Save yourself some money and go somewhere else if you want a decent stay. The rooms were ok but the towels were old and scratchy. They give you a tiny little soap container per person to use. The beds don’t have blankets but instead a very thin sheet. There is nobody around in the lobby or cafe area to ask questions or get any help.
At night I found the owner in his office and asked for extra pillows for my husband. He asked why do I need more pillows? I told him my husband has back issues. He said the hotel was fully booked and he didn’t have any extras so he gave me 3 towels and a pillowcase to use as a pillow.
We couldn’t sleep that night, even my 10 year old had a hard time. The next morning we got up to eat breakfast (don’t even bother, its not good) and asked the servers if the hotel was full and they said no so we went back upstairs to look for another hotel for our second night. We had paid for 2 but we decided to leave. Once we told the owner, he said he could not give us our money back so we lost that money.
Look around and stay somewhere else, don’t let the pictures fooled you

You couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay! Everyone was so nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the whole property was spotless. Breakfast was the perfect start to our days with all the smiling faces helping to make our start to the day a happy one. I highly recommend! It won’t disappoint. I’m giving you more stars because 5 is not enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The place is very chill, clean and quiet. Nice little pool to jump in and refresh. There is a nice little patio/lounge area that is totally underused. It would be nice to have a little music out there and offer drinks in the afternoon and evening. A sign on the bar said that they have drinks but no one was ever there. The breakfast is nice. Very simple and basic but tasty, filling and good coffee while you chat with the other travelers.

The unit was fantastic, spacious and comfortable. Some of the usual amenities were missing. A/C was only in the bedroom, not the 800 sq ft living space. Very sparce kitchen items (ie no coffee maker). But the incredible design features of the building and the mosaic architecture was delightful. Totally thrilling. Great pool!

BUT very noisy if you have a room next to the street and on opposite side many barking dogs
If you can’t get a good nights sleep nothing else matters!

The priperty is located in an area that is quiet and peaceful but within easy walking distance to key areas. Taxi cabs on the island are 1.50 USD so its easy to get around. For a 3 star hotel it had all the necesities covered. We spent out time sightseeing and only came back to clean up and sleep. The breakfast was very good and staff very kind.

1. Easy walking distance to airport, malecon, restaurants.
2. Plenty of hot water and (if needed) aircon.
3. Architecture: a big surprise to find Barcelona style 6000 miles from Europe; I took many delightful pictures of the hotel.
4. Family friendly. There were a number of guests with little kids. The breakfast area by the pool was sometimes a bit boisterous, while older folks (me) were sipping and waiting for the coffee to kick in.
5. I had e-mailed them my flight arrival time, and they arranged early check-in for me. Unusual, and appreciated.

An absolutely beautiful property! Spacious room, helpful owner and staff. Poolside breakfast included! Not quite in the heart of everything but very walkable. Cabs are readily available for the airport or further distances. Very safe.

Cheap is a better word than eco-friendly

We stayed at Hotel Katarma for one night after we stayed at Galápagos Sunset for 2 nights. We decided to stay in San Cristobal one extra day and Sunset was already booked. We have Katarma a chance because it was in the price range we usually like for a good hotel and it was within walking distance of the airport.

For how much money you pay for this hotel, it is not worth it. I woke up in the middle of the night crying because I was so cold and this hotel only provides you with a sheet. NO BLANKETS. This hotel is cheap and acts like it is eco friendly.

The towels were dirty when we got them and none matched — mine smelled 100% like Old Spice cologne and my boyfriend’s smelled like it was used to mop the floor.

Then we tried to get breakfast before going to the airport and literally walked up to the counter where the eggs were being cooked and we were not helped. We were so confused what was going on because the only things we saw were fruit, yogurt, and a croissant. After over 10 minutes finally the manager/owner walked up to us to ask if we wanted eggs, after we literally stood at the egg counter and looked the cook dead in the eyes.

The owner did help tell us how to get to the airport. That was the one good thing I can say…

The art was funny and we enjoyed the quirkiness of this hotel.

Price is not worth it for this hotel!! Go stay at Sunset or somewhere else.

Sehr gut!

Alles war sehr gut! Der Besitzer David war sehr hilfsbereit und durch ihn, wurde unser Aufenthalt noch schöner, da er uns mit Lokal Tipps weiterhelfen konnte. Sein Angestellter (leider kennen wir den Namen nicht) leistet sehr gute Arbeit und zauberte uns jeden Morgen ein tolles Frühstück. Der Standort ist perfekt und sicher, die Zimmer geräumig und sauber und das wir die Küche für unser Baby noch nutzen durften, war das i-Tüpfelchen.

