Great hotel if cycling C2C, as they serve breakfast from 4am. Cycles allowed in rooms too. Very clean, although my bathroom was very small and fitted with a movement light, which meant it going dark whilst in the shower

Stayed to do the c2c bike ride very accomadating . Bar was well stocked with a good choice and breakfast at 4 oclock which was very appreciated and served with a smile

My First Choice in Seascale

Superb location on sea front with plenty of parking behind hotel via very narrow alley.
Stayed in Room 3 - stunning view over the beach / bay - comfortable 4 poster bed - plenty of power points - heating controlled via App - excelent wi-fi - limited choice of tv channels.
Food - plenty of - excellent quality.
Staff all very helpful & friendly.
Gets full regularly so book early.

nothing around, just average

No staff around as you enter the hotel, even rang the bell and nobody appeared. Just an envelope on the side with our name on, left to figure the rest out ourselves. Hotel is on the beach but other than that there’s absolutely nothing to do around the hotel at all, not even a pub to go for a drink. No food served in the hotel on certain nights. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The Mississippi and I came away for a Bank Holiday break and I found this hotel out of pure luck. I’m glad I did. The location was superb, staff were amazing and the breakfast was fantastic.
We have nothing but great memories for our first visit to seascale.

Reasonably priced Seaside hotel

Staying at the Hotel for business reaskns. The Bailey Ground hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff helpful. Breakfast was good with the Evening meals (including specials board) giving a good range to meet many tastes. Would definitely stay there again. Think Hotel would also appeal to walkers and hikers.

The hotel has a great location - right on the beach. The breakfast was very good - plenty of food, a dining room with a sea view and friendly service.

On a very wet and windy night, the room was warm and heating worked well!

The free phone calls in the room were a GREAT idea - especially as mobile coverage on the Cumbrian coast is woefully inadequate.

The room decor was very dated and mismatched and the facilities were lacking - no shampoo or soap; a macerator toilet (\"don't throw anything down!\") but no waste bin in bathroom; generally needed a makeover.

I stayed in a four poster bed room with Sea view. Lovely rooms, comfy bed and very clean. Tasty cooked breakfast .
Only negative . Stairs for the room above was above our room (3) & it was very noisy.

Nice hotel, reasonably priced, great spot

We visted this hotel as we wanted to climb scarfell pike. It was the perfect location we could see the mountains from our bedroom and the front of the hotel was on the beech so got the best of both worlds. We took our Dog with us and the staff were very friendly and great Ice creme parlour down stairs. Would definitely visit again next time we plan trip to the Lake District.

More of a guest house than an hotel. Mostly contractors staying here (doors banging from 6am - you won't get a wink of sleep after that), help yourself to a room key. Accessibility poor, steps everywhere, bar doubles up as the local pub. Narrow entrance to the car park, which is large enough to accommodate vehicles for the number of rooms. Bar menu in the evening, but unable to cater for my gluten intolerance, so I called in at the local CoOp. Iffy, cheap toiletries, good job I always bring my own. Main phone number on the website unobtainable, and nobody around when I arrived. My booking had not passed though, but there were a couple of room keys left out, so I just filled out a form and took one. Unfortunately for me it was the furthest away from the entrance, so had to carry my bags up a couple of flights of stairs, through fire doors and a very narrow corridor to get to my room. I'm not that mobile (hip and knee trouble), so this was quite literally a pain. Checking out has to be done the night before leaving, pay in the bar. Poor tv signal, few channels, even though Freeview. Plus side, free phone calls from the phone in the room to some area codes, great with the intermittent mobile signal in the area.

Pro's - clean sizeable room, fast wifi in bedroom, good sized tv, fri madly staff, nice breakfast, good location on sea front.
Con's - non really. But the hotel is full of work men (most of them well mannered) and would not be ideal for a romantic break.

Nice Place in lovely Grounds.

Transferred to their other hotel Kellett House in Gosforth as their bar and dining room in Seascale were closed. It was excellent and even though this other place was more expensive they kept it at the same price. The food in the restaurant was great and the staff lovely and friendly.

Wonderful Breakfast

We went originally to the hotel on our arrival, but were told we were in the lodge about 3/4 mile away. This was quite satisfactory and the room had a wonderful sea view. Although the rail track was close to the hotel there were very few trains passing.The staff were very friendly and the breakfast quite outstanding.

Very enjoyable stay here. It was very comfortable and clean. The four poster bed was a nice touch and the shower was just beautiful. The view from our room was really beautiful of the beach and the waves. The staff were really helpful and offered to order us pizza or Chinese because they had stopped serving food at the time. We needed up eating takeaway chineese in the hotel restaurant and looking out at the view of the sunset. The bar was nice and handy too. We brought our 7month baby with us and overall it was a very enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend it.

This was a weekend away, the hotel was clean and tidy, staff very friendly the four poster sea view room was very very good, the food was excellentat for dinner, the beakfast was very good. the only thing i could put a fault on was there was not much to do outside the hotel.but all in all it was a very pleasent stay

Other than thin walls and someone clearly with hearing problems having to turn the TV on at 5am as loud as possible, very good. I was in room 10, noise from room 6, which was about 20 ft from my room. Some people.

The place was a little odd. The desk isnt staffed, you go to the ice cream parlour next door for your room key then just leave it in a bucket when you leave. The lady who helped us was incredibly friendly though. Once you found her she went out of her way to help you. We ended up hanging out in the pub downstairs. The food was excellent, best fish and chips we had in the UK. Good atmosphere and decently priced ale. Overall the room was ok. The bed was very lumpy but the room was clean

Fantastic location, I had a room with a beautiful sunset view, I never seen anything like that in any hotel I was before. Very clean rooms, great food and nice personnel. The only minus was that in the village where hotel is located was only one shop, but we had a car so no problem for us. Would definitely come back.

Friendly and Functional

The room was functional and basic. Ensuite was fine. Everything was clean. Good sized car park with plenty of space. Biggest plus point the very friendly, helpful and cheery staff - quite happy to accommodate very late check, nice bar, good breakfast service.
