This hotel is definitely budget class but is very convenient for shopping and getting to the railway or us station. Tirano is great place to stay, but this hotel does not do much in food. Breakfast finishes at 9am and the hotel does not supply any facility in the rooms for making a hot drink. No fridge.

Convenient for the train station and we had a nice view from our top floor room and a lovely dinner nearby.

Unfortunately we discovered in the morning that there were bed bugs living under the mattress, which had bitten us during the night.

The staff were apologetic and offered us a free breakfast.

I didn’t manage to stay as they don’t allow check in after 22.00hrs and my train didn’t arrive until 22.16 and they also charge a fee for checking in between 19.00hrs and 22.00hrs.
This is not a hospitality business!

Only stayed 1 night after arriving on the barnina express train. 10 minute walk with luggage from train station. Was offered to view two different rooms to choose from. Small rooms , bed rock hard , pillows like pancakes, good
shower pressure , stayed early June and room was abit on the warm side but fan provided in room. Can’t rate breakfast as we left on a early train. Overall ok hotel for the cheap price.

Some idiot decided the room needed a box glued onto the wall right where you'd rest you back whilst sitting lengthways on the bed viewing the TV. I felt like ripping it off. Its sole purpose was to hold the TV remote control.

Great deal for what it was. My only complaint which ruined my view of the place: breakfast was not included which is totally fine for the price- however- complaint is that they made it seem like it was included (plus it has been in every other place we have stayed) and proceeded to charge us upon checking out. It should have been clear that it was extra. Furthermore the breakfast was not good, coffee terrible. Had I known, I would have spent my money on coffee and pastry at the place around the corner. This soured my experience.

Hotel needs updating.

The hotel needs updating. The room was small.The bathroom was not very clean and old fashioned. The shower was fixed high above your head so you had to dodge about if you didn’t want a hair wash. The pillows were extremely hard but replaced on request. The bed clothing was layered so it all fell off in the night.
Breakfast was a poor selection especially if wanting gluten free.
Chose this hotel because it said there was a restaurant but this was not correct it was only open for breakfast.

Nice staff, good breakfast, great. Location near old town.
My only complaint would be that we received a front room along the main highway through the town. The windows are not modern so I heard the trucks all night. My wife beside did not. Guess I should have had another grappa.

Host of the property, Matteo was very kind and obliging, agreeing to our change of rooms for one night and even helped us move our belongings over to the new room while we were out taking in the sights.
On the day of our departure he even drove us to the train station as it was raining. Excellent service!👍👍👍

Good value& location

The hotel is located @ the center of Tirano, walkable from the main train station, near the shopping areas, restaurants( like Parravicini) actually this has a bar, but I didn’t eat there.I just had coffee& bread. I see locals in it. The receptionist i met was very nice, informative & helpful, speaks English well. The amenities inside the room are very basic, tv w/ 2 English channel, soap/ shampoo, the room is kinda old but well maintained & clean, no smell. It’s not noisy as it was on the main street.The wifi is sometimes slow but okay. I felt safe coming back during the night. For the price i paid this is as good as it gets! Nothing fancy but not too shabby of a place to stay in Tirano, would recommend it.

Value hotel, centrally located.

The hotel was clean and centrally-located, but I think it could benefit from some refurbishment. The room was traditional, if not a little basic. We found the bed and pillows quite uncomfortable, and there was no air conditioning in the room, but under normal circumstances I don't think it would be required - we were just there during a very unusually hot heat wave! Basic amenities included as you would expect - toiletries, towels, wifi, TV etc. The hotel is located on a busy junction so take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and courteous. I'd advise finding a free car park before you arrive; parking is not brilliant around the hotel, with a lot of 'two hours max' street bays. Breakfast was again basic but fine for our needs - a coffee machine with continental buffet including yogurt and fruit made for a good start to the day! Overall we found Albergo Stelvio a decent value budget hotel - I think we got what we paid for and what we expected.

It was a nice small hotel. Room is clean however our bathroom has a strange smell that may be from outside. Staff is friendly and check-in process is very fast. This hotel is fairly close to all attractions that shows on google map.

Good location with friendly service

We arrived in the dark and rain to find a friendly welcome, with tips on where to find some food at that hour! The next morning we were able to leave our luggage there while we explored the town, prior to our train departure. A good place for a short stop.

The hotel is situated in the old town area. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our 2 night stay. The railway station is a short walk away. Tirano is a pleasant small town, with plenty of restaurants and shops of different sorts.

Good little hotel in a beautiful town.

