Beautiful hotel but only 1 restaurant is officially open and it’s very far from everything
They had a adult pool and family pool and indoor pool unfortunately the family pool was not heated
Otherwise staff is very friendly and really pay attention to everything

The employees at the Kempinksky property were great and they exceeded my expectations. I really really enjoyed the spa and I also enjoyed the breakfast options. Everything was really delicious. I also really enjoyed their wine offerings and their Skyler grill. Everything was really great overall even there made service was always really really nice and helpful.
I would like to give a shout out to Noel. He was really nice to talk to every single morning when we went to go have breakfast. He is such a sweet guy and I really hope that he has a successful future.
I also wanted to mention the front desk, clerks were all very, very nice. I think that this hotel hire some very good staff.
I think my only complaint about the whole experience is that the rooms really are not soundproof. There is a lot of noise that enters the room especially when the doors open and close there’s a loud bang and if you are on the seventh floor, the upper floor is very noisy. It sounds like someone’s doing work upstairs and that really interrupted my sleep. I think the reason why that bothered me so much is because I paid quite a lot of money for the hotel And I just would not expect that the rooms would be quite so noisy. I almost wanted to ask for some kind of refund for that, but I did not because overall the hotel was pretty great, but I would really work on the soundproofing of your rooms. Maybe get some builders in to fix that issue. Thank you for everything.

We had an infant with us, they were able to supply bottle sanitiser, milk bottle warmer. Gave us fresh milk for tea. Breakfast was excellent. We did encounter a few ants in the room, we requested a move and got another excellent sea front view room.

Some parts nice others not so

Hotel had a nice Spanish appearance, though rooms were dated and beds uncomfortable. Clean upon a quick glance but room was very dusty upon proper inspection. Staff friendly but pool boys were not very proactive to assist. Some areas of the hotel are smart, others are a bit staid and need a refresh.

What a great hotel this if you want great service, friendly staff, good food and lots of swimming pools to cool off in the heat!
We had a lovely time in our first experience of a Kempinski hotel....highly recommended for families.
The only negative is the beach which is not really suitable for swimming but that did not deter us from enjoying our break here.

I based all my selections from people’s reviews, so here is mine. The hotel was amazing, great views, great breakfast and amenities. I wanted to be next to Marbella and for me this was the only downside, it was 20-25 minute cab ride each way and it was about $30 euros each way. If I knew that I would have tried to get a place closer. But that’s the only negative for me, my family had an amazing experience and enjoyed the pool and the ocean everyday, so overall a great experience!

The hotel is beautiful. The staff are so helpful and truly a pleasure from booking to departure. My room was beautiful and I asked for a room with loungers and I received a wonderful room, so thank you. The gym is very good and the spiler beach club restaurant is a must. I found the room service menu very very limited and the Balthazar restaurant the only downside of the hotel, it has no ambiance and the food was not good at all very sad as the spiler was terrific but closed at 4.30. However the breakfast buffet was a hit with everyone,

We enjoyed the hotel with reservations,Your description of the hotel was with three restaurants it turned out to be one only, a beach club.We were looking forward to getting a choice to match your 5* description.We accually paid more money for excess baggage as my wife likes to take dresses for different evenings,maybe for a dance to live music which there was none and is still being advertised on the billboard.I am dissapointed that you have wrongly described a holiday we were so much looking forward to.

Hotel was in a good location and room good size with a lovely sea view. However the air conditioning was not available which meant room was too hot. The breakfast was good but the standard of food in the restaurant serving evening meals was poor and could not recommend for vegetarians / vegans. Not a 5* hotel.

Lovely grand hotel with excellent restaurants, amazing public areas and a lovely setting. The f&b was fantastic throughout, especially Spiler by the beach. The rooms could do with a refresh with the bathrooms clearly showing their 20 year age but the overall vibe of the resort is superb with lovely staff and a very relaxed atmosphere throughout.

Likes - nice hotel with good restaurants. Nice pools but a lack of sun beds by the children's pool. Friendly staff at all times.
Dislikes - quite remote and no facilities nearby with a terrible beach in front of the hotel which is not a selling feature at all.
Air conditioning in the rooms wasn’t great and no air conditioning in the lobbies / corridors which made the hotel feel hot.

