Staff was Rude- our room wreaked of raw sewer.
Staff was not helpful in explaining anything. They seemed annoyed when asking questions
Smell was so bad we didn’t want to stay in our room.
We didn’t move because we fortunately were just there temporarily until our house we rented was ready.

The Livingstone is a really nice place to stay. It is a 2 minute walk from Jan Thiel and Papgayo beaches which are beautiful. You can snorkel right there and see all sorts of amazing fish. The water is crystal clear. We stayed in a standard two bedroom villa. It comes with a parking spot if you rent a vehicle. There is a supermarket that is a 1 min walk away that has most things you need. The villa was very clean, really cute! Beautiful gardens and palm trees surrounding. The pool in the main building is enjoyable. The staff are kind, but the responsive through Expedia is lacking. They send automated messages and if you respond in the Expedia application, it is hit or miss if you will get a response. If you are planning on doing your own cooking there, there have most things you need. Pack your own French press though for coffee. We checked with the front desk and they didn’t have anything for making coffee. Also pack your own Tupperware and seasonings. The location is to the south of Willemstad so if you want to travel to the beautiful beaches to the north like playa piskado, it is a solid 60 minute drive. About a 30 minute drive to downtown Willemstad. They do not have a functioning gym on site despite what the wedpage says. It is under renovation (what I was told). The gym (the challenger) is available & 1 min away, it cost about 100 cg for one week pass. The gym is also busy and also only has two Olympic bars. It is mostly technogym machines. It will do, but not the best.

The reason why I gave this hotel a \"terrible\" grade is that I didn't stay there.

Though advertised as having a room available, when I arrived, I was told they didn't have one and claimed they told Hotels.com there were no rooms. This was annoying because my flight was cancelled due to a storm in New York and I wouldn't be able to get back home until Thursday. I was forced to take other accommodations which were horrible.

My question was, why would they advertise rooms that aren't available? I couldn't get a straight answer.

Very nice. Have been here before. Great location. Only issues were the taps in bathroom was broken off , door handles in both bathrooms broken fell off. Need to leave more garbage bags in the room. Also would be helpful to have a broom and a mop so if you spill you can sweep it up and not have to wait for someone to come and do it. Little things like this would be very helpful.

Poor sound buffer between rooms. The basic rooms have a king size bed and a single bed so they fit three adults. We were unlucky to have 3 college aged students in the room next to us and another three in the room across from us. Its not a party resort so we were probably just unlucky but the sound barrier was so poor i think we would have ran into a similar issue if there was a family with small children in those rooms. The resort itself was nice and very clean but being woken up so often really dampened the experience for us. We could even hear one of the men puking from our room : ( They were unable to move us bc they were fully booked.

Our first visit to Curaçao did not disappoint…it was fantastic! Livingstone Jan Thiel is a wonderful resort. Great staff, very clean, great amenities, lots of chairs around the pool. The food was excellent.
It’s less than a five minute walk to the beach with tons of restaurants, bars and beach chairs. The snorkelling is incredible. Would recommend this resort over and over.

Views were gorgeous! Place was very clean when we arrived, but the unit didn't have dish soap or garbage bags to keep it clean in-between cleaning days. Grouds were well kept up and clean. Breakfast was always good and location of resort was amazing!

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. Was clean quiet location only down side was it was needing some fixes. Toilet sink faucet was broken. Washroom cabinet was falling apart. Ac in the smaller room was very noisy and would cut out during the night. When ordering food it was never ready or their online order didn’t work. Food was tasty when you finally got it.
Is a great distance from the grocery store and beach and other restaurants. Safe area will definitely recommend the hotel for location.

We got a two bedroom villa, which by itself was not bad overall but there were a few reasons why we wouldn’t stay there again. Firstly the layout. Both En suite bathrooms didn’t have a door from the bedroom, which maybe okay for 2 couples but for a family a no-go. Another thing was that one of the En suite bathrooms didn’t have a toilet(shower and sink only), the toilet was by itself in a small separate room in the living room area. There was also a foul odor, from what we thought was the septic system outside of our villa every time we drove in and out. The room our daughters shared, the floor started getting wet, I scanned the barcode in the villa to report it, never saw anyone come by and never heard anything back. Also, while not a deal breaker by itself, the villa was only cleaned once every three days.

The room was clean throughout the duration of our stay. Staff were curtious and were helpful. Breakfast menu was better offering several varieties. Pool is usable from 7AM to 7PM. The resort provides with passes to visit Jan Thiel Beach and Mondi Beach which usually require purchases. Overall a better stay for your money. Book early to avoid higher rates.

The property is clean and generally well maintained, with a nice pool area and an on-site restaurant.

However, multiple issues significantly reduced the value of the stay. The bathroom layout lacked doors for showers and toilets, and one bedroom had no toilet at all, resulting in very limited privacy. Although the porch was large, the balustrade was so tall and solid that it almost completely blocked the view.

There was an intermittent sewage odor across the resort, at times strong enough that we had to keep doors closed. The kitchen lacked basic starter items such as dish detergent and a sponge.

The laundry facilities were poor and overpriced: $6 to wash and $6 to dry, yet the dryer did not work properly—even after a full 45-minute cycle. There was also only one washer and one dryer for the property.

Most importantly, we booked and paid for an ocean-view villa but were assigned a garden-view unit instead. The property refused to refund the price difference and suggested canceling through Expedia and finding alternative accommodations, which was not realistic. Expedia attempted to assist, but the issue remained unresolved because the property declined to authorize a refund.

The accommodations provided were not as described at booking, and the lack of resolution significantly affected value for money. We would not return or recommend this property.

