Good parking, attentive staff, comfy bed, clean well sized room, good price, quiet and smoke (tobacco and other) free, so convenient to highway and downtown. Cons: peeling wall paper, wonky (but clean) toilet, stained tub. I think that a bunch of updates are happening as the 1st floor had a lot going on - did not affect our stay on the 2nd floor. Does have a gym and good sized indoor pool - but didn't use either. Has a hefty check in deposit, for somewhere outside of Miami or any other large city.

My started with a low bar but the staff and staff only made the experience exceptional. Maybe it was because I was there because my dad was in the hospital then passed away, but I have a hard time believing they were only this helpful because of that. Every question was answered. Every request for help was granted.

The negatives were there were key card issues all week. I must have had to have my keycard reset 20-25 times or more. The bar didn’t have any bourbon, and the kitchen was closed almost every evening.

Luckily I was there for just those reasons and some were out of the staffs control.

No one at front desk checking in or out. Charged me double for 150 new maintenance fee for damages?!!! Added 150 to my room fee of 238 And On top of that a separate 150!!! Both charges need to come off. Manager argued with me. Laundry piled up up and down halls, and place looks deserted.

The hotel rooms were extremely outdated and the location is directly across from a questionable neighborhood. The first of our 2 rooms had clearly been smoked in. The staff was helpful and pleasant but the rooms were so bad that we left that hotel and went to another one on Horseheads.

The first room had no heat. The next day they gave us a different room and someone had just used the bathroom. It smelt like feces and men’s hello. Had to ask for another room. The girl behind the desk had to go clean the room while we waited. Bath room fixtures were broken. Not to mention pulled up to screaming and then cops. I will never stay there again.

I booked 2 wheelchair accessible rooms and upon arrival after a long 5 hour drive with children we were sent to non accessible rooms. We went down and asked for the accessible rooms, the desk agent started yelling. He sent us to 2 more rooms, non accessible. Went back and said they weren’t accessible to which he started cursing and yelling at us. He said this hotel doesn’t update online and it’s not his responsibility. He offered us a dirty king size accessible room with no heat. We were so beyond upset and exhausted. Don’t attempt to stay here. We weren’t even able to get a refund.

Check-in was slow and the king suite I paid extra for was just a regular room with a king bed.
The ice machine was out of order, as was the guest laundry, and the soda machine was completely sold out.
The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water.

One huge negative, the entire property smelled like marijuana constantly.
Another huge negative, no included breakfast. If you want breakfast, it’s $12-$15 additional each day.

I accidentally reserved an extra night and even though I selected pay at desk and called in 5 min after the reservation was made and was told it would be cancelled. I was still charged and was told to call back on Monday when a manager was in. I still was unable to get my money back. I will not use this hotel ever again and I'll be sure my family and friends never uses this hotel as well. Such a terrible experience!!

If I had people coming into the area and they were looking for a cheap hotel I'd suggest they go elsewhere. The front desk day staff are never at the front desk. The ceiling was literally falling apart in the bathroom. I had ants. The hotel restaurant is not open the hours it says it is (they're not open for breakfast or lunch despite saying they are). The guest laundry is broken. Locks on doors leading outside are broken. Pretty sure the first floor is mega haunted. I stayed here for almost a month because I had to and would suggest that the hotel close down, fix its problems, and reopen rebranded and new.

This is not a safe hotel. Upon arrival the trainee & manager made a mistake with our keycard and sent us to a room full of other people’s belongings. Thankfully there was no one in the room at the moment as that could have easily lead to a physical altercation putting both my wife & I’s safety in jeopardy. This made us concerned for our own property when leaving the room. The manager brushed off our complaint as if it were not a big deal at all.
We went out of the back of the building to sit at a picnic table. As some people looking for trouble approached we decided to head back inside. NOT A SINGLE CARDREADER ON THE ENTIRE BACKSIDE OF THE BUILDING WAS FUNCTIONAL. We had to walk completely around the building to get inside. If our safety had been in jeopardy we would not have been able to get back into the building in time.
Other issues, a good portion of the tv channels were not working, the general atmosphere of the hotel is dark, gloomy and run down, and there was no breakfast.
On top of all of this we checked out a day early because of the safety concerns and we paid for the second day which we did not stay only to have the hotel turn around and charge us $100 for having checked out early. This place is unsafe and managed very, very poorly.

Property was easy to enter with multiple entry. Room was made up clean but looking under chair cushion for change that dropped we discovered crumbs and pieces of crackers. Restaurant did not open on the Saturday we were there and the Sunday ordered a coffee to start which took 15 minutes and received a water instead. Staff was great at first but upon discovering an additional $75 charge on my card when called for clarification "joe" told me to dispute with my bank and hung up on me. Location though was great as their restaurant was a failure there were a lot of home style cafe nearby.

They gave us , 2 seniors carrying our luggage, a room literally at the far end of the building and told us to use the front door at the reception area. This is a very long walk. I wish a quick breakfast was more available even if I did have to pay; I didn’t have time for a restaurant-style breakfast with uncertain service.

