The rooms were very comfortable and well decorated. The breakfasts were delicious snd the staff were extremely helpful! The only thing I could find fault with was the walls of the bedrooms. They were very thin and you could hear a lot from the next bedroom.

This was the fourth time we had spent the night here for Bonfire night. Unlike the last few times, this was very different. The room was very clean as always however, the heat was unbearable it was like the middle of summer even with the AC on. There were no amenities for the dog, compared to last time when she was made to feel like a guest and not just a tag along. With breakfast, the bread tasted like cheap sweet loaf and the butter was unsalted. The hollandaise had too much vinegar in it, I couldn't eat it. No one came over to see if we were enjoying it and they stayed away until we left which made us feel like they didn't wish to hear any criticism. Overall, it felt like a totally different place. We won't be back to stay. on the positive, on the evening the ladies in the bar were amazing, very engaging with the dog, very willing to help regarding cocktails. couldn't fault them, they were lush.

The staff were excellent - really helpful and friendly. The food was delicious - we had a few sides & dessert in the evening, then the breakfast next morning - everything was delicious, really well cooked and the service was great. The room was comfortable and clean (and our little one loved the bunk beds for a family room)

The bedroom was modern, well styled and comfortable.
Cooked breakfast was nice and you could have what you wanted but the buffet was a bit basic and as I have food intolerances was not catered for.
The main hotel areas are a bit tired
has lots of potential to be excellent but think it needs some cosmetic upgrades.
Found internet access difficult in rooms tried to sign in several times without luck.
Car park was good and was a popular bar and food place at night.
Everything shuts at 10pm so is quiet and great for a nights rest
Corbridge is a lovely wee town

Worst of all the breakfast was cold eggs were overdone.
There was no butter or hardly any bread.
There was no extra plates and no tea was offered .

Not sure what’s going on at this hotel. Stayed in June ‘24 and it was clean (although the carpet in the lounge bar was looking dirty as were stairwells to the rooms) and the breakfast was quality local butchers produce and really, first class.

Stayed again early Feb ‘25 and lounge bar carpet is now encrusted with a black sheen of pressed-in dirt (and it’s a cheap office corridor style carpet anyway) and the stairwells to the rooms were absolutely filthy, black and stained..just…dirty and uncared for. Really filthy. Not mud left by walkers, just general grime. Gross. The produce at breakfast was also cheap supermarket stuff, not good at all. We took the suite and there was leftover food in the fridge when we checked in also… The service remains really good though.

Hotel and bar closes down at 8pm. So don't expect drinks or any kind of service after 8pm. Appalling. No milk of any description in the room or the communal fridge so couldn't even make a cup of tea. Breakfast luke warm. Wasn't busy so no excuse. Used to be really good but poor service now and lack of attention to details that matter.

Very pleasant overall. The dinner was excellent but rather expensive. Corbridge cafes etc are expensive as it is a bit of a honey pot. The hotel cost was fine but there was little shower gel in the shower and no soap for the sink area.. I also had to ask for a hairdryer.

Vey tired hotel. Filthy carpet throughout lounge area and stairs to room. Rooms were tired looking but warm and comfortable. Staff friendly but perhaps over-worked as breakfast tables missing butter, menus etc. Fruit salad would be better taken off the menu as only a small bowl and looked old. Did not eat there and neither did many other people by the look of it although the restaurants we ate in town were busy.

Extremely tatty carpets and decor and more like a £80 per night deal instead of the £140 charged for b£b. Breakfast was underwhelming. The hotel has an air of neglect and I would guess that with some investment will not be around for much longer. The food menu was £10 more than the Greens King pub down the road and the dining room / bar are so tired. We opted for Greene King and we’re not disappointed. Plus side - the staff were lovely and the car parking was excellent.

Nice pub/hotel. Visit was spoiled by small but relevant niggles. No milk in room...rang externally to hotel (no phone in room. Roo.m 10) was told it would be sent up. 15 mins later rang again told it would be sent up. 30 mins later had to get dressed nad go downstairs. Told me they'd rang room twice. Clever when no phone. Said milk was on landing. Asked for buscuits (willing to pay) said they only provide 1 for each paying guest but they serve deserts. All they had to do was provide us with a jug of milk (pub was empty) and we would have been happy. Totally unnecessary frustrations. Breakfast next day was lovely both in terms of staff & food.

A good place to stay in a good location.

A really convenient place to stay - easy access to Northumberland and Durham and some nice walks close by. Staff friendly and very helpful. Room pleasant and well-kept with very good shower. Bar/restaurant offers a wide choice of good food and breakfasts are excellent. Coffee is brilliant and the tables out front are a good place to watch the world go by. Always space in the car park but no CCTV there so damage to my car can't be followed up. We spent 4 nights there.

