A clean, VERY BASIC apartment. Expedia says property comes with “Private spa tub - unwind in your own luxurious private space”. WOW, THAT WAS AN OVERSTATEMENT! Just a bathtub with jets that didn’t work and then the plumbing leaked, flooding the cold bathroom floor. (They let us clean it up and didn’t offer us a different room) :-( Doesn’t have a smart TV so no Netflix or YouTube. Noisy heating system, hard bed.. Other than that, the unit was clean, spacious enough and had a kitchen & washing machine so the value was pretty good if you are looking for basic accommodation.

The hotel communal areas were clean.
The apartment bedroom and bathroom were clean, although there was the common bad odour in the bathroom.
The bedroom was very comfortable.
The outside balcony was spacious and had nice patio chairs and table.
The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, cutlery and crockery.
There was no tea, coffee or bathroom products.
The dining table and cabinets were good although the dark wood made the interior feel dark.
The tv was great with a good selection of channels.
The settee and sofa were in a poor condition.
The location is in a residential area up a hill away from the centre which is just about walkable. A supermarket and Indian restaurant are at the bottom of the hill about 10 minutes walk.

The apartment was very nice..
But there were some electrical problems.
The heating worked ok for the beginning of the stay but the 24 hours could no get it to work.
The biggest problem was the fridge..the thermostat seemed to be stuck on very cold so all the food Froze in the main compartment..Ruined E 80 of food..
Needs a new Refrigerator. it looked very old..

We needed a place to stay for two weeks, and the apartment was adequate. The kitchen is tiny--so small that the dishes are stored in the great room. Cooking pots and pans were only just enough for us, but we chose to fix most of our own meals. We had our own car. Without it, staying here would have been difficult. We appreciate the smoke-free room. Overall, for a 3 star place, this was an excellent choice.

Whilst not affecting us please note there are a couple of discrepancies in the Hotels.com description. It states that evening meals are available but this is currently not the case. It also states that rooms are cleaned daily but it is in fact once a week in the middle of your stay.
There is a limited supply of food essentials for sale in the hotel including some microwave meals. There is a good selection of restaurants available in the port area of La Duquesa about a 30 minute walk downhill. The walk back up the hill afterwards helps burn off some of the calories! The nearest supermarket is a 20 minute walk downhill en-route to the port.
Unless you are prepared for a lot of walking you will either need your own transport or rely on local taxis if staying here.

Beware what apartment you choose .
We were generally disappointed with our stay. The apartment facilities mentioned in your details are not accurate. Your details state all apartments have dishwasher, washing machine, oven and hob, and microwave . The first apartment we were given didn’t have a dishwasher, when we asked reception they said no they don’t all have them, but they offered to move us to one that did, so we agreed, but the new one didn’t have an oven, just a pathetic two ring electric hob ! Also your details mention daily housekeeping, what a joke, they only came once a week to change bedding and towels, no cleaning done whatsoever during our two week stay. There is a construction site opposite the hotel now which our apartment faced, which meant we had continual dust on the balcony and in the apartment. Had to ask reception twice for toilet rolls. Beware that sea view apartments now face a construction site.

The facilities were very cold. The floors were cold. The heaters didn’t work. Some heater remotes were missing. There was very little hot water. The walls were thin and could hear the neighbors. It is also way out of the way of town.

This is a really nice Hotel Apartment complex. There is a lovely pool and the villa style apartments are a really nice size. The rooms were clean and the cleaners came in every 3rd day so they were looked after without being too obtrusive. It is a 25-30 minute walk to the port (first 10 minutes are down hill). All the staff were really helpful and always friendly. We would definitely return to this hotel apartment.

A relaxing holiday at Manilva Sun Hotel.
We have just returned from a relaxing family holiday at the Manilva Sun Hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. The pool is a decent size and is kept spotlessly clean. Our family of 5 always managed to get a sun lounger, which was an added bonus! We only tried the bar/restaurant on a couple of occasions but found it to be good value and the staff were helpful and efficient. We hired a car as it is ideally located to visit Gibraltar, Estepona, Mijas and Tarifa, which were all great places to visit. Manilva Sun is located at the top of a steep hill, but only about 15 minutes walk down to the local Supermarket, and beach/beach bars. The local picturesque Marina; Peurto de la Duquesa is probably another 10-15 minutes along the coast, where you will find a host of great bars and restaurants with a lovely family atmosphere. We had a fantastic fortnight holiday at the Manilva Sun Hotel and would definitely go back there again.

Set in a quiet area, about 20 mins walk to Puerto De La Dequesa or 7 Euros in a taxi. A great place to stay for a chilled break up in the hills. Large apartments including a kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer and a full oven. On site, a large pool, bar and restaurant serving breakfast through to dinner. Would thoroughly recommend.

Hemos estado muy bien, apartamento muy limpio, camas cómodas, la cocina equipada con todo lo necesario, la piscina bien pero necesita una reforma, faltaban algunos azulejos y no le daba muy bien aspecto por el sitio donde faltaban, pocas hamacas y algunas hundidas por el centro, pero en general hemos estado muy a gusto y muy bien.

Skön miljö med en härlig pool. Dock saknades restaurang trots att man i hotels.com angivit att det fanns. Välutrustat kök men tänk på att det inte finns mer än några få varor att köpa på hotellet. Handla nere i La Duquesa. Bil är ett måste då hotellet ligger lite off med stora höjdskillnader.

Sintiéndolo mucho les tengo que dar una nota negativa por lo siguiente: siendo un apartamento/hotel en la zona de cocina no encontramos ninguna balleta, no encontramos papel de cocina, ninguna servilleta, nada de limpieza en cocina, en el baño no encontramos champu,gel.

Bonito y barato pero limpieza mejorable
El complejo es muy bonito y está cuidado, pero el apartamento tenía detalles por mejorar como un ruido en el aire acondicionado de la habitación o la ausencia de persianas o cortinas opacas. Hay contraventanas pero dejan pasar la luz. No hay ningún jabón, lo tienes que comprar, y la limpieza es mejorable, por ej, el mando de la televisión estaba sucio, la puerta del baño, dos sillas y la manta de la cama.

El primer día tuvimos problemas con el apartamento, nos metieron en uno sin balcón, ni terraza. Al día siguiente nos cambiaron a otro debido a nuestro malestar. A partir de hay, todo estupendo. Muy recomendable.

Mysigt hotell i Duquesa Hills (Manilva)
Trevligt lägenhetshotell ca 20 minuters promenad från stranden med gratis parkering i garaget. Fint och mysigt poolområde. Trevlig personal. Lägenheten var rymlig. Det fanns tyvärr ingenting i lägenheten som ex. tvål fast det står det i texten om hotellet så det fick inköpas tillsammans med lite andra saker för att vistelsen skulle fungera. Tråkigt också att det inte fanns någon internationell tv-kanal. Vår lägenhet låg inte heller så trevligt till. Bottenvåning med sämsta utsikten på hotellet och sen hade vi tyvärr mögel i ena badrummet men i övrigt så är det ett mysigt att hotell att bo på.
