This family-friendly beach hotel is located above Emplisis Bay, close to the picturesque port and fishing village of Fiskardo, which is a 15-minute walk away. Guests will find numerous shops, bars, restaurants and links to the public transport network in Fiskardo and the beach is around a 4-minute walk from the club resort.

This resort is hidden out of sight, among cedars and cypress trees. From an architect's point of view, the finely tuned palette of multicultural influence creates an environment of high aesthetics and post-modern design.

This is the only establishment in Greece to use teak wood items to furnish its rooms, all painted in subtle pale shades, and decorated with pictures from an artwork photographer. Guests may also make use of the conference facilities and WiFi access.

A car park is readily available for those who are driving to this resort.


When you stay at Emelisse Nature Resort in Kefalonia, you'll be by the sea, within a 15-minute walk of Fiskardo Port and Ionian Sea. This beach hotel is 0.4 mi (0.6 km) from Emblisi Beach and 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from Kimilia Beach.

Hotel complex was beautifully presented and watching the sun set from the main pool/restaurant was amazing.
Our room was modest, but nicely furnished.
Our only real issue all stay was a tardy response to requests. Not quite 5 star level.
We asked about extending our stay and they finally replied at 11:30pm, by ringing our room and waking us up. Very peculiar and unprofessional!
Fiskardo is a sensational base from which to explore. The harbour is so picturesque.
We enjoyed a day trip to Vasiliki.

It was a spectacular stay! Relaxing, beauty around every corner, excellent service, and a place we would definitely return to. It is family run and so charming. Loved the pools and the oceanfront setting - so nice to jump into the ocean! Rooms were comfortable and cool. We didn’t use the tennis courts, but did use the gym. Also had access to bikes. Walking distance to Fiskardo which is nice to walk around. Many great tavernas and restaurants in nearby towns we enjoyed - Alia’s, Veggera, Keffa-Ionia..

The only this that spoilt it was the penny pinching attitude to in-room drinks; charging €1 each for tea bags is beyond mean! We went out and bought our own.

The only downside is that it has some visitors with loud grating accents. And it could do with more sun-bed space by the pool, as often “full up” later in the day

Lovely hotel, breakfast, pool area. Service/communication lets the place down. Example - requested to leave from at 1pm - agreed, called them back to ask someone to collect luggage at 1pm, then told needed to leave at 12pm, changed mind and said we could leave at 1pm, returned to room at 12.30pm and the cleaner was in there stripping the bed...
We arrived at the restaurant for dinner at 7, asked for table, told they were full but with hesitation said they would fit us in at 7.45. Returned at 7.45 and the restaurant was less than 50% occupied all evening. Waitress was untrained - put our bread directly on the table.

The actual hotel was lovely and the location excellent. The ladies at breakfast and who served in the reception bar were also 5*.

Unfortunately the service at the pool bar did not live upto our expectations when booking.

We are three times and on all occasions the orders were wrong and in one instance our meal at dinner took 3 hours to arrive, with no apologies.

The staff around the pool had no urgency, they definitely needed the ladies down there to sort them out.

This is a lovely place to stay just make allowances for the slightly chaotic state of the reception. Otherwise the restaurant is lovely with great food, enormous portions. The swimming pools are wonderful and beautifully set up. We didn’t visit the spa so can’t comment. Fiskardo is a charming village to visit with regular shuttles from the hotel.

View from the room and from the infinity pool was unbelievably beautiful. Comfortable and simply designed room with best shower ever! Staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable. Even provided a free Pilates class with panoramic view. (Only issue was pretentious other guests could be entitled and rude to staff!) it was the perfect place for luxury stay. Delicious breakfast with best view ever.

Truly an oasis of a resort! My favorite things were the private beach for swimming, the accessibility to walk into Fiscardo and other neighboring beaches, and the facilities with the pools! This hotel was brilliant. Best bits - Staff, Breakfast, View at Breakfast, Adults Pool area, Lunch / Dinner restaurant, access to sea. Being ultra picky would have preferred private balcony ( shared with next room - however too hot to sit out anyway ), and perhaps a larger balcony with unobstructed sea view. We will 100% go back, which should say it all.

Well located beautiful resort

After a shaky start involving an “upgrade” to an inferior room (declined ) we came away from a five night stay with good memories of the Emelisse. It is well laid out across a headland next to the picturesque town of Fiskardo. We had a room with shared pool access (recommended) which was spacious, clean and private. The resort has an impressive swimming pool for all guests as well as one just for adults in a separate quiet area. A small pebble beach with stunning water is a short walk away. Breakfast is excellent. The restaurant provides reasonable lunch and dinner offerings and there are many dining options at Fiskardo (accessible via shuttle at lunchtime and in the evening). Staff are lovely and service is generally very good. If you book a trip to Kefalonia, you should see this part of the island and you should stay at the Emelisse if you do.

We had the most incredible stay at Emelisse, the food is outstanding with a lot of choice and variety and not a single dudd on the menu, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and fresh local produce, the breakfast buffet is the best I’ve had and the views from the hotel are breathtaking. Lots of activities available, we played tennis and games and went kayaking, but also would have been totally happy laying by the pool the entire time it was so relaxing. All the staff were so friendly and helpful the service is top notch, very hard to leave this place at the end of our stay! Can’t recommend enough.

A ‘nice’ resort with a spectacular pool area. Restaurant is good, while buffet breakfast is decent but no a la cart available.

