About as good as the photos show.
The carpet was dirty and needs to be replaced. There were some bugs (doors are exterior so to be expected, I guess?), but no bed bugs. Sheets seemed clean.
There was a spider and web over one bed.
Queen beds (2) were each up against a wall or window on one side, so small.
Everything was very old and smelled old.
We think the paint on the outside is new. The woman who runs the motel is very sweet and we can tell she’s trying hard. Making updates where she can.
Over-priced for what you get. There is a fridge. Toilet was clean. Shower stained but clean, etc.

This COULD BE a great local hotel. It's close to downtown, in a relatively quiet location, with some green space. Unfortunately, the manager is not on site, the room was dirty, the shower did not work, the air conditioner/fan did not seem to work, the grounds are poorly maintained, and I was charged more than I was quoted. Because the manager was not on site, I was not able to get a refund for the difference.

Rented a room on Expedia. The photos posted of this hotel are very misleading. It looks nothing like the pictures when you pull up to the property. It’s run down. The lawn isn’t very well maintained and there are garbage cans sitting outside of the rooms. Junk sitting out in front of the rooms. I’m assuming people rent rooms that live there. Sitting out on folding chairs smoking. Not inviting at all. Went to the office to tell them we were not going to stay there. Walked in and it’s filthy and smelled of urine. Front desk person told me I had to call Expedia and walked away. It’s cheap yes but does not have a good vibe at all.

Well I guess the sheets and towels were clean. That's about it. The tub was dirty, the drain was clogged with hair, it clearly hadn't been vacuumed, and the room was dusty. The proprietors are putting minimal effort into this motel.

Do not recommend. It seems like the place is trying to update things, but as of now would not recommend. Charged extra for 2 adults, but was not provided extra bath, hand, or wash towels. Tried to get more towels, but no one would answer in the office or by phone. TV was not working. Musty odor to room.

Good location on the southern end of town. Several fast food restaurant within walking distance. Walking distance to GAC if motivated.

Property is old and unimproved but maintained minimally. Office is old and unsightly with pet smell. Building is old and also minimally maintaned. Linens are old with small tears but clean and no bedbugs. Wifi was very weak at our room, unuseable most times. 4 nights no housekeeping.

A terrible experience at the Viking Jr. Hotel

Room smelled of cigarettes, long black hairs on the bed, furniture strewn around the parking lot and hotel like it was a dump. Pay a few dollars more, and stay somewhere else. Viking Jr. Has lost its way in the hotel business

The staff was very nice and helpful. The property is older and shows wear and could use updating, but the room was clean. Bed was comfortable but pillows hard. If you are traveling on a budget and just looking for a night or two it is priced right.

I didnt like the bed. It killed my back. Ugh. I mean atleast give 4 pillows if the bed is going to suck that bad. The staff was nice but they said ring the bell at anytime for help and theyd help and that wasnt true. Understandable but inconvenient when u assure me youd help anytime i ring the bell. Other than that it was decent for the price. Also its an old place so it smelled old. It could definitely use an update.

The carpet was dirty as if it had not been vacuumed. Perhaps stuff blew in between the door and the jam where there was a 1/4 inch space. Putting the two pillows into one case might have made one good pillow. The curtains are hung so that the blackouts cannot be closed.

I am a 5'1\" elderly lady. I had real hard time getting into bed because they are soooo far off the floor. I have bad knees and couldn't kneel to get up on bed. They need to consider that or at least have a stool for someone with this type handicap.
Also the tub felt very slippery like it had shower gel on it after someone had showered. Not good for elderly for sure.

There was a lot of outside noise by I believe mgmt and since I needed to be up at 5:00 a.m. the next morning, I was trying to get to sleep early.
I noticed you could see the outdoor lights between the door and the doorframe, so the place really needed some work. I couldn't close the curtains completely as the sheer and the curtains were on the same curtain rod. The room was clean at least, butI don't know if I would stay there again.