We stayed in Tirano one night before catching the train to Chur (the Bernina Express route) the next day. What a lovely town. The hotel is homey and well-cared for. The front staff was very friendly and told us about some local sites we should see in the few daylight hours we had in town. Breakfast was good and at a reasonable price. Overall, a very positive experience.

Great location for a visit to the Italian Alpes

Myself and a fellow cyclist stayed here for a week whilst we were in the area to participate in a local event as well as just getting in some mountain miles. The hotel was very easy to find, the owner waited up for us as we arrived after normal check in hours and this was no problem. We were even given a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Our twin room was adequate in size and facilities although a kettle would have been a real bonus. The hotel has free WiFi which worked well in our room. The room was facing a busy road but personally I didn't find this a problem and the traffic noise wasn't really an issue although for some people it might be. Breakfast was a well stocked buffet, the fresh scrambled eggs were really good.

An hotel that could have been great.

We were very warmly welcomed by the person who runs the hotel and his wife. It was my wife's birthday and the wine bottle presented was a refreshing experience.

The hotel is located right in the city centre - towards the old city (not the new part). the room was spacious but a bit dated. The noise levels from the street and the air conditioner was a problem.

The bathroom wasn't comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights - one morning when the hotel was less crowded - there was no one to serve breakfast.

the room rent did not include breakfast and we had to pay €6 per person for the breakfast per night. There is no parking for th hotel - so park in public places - there are a few free ones not very far from the hotel.

We had forgotten our tablet and the hotel reached out to us over email and phone very quickly and we were able to return back and collect the item. That was very helpful.

Easy transfer to aboard Bernina Express

What we need a room in Tirano was easy access to Bernina Express Station. A pleasant surprises were: economy price with clean and comfortable room. It's quiet and nicely furnished. The best of all was cordial and thorough services provided by the owner. Included is the free breakfast which offered enough variety of food and beverage that starts you a fresh and energetic morning. Besides. Tirano is a small town with nice and friendly locales who would go out of way to help you in case you need a direction. By contrast, in Milan, good luck!

We had a good night's sleep and a good breakfast. Checkout is rather unhelpfully at 10am, and they like you to pay on arrival, but the staff were flexible on both these things. We did the Bernina Express trip to Chur in Switzerland, and we stayed here the night before setting off. The bed was comfortable. This may have been a strange one-off, but there was an unpleasant smell in our bedroom in the morning (that we were pretty sure wasn't coming from anything we did!).

We chose this hotel for value over anything else. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the fact that the hotel was being renovated while we were there and the drills were a bit noisy - but that's what you get for staying in the off season ( and to be fair , all the work stopped in the early evening!)

We stayed here one night prior to the Bernina Express train and one night post. The hotel was close to center of town, many restaurants nearby and a convenient 5 minute walk to the train station. The front desk attendant spoke very good English. The view from the rooms that face the river were very nice. Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel so can't comment, but it is available for the usual cost. I would stay here again if in the area.

Tutti i veicoli che transitano sotto la strada si sentono anche con le finestre chiuse, per non parlare dei veicoli pesanti che transitano a tutte le ore..... Letti da cambiare (materassi duri e letti scomodi).

Hyggeligt hotel med lidt gadestøj

Hotellet er af ældre dato, men er pænt og har charme. Værterne er venlige og høflige.
Vores eneste ankepunkt er at hotellet ligger ud til en ret befærdet hovedvej gennem byen, hvorfor ørepropper kan være en god idé.

Un muy buen hotel, cerca de la estación y en la entrada de la ciudad! Muy buena atención! Lo único que podría mejorar es poner carteles de silencio en los pasillos ya que hay más huéspedes que no respetan el descanso de los demás y hacen mucho ruido! Pero el hotel muy bien!

Il personale è stato molto gentile. Abbiamo prenotato solo per una notte e posso dire che il letto molto comodo, riscaldamento funzionava bene, c’era un balcone grande e a la mattina dopo ci hanno dato la opzione di fare colazione buffet per €6 a testa. Economico, pulito, è vicino a la stazione ferroviaria. C’è un ristorante di sushi all you can eat di fronte al albergo molto buono.

Posizione buona per andare a prendere il treno Bernina express, struttura abbastanza vecchia, non pulita bene e bagno da dimenticare. Personale ospitale e cortese, nonostante mi fosse arrivata la mail che il check in l'avrei dovuto fare entro le 19 pena il pagamento extra di €15 (sinceramente la prima volta che mi capita una cosa del genere), sono arrivato verso le 21 ed il portiere non mi ha fatto pagare il supplemento.