I don’t think high expectations apply to lower-priced rooms, but I think some level of care is appropriate: I was disappointed that the staff couldn’t even provide me with cutlery or a plate to use in my room.

The bar/restaurant closed early even though they were scheduled to be open until 11pm. Pool was not in operation, it was completely drained. Vending machines weren’t stocked could only get water. DoorDash’ed some food and it didn’t come with utensils so asked the front desk and they only had soup spoons to eat a salad and tacos. Couldn’t make change to use in the vending machine cause the vending machine did not take anything over a $1 bill but then tried to use a $1 bill and it wouldn’t work had to find quarters

It’s all about expectations

This hotel was the closest to a 4 day event I was attending. So I booked it without much hesitation. Later on I went back on the booking platform to peruse reviews and was alarmed to read about bedbugs, poor upkeep, towels problems and such.

I’m please to say my room didn’t have bedbugs. But it also didn’t have bath towels and it took a good couple of days to get them despite bringing it up.Housekeeping only came once in 4 days but that frankly didn’t bother me. The keycard worked every day except for the last night. I brought lots of snacks to avoid using their restaurant for breakfast but it looks like at least one morning it was closed due to lack of staff.

Bring an eye mask. The curtains are purely decorative and cannot be closed. There are no window shades so unless you’re an early morning person you really need the eye mask.

The AC works well although it’s rather loud. Between that and the fridge, you’re better off using earplugs.

All in all- if it’s a good deal or really close to where you need to be, it’s a solid option.

Try not to stay here! We only had one bath towel in our room, and next afternoon, after waiting for front desk person to come out, were told there were no more available as they were all in the wash! We finally took some from the pool area (although that was not suggested.They don’t give out extra blankets either. One of our keys never worked despite being swiped again. The room smelled like wet dog the whole time, but we were too tired when we arrived to switch. Shower drain was very bad, and faucet leaked a lot when turned on all the way. Only the handy man was responsive and friendly, but wasn’t able to help with towels.

The staff had trouble checking me in and then when i wanted to check out a day earlier than expected they said i was listed as a no show. Blamed it on their system and not check me out or give me a bill. I have tried calling them to make sure i have the correct billing for 2 nights and not three. Decided to stay here for a night to check out Elmira college in the morning. We got there at 4 (an hr after check in) and was told there weren’t any clean rooms yet, or housekeeping didn’t “input” the clean rooms yet and we had to wait. Now I will say the gentleman at the desk was very friendly. He walked away to talk to the manager and when asked how long it would take we were told he didn’t know. He asked her and she didn’t either. We didn’t wait long but she walked past us and didn’t apologize or say a word to us, just kept talking loud and laughing obnoxiously at someone in the hallway. We got to our room and one key wouldn’t work, luckily one did. We opened the door to the smell of a musty dusty basement. It was soooo bad. The cabinet the refrigerator is in was dusty so never cleaned, there were spider webs on the bathroom light fixture and the carpet was disgusting. We wouldn’t walk barefoot in the room. This was by far the worst place I’ve ever spent a night. If you’re thinking about booking a night, DONT!

This was the absolute worst experience we have ever had. At 10 pm we found bed bugs in our room. We had to leave the hotel since our room was infested. They made no effort to look into it or ask us any questions and said to reach out to Expedia for our refund. Now the hotel refuses to refund us for the stay despite Expedia reaching out multiple times. My kids were freaked out and we had to find another hotel, wasting hundreds of dollars in the process. Complete waste of money. This was just disgusting and disgraceful. Worst experience in a hotel I have ever had. Don't go here if you want a healthy place to stay.

Saturday morning we decided to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, big mistake. There was one family of three in there when we arrived, the waitress took our order quickly and we got our drinks, but then waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The family that was already there only got their food about 10 minutes before us, so had an equally long wait. When the food finally arrived, my omelette was wrong, and cold, but I wasn’t going to wait to get that fixed, instead I just ate the toast and potatoes. When I went to pay the bill, I was surprised I could not put it on my room, I have never been to a hotel where I could not charge hotel restaurant bills to my room. I needed to go back to my room to get my wallet. While waiting for the waitress to come out of the kitchen so I could pay, other families that were waiting for their food got impatient with the long wait and left.
I have stayed at Clarion hotels before, this visit was not even close to what I was expecting and will impact my choices of where to stay in the future.

Ok stay could have been super but...

Very comfortable and clean. However no towels in the pool room and only 1 towel in the room. Broken ice machine and empty vending machine made the stay a little less inviting.

It was clean and beds were really comfy. Older place, needs upgrades, parking lot really needs tlc. The only complaint was breakfast at their in house restaurant. They were literally out of almost everything we ordered, orange juice, chocolate milk, blueberries. And the service was terribly slow. They only had one person working there. But there were only two tables to take care of. I don't know maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen or something. A little pricey I think for the kind of hotel it is but it was very clean the room was spacious, and the kids loved the pool.

Nobody at front desk for check in, for towels, for help with exterior doors not working, for room keys not working, etc. Staff not manning front desk as they are serving breakfast, helping with laundry, etc. Waiting for 20 minutes to get a working room key is ridiculous
