We stayed in October when the hotel was relatively quiet. The evening menu/restaurant was very nice. Daytime menu a bit limited. Did not try the breakfast. Hotel is nice and welcoming. I think it’s a good 4star rather than 5 star. It’s quite grand but a little old fashioned inside. Pool and pool bar area was great for the time of year but I’d imagine would be too small at peak time.

Our initial accomodation was overbooked, Expedia managed to get us a room with a enormous price difference at The Westin la Quinta. Ofcourse we felt lucky and we enjoyed our stay. Especially because it was way outside of our budget limit. The pueblo is very quiet, but there are other pueblos nearby where you can have fun with the native folks of Malaga. The rooms at The Westin la Quinta were adjust to a nice cool temperature suited for healthy night rest. And my apologies for my son who took a shower in the bad instead of in the shower. We had to dry up the floor with clean towels from all the water. Conclusion, way out of our budget, but definitely worth the price.

The room was advertised as suitable for 4 people but the beds we too small to fit two adults comfortably. The room was dirty and had not been cleaned properly after the previous guests and was not cleaned adequately each day - dirty cups were not taken and dustbins were not emptied.
By the pool tables were not cleaned and outside dustbins were not emptied regularly.
You had to pay for the kids club which was surprising.
A very disappointing stay and definitely NOT a 5* hotel. I would not go back again.

A good time to book a stay

My second stay at the Hotel.
All was very good overall, room quality & comfort, staff service & friendliness & the layout of the Hotel with its beautiful green areas.
One comment was that due to the pandemic, there is no breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the alternative menu was not prepared well.
However, I stress that this was due to current circumstances.
The Hotel was mostly empty & for this reason, for guests this is a perfect time to visit.

The hotel renovated the common areas and some parts of the rooms but it was all mainly cosmetic. The guest rooms bathrooms are old and worn out and the property shows signs of wear and tear everywhere. The grounds are nice but require more maintenance and while the staff was really nice they were understaffed. I’m not sure this is a 5 start property compared to some of the other choices in the area.

Fabulous service and beautiful hotel.

Absolutely fabulous service at a gorgeous hotel. The staff were all so friendly and polite and treated our two kids so well. The spa is beautiful and the spa circuit represents great value. Location very convenient for Marbella and Benahavis - especially if you have a car. A couple of little niggles - no water in our room , slightly untidy terrace area (bottle caps from previous guests I assume) and Do Not Disturb ignored (crucial with napping children!) but everything else was so good we could happily overlook. Our daughter loved the pool and it was a quiet haven in the morning. The staff absolutely make this hotel - true 5* welcome and service.

Beautiful hotel, peaceful and well maintained. Staff are very efficient and helpful.
Only one suggestion to make this hotel even more attractive - don’t charge for hotel parking. The shuttle service was very good but a car is a must in this location.

Most of the staff are friendly but there are a couple who are miserable. The size of the rooms are excellent however the room condition is tired and scruffy. The bathrooms definately need updating and cleaning properly. The rooms have. Been refurbished but only parts of them are new, the rest has just been given a coat of paint. There was only 2 TV channels in English and the hotel really should have Sky or something similar. Internet was good. Hotel was incredibly noisy and I would not recommend this hotel for a relaxing break .

Lovely hotel, grounds and staff!

We have just returned from a fantastic week at The Westin La Quinta. The hotel is lovely - decor is typically light and airy inside and room size was great - we had two double beds and a sofa bed in our room and there was still plenty of room. The bathroom was also a good size with bath and separate shower cubicle. The grounds are well maintained with lots of trees and greenery and a small pond which is a nice feature (it also kept our kids entertained at night counting the fish and frogs!). The swimming pool is a good size and has a shallow end for kids. There is a pool-side bar which serves cold drinks and you can also order food too.
The hotel is roughly a 10 minute drive from Puerto Banus and about a 20 minute drive from Marbella. This is where the hotel shuttle bus comes in handy and is a fantastic little service - all you have to do is book a slot at reception, choosing from the departure and return times on their timetable. The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful - they really made us feel very welcome.
We will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

We stay at a lot of Starwood group hotels and this was one of the best we’ve been to. Fantastic - gem of a hotel. A little quiet haven in the mountains away from the busier tourist areas but only a ten minute taxi to shops and restaurants in Peurto Banus. Bedrooms beautifully decorated and very comfortable, fabulous breakfast selection, superbly helpful and friendly staff (and great with kids). Golf and spa facilities excellent and great food and child friendly service at the club house. Reception staff helped us with a generous late checkout at no extra charge (which we were delighted with given we had a late night flight home with our baby) and were speedy and efficient with check in and check out. We’re already planning our return! Thank you!

A luxurious hotel set in a beautiful location overlooking La QuintaGolf Course .
A perfect place to unwind and relax and recharge away from the hustle and bustle.
I would recommend hiring a car however the hotel do provide a shuttle service to Marbella and Puerto Banus .
One small criticism that I feel would enhance the whole experience at staying in this beautiful hotel if this was addressed, the swimming pools were not heated and were ice cold so most of the guests were not able to use this facility although there were a few brave soldiers!
We were greeted by Juan on the Main Reception who was extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable and deserves acknowledgement from the Senior Management nothing was too much trouble for him .We will be back to visit, thank you .

