I booked 3 rooms in the same category and price point, 2 rooms were what we were expecting and my room was about half the size of the other two rooms. It stunk like an ashtray and when we went to use the shower, it didn't drain and flooded the bathroom. We were told that the maintenance person had left for the day. (It was around 6pm) There was no follow up, no offer for a different room. Just had to stay in a room that smelled like cigarettes and had an unusable shower. Terrible.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel has earned one.

I was allocated Room 105 and was genuinely shocked by the condition of it. The room contained heavily stained carpets and cushions, mould in the bathroom, curtains that did not close properly, evidence of cigar smoke, an unknown substance on the headboard and, most concerningly, visible blood and urine stains on the mattress.

The hotel's defence has been that I was offered the opportunity to move rooms. Whilst technically true, I had just arrived for a holiday and did not want to spend my first afternoon unpacking, repacking and moving because the room provided was clearly below an acceptable standard.

The situation became far more serious later that evening when the television fell off the wall. At that point I immediately went to reception and requested to be moved as I no longer felt safe in the room.

What has disappointed me most is the response afterwards. I contacted the hotel on several occasions seeking a reasonable resolution. I received one reply from Sonia, responded in detail, and then heard nothing further despite sending five additional emails. No acknowledgement, no explanation and no attempt to resolve the complaint.

The room I was eventually moved to was perfectly acceptable, which only highlighted how poor Room 105 actually was.

Poor cleanliness, poor maintenance and even worse customer service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Perfect location and great staff. Walking distance to a ton of restaurants and shops. 15 minute drive from the airport. We ubered for longer trips that weren’t walkable and never had an issue getting an uber. The room was clean and spacious but the carpet was stained, that’s the only reason for 4 stars for cleanliness. The staff is great! Very helpful and responsive. Mohamed the bartender was one of my favorite parts of the trip! The staff at the beach club was excellent as well! Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel to stay for Nice Getaway! Location wise is absolutely perfect- walking distance to main train station (to catch a train to Eze, Monte Carlo or Cannes). Stones throw from all the restaurants and sea literally across the road.
I made sure that I book myself a room that is facing courtyard as from my travel experiences in different places I know that street view rooms can get noisy due to pedestrians and traffic.
I also made sure that I book Premium room as they newly refurbished with grand new deco and all completely new and stylish.
Bed was extremely comfortable (and I'm a fussy sleeper).
We had breakfast included (book through Expedia) and it was a great selection of buffet breakfast options. Staff were all polite and professional so all in all have literally O negative things to say. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt!

This hotel was wonderful! The first thing I want to address is how friendly and accommodating the staff was. Including the bar staff! The location was perfect, very central to everything. My downside to this hotel was the noise- it was very loud til about 1am every night but I guess that is the price you pay for having a central location. The rooms were not that clean, for example, the crumbs on the carpet stayed for days til we said something about it, and there was some sort of chocolate stains on the walls that were not taken care of upon checking into the room and the extension of our entire stay. The rooms on the left side (level 3) where we stayed were not updated. No USB plug ins and no smart tv so come prepared with wall chargers. I checked into a different room (level 5) where I was told the rooms were newly renovated and I had better soaps, a USB plug in next to the bed and a smart tv with English channels. Overall I had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to anyone and would absolutely come back. Would love to see my bartender friends Mohammed and Diana again!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Beau Rivage. The property is close to everything, the Promenade, shopping, the beach and restaurants. The staff was very helpful once we got through check in. Housekeeping kept our room very clean. I understand some rooms have been updated, ours was not. It was a little noisy at night. We enjoyed the bar and the bartenders there.

Amazing location, everything was walkable 20 mins to the train station but worth the walk to see the rest of Nice. The staff was very fiendly and helpful as well.

Stayed here recently and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience.

The only positive is the location, which is convenient and well situated. Beyond that, the hotel falls far below expectations.

The rooms are extremely outdated — it feels like nothing has been renovated since the late 90s or early 2000s — and, more importantly, they are poorly maintained. Our bathroom had missing tiles, and the faucet was literally falling apart. The overall condition gives the impression that upkeep is not a priority.