Nice staff, amenities could have been better

This was a clean hotel in a nice location close to the port (but not too close where you are near the noise). Staff was very nice and friendly. Air conditioning and wifi were nice to have. Room was very basic with barely any amenities and there was hardly ever a staff member at reception if I needed something.

Charming Artsy Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Katarma. Loved all of the art work, sculptures, and tile work throughout the hotel. A lovely young woman, who spoke perfect English, was friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The morning breakfast was very good and served in a nice, open-air room next to the pool. The location was convenient to walk to town and restaurants.

Stayed here for 6 nights. The hotel is in a good location - a short walk to the harbour front with its seals and restaurants and also a walkable or 5 minute taxi ride to the airport. The owner was very helpful suggesting places to visit and ordering taxis.
The hotel itself is very clean, the rooms are large and there is a very welcome pool.

hotel with much art

it's a beautiful place, very different from regular hotels, mosaics and paintings are everywhere. it's owned by an artist, his son received us and was ready to help any time. a nice swimming pool, we were lucky to have almost exclusively for us since at that time there weren't too many guests. the breakfast is good but about the same each day. the room was fine but opened to the bathroom. specifically, the toilet is completely open so you have to be VERY intimate to share this room and the bathroom.

A very nice and artistic boutique hotel near the pier. Owner and son and their staff are friendly and courteous. The common areas are huge and cozy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The experience was less than I have expected,
There is no clear information from the Airport to the hotel. Therefore I miss 2 days off the reservation due to the distance between the Airport in Isla Baltra to Isla San Cristobal where the hotel is located.

For that reason the experience was not pleasant lots of waste of time, and I have reserved 2 days in different hotel to make back to the Airport on time to take the flight back to Quito.

Beautiful hotel at a really reasonable price. The mosaics were fantastic.
A few things however let it down:
1. Lack of air conditioning. We weren't convinced by the \"Eco hotel\" excuse.
2. A large group of fishermen staying were allowed to dominate, apparently even cleaning their fishing gear in the pool.
2. After they left the owner's family seemed to have been invited to stay and again seemed to want to dominate the communal space. Their kids were uncontrolled and very noisy.

how to do the Galapagos: land, then sea!

we stayed here three days on our way to a five day Galapagos cruise. I would recommend this experience and this particular place to anyone contemplating a cruise. take a few days to settle into island life, slow down and experience the region and the land. Galapagos is much more than just a ship and animals! the staff is incredible solicitous and efficient; the place is an artistic wonder, full of tile murals and stucco creations. the pool is great, the breakfast is also. and it's so convenient to downtown!

Ich bin von dem Hotel enttäuscht und kann die guten Bewertungen nicht verstehen. Der Service ist im Hotel eine Katastrophe. Es ist nur morgens zum Frühstück überhaupt Personal vorhanden, und zwar nur eine Praktikantin und ein spanischsprechender Mitarbeiter. Sonst ist i.d.R. den ganzen Tag kein Personal vorhanden. Das Frühstück besteht aus labbrigen Croissants oder Brötchen, etwas Obst und im besten Fall Eier. Die Liegen am Pool sind unbequem und teilweise beschädigt. Es gibt z.B. keine Hotelbar, an der Getränke gekauft werden können. Handtücher für den Pool liegen einfach nur aus (ohne Ausgabe) und sind alt und teilweise stark verschmutzt. Die Standard-Zimmer sind mit ca. 135 Dollar pro Nacht komplett überteuert. Mir hat es nicht gefallen und ich würde nicht mehr dort übernachten.

デラックスアパートメントの部屋を利用しました。
写真通りのイメージの広々としたリビングとベッドルームがあり、とても清潔で快適な滞在が出来ました。
繫華街から少し離れているので終日静かです。

道向かいに夜遅くまでやっているスーパーマーケットがありますので、そこで食材を調達して部屋にあるキッチンで料理もできます。
食器やカトラリー、大型の冷蔵庫も完備されています。

WIFIも良い速度が出ます、日本とのweb会議もストレスなく出来ました。ワーケーションにもオススメします。

唯一残念な点は、リビングルームにエアコンが付いていないのでベッドルームから冷気を回さないと日中は暑いことです（ホテル側もそれは分かっているようで、大き目の扇風機が２台備え付けられています）。

この点を差し引いても値段以上の価値があります。
サンクリストバル島の滞在にはこのホテルをお勧めします！
