Wow wow wow! Absolutely delightful experience. We never stay anywhere else. This was our 5th stay and we are going back. The staff are incredible. Tony at the front desk is amazing. This hotel is something else. We went to so many wonderful restaurants around it and enjoyed every one of them. The breakfast in the hotel is amazing with the most beautiful view you can imagine. Everything here is top notch.

I had a wonderful stay at Anantara Marbella. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and excellent views that made my stay truly relaxing. The food was delicious, and the service throughout my stay was outstanding.
There is also shuttle service to the beach club, and the ride was short and pleasant.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

There were some good things, but the service wasn't acceptable. Having to pay for parking when there is so much space, that's just taking advantage. Only inner-city hotels need to do that. And being charged 95 euros for my friend to use the sauna for 10 minutes also isn't acceptable. I ordered breakfast 3 times and it was wrong 3 times.

Amazingly beautiful Hotel. Staff is also very nice. Shuttle takes you to their beach club, which has a great restaurant on site. Distance to Puerto Banus is about 15 min.
We loved everything about the hotel. We stayed with kids 7 nights and didn’t want to leave! Truly a 5 star experience

Overall the hotel and spa are fabulous. Service was also outstanding. My only issues were Wifi and TV-related - did not get a connection in the villas. I called several times for help but it was not resolved. It is also difficult to get to your room after hours - many of the doors are locked and it becomes like a maze trying to get to your room. If you are using the gym after hours, you end up on the street and can only get back on the property through the front door. But, definitely stay here - and use the spa and eat breakfast!

Unknown to us we had chosen a particularly busy weekend to stay so the hotel was noisier than usual and we couldn't get on the golf course even though we'd tried to pre-book several weeks before.
However the breakfast was excellent, the Sushi restaurant didn't disappoint and the spa was still one of the best I've visited in Spain!

Everything was great. Great hotel, great staff, amazing facilities.

However one small complaint. As a Expedia Gold Member, I was entitled to some perks which I never received even though I reminded the concierge multiple times.

It was also my honeymoon and I had told the property multiple times. However, nothing extra or complimentary was given apart from one small dessert.

Very unsympathetic Hotel of the World!

We visited the hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Nice hotel however our five day stay was cut short after one day due to my wife’s parents being in a serious road traffic accident which meant we had to leave and return home. We did ask the hotel if we could move the remainder of our stay to a later date, out of peak their season, rather than waste the €2500 we had paid. The answer was an abrupt no it is non cancelable there is no flexibility! They even charged us €30 for the valet parking even though they had had €2500 for one nights stay!! Not sure they are A Leading Hotel Of the World more a very unsympathetic hardline hotel of the world with no flexibility! Sadly my wife’s parents passed away in the accident not that the hotel would give a dam!

Weekend in January

We spent a weekend at Villa Padierna. We were upgraded to a junior suite with terrace which was very spacious. The weather wasn’t fantastic but it was pleasant enough to have breakfast the terrace of La Loggia restaurant on both days. This was of an excellent quality with plenty of choice. Staff are courteous and helpful. We had dinner one night at la Pergola. All our courses were beautifully presented but we found that the choice of mains was rather limited. The spa is well kept and very peaceful. Overall a very relaxing weekend.

Superb staff, they have A/C only in the rooms, and even there very, very, very low, they must have a fundamental technical problem.
Taking into account that summers in Andalucia are extremely hot how could be possible not to have A/C all over?.

Very disappointed with room when we arrived, although booked 3months ago. Facilities minimal, devoid of atmosphere, glorified golf club house. Room so noisy over a garage, never got any sleep first night so checked out, although booked for four nights. Staff not remotely interested at all, waste of £1,400! New Year’s Eve completely ruined.

Fab hotel, great golf. Most staff lovely, a few need to better their attitude. Got stuck in a lift one evening and the alarm bell/ system was unmanned or not working. Luckily was able to call on my mobile. Bit scary but rescue was efficient.

