Outstanding hotel with beautiful pool

We arrived late evening. We managed to get parked directly opposite the hotel which was great for unloading our things. Receptionist very plesant & helpful at check in. The bedrooms and interior are a little dated but room was still clean. Fridge in the room which have been a nice touch but we managed. Hotel is in a beautiful location. Close walking distance to the town centre. Outdoor pool is stunning and very peaceful. We checked out and asked if we could sit at the pool and enjoy the glorious weather as we checked in after 5pm. This was no trouble and they gave us towels. We ended up sitting for a few hours and had the villa to ourselves which was brilliant. We really enjoyed our stay here and didnt want to leave. It's been the best hotel stay in our 2 week trip. We will definitely be back in the future. Sarat le Canada is such a pretty town.

lack of elevator in 1 wing. You may have to carry your luggage 3 storie up om narrow staircase.
Traffic noise can be very loud even with windows closed.
Parking is on the street, can be dicey in high season.

Wasn’t a good fit for us

The staff was very accommodating and the room very clean. I didn’t find the bed or bedding very comfortable. The AC didn’t work so the only means of cooling off were the large windows next to the lobby entrance (no privacy). If you close the blinds for privacy then you didn’t have a means of cooling off. The refrigerator in the room wasn’t able to keep food or drink cold so we had to throw out a lot. The neighborhood felt safe. There was a beautiful pool though it was too cold to use on Aug 1st. Would not likely stay there again.

Fantastic location and quiet.

Great hotel let down by the staff not having even basic English. Took ages to book in and about 15 minutes to leave. All for €3 surcharge. I realise it's France but 1000's of English visit Sarlat. By basic we're talking yes and no.

Stairs can be difficult otherwise good

Everything good except one side of the Hotel does not have a lift so be careful when booking here if you have luggage to drag up 2 flight of stairs. Also staff have very little English which makes communication difficult. However easy walk to the medieval town.

Although we arrived late due to poor traffic, we had a very warm welcome, a secure car parking space, a clean and comfortable room, and a very reasonable and ample breakfast. We also found a wonderful little Italian restaurant for our evening meal. Great stay in Bernay.

The hotel is old and show it. However, the room size including bathroom was great - plenty of space. The hotel advertises air conditioning but the room do not have it. Open windows were great in May, but in hot days I do not know how comfortable will be.

Found two excellent restaurants ( L'adress and L'esprit Sarlat) . Lovely town centre with many restaurants and shops. Lots of quaint small streets off the main High St.

The Hotel Renoir does not have any parking so beware in July / Aug that it may mean a long walk.

We were happy as received an upgrade on arrival due to warmer weather and apparently the room we booked had no air con - this was a little confusing as I particularly remember booking the comfort room which said air con on Expedia. They said it didn't so upgraded us to a Superior room as it had air con. The room was very clean and modern/comfortable. It was quite large and had an in room safe which we like. The bathroom is a nice size with a shower over the bath. Very good location away from the crowds and an easy walk from the railway (800mtr) and the old area about 5 min walk. Also close to Lidl which we stopped by to get some snacks for a day trips. Easy walk to Europcar also where we hired a car. This room also had an in-room safe

Well placed hotel near old part of town.

Very popular hotel, ie full, so staff busy! I was in an annexe building. Room was good, I had access to a private large stone balcony overlooking the pool, staff joked I could have a party! Building security was good, but about 10 stone steps to reach the annexe building, could be difficult if heavy luggage etc.

The Dordogne is lovely, and the Hotel Le Renoir an excellent place to stay.
Very close to all amenities in Sarlat.
Unfortunately at this time of year there are no Tourist attractions open.
And on a Sunday and Monday very few Restaurants open.
We had to drive many miles to find one Restaurant open for Sunday Lunch.

Excellent stay in this hotel. The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful. We had a late arrival and the lady at reception welcomed us as if she were welcoming us into her own home! She was wonderful! She walked us up to our room and showed us all of the amenities of our room. Huge bathroom with 2 sinks, large counter, and full shower/tub combo. The room was large with a very comfortable king size bed, end tables, two comfortable chairs and desk and tv. The best part of the room? Automatic room darkening shades! We were able to rest and recover from work and jet lag before enjoying the amazing city of Sarlat!

I was very happy to find a reasonably priced hotel with easy walking distance to Sarlat. Most of the hotels in the town are very expensive due to the high tourist volume.
I called ahead to let them know I was arriving late, around 8pm and I think they appreciated that and were expecting me then.

Stayed here a couple of nights. Only warning I would give is that parking is a problem here it seems. We arrived early so were able to park on the street right by the front door. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the room fairly spacious and clean. The pool was refreshing and nice to have if the weather is warm. The buffet breakfast was also one of the better on our month long tour of France. No glitz or glamour but I'd stay here again.

The hotel is within short walking of Sarlat historic town. But it has no restaurant on site, it has no parking other than finding a street space which may be some distance away. The loading area was used by bikers to park their Harley Davidsons overnight so was unavailable to use to load luggage into our car as we left. The bathroom was large but no towel rail or hooks. Very non user friendly.

