We booked this hotel, with price $134 from expedia, but we were charged more than $134, when we asked the receptionist, he said that his price is correct, we showed him our expedia hotel confirmation, he did care. Very disappointing. We won't come back and book this hotel anymore.

Pleasent Stay

Comefortable and pleasent stay and an enjoyable 3 day break away from the UK,Hotel is situated just across from the Railway Station and a few minutes away from centre of town ,Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful ,the Hotel is old and dated but comfortable to stay and the breakfast was very good,i would return to stay again if ever in Venlo.

A different room to my previous stay, yet although smaller it was acceptable nevertheless. Bed comfortable. Breakfast every day from 7am, is good for a traveller like myself. The provision of hot food at breakfast was much appreciated. Staff were attentive when required.

Character and comfort.

Located opposite the rail and bus stations and a short walk to the town centre, it's very convenient. The character hotel was very welcoming. The single room was a decent size and comfortable. Only a small pillow was provided ( a huge square one was in wardrobe). Bed was ok and I slept well. Breakfast was a delight with hot and cold fare. Though replenishment wasn't always timely. The food at the restaurant was pleasing to the eye and delicious. We tried all the appetizers. The room was dusty and carpets throughout should be replaced. Overall I would eat there again for sure. They would need to update some things in the hotel itself for me to stay again.

More than a bit drab.

The Hotel was worn out to say the least.
The rooms lack mosquito screen, so since no air-conditioner, you have to open the windows, and all kinds of insects fly in.
It has a great location, across the street from the train station. breakfast is tolerable.

Great people deserve great reviews

On entering the hotel we were greeted at reception warmly
There was an issue as the booking which was made on my phone had not yet reached the hotel but the gentleman on reception was ultra professional and got us booked in with no fuss
He was helpful with directions to the town and places to eat
On our return we were greeted and were made welcome at the bar
The chefs from the kitchen also came through to talk with us and made the whole stay pleasant

Came for an overnight stay to watch VVV Venlo at football. Free parking was ideal. And it is literally 20 metres from the train station. Room furniture was dated but served its purpose and it was comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Breakfast ok however the restaurant food at night was very impressive and i would highly recommend.

I chose this hotel only because of its location - just across the street from the railway station. The expectations were pretty low so I was not disappointed. Everything that you would expect from an old-school 3* hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was very responsive. The breakfast was rudimentary.

Excellent Biker friendly hotel.

A small group of us used this hotel for a night while touring Europe. The staff were very helpful and let us leave luggage in a garage that opened out onto their car park (saved carrying a lot of stuff that we didn't need to our room).
The hotel is close to town (directly opposite Venlo Train Station) and is clean and tidy, while a splendid breakfast set us up nicely for a days riding.
I will definately be booking this hotel again.

The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. However, there was someone smoking outside my window; or theirs and it was coming into my room. The floors were very creaky and loud. The people above me were walking around all night, well past 02:00. The walls are very thin too. I could hear conversations through the wall.

Nice hotel just opposite the Train Station

The hotel is very central to Venlo, opposite the Train Station. It was great to arrive and not have far to go!

The rooms are nice and big, with huge bathrooms. Each room was clean and tidy with maid service each day. The rooms are basic and are fine. They are not modern rooms, but are very clean. Although our room faced the train station, we did not hear any street noise during our stay.

The breakfast had a lovely selection and it was not busy when we were there. The bar and restaurant were fine, looking out over the busy street. The bar staff and kitchen staff were very helpful, fulfilling each request. However the guy on the front desk was a little short with us, there was no pleasantries, however answered our questions fine.

Not quite what we booked!

Stayed here overnight with a colleague on the outward and return legs of a long European trip. Easy to find in the centre of Venlo, but overall the hotel had a slightly shabby air to it. Booked a twin room for both nights. On the first night we were given two single beds pushed together with no option to move them apart - not a twin! I therefore asked for two single rooms on the return journey, but on arrival they had only allocated the same 'double' as last time. Restaurant was good though, and breakfast perfectly adequate. Overall, the disappointment was that the rooms just did not live up to expectations and the description given.

Wir waren im 3-Bett Zimmer untergebracht. Dies Zimmer lag im \"alten\" Teil des Hoteln. Die Teppiche auf den Fluren waren aus den 70ern (auch so dreckig). Unser Zimmer: Möbel aus den 80ern, kaputt, alles schmuddelig.
Speisesaal hat auch bessere Zeiten gesehen. Gäste habe beim Frühstück am Buffet Würstchen und Rührei fallen lassen. Das lag bestimmt über ein halbe Stunde, ohne vom Personal beachtet zu werden.
Standard Frühstück - ging - der Kaffee war in Ordnung.