Our villa was everything we needed, it great condition, clean and had mostly everything we needed. We loved the location and the staff tried to accommodate us every time we had a need. To note, we started in a street side room and it was way too noisy but we were moved and it was a perfect stay. Also note the rooms are cleaned every third day and towels can only be exchanged the next day not multiple times per day. Neither were a big deal for us.

We had booked a 2 bedroom villa for our family at Livingstone Jan Thiel and it was the perfect stay! Very spacious and clean. Loved the terrace area, we had breakfast every morning out there. Had all the basic necessities. Resort is quite large so it was a bit confusing navigating through it to get to our villa sometimes but they do give you a map. Close to the beach with lots of restaurants. Supermarket right across the street but I found it was a bit expensive compared to orhers. We will definitely stay here when we visit Curacao again!

Our stay was very enjoyable, and we had a great time. We appreciated being able to walk to the beach and the supermarket whenever we needed something. Our only suggestion is to replace the mattresses, as two out of the three bedrooms in our villa had mattresses with noticeable dips, which caused some back pain. We didn’t complain since it was just a weekend stay, but despite that inconvenience, we had a wonderful experience with a beautiful view. We would definitely come back!

There was mold in one of our rooms and had no bath towels. They sent maintenence to clean the mold - he tried to wipe it off but it didnt come off and front desk didnt care. We also had no bath towels and when we asked they said to use what we had in the room - hand towels. So we had to use the same small hand towels for 3 days before getting regular bath towels. Interior is very plain, but the outside of the property was nice and we did enjoy the outside seating area of our villa. Overpriced budget property but with a nice exterior and good location.

The proximity to Jan Thiel beach and restaurants is perfect. There is also a grocery store 5 minutes walk which was very convenient. We found both pool areas very nice, but the main pool seating arrangements are mostly cabanas, so we found there was a shortage of loungers most days. We are at the restaurant for lunch and one breakfast. The food was just okay. The staff were all amazing, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a deluxe apartment and really enjoyed the balcony. There are stairs and no elevator, so a little tough getting the luggage up and down but it’s manageable. We did need a converter to charge anything in our room. Plenty of parking around the resort. Overall it was a pleasant stay!

Recently stayed a week. Great location to Jan Thiel beach and area. Grocery store nearby was handy. Disappointed in hotel amenities as an only provided coffee the first day (3 Nespresso pods), 2 bottles of water and not replenished. Our fridge leaked, safe did not work and we mentioned a few times and door did not have a dead bolt.
It was a good room just to sleep but very basic in all the other amenities.

This is our second time staying there. We really enjoyed the private pool and our 2 bedroom villa which was very spacious. The staff is always very attentive and nice. 5 min walks from the beach, restaurants and grocery store.

You pay for what you get. If you are looking for a hotel just to shower, sleep and go then this is your best bet. Other than that do not expect much at all. We stayed for 7 days and it was average, the check in process was poor (waited for 30 mins after a 7 hour flight), the hotel room was flooded at the corner of the bed and the ceiling had moulds. If you are renting a car, then parking is very difficult to get as the entire is area is always filled, do not expect a parking to be designated to you. Based on what we saw in the picture of the room was completely contrary to what we received. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to a friend.

If you’re looking for somewhere in the city, this location wouldn’t be best, it’s like 30-40 mins away from the airport & taxi fees are like $50-$60 USD. The hotel is pretty nice and the food is good as well. We did find one roach in our room, but nothing too worry about. The beach is like a 8min walk away. The staff is pretty nice & there are a few things to do around. We liked it!

If you get a single room upstairs be prepared to lug your luggage up high pitch he’d stairs. Although a nice gentleman on a golf cart offered to take our bags up the stairs. Room had a hair in the sink when we arrived and tiny ants. We informed the front desk. Great location. Good value. On site resorption had really good food at a fair price. Parking was very poor.

The checking process was horrible, when we got there we had to wait 1 hr before getting our rooms ready for us, pillows were uncomfortable, caused pain in my husband’s neck. Maintenance on the property was not great the AC was dirty. No microwave in the villa. Sheets were not enough, they never checked on us to see if we needed anything.

The property is nice and well kept. The staff isn't very helpful especially at the front desk. There was a broken light in our suit i asked them to fix it three times, never got fixed. My oven was broke took three days to replace. This was my second time staying here, my first stay was great. I have to say the service declined. My girlfriend stayed in a single room. It was roach filled and the bathroom light was on a sensor so you had to keep moving around for the lights to stay on. It wasn't horrible but they can improve. Pool area is nice with free cabanas!!

Nice resort, our family stayed here in Aug 2024. Nice rooms, but rather dark and plain. Rooms were clean and safe. Reception staff were friendly and we had no problems. Parking was available for free in the resort as we had a rental car. Restaurant food was average, the menu was largely pasta, pizza, and hamburgers. There is a main pool in the centre of the resort which is large and clean. The resort is a 2 minute walk to the gorgeous Jan Thiel beach area. You get a free entry pass from staying at this resort, anyway entry fee is only like 3USD without the pass. You will need a rental car to get to this resort from the airport, or you will have to take a taxi which will likely be upwards of 40USD one way as the ride takes 20 to 30 minutes from the airport. This resort is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from the centre of Willemstad, but the proximity to Jan Thiel beach is worth it because there arent any beaches like that in town. Also good to stay near Jan Thiel beach if you are thinking to go to Klien Curacao island because many of the catamarans to that island leave rom Jan Thiel beach

Property was amazing. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. It was beautiful, within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Staff was friendly. 10/10.

There was urine on our toilet when we arrived but they quickly cleaned it. Everything else was spotless. Good at the hotel wasn’t great but there are a tone of restaurants nearby so we didn’t mind much. I’d stay here again.