We liked beautiful hotel offering quite a few swimming pools. Relaxing enviroment.
Unfortunately we got one room which has a view to the opposite wall4, no nature, no sea. Quite dark. The other room was better..
We appreciate that pool bar was opened again serving food and drinks at lunch times.
We missed dinner at the Baltazar restaurant because there was no news from the recepetion desk on 7/8/2022.

If you don't have any issues with your room you should have a nice time at this hotel. I stayed at the Kempinski Hotel Bahia for 4 nights. I notified reception after my first night that the air conditioning wasn't working in my room and that a reading light above the bed activated multiple times during the night by itself. The heat and the light were disturbing. I also notified the hotel manager and other hotel employees of the problems. The hotel never offered to change my room. Took two days for the a/c to be repaired and finally on the fourth night the light was disconnected. After repairing the a/c, no one followed up to ensure that the room was cleaned from fallen ceiling debris, dirt, and plaster. There was no follow up at the hotel to confirm that the issues were addressed until the last evening. Very disappointing. This is an expensive hotel and the Kempinski should have reduced the amount I paid given these conditions In my opinion, go to a different 5 star hotel which values their guests.

Not a 5 star experience but a 5 star price

Room layout was nice, but wasn’t cleaned properly. Crumbs under sofa cushions, bathroom wasn’t clean on first day, tired looking furniture, seals around the sink areas were detached, half eaten chocolate bar in the wardrobe.

Mini bar wasn’t stocked (or restocked) until we complained. Then wasn’t fully stocked.

Shower head hose broken, wasn’t fixed during our stay, despite complaining on first day and midway through our stay.

Air conditioning didn’t work as wasn’t “switched over from heating”. No one told us this until we complained. Room was
Hot/stuffy at night.

Hardly any waiter service around the pool/lounge area during the day so you had to walk to the bar in the beach restaurant, then took ages for any drinks to arrive.

The benefits included with the room weren’t offered or honoured unless we complained and pointed them out. To the extent that our bill had to be revised on several occasions because charges were included that should not have been.

Staff were all very friendly, especially to the children, but often we had to order things twice as it did not arrive the first time - mostly drinks.

Beach restaurant was the best, with a good selection. The Balthazar restaurant was v average

Beach was out of action the entire stay due a storm a week before we arrived. Although would have expected this to have been tidied/fixed by the end of our stay (most 5 star hotels would have done this).

Breakfast was great - good selection and helpful staff.

Excellent service, but go with eyes open

Great option for a good value half term family break. Service everywhere was excellent. All the restaurants and lobby have been beautifully refurb’d and dinners were excellent, if pricey compared to eating out locally. Breakfast was also run very well.
Estepona is 5 minutes away by car and has masses more options and a very pretty outlook.
However, the rest of the hotel is well overdue a refurb. Rooms are 15 years old at this point, and the pool area is also looking tired (although the lawns are lovely). In addition, the beach here is not exactly idyllic, and the hotel backs onto the very busy coast road.
But hey, if all of these were fixed it would be 2x the cost per night.
Will definitely return.

Hotel grounds were lovely but the hotel needs an upgrade. It is a 3-4 star masquerading as a 5 star. Service was average some staff were rude (particularly room service). Lacked in 5 star touches you would expect for the high price point. Disappointing considering this is a global luxury chain. Restaurant was good but only one was open (which is misleading as we booked the half board under the belief there was a much wider choice) Overall was fine but not good enough for the money it cost. Disappointing because we were really excited about staying here.

Many parts of the hotel (incl restaurants and bars) were closed of during the week we were there, due to parties. This meant we had to have drinks in the evening in our (small) room and had to celebrate new years eve in our room.

I did not get the room that I booked, and i get yo the hotel at 2:30 and i they check me in at 5:15 pm the issue was the room not clean, and I asked for late check out because they check me in late they said ok then when I checked out at 2:30 pm they asked me to pay extra for late check out!! The service was very bad the valley parking was kind with us.

This is a wonderful hotel for couples and families. It is nestled in lovely Southern Spain. The property is luxurious and I would have given it straight 10s except for two things: the pools aren’t heated and the ocean isn’t really swimmable or for lounging. Other than that, the resort is wonderful and I highly recommend staying here.

Generally a good property but we were put right above a function room with a live band playing until well after midnight meaning we were unable to sleep, and we were exhausted. Given the hotel was not busy, and presumably they knew about the event, we assume a wedding due to the terrible music the band was playing, why did they put us in a room right above it when many other rooms elsewhere in the hotel were empty? Utterly disrespectful given we’ve paid over £200 a night for this room.

