The staff, the buffet food, the spa, free parking were excellent . Location was great if you are looking for a quieter place. There are a couple of restaurants close by to walk to but that would've the only drawback - not much else to really do in an evening outside of the hotel without getting the shuttle to Méribel. Ski in and out fabulous. Would definitely go again- just to able to use the sauna and heated inside pool! Rooms are good, nothing super fancy. There was also a ski locker and boot room . If I had only one negative thing to say it is that the outside jacuzzi was not really hot, like the inside one ( vey chlorinated)- but literally that's it!!

We have had four family ski holidays staying at Madame Vacances Hotel Le Mottaret and we have always very much enjoyed our time here. The very helpful and friendly staff are excellent. The location of the hotel is right next to the slope just a 30 second stroll from the hotel entrance. There is an excellent ski equipment hire shop on the premises which is very convenient and the shop staff are very helpful. The lounge/bar area is very comfortable and cosy after a day on the slopes, as well as the very soothing jacuzzi located outside at the front of the hotel. The swimming pool/ spa area is also very relaxing and complete with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We stayed on a half-board basis and the buffet breakfast is fantastic and each evening there was a different theme for the buffet dinner. We really enjoyed every meal! Our room was clean and comfortable with a bath and shower. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and will soon be booking our next stay here in January 2007.

Excellent location. Excellent value for money. The best 2 bartenders in the world (shoutout to George and Freddie for the exceptional service and sharing yoir drink making artistry!). Nice to be able to book a private 30 min hot tub (would be great if it was a touch hotter and a little less bubbly!) the themed dinner nights were excellent and the food very good. We opted for the half board which was excellent value (even considering we opted for one night out at Les Coursives in Meribel village which was the best French food I’ve ever tasted!).
Suggest a kettle in the dining room for those of us who like scalding hot tea :)
The rooms were big and the beds comfy. Our room had carpet which I personally hate. The lounge was kitschy and cool and had just the right feel before and apres ski. Loved the combo of old charm and low tech with all you need for a delightful stay and this quirky spot. Would definitely come back.

This hotel has a bad smell in the rooms and the bathrooms are quite disgusting. I was not happy here and glad it was only a one night stopover. For the money charged, there are much better options. The photos on hotels.com are not honest.

Nice hotel in a good location. We were B&B, breakfast had a good selection, however food was warm, not hot and baked beans were stone cold most mornings. As we were B&B we decided we would pay and try dinner one night.

We were glad that we hadn’t selected this option. Again the food was warm at best and variably not worth the €35 pp we had to pay for the experience.

In summary, nice hotel, service and staff were good, food needs improving.

This is a great hotel right next to the nursery slope in Motteret centre, so it’s ski-in ski-out. Rooms are cleaned daily. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the buffet dinner offers plenty of options which are changed each evening. The bar and lounge area is very cosy. The spa and outside jacuzzi are very welcome at the end of a days skiing. All the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. We have just returned from our third stay at the hotel and will be back again next year!

GREAT STAFF BUT INCONVENIENT HOTEL

Hotel staff is very friendly and supportive. However, the room described on Hotels.com was different. It was stated that there are 2 (two) restrooms - however, the room had 2 bathrooms and 1 toilet room. Accordingly, the describtion of the room has to state that there is only 1(one) toilet and 2 (two) separate bathrooms without toilets. The 2nd bedroom was too small for a bedroom and looked like a closet in which a bunk bed was placed.
The hotel does not have a laundry room that makes it inconvenient for skiing travelers.

This was our second family ski holiday staying at Madame Vacances Hotel Le Mottaret and we have been very impressed on both occasions. The very helpful and friendly staff are excellent. Newly refurbished hotel with the friendliest and most helpful staff I have encountered in my many years skiing in the Alps. The reception staff were always warm, welcoming and friendly. The hotel is conveniently situated next to the slopes. The jacuzzi was wonderful after a day spent skiing. The food was varied and always very tasty and the restaurant staff were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable, although at night it proved to be a little too hot. I would definitely stay again.

Good value and ideal for ski in-ski out

We arrived early at this hotel and were told that it was their first day of opening and official opening was not until 12:00 but the very friendly lady (Katie) took our bags for us so we could go and enjoy the day. The first day was all a little hectic inside the hotel with last minute cleaning and repairs been made but the service was fine, we were upgraded so we had a nice view of the slopes and room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel was well located for the slopes and there was a bus service into Meribel. The bar area was cosy and the guy at the bar serving us was very good. Only negatives really was the breakfast, lots of choice but not great quality and the ski room was a cave and very damp and cold which made getting the boots on a little tricky. We got a really good deal at the hotel so it seemed very good value but not quite as high standard as some other 3 star hotels in the Alps.

Definite ski in, ski out!

Madame Vacances location is exactly what you want for a ski vacation. There is a rental place right next door with very friendly staff and you can store everything there. It takes about a 3 min walk to the slopes where you can get on 1 of 4 lifts right away! The rooms are quite small and very out of date, but livable and with a balcony. The front lobby has a fireplace and seating for games and socializing with a bar available for drinks. The restaurant has amazing food all the time (make sure you get breakfast here) and definitely reminds me of a cabin on the hill. The staff are very friendly, helpful and happy.... A great atmosphere.

