The master bedroom had a nice view but bathroom wall had a big hole. Second bedroom had now windows and therefore it had an old damp smell. Had to sleep with door open because the the mold smell and fumes. The hotel expected adults to sleep on bump beds. Had to pay extra 130 dollars to get a decent room so 50 year old woman didn’t have to climb a ladder to go to bed. Breakfast was excellent everything else a big disappointment.

I purchased 2 of the 4 bedroom cabanas/apartments at this hotel. Each room accommodates 8 people. Upon booking we didn't know how many guests would arrive so we didn't include the total number. Because of this the hotel charged my 2500 USD additional.

Learners for the first time at check in there would be no good service to the Cabañas. I may have missed it but surprising. They did allow us to order and wait to pick it up thankfully.

We got here late but no one told us how to work anything including change the temperature, tv or fireplace.

The units are pretty buy old and in need of repair.

The view was amazing, and the breakfast buffet was delicious; all the facilities were amazing. All employees were so kind, knowledgeable, patient, and professional. The road needs to be fixed; it's approximately 1.5 km of terrible road. I understand that it is a municipality issue, but the Marriott needs to get involved and get to an agreement, so it will be easier for the guest to travel outside the hotel.

Los apartamentos necesitan mantenimiento - tuvimos un incidente con la lavadora y con uno de los inodoros. El equipo de servicio al cliente y transportacion es excelente. Sería bueno nivelar más la calle de entrada para facilitar la entrada y la salida de la propiedad.

The welcome at the front desk could’ve been better. The person rushed me to checking and had a poor knowledge about the migration tax exemption evidence.

People working in the yard around the cabin at 7:00 am. It was noisy but when I complained, it stops . Other than that is a good place to stay.

I stayed at this place with my family and it was beautiful, but it was really disappointed that when we got back from walking around town there was no internet , some of my family had to get work done , we wanted to listen to music and had other plans that require internet and we weren’t able to do it, extremely annoying, other than that the place was nice !!

Hotel is very nice. the cabin and the view were outstanding. but the prices were not clear. receptionist wasn't very helpful we got there late at nigyt and theprice for an extra person was almost n60% more than what the brochures she had on her desk. she didnt want to honor the price or provide support.

almost all of teh ammenities are for an extra cost. even to sit in front of the lake you hae to pay

- Breathtaking location with lovely views of El Peñol.
- Maintenance guy Luis was very nice and effective, fixing many issues with our villa with a great and polite attitude.
- Check-out was at noon.
- Breakfast was complete and tasty.
- Service at the restaurants was great.

Cons:

- Be prepared for extra charges everywhere! Even with an expensive villa, you'll pay extra for the pool, lake, and water sports. The resort nickel-and-dimes for everything, like overpriced drinks.
- Check-in was a hassle with a small, poorly equipped booth and unfriendly staff.
- The road to the hotel is unpaved and narrow.
- Beware of a 19% tax if you're Colombian or don't have the proper passport stamp; it's mentioned in small print.
- We requested a coffee machine, and they brought a Nescafé instant pot with 2 packets as a courtesy, which was insufficient for our group of 6 in a 12-capacity cabin. They seemed to think they were going above and beyond.

*Verdict:* One-time visit, won't return or recommend.

A Paradise Wrapped in Disappointment

From the moment I arrived at Cabañas Luxe, I had high hopes—visions of serenity, luxury, and unforgettable memories. And yet, what awaited me was a whirlwind of frustration and disbelief.

Yes, the views are breathtaking—postcard-perfect panoramas that whisper promises of tranquility. And the cabana staff? Genuinely kind, warm, and attentive. But that’s where the magic ends.

Imagine my shock when I was told that I could not take a simple photo by the pool without paying a jaw-dropping 100,000 pesos. A photo! In a place I'm already paying to stay! It felt like beauty held hostage.

And if you dare to dream of dipping your toes into the beachside? That too comes with a price tag. Yes, you read that right—you have to pay to access the beach. The very soul of a tropical getaway turned into a toll booth.

The roads? An absolute nightmare. Cracked, uneven, nearly impassable. You’re forced to take a golf cart just to navigate this so-called paradise, which only adds another layer of inconvenience to an already disillusioning stay.

And perhaps the most bitter sting: the hotel staff. Cold, dismissive, even rude at times—so starkly different from the warmth of the cabana team that it felt like two entirely different worlds.

In the end, Cabañas Luxe offers you a glimpse of paradise… but only through a paywall, a pothole, and a frown. Proceed with caution—and a thick wallet.

Not worth the price

Very run down cabanas. We only had one roll of toilet paper and 2 waters and coffees for 3 of us. The breakfast was good and staff were nice. Hot tub did not warm up at all. Out of town so a long way down some dirt roads and about 20000 pesos to Guatape town.

It was an amazing place to stay very big view of the lake with two restaurants and a water sports area with jet skis and boats five star service all the way around they take it to your cabin in a little golf cart from the parking lot 100% recommend to stay here whenever you want

Communication over WhatsApp only was extremely hard. No phone calls. Only via texting. TV and fire place were NOT working. No extra blanket and no heater ( normal for Columbia: according to them)

We loved our stay at this place. Although the property is not walkable to town, they have TukTuk service that is super responsive in taking you wherever you need to go. Restaurants on property were great and we overall loved it here.