Aber 145€ für das Zimmer war eine unverschämtheit - nie wieder.

Plafondplaat bij de kamerdeur was kapot, er ontbrak een bolletje van het nachtlampje en de gang en trappen stofzuigen zou fijn zijn want er lagen gewoon plukken stof.
Bedden waren uitstekend en badkamer was schoon maar douchen in bad is voor mensen van 70 wat lastiger. Ontbijt was perfect.

We waren toe aan even rust en ontspannen na een drukke tijd en net voor weer een drukke tijd. Toen we in middag in hotel weer kwamen om even door te warmen was er ineens kei en keiharde muziek. Toch maar even bij receptie gevraagd. Ja jammer er is vanavond een feestje dus het is wat het is. Geen excuses geen meedeleven niks. In middag kon auto niet van parkeerterrein af ook dat was jammer gewoon even wachten tot dj klaar was. Als feestje vantevoren was gemeld dan hadden we zelf kunnen kiezen.. Bii uitchecken was wel erg behulpzame dame bii receptie. Helaas voor ons nooit meer dit hotel. We hadden echt het gevoel dat het alleen om geld ging en niet de beleving van de gasten.

Das war Katastrophe, die Matratzen waren sehr schlecht und sind hin und her gerutscht. Sehr dunkles und Renovierungsbedürftiges Zimmer ivl Bad. vor dem Bad war ein Loch, wenn man schlaftrunken zur Toilette gegangen wäre, Bestände Sturzgefahr mit Beinbruch gefahr. Die Unterkunft war deutlich schlechter als erwartet. Das 4 Bett Zimmer lag in einem alten heruntergekommenen Gebäudeteil mit Zugang durch den Speisesaal. Enge Flure, gammelige Teppiche auf schiefen Böden. Kein Fahrstuhl wie angegeben. Das war wirklich ein Problem für unseren alten Hund, da er somit sie enge steile Treppe hochgetragen werden musste. Das Zimmer war mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet. Die Betten waren zum Teil sehr schlecht, das Bad dunkel und alt. Das Frühstück war auch schlecht, trockene Brötchen, kaum genießbares Rührei und sonst war auch nichts tolles dabei. Eines der schlechtesten Hotels, das ich gebucht habe. Positiv ist das wirklich nette und hilfsbereite Personal. Dafür gibt es einen Extrastern.

Eine Unsaubere Unterkunft.!!
Das zimmer im ersten stock war für uns älteres Ehepaar in den stark verwinkelten treppenfluren nur sehr schwer ohne Aufzug zuerreichen.
Mit kompletten koffern musste man zudem durch die engen stuhlreihen des Frühstückraumes.
Alles in allem eine sehr überteuerte Unsaubere Absteige.
Sah auf den bildern völlig anders aus.
Sind vorzeitig wieder weitergereist und können dieses Hotel NICHT WEITER EMPFEHLEN.

Viel behoorlijk tegen.

Gedateerde hotel. Overal tapijt. Kamer was bij binnenkomst koud, zag er in eerste instantie redelijk uit. Echter op meerdere plekken scheuren in de wand, gat in de deur naar de badkamer, rand van douche vol kalkafzetting, zeer slecht matras (te zacht en ik had het gevoel dat het bed scheef stond). TV deed het niet, geeb ontvangst.

Goede locatie, tegenover Centraal Station. Kamer had uitzicht op het stationsplein. Goed ontbijt.

Mijn kamer was in een gedeelte zonder lift, sjouwen dus met koffer naar boven.
Toegang richting kamer door de ontbijtzaal terwijl er een kaartclub best veel ruimte innam waardoor de toegang lastig te bereiken was.
Kamer prima maar wat onderhoudsdingetjes zoals twee knipperende spotjes, een kapotte knop van de stortbak en een flink piepende en krakende deur van de kamer.
De schoonmaak had de lampen laten branden (vergeten?), dat vind ik verspilde energie.
Ontbijtbuffet redelijk, de ene dag klein gesneden fruit, heerlijk door de yoghurt, helaas de dag er na niet.
Jammer dat je vanaf de parkeerplaats niet het hotel in kan maar moet omlopen met al je spullen