4 couples in our group reserved rooms for a wedding weeks before, all got a text saying they didn’t have rooms for us, during the wedding! They said there was a problem but
we could stay at their “sister” hotel for the same price. Turns out I believe both are owned by the same guy and wouldn’t match the price agreement. We were stuck so we all had to pay the inflated rate. I wonder if this “happens” by accident or not!

I stay here a couple of times a year. The rooms are always clean and stocked with the necessities expected for a comfortable stay. The people who work here are some of the friendliest folks I have encountered in my travels. This is not a high-end hotel, but is a good value for the money and close to local activities.

The price was right

We felt fortunate to find a motel for a reasonable price. The others we had looked at were ridiculously high. The motel manager was very nice, honest, and helpful. The bed, sheets, and pillows were clean and comfortable. The towels were big and thick. However, although the air conditioner worked fine, the filter needed to be changed. Also, the carpet really needed a good steam cleaning.

This is very much as 1950s/60s roadside motel. Rooms are small and parking is right outside your room. With that said, this is a surprisingly well maintained motel. The outside looks it’s age, but the room was clean and well maintained. Bathroom was small, but obviously recently renovated with modern tile and everything worked. Staff was very pleasant at checkin. Room was very quiet, which was unexpected as the motel room as full.
I stayed here 30 years ago with my dad when I was looking at colleges - this trip was my child looking at the same college. If anything, the motel is in better shape now. The art is decor has been updated and we felt very safe and comfortable. It is not luxurious, but it is a funky blast-from-the-past kind of place. My 17-year-old absolutely loved the experience!
I did miss the fiberglass deer that used to decorate the lawn in front of the motel, but that’s probably mostly my nostalgia.

This is a great place if you are just needing a place to sleep and take a shower. It is an older facility that has been somewhat updated. The room was clean,comfortable, and affordable. The property was quiet and felt safe. There wasn't much for extras, but it was also the most affordable motel in the area by a long shot.

The room was nice and clean and had plenty of space. Unfortunately I had a bad neighbor who was surely on drugs. I was sleeping at 11pm and he banged on my door, I answered and he proceeded to say vulgar things and told me to keep the noise down. The TV was off and I was sleeping, it was silent, not sure what he was hearing in his head. Shortly after the phone rang in my room, guessing he called the front desk…I didn’t answer as I just wanted to sleep. It wasn’t the motels fault, just inconvenient having a crackhead knock on my door at 11pm…

I was expecting more when I read previous reviews. I am not picky, but this motel was very run down. Everything was very old. No freezer inside mini fridge and no ice on property. Room was 55 degrees with rusty baseboard heat (although it did warm up after a few hours). Would not stay here again.

Everything about this stay was great until.....bed time. The bed in my room (#17) could be likened to sleeping on high end carpet and pad. The bed was HARD, had no give at all. I ordered a pizza, and the box from said pizza may have been an upgrade to the pillows on my bed. Thin, hard pillows like at Grandma's house. No matter how you stack them, you lose. Everything else about my stay was great, place was very clean.

Nice little room with everything we needed. Nothing fancy but I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. We were just looking for somewhere to sleep for the evening. The only downside was the room smelled a little musty my husband said. I said that I believed it was because at one time the establishment allowed smoking and in order to try and get rid of the smoke odor they used a lot of carpet cleaning or something because to me it smelled like chemicals. Hopefully one day they will be able to afford to put a new carpeting and that will take care of the problem. But overAll I was very satisfied with our stay.

I would not recommend. Room smelled of old cigarette smoke. Carpet was buckling in many areas. Dirt, hair etc in every corner and under beds. Stains on comforter. My kids walked in and wanted to leave immediately because of lack of cleanliness.

Well run, great value.

This is an older motel with narrower doorways, smaller bathroom than normal, but the room was in excellent condition. I always notice bad/cracked/mildewed caulking, but theirs was in perfect shape. Better shape than most Days Inn/ Microtel and the like and a better mattress at a lower price point. Could park directly in front of my room. Quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Conveniently located: easy to find, fast food places nearby as is downtown. Neighborhood somewhat run down, but I felt comfortable walking around by myself.
