We stayed at this hotel for three nights as the last part of our Spain trip. The hotel is in a great area. It is definitely noisy and busy but located by everything. There is construction happening on the road that it is on so be prepared to wait a long time if you order a taxi because there is only one way onto that street, which does cause a lot of traffic. The hotel is nice, but it is a tad dated. My one main concern was that there is a smell in the hotel. I am not sure if it is some kind of old musty scent, but it does linger everywhere in the hotel. We couldn’t even open up our closet because the smell was so pungent and we didn’t want it to stick to our clothing. We also thought it was interesting that before you left the hotel, you always had to bring the key back to the front desk, which was fine, just something we had to account for timing wise. Overall, I do think that the 24 hour buffet is a nice option and does make this hotel stick out in comparison to others. I would recommend this hotel with just the sidenote of the other things going on within the hotel and outside of it.

Very convenient location in Las Ramblas. Lots of stores nearby. Taxi stand just down the street. Nicest staff! Note: The entrance is on the second floor but there is an elevator to the lobby.

You honestly cannot beat the price and the location! The staff were absolutely amazing! Our room was cleaned everyday, and anything we needed the staff never hesitated to help! Overall it was the perfect place for us to stay! The hotel is fairly close to everything and the metro is right there for easy access! Will definitely book again!

My stay at the Hotel Continental Barcelona was wonderful. The hotel interior is beautiful, the staff was so fridndly, helpful and kind. The buffet provided a good selection of food and beverages. I especially liked the breakfast. I celebrated my birthday while stsying there and found a bottle of champagne 🍾 and glasses for my entire party in my room. How above and beyond is that! I highly recommend this hotel for ambiance, amenities, location, and care fir the guests. This is a winner!

The hotel was in a great location and close to restaurants, shopping and touring. The rooms were updated and very clean Breakfast was included and you were able to get drinks, coffee and snacks throughout the day. All the staff were friendly and helpful and a special shoutout to Vivian at the front desk who was so helpful, friendly and accommodating.

I picked this hotel because it was located right in the Gothic area in Barcelona. The reciews I had read were pretty good. However, the hotel is nice. It’s definitely not a four or five star hotel but it was compatible for our needs for staying there a few nights. The area we stayed in, was very, very busy so getting in and out of there is kind of tight just due to heavy traffic. The rooms are small, but there’s a unique an old look to the building that just gives you a real feeling of a European setting, which was nice. The staff was nice and helpful at the front. The food was just OK. We did love the frozen yogurt that they had :-) thank you.

Wow! This was our favorite stay of our trip! The hotel is historic and the 24/7 availability of drinks, coffee, and snacks was such a nice perk! But the best part of our stay was our daily interactions with Vivian who was not only a gracious reception host but also an amazing human being! She made us smile every day and remembered such little details that made us feel welcome like it was our home away from home. We will stay here every time we visit Barcelona!

The main draw to Hotel Continental is it's location on La Rambla, the historic center of Barcelona. Our room was nice with comfortable beds (yes, plural, we had two twins) and a modern bathroom. The hotel is old so the decor and hallways reflected that. Still, it was in good condition.

The buffet was fine for us at breakfast and then snacks during the day or evening.

The staff was great and super helpful with all our 'touristy' questions.

We'd stay there again.

We had a nice stay there. Having some food available all day was really nice and the breakfast was wonderful. Our room was clean; the only thing was that the bathroom sliding door was stuck halfway open and required some muscle to close it, I told them when we checked out so I'm sure that maintenance has taken care of it. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

This was such a sweet find. The room we stayed in was large and airy. We paid to upgrade to a 2 bed room but really the one rooms looked fine. Bathroom and shower great and the 24 hour food counter was so fun. Frozen yogurt at 10 pm and cappuccinos whenever you want. In a great part of town.

This hotel was a hidden gem. Very comfortable rooms. They have a breakfast buffet that turns into a lunch buffet. Includes complimentary beer and wine and ice cream! Getting into reception then to your rooms was a little interesting as you have to be buzzed in but we got used to it pretty quickly. Very convenient to walking most of the sites around Old Barcelona.

This is our second time here because we liked it so much for the location, staff and cleanliness. Hallway and building looks old but the rooms looks renovated and super clean. Along La Rambla with lots of dining and shopping options. 7 mins to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the aeroport bus. Metro is just a minute away. Next to the Gothic quarter and Barcelona Cathedral is few mins walk away. We loved the 24h buffet food with greens, cheese & cold cuts. Staff are great, we stored our luggage because we checked in early and they delivered them to the room once the room was ready. Highly recommend.

From the charmingly appointed room (small, but normally sized for area) to the quaint balcony, and the generously provided breakfast and all day snacks, This was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Barcelona. Perfectly located along La Rambla across from the Catalunya Metro station, everything we want to see was an easy met ride away.

La Rambla never sleeps, But the rooms are well insulated and we slept wonderfully. And since we were traveling from the US, We appreciated having the charming balcony to watch the activity below as we adjusted to the time difference.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful service from the staff at this hotel! So helpful with information about the history of Barcelona, places to go for fun and for tapas, As well as assistance regarding the metro. Barcelona has a fantastic metro system, which we did not have any experience with where we are from... The staff at Hotel Continental helped us understand how it works, which really help us get comfortable using it!!!

If you are looking for a hotel In Barcelona that is worth absolutely every penny (yet very competitively priced for the area), you should stop looking and reserve this one. They will take great care of you!!