The flooring is old carpet, which naturally feels unclean and worn. This really affects the overall comfort of the room.

Another major issue was parking. The hotel advertises private parking, but we were not given access to it, which was frustrating and misleading.

Considering the high price of the rooms, the value is simply not there. Honestly, even if it were free, I would not choose to stay here again.

But the biggest plus for us was the staff, especially Sonya (?) at the front desk who spent a half hour getting us train tickets for the next day that we thought we had under control. Overall Beau Rivage is a very nice hotel with attentive and accomodating staff. Hotels.com lisiting raved about the access to the Beau Rivage beach club, with chairs and free towels. I decided to pay much more that competing hotels and reserve on Sep 29. When I arrived on Sep 30, I was very disappointed to learn the beach club was closed for the season. Hotels.com listing was mis-leading! and a recent check still highlights access to the beach club as a major benefit :(

First time in my life the hotel did not have hot water for more than a day. For $400 a night, I could not take a shower. Beach club was closed, while all other ones worked and had beds. The AC was either too strong or it was too hot. I got sick and couldn't even take a hot shower. Miserable experience.

Booked for one night short stay , Sunday. Actually only needed the room until 9pm but had to take full overnight rate.
Wanted a place with beach access and a decent bathroom to rest and change before my late night flight. Beach was closed as season was over without being informed - so that cost more to take a bed elsewhere. Room was old and tired looking, damp smelling and very poor shutters and furnishings. Looked like it was stuck in the late 70’s. Bathroom the same, shabby but not chic. Views limited - corner room 404 looking onto the alley and a meagre glimpse of the sea. Room service was only available after 7pm and the menu over priced and unappealing.
A total waste of money with so many good hotels to compete with. My mistake was booking on Hotels.com without cancellation options.
The front staff were polite, which was the upside though not able to allow early access ahead of 3pm.
It’s past its glory days. I don’t think Matisse would be producing his best work there if he stayed these days !

The best asset of this property is its location in Vieux Nice. However the hotel faces a busy street and has no sea view. It is very expensive and overrated. The hotel advertises 35euros for beach lounge chairs but when you go, different price options are listed; 30 euros, 17 euros etc.
It isn’t right that we pay so much for the room, then are charged these different prices! The guy at the bar is overwhelmed, kept us waiting needlessly for a long time to serve us. I lost a ring at the hotel, reported it to staff and admin, they didn’t do anything, didn’t take it seriously. The breakfast is overpriced! We will not return to this hotel!

Desperately needed refubishung an modernising particularly the carpet and bathroom as there were stains on floors and walls and grubby corners. Didn't smell very fresh. I don't usually write reviews but don't feel like those available actually properly reflect this hotel. The condition and cleanliness of the room was very poor, the carpets were dirty and not vacuumed, there was hair on our towels on arrival and there was a stain on the sheets. The bathroom had no shower curtain or screen meaning the door was rotten at the bottom and there were other things in a general state of disrepair. The towels were replaced at the second time of asking and my concerns about the lack of a shower screen were met with a response like I was being stupid. The beach club is an extra 35 euros a day so don't be fooled into thinking it is included and to be honest, I'm baffled as to how this hotel maintains a 4 star rating given the lack of facilities. It does have redeeming qualities, the location is great, the bed was comfy and the aircon perfect.

This was a beautiful property, and we had a wonderful stay overall. Would absolutely stay here again for the location and the hotel itself being so clean and comfortable. They gave us late check-out and then held our bags for us until we had to leave on our last day, which we truly appreciated.

The only downsides were that check-in was supposed to be 3pm and we got there around 430pm expecting to be able to check-in right away but we had to wait for about 30 minutes for the room to become available which we found odd and we were glad we hadn’t shown up at 3pm expecting to check-on on time. There was also dried a splash from a drink on the headboard and the canvas photo above it, but other than that the room was very clean.

One thing we did find odd is that when you check-in they tell you that you can only rent beach chairs at the front desk and only for cash, but when you go down to the beach you can pay by card and it is cheaper.

