Wow! This was our favorite stay of our trip! The hotel is historic and the 24/7 availability of drinks, coffee, and snacks was such a nice perk! But the best part of our stay was our daily interactions with Vivian who was not only a gracious reception host but also an amazing human being! She made us smile every day and remembered such little details that made us feel welcome like it was our home away from home. We will stay here every time we visit Barcelona!

The main draw to Hotel Continental is it's location on La Rambla, the historic center of Barcelona. Our room was nice with comfortable beds (yes, plural, we had two twins) and a modern bathroom. The hotel is old so the decor and hallways reflected that. Still, it was in good condition.
The buffet was fine for us at breakfast and then snacks during the day or evening.
The staff was great and super helpful with all our 'touristy' questions.

We had a nice stay there. Having some food available all day was really nice and the breakfast was wonderful. Our room was clean; the only thing was that the bathroom sliding door was stuck halfway open and required some muscle to close it, I told them when we checked out so I'm sure that maintenance has taken care of it. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

This was such a sweet find. The room we stayed in was large and airy. We paid to upgrade to a 2 bed room but really the one rooms looked fine. Bathroom and shower great and the 24 hour food counter was so fun. Frozen yogurt at 10 pm and cappuccinos whenever you want. In a great part of town.

This hotel was a hidden gem. Very comfortable rooms. They have a breakfast buffet that turns into a lunch buffet. Includes complimentary beer and wine and ice cream! Getting into reception then to your rooms was a little interesting as you have to be buzzed in but we got used to it pretty quickly. Very convenient to walking most of the sites around Old Barcelona.

This is our second time here because we liked it so much for the location, staff and cleanliness. Hallway and building looks old but the rooms looks renovated and super clean. Along La Rambla with lots of dining and shopping options. 7 mins to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the aeroport bus. Metro is just a minute away. Next to the Gothic quarter and Barcelona Cathedral is few mins walk away. We loved the 24h buffet food with greens, cheese & cold cuts. Staff are great, we stored our luggage because we checked in early and they delivered them to the room once the room was ready. Highly recommend.

Good location, basic amenities which were fine but nothing particularly special. The 24 hour “buffet” is very basic and honestly unappealing most of the time given that the same food sits out all day long. Coffee, soda and beer was nice, but the wine was AWFUL.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were helpful and informative. The location was ideal being on La Rambla and near public transportation. It’s also not too far from the airport. I walked most places anywhere from 5 to 30minutes. The Barceloneta beach is about a 30minutes walk away or you can use the public bus which was great seeing as there is no pool on the facility. There is an all day buffet which was great so it made decisions about when or where to eat easier. I had a room with a balcony which was the icing on top of the cake, bc there is nothing like sitting on the balcony early morning or later in the evening and just looking over La Rambla as people walk by.

It is an older hotel, but our room was spotless. We stay there every year and it is always great. It is located in a very busy street, but the windows are sound proof. They have a cute outdoor space for eating, and a good selection of items to eat and drink, free of charge, 24/7. As I said, it is a very old hotel, but for me, a good for me. Centrally located for the restaurants I like to visit.

Weird and unsettling experience
Because of a flight delay, we checked in at 2am. The hotel door was locked and it was not at all clear which doorbell we had to push (there are several businesses in the building, including an unrelated hostel). We apparently got it right because the door eventually buzzed for 1/2 second - not long enough for us to know to try it. It took 2 more times before we finally got in. At the 2nd floor (where reception is) it felt like we were getting off in an industrial building, but a padded door popped open on the right, letting us into a carpeted area that reminded me of movie depictions of early 20th century brothels. After checking in, we checked out the \"24-hour buffet\" which was not much more than some buckets of canned fruit. To get to our room, we had to be buzzed out back to the elevator, then buzzed in again to our floor. Everything was being monitored from the desk by camera. To leave the floor, we had to pick up a phone by the door. It was very weird. The room itself was reasonably comfortable except that there were very few electrical outlets and every single one of them was damaned (ground pins bent up so that a plug could not be seated properly). Charging our phones was hard. I'm glad our stay was only for one night. Location was good except it is best to take a taxi to the nearby square and walk, as driving right to the door is a very long way around to get on a limited-access street.

The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The website was a little misleading however. The bar was two containers of wine in the fridge and one tap of beer. Laundry service was available, however, the laundromat was four blocks down the street. For the price, there better places we could have stayed for about the same price.

Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with our stay. However, I must say first off that the staff was amazing. The lady at reception was so attentive to us, and remembered us every time we walked past. The hotel itself disappointed me. The photos are misleading. It is hard to get to the reception, the whole hotel is a maze of narrow halls and staircases, and just felt so old. Our room was decent and clean. The hotel advertised that they are all-inclusive with buffet all day. Technically, this is true. But it’s really only food at breakfast, and then snacks like chips and fruit left out for the rest of the day. For the price, I really should have chosen another hotel in the area with a rooftop sitting area with hot tub, there were really no amenities here to impress.