Stayed here many times over the years visiting my parents who live in Corbridge and really like the place. HOWEVER...on Friday 19th May my parents, who are over 80, had an awful dining experience (about 19:30 to 21:00) due to the dining area (which is the bar area too) being incredibly crowded and loud.
They normally try to eat at 18:30 when it is quieter so if you are older or have older parents/relatives try to eat earlier in the evening if possible. During the week it is quieter mind you and never had this problem with crowding and noise.

Hadrian's Wall Trip

Room had only a small window, so not a lot of natural light, but had an air-conditioning unit so was not hot or stuffy. It also had a PS3 with a separate Screen, that the kids loved. Food for breakfast ( included in room rate) and dinner was great quality and reasonably priced, if a little limited.
30 mins travel to Hadrian's wall and museums, and a lovely bakery just down the road, for stuff for lunch.

The Angel is a heritage property in a beautiful location. Corbridge village is lively, with a few lovely shops to explore. It’s also the perfect base from which to visit Hadrian’s Wall, and some of the associated forts, etc. the lounge at the property is full of character, with wood panelling, Chesterfield sofas and a roaring log burner in winter. The bar is more contemporary, and a little tired in places, but the food is excellent…. Especially the hotel breakfast! Our room itself, though, was also tired, especially for what felt like a premium B&B price. For example, the room only had beige blinds at the windows, not curtains (and therefore a poor blackout, and the blind in the bathroom only worked in a makeshift way. The bed was also a little ‘lumpy’ the pillows were rather thin, Wall-mounted TV wiring was all on display, and the bathroom could have done with updating. In general, though, our stay was fine. Rooms may vary throughout the property, in terms of size, quality and character. We would stay again, but we don’t feel the reality of The Angel quite lives up to its marketing and pricing.

3 star accommodation at two prices which is a major thumbs-up, But the staff and the food service is just EXCELLENT !! We stayed for three nights over the New Year and just could not fault this wonderful well-run hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff ( Thomas you made our new years eve ) We have stayed before and this time took family and they have booked to come back later in the year ( The apartment is 5 star and so inexpensive) I look on trip advisor and read some bad reviews and cannot believe that the authors are talking about this wonderful well run Gem of a village hotel...We'll be back !! ...after we have lost all the weight :))

It was just a quick overnight stay for a wedding but check in was super quick due to online pre-arrival information we were asked to provide. The room was very nice, only issue was as this is a pub, it has a kitchen which when the chefs start at breakfast they (rightly) turn on the extractor fan which was like a plane taking off. Nothing to be done about it as they need it for work but I think I would ask for a quiet room next time. The room was immaculate and the 2 ladies who served us at breakfast were fab. Really lovely so early on. Coffee was great, food was very tasty which keeps the trend as I’m as massive fan of eating at the angel! (Sunday lunch to die for!)

Wasn't a problem at all as there's a free car park 3 min walk from the Angel with plenty of spaces.

Good but let down by little things

Plus points. Service was great, staff on the whole were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent, bar has a host of excellent drink choices.
Minus points. Although the bed was clean the rest of the room needed work. There was grime in the corners of the bathroom by the toilet which was easily wiped up with tissue. Also, the room itself clearly hadn’t been hoovered. We had intended to go to a venue across the road for live music as it was New Years Eve. We had rang weeks before and were told there would definitely be live music. However, when we got there there was no entertainment and the place was dead. We decided to return to the Angel as there was a live band on. We only found out the Angel had music on when we arrived on the day. I thought this was strange as we hadn’t been informed of this and were told despite the fact we were staying with them, the event was ticket only. A simple mail shot to people who had booked for new year would have enabled us to decide whether to buy tickets. By the time we got to the Angel the band was nearly at the end of the second part of a three part set. The lady behind the bar was pleasant and said we should be able to get in but the young gentlemen on the door insisted we pay the full entry fee. I just thought that given the fact we had explained this and were staying there he could at least have reduced the price. There was also a great deal of noise up until 5am with people in rooms on our floor.

Mattress in Room 5 has certainly seen better days. Also only a small window which when open was down wind from the kitchen vents.

Lovely relaxing stay in this cosy hotel.

Very pleasant stay, staff and management very helpful and curtious, lovely relaxing breakfast with a really good choice of dishes. Hannah made our checkout quick, and very was informative about the hotel, and locally sourced food served from their kitchen.We will definitely be returning.

The hotel was warm and welcoming.
The staff were friendly and obliging.
Breakfast was beautifully cooked.
However the restaurant did not look inviting.
The seating was generally hard and uncomfortable. Cushions on the chairs would have made a difference.
We went to eat dinner somewhere more inviting and comfortable.