For a Kempinski Hotel, the property needs some rejuvenation. The sound insulation in the room from outside road noise was intrusive (old double glazing). No power sockets available next to the bed side tables (e.g. for charging phones, and this in the junior suite) Coffee for breakfast was disappointing in terms of flavour.

Excellent hotel in every way. Located on the beach, set within extensive well tended gardens. Hotel staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. Spa, sauna, gym all well equipped and very clean. All restaurants served local sourced food, which was delicious. We stayed for New Year and were not disappointed. Food, entertainment second to none. Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful hotel. We will be back.

Our stay couldn’t have been better. All the staff are so helpful and go the extra mile to ensure their clients have the best experience whilst staying. Breakfast is probably the best anywhere and lunch is a special experience overlooking the sea.
Rooms are extremely comfortable and clean with everything you need and service is prompt and cheerful.

Room with a wall view!!

arrived at check in and allocated room. the room was meant to be with a garden view. The view was a blank red wall as it was in the corner by an external staircase. Went to reception to change room . they said I had booked that tier. I booked superior room with garden view which is this type of room . offered room 3 doors along that gave a view to the garden for euro 20 per day extra, or next floor up at euro5o per day extra. ie it seems , I had booked the lowest rated room in the hotel, not as on webpage
With crutches it was impossible to go by lift to that level with last part down a steep path. we managed to use staff lift from laundry area to public areas. - not good. Swimmng pool entry steps had no handrails at waist height to enter pool - very slippery

I cannot fault the staff at all. They were all consistently pleasant, courteous, sincerely keen to help and ensure our comfort in any way.

I’ve travelled a lot and stayed at many 5* resorts but I’ve never met staff like those at Kempinski. They have sent the barometer through the roof.

A special thanks goes to Laszlo (the concierge with a heart of gold) and Pero who created a restaurant atmosphere on our private balcony!

Thank you to all the staff for all of your hard work. You’ve made such a positive impact on our stay.

We had an amazing stay at Kempinski. The food was delicious and first class. The room was spacious with a private balcony where we had alfresco meals.

The grounds have beautiful gardens, choice of pools and is on the beach front. I would definitely recommend walking along the coastline - amazing views.

This is a very relaxed and beautiful hotel. The gardens are beautiful and the who ambiance is relaxed. The staff can’t do enough for you and we had no issues and would stay here again. The breakfast was beautiful and I like the different freshly made juice combination on the table each morning. The only thing that needs seeing to is decorating the side of the pool, these areas looked tired but I would come back.

Very Disappointed!! Room is very dirty and old fashioned with stains on the carpet and the staff are embarrassed to show you around! It is a massive rip off and rubbish value for money. I will not be coming back.

Quality hotel, first class breakfasts. Lovely gardens and pool area but beach is poor. The rooms with partial sea view are to be avoided as the terraces are not the place you'd want to spend time. The location of the hotel would be isolated if it wasn't for the fact that Laguna Village is a short stroll away with good bars, restaurants and beach clubs.

Five star in a great location for daytripping

The only negative is that lobby renovations were not completed upon our arrival, but they were mostly done by the time we left. We found this hotel to have an excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms, cheery staff and a top-notch restaurant for upscale dinners. We used it as our base to do daytrips to Gibraltar, Ronda, Malaga, Jerez and Sierra de las Nieves. They have unheated outdoor pools and a heated indoor pool. Unfortunately we got back too late each day to enjoy them. Would highly recommend this hotel!

THE HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION AND IS OF A VERY HIGH STANDARD BUT 5 STAR NOT SURE.
THE BUFFET BREAKFAST AS EXCELLENT AND OUR ROOM WAS LOVELY.

MY BIG TWO DISAPPOINTMENTS WERE BEING ASKED TO €10 A DAY FOR PARKING, NEVER MENTIONED ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE AND THE INITIAL ROOM WE WERE ALLOCATED WAS ON THE END AND SUBJECT TO ROAD NOISE, WE WERE MOVED BUT ONLY AFTER DISCUSSIONS WITH THE MOST SENIOR PERSON ON DUTY. I BELIEVE WE WERE ALLOCATED THE ROOM INITIALLY BECAUSE WE HAD BOOKED ON A BOOKING WEB -SITE AND GOT A LOWER PRICE, STILL OVER €1000 FOR 3 NIGHTS.

