Location excellent for exploring the city.

A great location for the city centre, 10 minutes walk from the cathedral & it was easy to find & park. The room was spacious, clean with everything you needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

The location is perfect! It's right across the Roman Bridge (footbridge) from the old city. So, you can easily find this hotel, avoid getting into the busy part of town, park for FREE and walk a very short distance to visit the old city. It was so perfect, location-wise and it was also very comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our visit at this hotel!

It’s proximity to downtown Salamanca made the Hotel Puente Romano an ideal location to stay, and it was just far enough away from the major attractions so that I wasn’t bothered by much noise from the all the activity. Checking in was easy; I had made my reservation online the evening before, and they had it waiting for me when I arrived the following afternoon. My interactions with the staff were all positive, as they were friendly and helpful about answering my questions. The room I had was a comfortable size, tidy and even had a small balcony attached to it. I was very pleased to find that the bathroom was thoroughly cleaned and everything operated properly. The water I drank from the tap tasted fine, although it’s always a little warm (due to the high temperatures in the summer).

My balcony door had a metal barrier that was broken, so I could only raise it around two feet from the ground. Like most businesses in Salamanca, the hotel doesn’t have AC for the rooms, so I really would have liked to open the door cover entirely to cool my room out during the night. I was also a little surprised to see the pool was closed, despite it being over one hundred degrees and summertime. Nevertheless, I’m glad to say that my dislikes are quit few, and they didn’t really detract that much from the overall experience I had.

Great location. A nice walk across the Roman bridge to the old town. There isn't much around the hotel. One good meaty restaurant a couple blocks away. Other than that, eat your meals across the bridge.

Fine hotel, but away from the center

Stayed for 3 nights. Location across the Roman bridge from the old town was not bad. Local area did not have many restaurants, and the ones around were expensive. Chose hotel in part for included parking, which turned out to be on the street or at the gas station across the street. Desk clerks tried to be helpful, but we did not find them very informative. Room faced the back street and was quiet enough. However, the heaters were programmed to turn on automatically every morning and every evening for two hours. As there was no AC in the room, it could get quite warm. We tried leaving the windows open when we left for the day to help the room stay cooler, but routinely found the cleaning staff had closed the room up again during servicing. We could not get the safe in the room to work. Breakfast was not included and was 8.50€ pp per day. We did pay one day and found the buffet very nice. If I were to stay in Salamanca again, I would rather stay in a hotel just outside of the old town and on the same side of the river. This hotel was all right, but there are probably similarly-priced places closer to the attractions of the old town and university.

Has a typical Spanish grandeur but would benefit from a little updating in places. Having said that we enjoyed our stay and would return without a second thought. For us the hotel was good value.

We’ve stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed it. Pleasant staff, clean & comfortable rooms, very convenient to the old town. Good breakfast and the parking is easy and convenient - we’re happy to pay for the secure parking. The hotel faces a road but the traffic basically finishes at a reasonable hour.

Convenient access whilst making stop-over on journey, but hotel is tired in décor department and would benefit from an update. Room smelt fusty and paper coming away from wall, extractor fan not working in bathroom and loo behind door meant bruised knees when door was opened un-expectantly. Plus side . . . . water piping hot and good powerful shower, however, shower curtains are a 'No - No' ! ! !

Perfect Trip to Salamanca

It was a perfect trip to Salamanca although we missed a junction accroding to GPS on our way to hotel, however it wasnt difficult to find the hotel. The hotel location is really really closed to city with walikng distance to the nice and huge Cathedral. We were so great that hotel offered a big and nice deluxe room with cathedral view. It makes the room become so romantic. For the price that I paid, its really worth for money. Highly recommended to all my freinds,relatives and others. Must try!!!!!

Easy access to old part of city across the Roman bridge. Room was spacious but bed was very hard and air con noisy. Hotel staff were helpful. No tea or coffee facilities in room but there was a fridge. Room was reasonably clean except for the carpet, didn't appear to have been vacuumed recently. Roller shutters made the room dark and quiet which is great for sleeping if the bed was soft!!

My room was clean and comfortable. It was a very good size and had a nice balcony. The staff is friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking immediately around the hotel, so no need to use the hotel garage unless you really want to. The location was across the puente romano from the center, so it was a little walk to get into the center, but a very pleasant walk, so not a problem at all. Being away from the center, the hotel was very quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing break

Stayed 3 nights at the beginning of July, when it was really hot. Loved the peacefulness after being in Madrid. The terrace was a relaxing place for an evening drink with a superb view of the cathedral so I think it is worth paying extra to get one of these rooms. The room we had was not like the one advertised but a bedroom and a separate sitting room- the TV was in the bedroom.Breakfast was fine for 8.50 Euros and there are no alternatives close by. Garage across the road has vending machines with chilled water and soft drinks. Staff were friendly and courteous. As a more mature couple we did use taxis to go into the city as our knees didn`t like the hill and it was 42 degrees but we walked back. Plenty of good \" menu del dia\" in town, one included a bottle of wine.Lovely walk by the river and we saw a stork and a kite. Yes we enjoyed our trip; tiles on the terraces need replacing and a bit of whitewash on the walls would make a big difference

Just outside the tourist areas. very nice hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located just outside outside downtown and about 15 mins walking from the cathedral. Public transport is not much help here so walking from this hotel or taxi is a must since parking in downtown is difficult or expensive. Breakfast buffet is very well worth it as well as the underground parking with direct access to the room via the elevator. Very nice room, but beds are hard. The pool is nice but since it is in the shade most of the day, it is a little cold. Internet is a little slow but works OK. There is parking available across the street for free next to the gas station. I would stay here again. Note. This hotel is not pre paid. You have to pay for the room there.

Great location and value

Spent 2 lovely nights at the Puente Romano. Loved the location near the old Roman Bridge. One can get to Salamanca's major attractions on foot in 10 - 15 min. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and comfortable and offered a great view of the cathedral. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. We did not use the hotel's underground parking facilities instead parking across the street free of charge next to the gas station.

This is a good hotel for those who prefer to be outside the old city centre (which tends to be quite noisy). There is a lovely view of the cathedral as you cross the old Puente Romano towards the city.
It`s a bit of a steep walk in places, but there are a couple of local bus routes which stop near the hotel.

Hôtel idéalement situé au pied du pont romain qui mène directement près de la cathédrale au cœur du centre historique de Salamanque.
Tout était parfait. Chambre et salle de bains spacieuses, balcon-terrasse équipé d'une table et deux chaises sans vis à vis. Parking souterrain (facture 11 euros la journée) avec accès direct par ascenseur. Nous ne sommes restés qu'une seule nuit sur la route du retour de vacances mais, tant l'attrait d'une visite plus approfondie de Salamanque que le confort de l'hôtel, nous donnent l'envie d'y revenir plus longtemps.

Está en una zona tranquila, cerca del puente romano. Desde él se pueden ver unas magníficas vistas del casco viejo, al que se puede ir andando, aunque hay pendiente después de cruzar el puente romano. Tiene varios monumentos cerquita. Nos tocó una habitación enorme y cómoda, con mini balcón. Aparcamos fuera del hotel sin problema y gratis. Esto en el centro de Salamanca es difícil.