Beautiful hotel - but not for children

The hotel is gorgeous, in beautiful and isolated surroundings which we enjoyed. The food was excellent, the breakfast buffet was amazing. The spa was very nice too with a nice heated pool... however... we had 2 small children with us (ages 4 and 5). The outdoor pool over Easter was too cold for them but they were not allowed in the heated pool - not even for a few minutes! So we tried taking them to the tennis courts - these were shut for renovation. The kids club? No - closed until the summer months. There were a lot of 'older' stiff types who scowled at our children and we moved tables a few times and then resorted to eating dinner in our room in the evenings as the dinner restaurant was a bit too formal for them. The staff were very friendly but we were constantly being asked to hush our children throughout the 8 days that we stayed. I understand they were just trying to consider the other guests however it was our holiday too! We went to the Marbella club to spend a day and realised the heated salt water pool and kids club (with signs everywhere saying - beware, kids playing) would probably have been a better hotel for us as a family. Having said all of the above, if I was just traveling with my husband looking for some peace and quiet, then this is the perfect hotel. But NOT a place where children would feel welcome. I felt that at the very least they would have let our children at least swim in the in door pool - but no!

An excellent 5star hotel with friendly staff and fantastic facilities.
However there were a few things that were not at its best.
a) One of the rooms had a stained/black marks on carpet not acceptable for a 5 Star Hotel
b) Went for supper at 20.30hrs (times 2000-22-00Hrs) and restaurant was full and asked to wait! ended up going for a snack at the bar!!!! The 5 Star hotel should not have more guests than they can cater for in restaurant!!!!!
c) Food offered on restaurants all Gourmet and not for hungry guests (very small portions!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Stunning hotel and relaxing break

My husband booked this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday. On arrival we informed that our room had been upgraded which was fantastic. We were then given a tour of the hotel by the guest relations manager. Our room was stunning and huge! It is worth mentioning the massive bed which was as comfortable as it looked. We took the free transport to the beach club where we had a lovely lunch looking at the sea, the service and food were excellent. We used the Spa facilities at the hotel and it is probably the nicest Spa we have been to. Lots of steam rooms with varying tempatures and scents. When we returned to our room the hotel had left a complementary bottle of fizz and a cake wishing my husband a happy birthday and anniversary to us both, a lovely touch. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first evening and the food was outstanding as was the service. Could not fault this hotel for a relaxing luxurious break.

The hotel is located about 20 minutes from the centre of Marbella, it is a beautiful golfing resort. A free shuttle gives you access to the beach club on the Mediterranean sea. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful with all of our requests.

Spectacular hotel

Second time at this hotel and will book again next year. The hoardings advertise it as a 6 star hotel and after staying at most of the 5 star hotels such as the Kempinski, Marriott, Marbella Club etc, this is the best hotel for miles. If you pay golf ( I do not) it is supposed to be one of the best in the world. However the food is brilliant, and staff wonderful. Choose a suite for a real treat, and make use of the excellent valet parking.

Been coming to Villa Padierna for 10 years mainly for accommodation.
Change of management has provided many changes for the better.
Staff really helpful, rooms outstanding, Beach Club greatly improved, Only issue I still have is the food.I wouldn't eat in hotel, the food is not good. Not a issue for my family as we eat out all the time, but would be nice if food was better to sometimes eat in.
Seeing recent changes hopefully this will be addressed.

Stayed in a villa with private pool which was very spacious, very clean and quite comfortable. Balcony areas were very pleasant in the Spanish sun. Concierge staff were very good, restaurant staff were generally OK, but not the quickest service in the main restaurant, service at the main pool was better. Great golf course, but no need to be a golfer to enjoy the venue. Choice of restaurants is very limited, good menus though and a great breakfast buffet. Plenty of restaurants in the local area, does need a car rather than a taxi.

A perfect 5 night break

The staff greeted us warmly and kindly upgraded us to a larger suite on the 4th Floor. Although this meant taking the stairs from floor 3 the short climb was well worth it. We dined in the hotel on our second night and found the food and service to be a solid 4/5 let down only by the lack of atmosphere most likely caused by too few diners at the late hour we chose to eat.

The hotel pool is magnificent and cocktails served to sunbed delicious, leaving us feeling truly pampered. The Cafe Del Mar at the Beach Club serves a lobster salad with mango that's not to be missed. Will definitely return and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to friends.

