The property for price was great. Location also great within walking distance of downtown. Our neighbors we had Saturday night were terrible they kept turning on and off water all night and talking really loudly and just being really rude. But they had nothing to do with the property. Also Sunday morning about 2:30 our whole fire alarm for the building went off which scared the crap out of us. Not sure why it did that there wasn’t a fire my guess was the neighbors we had who didn’t seem like they slept.

I especially recommend trying breakfast at the Bavarian. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. While it's not a modern hotel, I think that adds to its charming character.

Great for our brief overnight stay, although the room itself could use some updates. Some outlets & lamps were not functional and heat wasn’t available except for in the bathroom. With a little extra attention, the place would be perfect.

We looked at different properties in Glenwood Springs before choosing Starlight Lodge. For Starlight Lodge, the location was perfect, and the price point was one of the best in the area. We were treated very well, and took advantage of the complimentary shuttle service when we arrived at the Amtrak Station. The rooms were clean, and for us, we had a balcony that provided a beautiful view of the mountains. My only complaint would be to change out the coffee for a different one!

The room was adequate, at best. The pillows were like cement, bedding old-fashioned. We were supposed to stay two nights and left after one. Nobody at front desk to even talk to about why we were leaving, and now they’re refusing to refund our second night.

Rooms upstairs seemed to be taken care of a little better n w less bugs, but I’m sure if they setup a few bug zappers there would be less of an issue. Was there duct tape in the bathroom holding some tiles up? Yes, but you get what you pay for and this is a very affordable yet comfortable motel. It’s super close to downtown so easy to walk to and from, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked well. What more could you need? I would stay here again next time I’m in Glenwood.

We stayed back on July 12 2025, and it was the WORST night of my life! The room was infested with bugs! On the walls, ceilings, floors, even under the glass top on the desk! When the sunlight finally came we noticed several of the bugs that had been squashed on the bend of the closet door!! I could not sleep for fear of them crawling on me as they had done while awake! We had been on the road all day and was unsafe to continue our trip before sleeping! It was late and slim picking for rooms without going to another town in either direction. The next morning at check out, my husband took a clear plastic bag full of the bugs I had killed and collected and the lady was not concerned she stated they came from the trees! Whatever the cause, there IS A SOLUTION AND CURE!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM!! When he asked if she could at least refund 50% or something to accommodate for this she flat out refused!!! And so that my story isn't taken for an attempt to get something for free or bad mouth a place because they hurt my feelings, I've got pictures to back up my horrible encounter and proof for my lasting PTSD over that extremely long 7 hour stay!!!! I have videos I'd be happy to share, just ask!! Sleep in your car before staying here!!! There really needs to be a 0 star choice!!

Checking in the motel seemed old and charming. The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room is very outdated. There were tiny flying insects EVERYWHERE, which is not necessarily they're fault but the front door was covered with them at night so every time you opened it they would fly in. The bathrooms are old and need repairs. The shower head was good for people less than 5ft tall and it was the type you find in a gym locker room, not good. There were no outlets near the bed that could fit a standard charging block.
When checking out, I handed my key (physical key with plastic keychain) to the older lady at the front and she said I needed to give her 2 keys, when they only gave me one. She didn't believe me and was quite rude about it.
It wasn't expensive but it definitely wasn't the cheapest option in town. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

For the price and location. You can’t go wrong. The owners were very nice and helpful. I left a pair of glasses in the room and the cheerful and quickly mailed them to me. Great stay.

My wife and I were in bed asleep when the owner decided to let herself into our room in the middle of the night. I heard the key go in the door, and met her at the door as she opened it. She said she came because of noise? It was quiet as a tomb, every one was in bed. Later called the desk and gave a different reason and they made out it is my fault she let her self in as I didn't hang the do not disturb sign or throw the deadbolt from my side. She just slid her key into the door and let herself in, no call on the phone first, no knock on the door just walk right in, and then give ME attitude at check out instead of apologizing. Plenty other good choices in Glenwood Springs pass this one by.

Stained mattress, blood on the box spring (I slept in my sleeping bag), used coffee packet in the coffee maker, scum ring in both bath tub and sink, Wi-Fi info in room doesn’t match available networks. Room 1, in particular, is very noisy, as it’s adjacent to the highway. For nearly $200 a night (and sold out), do better, Starlight Lodge!

My room had a variety of insects throughout and clearly had not been vacuumed prior to check-in. Throughout day 1 I kept feeling that 'bugs crawling on your skin' feeling and by day 2 I had bite marks all over my legs, ankles, and feet - turns out the room was thoroughly infested by fleas. I captured one and took pictures but the woman at the front desk did not take it seriously at all and waved me off. By the end of day 2 they had gotten into every nook and cranny of my belongings and I couldn't comfortably or safely go out in public let alone enjoy the rest of my planned activities. I returned to the front desk and spoke to the guy who took it slightly more seriously but still did his best to also write me off before finally booking me a room at a different motel. At that point it was midnight and I spent literally the entire night packing my stuff into trash bags, dousing everything in bug spray, transferring everything to the new motel on foot, systematically cleaning everything multiple times in the bathtub, and re-bagging for the trip home. I was so exhausted I slept through multiple alarms and missed my train home and had to scramble to find alternate transportation late in the day. Once I reached my car around 1am I had to strip naked in the parking garage at Union Station which made for a fun conversation with the security staff there. At home I once again wasted countless hours fumigating & cleaning everything yet again before anything came inside.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights. The room had four towels, and the came in after the first night and brought clean towels. The location was excellent. We walked to where we we're going.