Blue sea from our balcony

We had a room on the 5th floor with a balcony and sea view. Every morning after breakfast we went down to the beach for a swim in the ocean and relaxed on the sun beds. The food in the Cabana by the beach was excellent but most evenings this popular restaurant was closed for weddings and corporate functions.
The hotel is about 5 miles from the centre of Estepona with its bars and restaurants and you would have to take a taxi to the centre cost about 10-12 euros.

Great resort, but not a *****GL

Beautiful resort on the beach but it takes more to be a GL resort. Too less of the staff are good with theire english, but everybody is very kind.
Very annoying is the lack of policy around reserving sunbeds around the pool. And because there are enough pictures of the beautiful resort, my photos are examples of it.
You defenitely need a car because the nicer spots like Matbella and Puerto Banus are to far away.

About 10 years ago I called into this hotel and thought I would stay here for a 4 day stay with my 14 year old daughter. The hotel is very clean and the staff on reception are exceptional but other than that its soleless and fairly dull. There are three pools with one being total used for Adults. When we where there in August barely three or four people were using it. The actual main pool is functional and clean but not exciting.

Hotel was flawless - wonderful service and facilities. Location is fantastic - right on the beach. There is shopping complex with lots of tasty dining options just a short walk away. Hotel restaurants were superb! This is an excellent choice for a relaxing and romantic stay at the beach.

Not Marbella but close!

Great service and a lovely hotel set right on the beach at Estepona. Fabulous pool area and choice of dining options. Its a resort experience with not much else around ie it's not Marbella, but very relaxing. Staff were a standout!

Lovely portion on the beach.

Excellent reception staff. Food is very overpriced in the main restaurants and service slow on the pool bar and foyer restaurant. Half hour wait for drinks and sandwiches. Some guests reserve sun loungers by the pool with the pool attendants and do not turn up to use them until mid afternoon. Not enough to go round as a result. Very clean rooms . Good concierge and doormen.

Beautiful hotel just outside Estepona town

A beautiful hotel with great ambience, friendly yet efficient staff, an excellent breakfast buffet with everything you could desire. About 35/40 minutes walk outside Estepona which is very worth the effort.

Beachfront luxury out of season steal!

Location is fabulous. Don't be put off by its roadside position. I was a lone, female traveler on business and was treated with respect and a great welcome. Huge room with a partial sea view, palatial furnishings and a huge bath. Glorious pool area and right on the beach. You can walk for miles. The hotel was pretty empty and parts being refurbished but the sumptuous breakfast on the sunny terrace was perfect. I'd definitely return out of season.

Excellent Hotel

Everything about our stay was excellent - the standard of the food was very good as was the choice of menu - the staff were extremely friendly and efficient they could not do enough for your particularly the reception staff.
The location is excellent and the grounds were very relaxing - overall I would definitely recommend this hotel

Fantastic if you don't want to leave the hotel.

Best, largest room I've stayed in. All facilities available - if not in the room, can be provided by reception. Some rooms are better than others, and the noise of the very busy dual carriageway/motorway is never far away from side rooms. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with plenty of space to find your own patch. Food is excellent quality and well presented. Taxi always available from reception - you'll need them unless you have your own transport or use the BUS.

Beautifully laid out hotel

We had an excellent Premium room with side sea view with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. The hotel is rather isolated and a car is probably required. (Pay parking!!! -not so good). Also food and drink are very expensive in the hotel. 21 Euros for a burger in the pool bar/restaurant is rather much. The check- in was efficient and the staff were excellent. Overall, a fine hotel if you are not too concerned with price and are happy to be \"well away from the action\".

Smelly and shady charges

The striking experience was the sewer smell everywhere , even in the breakfast restaurant.
I recommend to check your final bill when you check out. Every costumer at the counter had fake charges (like room mini bar, lobby drinks, pool or spa service..). Mine was the lobby charges and the taxes which I already paid for during reservation.

Most impressed by all aspects of this hotel. Wonderful grounds and pools. Staff very efficient with a delightful attitude to guests. Very comfortable room with a great bathroom. Housekeeping first class. We thought we had to travel to Dubai to find standards this high, we were wrong - found it with Kempinski.