Main issue with the resort is parking. If you arrive by car expect to park outside on the roadside. Checkin was the most awkward experience ever when trying to enter the main entrance getting told there is no parking and told needed to wait on the roadside for buggies to collect you and your bags to reception.

Rooms are decent size but bathrooms a bit disappointing with small basins and little room for toiletries. Decor is a bit ‘meh’ but functional. Balcony and view was spectacular for our dual room family suite. Overall not a 5 star to me but about 4.5 … could be really good but let down in some simple areas, perhaps due to sale of day passes to casual visitors.

Health and safety crisis.

It was terrible we had a book for six days. We ended up only staying one night and leaving early. They do not comply with health and safety standards. When we asked for a refund they refused. Hotels.com also did not intervene which made us very unhappy. We lost thousands of pounds and we are not happy.

Emelisse Nature Resort is a Hotel that was probably amazing and fully deserving of their 5 stars 10 - 15 years ago. The rooms are nice but you can feel that a lot of it is old or not been serviced for a while. The pool area is fantastic and the view is great. The staff is very helpful sometimes a little too much but I had issues with the restaurant and especially the chef. None of the food plays up the to price tag that is set on it. You can make a steak look very pretty but you can't hide the fact it's overcooked and tasteless. On a personal note I have allergies and during the evening there are only 4 things on the menu that I could eat and the chef refused to try to change some things because the menu is the menu. Even with a menu of 50 items in the daytime that are completely off in the evening. This is the reason I would never pay to go back their again.

Housekeeping in rooms could be enhanced.

Couple with grown up daughter. Day bed was very uncomfortable for my daughter to sleep on so only really suitable for under 18's. We had an issue of broken shards of glass in the rush matting which my daughter stepped on and she had to pull out of her foot. We asked for enhanced cleaning which was executed that day. It is a lovely hotel and breakfast was excellent. Staff were very nice and we would stay at resort again as a couple.

The emelisse has to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels I’ve stayed in. I was weighing up all the hotel options prior to the trip and was so glad to have booked this when we arrived! I was initially worried that the rooms looked a bit dark in the photos but that’s because they utilise “mood lighting” and there’s no big bright main lights in the room which I personally love.

We had a junior suite with a shared pool and it exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable, very quiet and spacious and the views are phenomenal.

It’s a 10 min stroll to the centre/ port of fiscardo (we visited fiscardo, Argostoli and Sami and for us fiscardo was our favourite of the towns). The hotel also offer an hourly shuttle bus service to and from the centre for those that don’t fancy the walk.

All the staff were wonderful, especially Denise on the front desk who was so helpful, a great asset to the hotel, and Anastasia in the spa who gave me the most amazing massage!

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing trip where you can just switch off and enjoy the luxury and beautiful surroundings, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The best hotel in the North of Kefalonia

This is an absolutely stunning hotel on the North of the island. Only 3 minutes from the town of Fiscardo, it still feels secluded with access to a couple of beautiful beaches. From the expansive breakfast to the a la carte dinners, the food was spectacular. There are daily events on the premises which are great. I'd simply suggest a bit more urgency in some areas of service, particularly the restaurant, and perhaps having repellent available everywhere as bees and mosquitos are sometimes abundant.

Emelisse hotel- a lovely stay

Gorgeous laid back place. Lovely friendly staff. Lots of lovely touches. Great food from the al a carte Menu but the breakfast was slightly disappointing (only slightly). Rooms were clean and spacious and nicely decorated. I loved the fact there was a separate adult pool because I didn’t have to worry about my 6 year old making a noise. The shuttle into Fiscardo is a joy as you don’t have to worry about driving and the beach down the hill from the hotel is one of the most beautiful we’ve ever swam in. Plus s great spa.
Overall we loved it and will definitely come back.

Almost perfect.

Service at reception was excellent, in fact service in almost every way was excellent. the food was reasonably priced and there was sufficient variety. The spa was peaceful and relaxing, the pools were well maintained aswefe the sunbeds.

My only exception to that was the check out process... we were interrupted twice within heast 2 hours before checkout - one of which resulted in waking our sleeping baby.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel in a spectacular setting. The room was rather dark though. Service was excellent throughout especially from the men who drove the beach buggies and mini bus.

Hillside boutique hotel with great views and staff

Great hotel with just 60 rooms spread over a hillside just outside Fiskardo (an easy 10 minute walk by day, with regular free shuttles available in the morning and evening). Our room had a stunning view and easy access to a small pool shared by 4 rooms (plus two larger pools open to all). The staff and very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast buffet is lovely and when weather permits, starting the day with a coffee on the balcony of the hotel restaurant is lovely. However, would advise avoiding other food offerings, which are over-priced and not of a great standard (especially compared to the incredible range of brilliant options available in the town). There is a lovely secluded beach nearby and many more in the area. The hotel is just over an hour's drive from Kefalonia airport. Recommended!

Fabulous setting with amazing views

We have just returned from a weeks holiday - we stayed B&B. The breakfast was the best we have had - lovely homemade food - fresh and plentiful and positioned on a balcony overlooking the bay. We ate dinner each evening in Fiscardo harbour - either a short walk into town or the hotel had a shuttle service to run you in. The pools were wonderful - 1 adult only and there was also the facility to sun bathe and swim from the cliff rocks below - again private to the hotel. All in all a fab holiday.
