My second time staying here. Checked in easy enough with the accommodation across the road at the lodge. The room had nice décor although the bathroom looked a little tired. I used the onsite gym facilities which did not have a lot of people in and allowed me to use the work stations and benches when I wanted to. The shower was good, the bed very comfy and breakfast across at the clubhouse restaurant was very good. A lovely place to stay.

Paper thin walls.

The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the room next door. There were of golfing groups who returned to the hotel very late and very loudly. On the second night the batteries in the exterior door electronic door lock were running low and therefore constantly beeped. We reported this to the bar staff (the only employees we could find) who told us they didn’t have any new batteries. Would I stay here again - nope !!

My son and I stayed for one night whilst in the area. We weren’t there for golf but did enjoy the driving range in the morning. The resort is nice, a little tired in places, the gym could do with some new boxing gloves 😂! But all in all very nice stay. The only reason I scored 4 was the bed, we had a twin room in the hotel. My son is 6ft 1 and his feet were hanging over the end of the small bed.

Golf competition stay

A fantastic location for any ardent golfer. The practice facilities, the hotel, clubhouse and course all contained within a compact area. The staff were outstanding and very accommodating.The rooms were spotless and quiet. Breakfast was spot on.All in all a top class stay. The bar staff, booking in and reception, golf and catering staff are a credit to the resort.

We had a lovely stay at the Dorset Golf Resort Hotel. The scenery & surrounding areas are stunning & we had some wonderful walks & runs through the woods. We had a couple days where we ran out of toilet paper as it wasn't topped up but luckily we had a couple rolls in the car & when I spoke to reception they resolved it straight away. The biggest downside I'd say is the limited selection for vegetarians, particularly for dinner, but it's a short drive away from some good pubs so this wasn't an issue. There is an electric car charger there, which was a great surprise, & it worked well on the first two occasions, but unfortunately there were issues on our last night so couldn't charge before leaving. We again spoke to reception & they said they'd try to get it sorted, but unfortunately this wasn't done in time so we charged on the M27. Despite these few very minor things, we genuinely had an amazing break with them. The staff were all very friendly, helpful & welcoming, all within an incredible setting. We didn't use any of the golf or bowls facilities so can't comment on those, but we saw a lot of very happy golfers around so I'm sure they enjoyed it. We would definitely go back again & highly recommend the Dorset Golf Resort.

The room was very hot and we were woken up by a tractor cutting the hedges at 7.30am. The bathrooms could do with being updated - very clinical and reminded us of hospital bathrooms. The breakfast was good and we requested vegan options which they did.

Nice hotel, but service mixed.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Service was a mixed bag. Some staff are friendly, some are not. Breakfast was good, but should have some fruit or yoghurts available. You need to pre-order dinner so bear this in mind if you were planning to eat there the first evening. Check out time of 930am is way too early! Especially as you can only check in after 4pm. Convenient location to explore Durdle Door and Old Harry's Rocks.

Well worth staying.

Hell to find. Local pubs and police(!) couldn't help but once there everything was excellent. Food very good and reasonably priced (bar food eaten but the more formal meals looked good). Staff excellent. The rooms are upstairs or down and there's no lift. Specify carefully if this matters. If you're into golf this is on thye spot but Monkey World and the Tank Museum are nearby.

The hotel building and staff were great, however, there was an issue on two different nights with drunk guests. One night I ended up sleeping in the car, and the other had other drunk guests hammering on windows and doors. Given the nights were several days apart, I can only assume this is a common occurence. The hotel itself doesn't have the best sound proofing which didn't help either. I would strongly advise anyone who doesn't intend to get drunk to stay elsewhere.

Our plan was to visit a RSPB reserve in Dorset and this hotel was in the perfect position. Lovely room with comfortable single beds and very efficient shower. Great to have two easy chairs on which to sit and decent table. Often there is only one which is very irritating and annoying. Downside is that the wall between us and the next door room must have been very thin as we could hear what the conversation was about. The bar was in a large room or we could sit outside. Large dining room. Good food. Would have liked other different fruits for breakfast. Staff all very friendly.

Better for families than business

Arrived late and nobody answered the phone so spent 15 mins in the dark trying to find staff as signage for restaurant was very poor in the dark. I was expecting a lodge but actually got an adequate but very basic room. The setting was very pretty and staff most helpful .

Nice resort just not for a single female.

Comfortable and clean but hair dryer didn't work properly and a light bulb was out. I only wanted a room for the night. Food is served across the road from the rooms in the club house but I didn't eat there. Its part of golf and bowls resort and didn't see any females so felt awkward as a lone female to eat or sit at the bar. Handy for local attractions like monkey world, tank museum and Lulworth cove and close enough for me to go to my usual destination of Swanage and Studland. I would stay again just to shower and sleep but would eat in town. If into golf or bowls I'm sure it would be an excellent venue and would not want my comments to put you off. It just wasn't for me.

The Dorset Resort is located in a quiet area surrounded by natural countryside and the East Dorset Golf Club. Good atmosphere in the Clubhouse and a very decent breakfast. Rooms clean and comfortable.
