Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the IBIS Sarlat. The staff went out of their way to make you feel really welcome and were incredibly helpful making suggestions on places to visit to make your stay memorable. When there was a problem with the TV, in the room, the staff did their utmost to repair it. When they realised they would have to call someone in, to solve the problem, they immediately arranged a move to a much larger room and helped transfer clothing/other possessions. They were like breath of fresh air and are a credit to the hotel chain. The room was also exceptionally clean which was a real treat to see. If only other hotels were like this. The other great thing is the hotel is located directly opposite from one of the better restaurants, in the town, and is only a 10 min stroll to the medieval town centre which is beautiful to walk around.

The reception staff here was outstanding. I feel bad I lost the note with their names because they truly were exceptional. All four ladies that staffed the front desk in morning and evening were people who see hospitality as a calling not a job. They were kind, patient, gave us good directions, listened to our excitement and shared it. We stayed 5 days so we saw quite a bit of them. One day a large group came from Australia and I watched as one guest came down to complain the room was too hot and then next came down to complain the room was too cold. I marveled at how well the staff handled each situation. And when I asked for a chair in the room instead of an ergonomic ball, they made it happen right away.

Room was bigger than most European rooms. There is laundry onsite if you need it. Breakfast was worth the price and there is beer and wine in the evening. It takes about 10 minutes to walk downtown and the parking garage was very tight - I feared those corners and preferred parking on the street. That aside though, I really compliment the staff and wish I could remember their names (Sara? Hannah?)!!

I enjoyed my one week stay at Ibis Sarlat. It's a very good location, spacious room, very clean, comfortable bed and very friendly staffs especially Noémie. She was warm and welcoming when I arrived. She was also very helpful and patient with all my questions as I needed lots of help in finding tours and transportations. I really appreciated Noémie and everyone for making me feel welcomed .

An all round pleasant stay

Just had the weekend in Sarlat, picked the Ibis for its location and free parking, on arrival check in was swift, no complications, Room was clean and big enough one didnt hit the bed when walking around, Bathroom was adequate and Staff couldnt do enough, always proactive if we wanted something and we could get a night cap at the Bar before bed, didnt take breakfast but it looked good going by how many guests were partaking, an enjoyable stay, have to mention Sarah at reception who was just perfect when we had a request or needed information, Thank you Guys

Excellent comfortable hotel to explore sarlat!

Excellent little hotel close to the center of Sarlat. Very comfortable and clean, especially for the price. The lady at check in was very kind and helped me with a kettle to make some tea in the room. We arrived late (1:30am) but we were happy they waited up for us especially after all the flight cancellations. Upon checkout everyone was friendly. Would stay there again!

They’ve made a good effort to do things ecologically. The room and bathroom were fine. I liked having a window that opened. However, why does France not use window screens to keep the mosquitoes out? Anyway, good sized room. Nice breakfast area and round the clock snacks available. The big negative for me was the horrible condition of the bed. It was like a mountain in the middle where 2 single beds were joined, and a deep valley on each side. 4 nights sleeping in a hammock. I didn’t ask for another room because the hotel seemed pretty full, and probably the same quality bed in other rooms. It was super uncomfortable, especially with the spinal problems I have.

One of the Best Ibis hotels in our opinion

One of the best Ibis hotels we’ve stayed in and we use this chain a lot traveling through France with our dog. It was exceptionally clean and even had complimentary drinking water in room. The underground secure car park was great with direct access into the hotel reception. Only a short 10 minute walk into the beautiful centre of Sarlat where there are many options to eat and drink. Will definitely use again

This hotel has everything we needed. Plus, Sarah, our desk clerk, consistently gave us advice about where to go and she also answered all our questions, in either French or Engllish as we gradually began to use our stale French. The location was great, enough out of the overcrowded Sarlat center to feel independent, but close enough to walk up there at least twice a day. IBIS is well located (good parking upstairs) to drive out into the country to see the many, many unique sites. We did not get their breakfast, but either went across the street to a bakery or to the Lidl. There is no tea service in the room, but you can get their hot water from the machine in the breakfast room.

Room was ok with a comfortable bed although the bathroom was amazingly small. However the staff didn't seem to even try to make the guests comfortable. We were given only one bath towel for the two of us and the housekeeper was ungracious and very reluctant to give us another. The next morning, one of the towels and the bath mat were taken away without being replaced!

Excellent breakfast every single day. The staff is always checking to make sure the food looks good, clean, like you were the first customer in the morning.
The most professional staff ever, knowledgeable and ready to assist with anything you need. With their help we were able to contact taxi service to visit places near by.

We stayed only for one night but would recommend this location. Easy walking distance to the town, ten mins away, where there are fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants. Free wifi and free parking too. Staff very helpful. We didn't take the breakfast so can't comment on that. No tea or coffee facilities but that wasn't an essential for us. There are usb chargers in the room so only cables were needed to charge devices which was really helpful. The room was very clean and the beds and pillows very comfortable for a good nights sleep.