Both the bedroom and bath were spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff was very helpful with maps and recommendations...one of the employees personally called to make a dinner reservation for us, and another provided us with a band-aid when we needed one. (This may sound basic, but after some of the rudeness/attitude we encountered at OTHER French establishments, we did not take this for granted!) Their breakfast, priced the same as most other hotels, was nicely spread out in an elegant and spacious dining area.
The front door to our building was locked after-hours, but easily accessible with a four-digit code.

As a tip: the hotel entrance is in a small alley between two busy one-way streets, and parking can be tight, so be sure to use the loading area in front to unpack your bags! If you arrive at night and leave by 9:00 AM, the street parking is free.

Very nice and well located hotel in charming town. We had a large loft room with comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Good breakfast value. The staff was very helpful. They even sent my husband's shirt that he left behind on to a later hotel. The only drawback for those who would find it a necessity is there is no lift.

We originally thought that we wanted a smaller hotel locally owned in a smaller town. However, the hotel was comfortable and sitting by the pool was delightful. It was centrally located to the medieval downtown of Sarlat, which had wonderful restaurant options. We initially booked for one night and extended it another night. We would have extended it for the third night, except it was already fully booked.

Very Enjoyable Stay

1. The location was good. On the main street into town, it was a 5-minute walk to the center of the old town. The rooms were along a side street. The station was a 10-15-minute walk (uphill from the hotel) away.
2. The price was excellent.
3. The hotel consists of two buildings. Both are traditional 2-3 story buildings which looked like small chateau. There was a nice swimming pool in between the buildings. I am not sure if there was an elevator in the second building though.
4. I was in the second building. The ensuite room was large, clean and very nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable. TV had CNN. There was also a fridge, which was great for keeping cold drinks. There was individually-controlled A/C, which was great to have, as it was quite hot when I was there in mid June. The bathroom was large, had a nice bathtub, and shampoo and soap.
5. The front staffers were efficient, friendly and spoke English. In particular, a man named Patrick was extremely helpful and made taxi arrangements for me.

this hotel, about 3 blocks from the old part of Sarlat, is very clean with a pool, breakfast area, and bar. there is not much parking near the hotel, though, and sometimes one has to park several blocks away though there is an area reserved for loading/unloading.

Hôtel vétuste, en dehors de la gérante qui fut aimable le personnel ne l’est pas. Refus de réserver une table de restaurant alors que je n’avais pas de réseau téléphonique depuis ma chambre! Le wifi est pauvre pour ne pas dire inexistant, les chambres ne sont pas insonorisées, la clim a plus de 20 ans, les serviettes de Sdb sont rêches et l’hygiène en salle de petit déjeuner laissait vraiment à désirer. Il n’y a que la piscine qui soit bien. 170€ la nuit dans une chambre « supérieure » sans compter les 2 petits déjeuner, soir 195€ pour ça ? Franchement, ça ne les vaut pas.

La réceptionniste étant occupée à la piscine, nous avons attendu 15 minutes avant qu'elle n'arrive...Elle était seule pour tout faire dans cet hôtel trois étoiles.
La chambre est convenable.
Là piscine et ses abords ne sont pas propres. Un endroit à moitié dissimulé sert d'atelier de bricolage, la mosaïque est très abîmée, le revêtement intérieur est souligné d'une bande de saleté jaunâtre. L'hôtel nécessite quelques travaux de réfection.
Lors du check - out, nous en avons fait part à la personne désagréable qui semblait très étonnée.

Séjour en couples avec des amies …. Nous avions réservé une chambre avec Clim … et surprise 1 ventilateur par chambre ! Après en avoir parlé à la pseudo patronne elle n’a rien fait pour proposer une solution en nous disant que c’était de la faute à hôtel.com …. Heureusement que son employé nous a offert les petits déjeuners ( sa patronne lui a même reproché son geste commercial devant nous qu’elle bonne mentalité ? ) . Se seras notre premier et dernier séjour ici , la mauvaise foi et le manque de considération du client est bien la priorité de la responsable … dommage pour elle un gros carton rouge !

Hotel bien situé proche de l’hypercentre! Pas de parking dans l’hôtel et difficile de trouver de la place dans le quartier!
Parties communes de l’hôtel très bien mais la chambre en duplex nécessiterait un sérieux rafraîchissement, le carrelage vert de la salle de bains est désuet, impossible de se tenir debout sous la douche, décoration de la chambre vraiment spartiate, moquette tachée!

je recommande !

Très bon séjour de 2 nuits. Hôtel super ! joli, propre, logée dans le bâtiment \"la villa\", très bien, hormis les escaliers où il devrait être mis des tapis sur les marches pour insonoriser le pas ! la structure de l'escalier fait beaucoup de bruit ! chambre nickel, fonctionnelle, hygiène irréprochable ! belle piscine et très jolis extérieurs. Petit déjeuner très bien. Ils demandent un créneau pour l'heure du petit déjeuner. Documentation bien fournie sur les environs à visiter. QR Code à scanner pour être rappelé en cas de contimation covid Personnel parfait, rien à redire !