The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful and very upmarket. There are no facilities for children and whilst the staff are fine the other guests did not appear to appreciate my 5 year old - the atmosphere is fairly stuffy and formal. The restaurants are extraordinarily expensive and there is no water or fruit provided in the rooms - despite responses on tripadvisor saying water is now provided.
The location is also quite isolated, make sure you have a hire car. It is too far to get a taxi into Marbella, I did so one night and it cost 60 euros return. This would be a great hotel for a honeymooning couple of recuperating from illness, it is not the right choice for a family holiday.

Overall very pleased to have been able to stay in this hotel. Spa is a lovely facility. The only criticism we have is the price of any drink, even bottled water is 3 times that of any local bar or restaurant, we expect a premium in a 5 star hotel but this is too much. We will return though, the staff and the hotel setting made our stay one for the memories.

Great hotel, far from everything

A 6 star hotel should not have a car from 2007 in their shuttle service. No air conditioner in the car, it was old and dirty. The rooms was great, the service was also great. The egg served in the breakfast was not so tasty, specially the omelette eggs tasted bad. Other than that it was a good hotel. Quite far to puerto banus wich was good since I didnt want to see all the charter tourists all around med 24/7 also the price level scares off the charter tourists which is good.

Relaxing experience in a real grand hotel.

Good place for relaxing. Rooms are big and comfortable; hotel facilities such as swimming pool, spa, massages, and fitness are excellent. Gulfing facilities are extraordinary. The hotel has shuttle to private beach that serves good food and pampering facilities: massages, pedicure, and manicure. Overall it the best hotel for relaxing. Only 12 min. drive from the action in Porto Banus.

For a 5 star hotel it was like a bed and breakfast.
The hotel itself was in a beautiful setting and the room was large and superb with a balcony overlooking the garden fountain.
However there was no service by the pool and no food snacks allowed although we were not told until after 1 hour of waiting and after getting up to leave hotel to go elsewhere by the reception staff.
There was nowhere to get a coffee or water or juice anywhere if you missed breakfast.
The only place to eat and drink throughout the day was a formal lunch area only really used by locals for business meetings and not appropiate if you were in swim wear.
There was no bar to have a drink and no atmoshpere.
The hotel appeared to be very short staffed.
Also the beach club was closed on one day and we were told they would provide a shuttle service down to the beach but they did not and said the service was not available.
The beach club again a great setting but service shocking it was painful watching everyone trying to get a drink by their sunbed. Very slow service.
It was not possible to walk to the sea as the sand burnt your feet and pebbles to big to stand up in water.
It really needed a pool and again more service.
The hotel is set out in the middle of nowhere and needs more facilities and service.

Very high standard.

We stayed for five nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The standards of service and facilities were excellent.
The restaurant was of a very high standard, although perhaps the menu could benefit from a couple of additional main courses.

Not completely satisfied.

Serious air conditioning problem in the hotel. Really need to upgrade it to a more powerful model. Woke up in the night and morning sweating. It really does let the hotel down. Apart from that it was a very nice place and not too far from the top touristy parts. Golf courses were very nice and especially liked the Alferini course the best.

5 star Luxury

Stayed here for 8 nights in September 2011. It is a little off the beaten track and you do need a car to get around as taxis can be a bit expensive. The hotel quite rightly has a 5 star status. We stayed in a junior suite that overlooked the golf course, which was very luxurious. All the furniture and fittings were of the highest quality. We ate at the hotel's restaurants 4 nights out of the 8 we were there. It can be very expensive, especially the 'La Veranda' restaurant, but the service was exceptional. The hotel has a beautiful pool area which was quiet whilst we were there. It also has a beach club and the hotel provides a shuttle service there and back. You can also have dinner at the restaurant at the beach club and again the shuttle service is provided. There is also a spa at the hotel,with every treatment that you can imagine. As I mentioned earlier, you do need a car and whilst the hotel provides a valet parking service it does cost 12 euros per night.

All things considered, I would definitely return to this hotel.