Lovely Hotel on Golf Course

Older Hotel that as obviously been totally refurbished in a very contemporary style, apart from the bathroom, which was very old fashioned - clean, but dated. Although a lovely fresh 'white decor' has been used throughout the Hotel, it has the appearance of being a little ' too cold' during the cooler winter months, especially at night time. The staff are most welcoming and the service is excellent, everywhere. There was a good choice on the buffet breakfast, although the 'hot food' was infact quite cold and this seriously needs addressing. I would suggest hot plates would be a good place to start. We felt a very limited choice on the a la carte dinner menu so we therefore ate out on 4 of our 6 nights, but its fair to say - what we did have was excellent. Our biggest dissapointment was our room allocation. Probably our own fault as we selected a 'Classic room' which was for us, a mistake.
A large palm tree obstructed almost all of our view of the beautiful golf course opposite and the bin store and what seemed like a possible trades access was our view to the right, and this was noisy on two nights - when the bins were emptied after we had fallen asleep! We were also second floor and above a busy road with a fairly constant run of traffic until quite late at night and then early in the morning. It did disturb us. Would recommend anyone staying - make sure you have a pool view to ensure you are staying on the better side of this hotel.

Played golf on Course A, lovely facilities and organisation. Staff were not stuffy and didn’t have to show handicap.

Pool not heated, but minor detail when the pool setting and bar area around the pool so lovely.

Rooms amazingly comfortable, I had classic room with 2 double beds in. Friends had deluxe room with further sofa area.

Lunchtime snacks at golf restaurant were divine.

Staff were all lovely, concierge knowledgable and nothing too much trouble.

We will be back!

Fantastic weeks holiday

Had a fantastic time, hotel and staff were amazing. Saw a few complaints about the bathrooms but there were perfectly fine to us, yes maybe a little dated but clean and a spacious. Pool was a great size and there was plenty of loungers for everyone. If I was to find anything to complain about it was the evening menu size which was very limited for such a large 5 star hotel and we were unfortunate to have a couple of bad neighbours who were very noisy but that's not the hotels fault. We wil definitely be back

We stayed here many years ago on several occasions & now back under the Starwood ownership once again, it has been beautifully updated. Lovely hillside setting, gorgeous grounds with peaceful pool area. Rooms are spacious, bright & modern. Could have stayed longer - maybe next time!

Loved this Hotel!

What a beautiful hotel/resort. The resort is prestine and so are the rooms. The pool and grounds are lovely. This hotel is not on the beach but they offer a shuttle service into Marbella and Punta Banus. We had a car and it was about a 15 minute ride into the old center of town. Beautiful town and was great to go back to such a lovely hotel after walking around Marbella. Staff was excellent!

Amazing hotel

Fantastic hotel close to Puerto Banus. Loved this hotel which has been recently refurbished. We stayed here as we wanted to be close to Puerto Banus but not have the noise of staying in a central location. The perfect compromise. Great hillside views. There is a free shuttle bus that can take you into town we caught a taxi on the way back which was approximately 12-15 euros. The only downside to this hotel is that the whole hotel has been refurbished except for the bathrooms which look a little bit tatty.

Average hotel with average service

My family (wife and two small kids) and I stayed at the hotel for summer vacation. Rooms were clean and comfortable...though the phone didn't work in our room and there was a water leak in the ceiling. Service was very slow to non-existent, particularly at the restaurant and by the pool. The pool water was cold and relatively small to other Westin resorts. The wifi was operational only 50% of the time, which posed a problem for us at times as were traveling internationally. Overall, we had an okay time but I can't say I was blown away.

Rude staff & orientated towards taking your money

This hotel is terrible. Rude receptionist and esp rude hotel management. I asked for names and wasn't even given that. Even after a complaint to Starwood customer services I was fobbed off.

Location is not great and the pool facilities poor but for me the biggest issue is the money grabbing attitude and rudeness of staff. Beware they will charge for even the youngest of children if they can.

There are much better hotels in the area and generally if you can avoid Starwood hotels like the Westin as much as you can.

The hotel is only 8 min from busy downtown Puerto Banus ( where the real action takes place) in a hillside surrounded by million dollars homes; the golf club is beatiful; the facilities are like new; the pool is an oasis. Now, you should rent a car-easy ride downtown with a GPS. Higly recommend this hotel!!!

This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Poor service, unwelcoming staff, unclean rooms, loud and chaotic common areas, and zero sense of luxury. The pool area was neglected, guests played loud music, and we couldn’t sleep due to noisy golf groups at night. We left early and would never return. Completely misrepresented as a luxury hotel.

kamer met zicht en terras op de straatkant, veel lawaai van voorbijrijdende zware camions en leveranciers van het hotel, onze kamer zat thv verkeersdrempel, wat het lawaai nog erger maakte. s Nachts meerdere malen wakker geworden van het lawaai, uitslapen kon al helemaal niet. We hadden onmiddellijk na inchecken een andere kamer gevraagd, maar omruilen blijkbaar niet mogelijk, nochtans was het hotel totaal niet volzet (laagseizoen begin april). Opgelet het zwembad is NIET verwarmd, het was ijskoud 16°C, dus onmogelijk om te zwemmen. Spa en sauna niet toegankelijk zonder bijbetalen (20eur per dag pp). Rond het zwembad was de tuin absoluut niet onderhouden en stond er overal onkruid, dringend nodig om tuinmannen in te schakelen... Slaapkamer en badkamer is aan upgrade toe. Lobby en restaurant zijn wel mooi en modern ingericht. Ontbijt was lekker en uitgebreid. Te veel betaald voor hetgeen maar geboden wordt, bijbetalen voor sauna niet meer van deze tijd.