Also when we went to the beach to rent 2 chairs for the day they refused to rent less chairs than people; there were 3 of us. Even though one of us only planning to swim and maybe sit on the edge of the chair for a few minutes at a time. They said 1 chair per person only. I’m not sure if this is a well-known rule, and that’s fine if it is but I just found it odd that even though 1 of us wasn’t planning to lounge out like 2 of us were that they refused to give us 2 chairs because there were 3 of us there. Just little things we noticed.

This is a great hotel in the center of old Nice, right near the beach. The beach is across the street, it’s not adjacent to the hotel. The hotel has its own beach club to which you as a guest will get a discount to. The total cost was €40 per person per bed for 1st line. Frankly, the beach club was nice but the price did not feel discounted considering that is the average beach bed cost in a lot of the clubs. Also you have to pay cash for it, they will ask you for another €5 to be on the front line.

We did it, the beach was clean and lovely and the staff attentive. I did choose this hotel thinking that the beach was just a normal amenity and was surprised at the cost. So if you’re reading this, there ya go!

We really liked being able to get outside and have access to the water, very convenient. Close to walk to everything and the boardwalk is wonderful.
However, it was expensive to rent chairs to sit out on and they only accept cash. As well, I wore earplugs the whole time as it is very noisy in the evenings because you can hear everything that is going on in the street and boardwalk.

Way overpriced, old rooms, don’t expect 4-star.

Completely outdated room, especially the bathroom which was falling apart. Dirty old carpet and closet. Lobby outdated but in decent condition, but smelled like sewage. Good service and great location, but not at all what one would expect of a 4 star. It’s 2 star on condition, 3-4 star on service and 5 star on location.

Breakfast is included but also at a 2-3 star level. Presentation is poor and food not great at all, very basic. Again, friendly staff.

Advertised as having a private beach, but doesn’t specify that you need to pay for your beach chairs on top of paying your room, which is ridiculous for a so-called 4 star hotel, and feels like they’re trying to pull one on you, so we simply didn’t go to their beach club.

I’m the end, way overpriced for what it offers.wont stay there again and won’t recommend.

We stayed at Hotel Beau Rivage for 3 nights. The hotel is very close to the beach. The reception area is beautiful and welcoming. the staff are super efficient and friendly. Our room is neat and tidy. good size shower and bathtub.
The breakfast staff were really friendly and accommodating. Food is the same everyday but very selections from fresh bake croissants, selection of good looking bread. The cold section is my favorite, cold slices, salmon gravlax, salads and fresh sliced fruits. The hot section has great selection too.
overall, I like the hotel because it is walking distance to all the dining places. and 2 minutes to the beach.
I highly recommended to all.

Great Hotel in perfect location with friendly staf

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Beau Rivage, perfectly located just one street away from the beautiful beach, an ideal spot for enjoying the best of the French Riviera. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well appointed, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

A special mention goes to Juliana at reception, who was exceptionally warm, helpful, and welcoming. Her friendly nature and local knowledge made our stay even more enjoyable. All the staff were lovely and attentive throughout our visit.

Highly recommend this hotel for its fantastic location, excellent service, and charming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Convenient location but loud and outdated

The staff were friendly and location was very convenient. However, the hotel is very outdated. The blowdryer was so old it was practically unusable. Coffee machine did not work and shot out coffee everywhere but into the cup. Air condition barely worked at all and the room was hot and muggy. Carpet felt dirty. The hotel is located right next to an outdoor concert venue so it was unbearably loud every night of the weekend until 1am at least. I would not stay here again

It is a great hotel close to the beach and the promenade. We had a great stay till we had to pay and for some reason their system couldn’t process credit cards from the United States. So, be aware and bring euros because they won’t accept dollars. It was kind of uncomfortable, at the end my husband suggested them to send us a link to pay online with the same credit cards they couldn’t process and voila! Their online system actually worked. After an hour of trying every credit card our family owned.

The hotel was in a great location. Close enough to the action but quite enough to enjoy. Beach was beautiful as was the lounge on the beach. Breakfast was delicious. However our bathroom needed a major update.

Really great location to walk the old town area and the Promenade. Breakfast was pretty good. Not great but it worked. Staff are really nice and the room was nice also. We would stay there again on next trip to Nice because it was just where you want to be to access old town and beach.
