We needed a place to spend the night before a transatlantic flight next day. It was the most relaxing night, we ordered food from a nearby place that arrived within 15 minutes. We made a fire in the common area that has a wood burning fireplace, enjoyed a glass of wine the place offered us. The host was great and pleasant. Despite being 10 min from the airport we didn’t hear the noise of airplanes. Very quiet, nested in pistachio trees and vineyards. Definitely the place to stay every time we fly from Athens

My husband and I stayed at the Varaba Country House for one night before an early flight from Athens airport. The house itself is beautifully renovated, our room very comfortable, with a fabulous shower. The highlight of our stay was the dinner, one of the best of our entire trip to Greece, served by our host. Most highly recommended!

They picked us up at the airport, helped us to our room, were super reliable and punctual. What a nice gift too, to find that the staff had left us an espresso machine to make a much-needed cup of coffee in the morning before our next flight. We will definitely come again! Extremely convenient to the airport versus downtown Athens for our early flight the next day. I loved what felt like an authentic experience. It is literally in the middle of pistachio, olive and grape orchards with the only other structure nearby an old historical church. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the best we had during our entire stay in Greece, but the best part were the beautiful grounds to interact with other guests and the property dogs and cats. Definitely get the authentic Greek meal for dinner if you go.

It has a nice country feel with a lovely little church nearby and only 10-15 minutes from the international airport. The breakfast was simple but fresh and delicious. The room was a bit smaller than expected but big enough and the accessories were good quality.

Dinner was extra and was not really very good at all. Breakfast, which was included was very sparse. 1 boiled egg, we all asked for a 2nd, bread, cereal and a small amount of fruit. Definitely not enough to go around for 4 people.

Great Alternative to a boring hotel
Veraba country house is a little gem of a property provided you don't mind being away from shops etc and a bit of aircraft noise .It is set among olive farms out of town about 15 Mins drive to Athens airport. We had a couple of days there to rest up before the flight back to Australia. Breakfast and dinner are provided and you can order in food from a restaurant in town if needed in between.

Very quaint small B&B like property in the countryside. We chose it because of its proximity to the airport, because we had a very early flight the next morning. Limited staff but very friendly and helpful. Provided access to dedicated taxi service, but it was not complimentary. Provided nice family style dinner for a reasonable price. Planes were noticeable at night, so bring ear plugs if that would bother you. We left before breakfast the next morning so cannot comment on that. Overall a very relaxing stay. Would stay here again.

Part of my hopes nobody sees the good reviews this place is getting because as soon as word gets out how peaceful and lovely this place is (and affordable, and the dinner is delicious and abundant, and the service is stellar, etc etc etc), it’ll be booked into eternity. It was a quick overnight stay close to the airport. Property is very nice in the country side. Checkin was seamless, the staff very friendly (as well as the resident dog and cat) and very comfortable surroundings to sit. The dinner they served was very well prepared. And we were able to view a 12th century church just next to the hotel. The only negative we could say was the room that we had (which was the smallest) had a very tight bathroom and was difficult to ventlate when taking a shower. We would recommend choosing a larger room.

This hotel is a short drive to the Athen's airport yet in the middle of the country. You are surrounded by olive fields, grapes, and across the road from a 12th century church.

Beautiful little hotel a short ride from the airport. We were a party of 11 and had 6 rooms, all unique, all spacious by Euro standards. Pristine condition, exceptionally clean. We had dinner there upon arrival and it was not only an excellent value, but excellent food as well. Staff is friendly with perfect English. Beautiful 12th century chapel across the street. I never leave this positive a review, but this place is exceptional.
