaurant ook goed, de St Pierre (zonnevis) en Fiadone (dessert) van harte aanbevolen