Fatal la experiencia

Fatal, la recepción fue terrible , cobran por todo…. No hay acceso a ninguna área común….. las cabañas mostraban jacuzzzi el cual nunca existió y por usar el de zonas comunes cobraban 100.000 por persona! No permitían descorche de vino ni pagando ni comprando una botella !! Fatal la atención y el servicio

On check-in, the first time we turned on the lights, one fixture exploded, leaving glass everywhere. Thankfully, nobody was underneath at the time.

The rooms were full of humidity damage. The coffee maker didn't work.

They only let you get to the restaurant with their own transportation, but when they had me move the car, nobody came with the transportation. I had to walk 15 minutes over rocky roads, and when I came back, the transportation workers were laughing at me.

The beach area has no water, so that's not usable anymore.

Overall, this property has declined since my last visit, and I won't return. There are better/newer options close by for the same prices.

It's such a wonderful property! the cabañas are large, well equipped and well-decorated. The hot tub on the balcony is amazing!
We had so much space for our family. The hotel stuff is nice and super helpful. Every time we needed a transport (the hotel is spread through a large territory, so you want to get a ride from place to place) it got there very promptly.
The beds a are comfortable!
We loved the restaurant next to Aquatic Center more then the restaurant in the Hotel Brown. The breakfast was pretty good (It's in the Hotel Brown).
We rented boats twice: one for the sunset lake cruise, it was breathtaking. And the next day we rented a speed boat with the wake board. The captain was amazing (same captain both times). He told us stories and showed some \"hidden gems\", and he has great skills driving a speed boat specifically for the wakeboard.
One day we enjoyed a pool at the Brown Hotel. It's beautiful, would definitely recommend. Comes with the extra cost for Cabañas guest, but it's worth it, especially if you come early and it's not crowded.

El lugar muy bien ubicado, y con lindas vistas a la represa, los restaurantes bastante bien y en general muy buen servicio de todo el personal. Lo que es terrible es que me asignaron el apartamento 103 y a un lado y arriba están remodelando, entonces desde temprano y todo el día mucho ruido y gente trabajando, nunca logre sentirme comodo y en paz.

Súper atento la gente están muy amable y respetuoso, el único cambio que tiene hacer es darle una forma de cambiar billetes grande de 100,000 para darle propinas por la chicas de el aseo y los moto chivos y la gente del resteruante porque están trabajando duro y son increíble los empleos!!!! yo creo que si un visitante del hotel quiere reconocer el gran servicio brindado por el personal y dar un propina personal a los empleados con una propina y un detalle adicional, deben proporcionar una forma de dar algo individualmente al empleado específico que brindó atención y servicio porque ellos lo marezco

Excelentes habitaciones, con unos muy lamentables senderos que llevan no solo hasta la entrada del complejo, si no que adicional hasta las cabañas y habitaciones. Uno ve lo espectacular de las habitaciones y el area en donde se encuentran, y jamas imaginaria que no tendrian el buen juicio de pavimentar o mandar a hacer cualquier tipo de sendero para que los huéspedes no tengan que terminar con dolores en todo el cuerpo por lo caotico de las vias.

Property is beautiful yet there’s lots to improve, sliding doors will not stay locked, very hot and there’s no air conditioning or fans. We requested fans and only one worked and pretty much had to beg to get it. Apparently they only have a few for this big property. Kitchen utensils were terrible, no iron or blow dryers available
Although staff is very professional they have very little to work with. I say this is above them and they don’t have the proper tools to serve guest properly. Owners or management of this property should really try to improve because it’s definitely a beautiful location.

My family and I stayed in a beautiful cabin it was 7 of us and we each had our own area lots of windows and sliding doors not much privacy, if your lights are on anyone outside can see inside cabin. If you’re coming from states please be ready for NO AC. It’s not needed at night but you will have one or 2 bugs in your property doors and windows stay open
For ventilation. Make sure at upon arrival you stop to buy groceries before you arrive to your cabin. There is no grocery stores near by. Get ready to pay taxi taxi taxi everywhere you go. Overall this was a very very nice resort and the staff is extremely helpful.

The logistics to get to the property are difficult. The road is bad.
They charged us additional Tax and our confirmation stated all taxes paid. No way to make them understand
The breakfast is extremely expensive. You need to get transportation within the complex to get around on a motoraton. But they are efficient and friendly.
Beautiful cabin, clean and well equipped if you want to cook.

Hidden Fees make this an overpriced stay

Second time staying in the Cabana's as my first experience was good in a small group.

BE AWARE: THERE IS A 130.000COP/DAY PER PERSON FEE IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF THE CABANA.

This mandatory fee made this a very expensive stay and because of that, it will be my last time going back. There are now much better places to stay in Guatape.

Feels like I got ripped off renting a cabana for up to 12 people and having to then pay per person on arrival.

The rooms were very nice with spectacular views. This location is heavenly and the property is beautiful, but the roads inside and outside the complex are not good. I am not sure that such a great property hasn't solved this issue. The only way to travel inside and to the the town is in 3 wheeler auto.