The hotel has a nicely stocked bar and nice feel to the lobby. The rooms themselves were rather uninteresting. Nothing terrible, but nothing remarkable. The staff were very nice and accomodating. We paid for the dinner when we booked, and would advise against it. The soup was watery, and the main course was a piece of boiled chicken served on steamed rice (unseasoned). The pasta course was mostly boiled pasta with a bit of sauce. We did not order the beef option, but the couple at the table next to us did, and complained about it. And the leftover bread from dinner was served for breakfast the next morning -- stale and inedible.

I would stay there again because of friendly staff and food great with convivial lounge/bar area, all in very good location; but hotel owner needs to invest a bit more in the rooms eg a bath plug, wall radiator that works, safe not at impossible-to-read ankle height, no burnt lamp shades, sufficient light to read in bed etc

Zimmer und Lage waren in Ordnung, jedoch war das Essen enttäuschend. Die Speisen waren sehr eigenartig zubereitet und geschmacklich nicht ansprechend, was den Aufenthalt deutlich beeinträchtigt hat.

Séjour hôtel Mottaret.

Hôtel confortable situé proche des pistes et des cabines pour accéder à Mottaret.
Demi pension sous forme de buffets variés de qualité avec un thème chaque soir. Goûters mis à disposition chaque jour. Le Jacuzzi extérieur avec -10 degres est très fun.
Personnel toujours souriant et avenant.
A noter casiers à skis et à chaussures non individuels. Accès par un code partagé avec l’ensemble des hôtes.
Température de la chambre un peu basse et pas de sèche serviette dans la salle d’eau.

Hyvä sijainti rinteiden vieressä. Hyvät palvelut. kaipaa jonkin remontointia mm suksi- ja monovarastot. Myös huoneet vanhanaikaisia ja surkeat sängyt. Puolihoidon ruoka ei ollut erikoista, mutta nälkä lähti. Erittäin ystävällinen henkilökunta.

Manque de professionnalisme

L’hôtel est très bien situé au pied des pistes.
Le personnel est sympathique mais manque de professionnalisme et d’encadrement.
Plusieurs déboires pendant le séjour: la TV n’a jamais fonctionné malgré une promesse de réparation et la femme de ménage oublie de faire la chambre la veille du départ.
La qualite des repas du soir est moyenne (buffet).
Le rapport qualité/prix n’est pas bon.

Hotel was ideaal gelegen langs skigebied.De netheid kon iets beter.Het eten was superlekker , doch het ontbijt mocht wat later mogelijk zijn (tot 9u nu).
De muziek op het terras smiddags was nogal luidruchtig.

Leider hatten wir den ganzen Tag von 8h30 bis 22h30 laute Musik von der Aussenbar.Wofür? von 18 bis 21h wäre es noch zu verkraften.
Die zwei Einzelbetten waren nur etwa 75cm breit, die Matratzen waren jedoch
sehr gut.Das Frühstücksangebot war sehr gut, auch für nicht-Engländer..

skilocatie op de piste is top. goede bediening en hotelservice is ok. all-in formule is ok met mogelijkheid eten s'middag op locatie. all-in alcoholdranken is eerder beperkt tot plaatselijke dranken. verder alles inbegrepen van 10 tot 10. kwaliteit eten is ruim voldoende.

L hôtel en lui même et très bien Par contre le personnel n est pas du tout au point ( manque de personnel, ne parle pas bien le français, manque d'organisation...) Deplus nous avions pris la demi pension et là c'est le désastre la demi pension ne comprend que 2 plats ( entrée plat ou plat dessert ) 1er repas 40 mn pour avoir la carte alors que nous étions la 3em table ,choix entre 2 entrées 2 plats 2 desserts au lieu de 3 minimums, quantité dans les assiette pour des enfants de 6 ans et pas du tout travaillé ( frites vraiment trop cuite, part truite saumon 1/4 d'une portion normale, légumes cuits simplement à l'eau) aucun buffet ni grillade ! ....

Chambres très bien rénovées et de bon goût !

Comme mentionné à Madame Vacances, de nombreux déboires lors de ce séjour :Pas de chef en cuisine 1 jour et demi sur 3.Le gérant a cru pouvoir assurer mais n'y est pas parvenu, nous les pensionnaires avons dû faire cuire nos steaks et frites.... De plus, la nourriture n'était pas digne d'un tel établissement, nous avons mangé des boîtes de conserve, certains pensionnaires ont même dit qu'ils mangeaient mieux à la cantine, c'est vraiment dommage, cela détruit la réputation de cet hôtel qui pourtant est très agréable ! Nous ne connaissons pas le fin mot de cette histoire, de toute façon, un manque de rigueur et d'organisation est certain, que s'est-il vraiment passé avec ce chef de cuisine et le Gérant, ça, nous ne le saurons pas !!!!!

tres bon emplacement

chambres petites mais correctes pour de courts séjours. Petit-déjeuner excellent et large choix. Repas satisfaisant. Globalement un peu cher pour le niveau de l'hotel, à mon avis ne mérite pas 3 étoiles.
