Refreshing to stay in a unique property like this as a nice break from sterile, chain hotels. We had a very spacious room with a cozy, traditional feel and a lovely view. Nice touches like a towel warmer, tea setting etc.

Five hurrahs! We booked at the Cashel House because of our lovely memories of our first stay in 2019. Thus classic hotel is a stately and comfortable building surrounded by luscious gardens in a gorgeous part of western and wild County Galway. The dining room offers very limited menu of the most freshly prepared foods served by an attentive staff. Lots of nice coastline, abbeys, and remote valleys within easy reach.

The property is old and unwelcoming. He staff were not welcoming and treated us with suspicion because we told them we wanted to change the booking to one night not two. I was told there may be some kind of a small charge. When we checked out the next day they had the brass neck to charge us in full - that makes it nearly €800 for one night. It’s not worth it don’t go there.

Fantastic dog friendly place to stay.

We and our two little dogs had a wonderful stay. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean. As its an old building the plumbing isnt always great so water pressure for showers is not great. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. We had the delicious breakfast every morning and it was lovely to be abe to take those beautiful walks with amazing sea views.

Staying at the Cashel House Hotel was like a step back in time...the house/hotel has been lovingly restored and maintained by the current owners, complete with original paintings, antiques and furniture. To arrive here on a blustery Irish day, one steps into a world of country manor comfort and service that comes with staff who have maintained this place lovingly for the last 50 years. Each room was elegant and looked out on immaculately groomed gardens that are historical in themselves. You can take walks through the grounds at your leisure, walk down to the shore, take drives into the villages that surround this very special area. A must-see for anyone who wants a taste of wild Ireland and bespoke retreat. Will definitely return!

It's a stunning location, and the staff were friendly. The food was straightforward, but wonderfully fresh and local. It was the little things which, to me, make a difference. But perhaps its the COVID times that make doing these things properly more difficult than usual. I would recommend Cashel House for sheer relaxation opportunities if you just want to get away from it all, so peaceful are the grounds and gardens.

A Great Stop on the Wild Atlantic Way

A really charming and special place in a glorious location - Connemara is very beautiful and this hotel is spectacularly placed on the Wild Atlantic way. The rooms are a little tired but it is exactly what you would expect of a family run hotel. the restaurant serves until 8pm so we just squeezed in for dinner, which was just as well as there is no where else nearby - the food was locally sourced and well cooked with a nice choice and a good wine list. The staff were all extremely helpful. It was also great to find out that General de Gaulle stayed here, giving an extra little historical interest to our stay. Although we only stayed for one night, I am still enjoying the memories of our visit and would definitely go back.

Wonderful location .. a quiet spot. Cashel House manages to feel quite remote but provides a good base for exploring Connemara.
Would recommend to friends with hesitation...there is a difference between ‘country house decor’ and old fashioned. The public rooms were tasteful, the bedroom and ensuite were outdated and needed full refurbishment.

Quaint and quiet

This is an older establishment that has a bit of history to it. It is located in County Connemara in a remote area. Very quiet and relaxing. We were greeted by the manager Ray and he was very helpful in getting our bags in and upstairs.
There is evening dining onsite. A 4 course meal which while filling was not excessive. We ate there both nights and the service and food were wonderful. The wi-fi only works reliably in one room of the hotel, but there is a fireplace in that room which makes it cozy. The decor is a step back in time of about 50 years, but if you know that going in, then it is acceptable. Wondrous gardens on the grounds. There is a generous breakfast buffet served as part of the night stay, much to pick from, fresh meats, yogurts and they cook a meal to order for you in addition to the buffet at no extra charge. The coffee was more in tune with Americano than other places we stayed in Ireland, so it was much appreciated that it was not too strong.

Wonderful 2 night stay at Cashel House. Exceptional service and attention to detail. Room very clean. Comfy bed. Only drawback is the dated decor and fixtures (e.g TV, phones, lamps). Rooms need updating.

Not to be missed!!!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and ate dinner there every night. It was a truly wonderful experience! The rooms are very clean and have their own little sitting area for watching TV or reading. The hotel is furnished with wonderful antiques which help add an extra air of elegance. It Is situated on several acres of gardens, which are a must see. They are truly worth the visit just to walk around the gardens. They also serve lunch and tea and then walk you could walk around. Dinner was all so good.Everything was fresh from local sources or their backyard. I have celiac disease and they had gluten free bread for me and lots of choices for dinner. Everything that we had to eat was fantastic. We were also in luck that for several of the nights that we ate dinner, they had a Harp planing. It is run by a son and his Mother. And they do pay attention to details. It was a delightful stay and we will stay again.