Travelled as a couple on a romantic break.
This hotel is reasonably well placed, an easy 5-10 minute walk into the touristy part of Sarlat. Free parking is included and the underground car park always managed to produce a space (although it does get quite full) and actually has decent sized parking spaces.
Was disappointed to find they permit smoking in the hotel rooms, my room had a distant whiff of smoke when i got into it.
Bed was super comfy and had a good nights sleep.
Didn't touch breakfast so can't comment on that.
Hotel has a corporate feel to it, no luxuries, clinical feel to the room with a laminate wood floor.

We stayed 2 nights and have no complaints. Location is perfect. Walking distance to town centre which is a lovely place to visit, eat, etc. we had originally booked one night but decided to stay a second. Staff were most helpful. We didn't eat or breakfast there. Car park and wifi very good.

After staying in many other Ibis in France, we found this one to be exactly as expected. The room was perhaps a bit larger than others and our first encounter with the prefab bathroom. (The bathroom did not have a tub so was smaller but nicely designed.) Breakfast was also as expected with a nice variety of cheeses, breads, and yogurts. Loved the location with the easy walk to Vieux Sarlat and nice restaurants. Also, this Ibis makes a great \"home\" base for touring the quaint villages nearby.

Not good service - but basic comfortable room

We had a large double room, but the bathroom was so tiny we could barely move in it. Air con wasnt working and reception told us to just open our windows they couldnt help us. 1 towel per guest & no hand towel was not good. Our bed was extremely comfortable. When we checked out after our 2 day stay the young man on reception took a phone call as we were fixing our account. He stayed on the phone, made us wait 10 minutes until we gestured that we were going to leave. He took the city tax money, continuing to talk on the phone & ignoring us. Not even a word of thank you or goodbye. I found the service appalling at this Hotel. Too far to walk to the centre of Sarlat. I would not return.

Pleasant Hotel Close to Sarlat Centre

We've never found a bad IBIS hotel yet. This hotel would be suitable for a one night stay (as ours was) or as a week-long base for exploring the Dordogne... Its compact, clean, comfortable room and bedding were all up to the usual IBIS standards. Reception staff had fluent English and were very helpful in the circumstance of my wife being in a wheelchair. An excellent \"overnight\" in one of the most beautiful towns in France.

This was a last minute booking for us and we were pleasantly surprised. An Ibis in France was not what we had planned. However the staff were great, check in fast, the room comfortable and clean and it was a short walk to the town centre. The only constructive criticism we would add is that while the breakfast was tasty they did run out both days we were there.

Great little hotel, not far from the centre of Sarlat, about 5/10 mins walk. very good service, lots of free parking. The room was a better standard than the usual ibis, with a bed upgrade, meaning new mattress/king size bed. THe room was bigger than the usual ibis too. WE asked for a quiet room away from other guests as we were travelling with our 3 week old baby and didn't want to bother other guests and they listened to us by given us a room without neighbours. Overall, great hotel for a couple of nights stay. My choice for Sarlat if you're on a budget.

Liked the hotel alot. It was not as we have come to expect other Ibis hotels, and for this we were thankful. Interesting 'ships cabin' type fittings including modular bathroom, but very practical. Good parking (complimentary). A rather expensive breakfast considering it was very 'western style' continental.

The hotel was average for the price. The room smelled and I had to spray cologne repeatedly in the room in order to overpower to bad smell. The breakfast was large and varied which was nice. The staff was very helpful and made the stay worthwhile. The location is within walking distance of the cute town of Sarlat, which has some very good restaurants. The shower and bath area was very small. I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget, only.

A little outside of town...but still very nice.

Being away from town added to the quietness that we needed. And it was verrry quiet. Unfortunately, we had to park on the street to check in and there really wasn't a place to park. Once we found a spot to park and got checked in, got our room key, we parked the car in the garage on the top level. But even with our room key, we still couldn't get into the hotel and had to walk back down to the reception area to get into the hotel. The receptionist was very nice when we checked in. And the only trouble was that she was using the Internet a lot for FaceBook when we thought it should be reserved for guests. We did walk to town for dinner, and the walk back to the hotel was a little creepy as it was very dark, and we were not quite sure it was ok because we were just about the only ones walking back. I'm sure it was fine, it was just all new to us. We had a very quiet, restful sleep. The buffet breakfast was yummy and had more than just the usual breakfast items.

Great location

I chose this hotel because it was close to the train station and Hertz rent-a-car location. The hotel more than exceedied my expectation for a two-star hotel. I'd definitely stay there again. You can't beat the location, breakfast buffet and friendly staff.

The reception staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. I toured the Sarlat area for 3 nights and Ibis staff made it all easier.

close to historic centre nd railway

Purpose of trip was to attend Fete de la truffe. The hotel was ideally suited, clean, comfortable and pleasant open reception area. Staff were efficient ,helpful and friendly. Special thanks for finding wallet left in room. Would recommend hotel.
