Arrived on June 23rd, the front desk person was wonderful. Helpful friendly and did not announce my room number like other places have. She offered insight to the hotel amenities and really did her job well and with professionalism. The hotel itself is good. Room was clean and as advertised. You could hear your neighbors pretty well but that is what it is. I was street side and was also lulled to sleep with traffic sounds. The shower temp was very good and the AC was very cold! I appreciated that. The next night I went to the lounge / bar. Sat down and waited for a bit but no one really acknowledged I was there. There really wasn't a lot of people in the bar area. I felt awkward waiting any longer, so I did leave. Checking out on the 25th in the am the staff was also very nice, thank you ladies for a nice check in/ out process. Parking seemed a bit frugal and a Mercedes took it upon herself to park along the door side entrance. Not a parking spot but oh well. Overall I would say I might venture to try a new place, but in a pinch it would do.

The location is perfect for Greenwood BUT pay attention to when you book. If there is an event there, be aware it will be loud. There was a graduation party on an outdoor area AND a band in the restaurant/bar. We could clearly hear both in our room until late. We prefer nice quiet, relaxing hotels after working all day. The room was okay for comfort but it was hard to relax with the amount of base and noise from the music.

What a run down, filthy place. The shower had mold. The towels were yellow. The pillow cases has make up on them. The chair had brown stains in the seat (I don't want to know from what). The door was crooked so bad that light from the hallway was coming in. The AC intake (which is directly above the entrance) had dust and filth covering it. The staff were just kids who seemed unable to do anything accept offer a second room which was not any better. We ended up leaving after just check in to stay at another hotel. The kid at the front desk told us we would still be charged for the room and would have to call the manager in the morning and ask for a refund. Horrible place.

Rooms are ok and if you're forced to stay in Greenwood it is convenient. Generally there is a bit of a musty aroma, in the rooms, lobby, and restaurants. Hotel staff are pretty much useless as they cannot make any decisions without \"management.\" Of course, management apparently does not work weekends or holidays.

So, bottom line, need to stay a night in Greenwood? It works. But want to enjoy a stay and feel remotely pampered? Nope.

Wonderful property! Our only concern was a noisy a/c unit. All of the staff were so polite and helpful! We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings. The food and the service were excellent! We ate a light dinner at The Fox and Hound Lounge in the hotel on our first night. Great food, adult beverages and service.

I will start with the good. Its around great restaurants that is within walking distance. Great downtown vibe. I usually have a great experience here but this time it wasn't. I had crumbs in one of the beds. Coffee grounds were in the floor under the desk. So that let me know the room was not clean thoroughly. I checked out very early the next morning without even eating breakfast. Staff smell of marijuana. Needless to say I wont be returning.

I love the uniqueness of this Hotel. It is historic and right in the middle of uptown, close to restaurants and a coffee shop and wine bar. Yes it was immaculate, but the very BEST part of staying at The Inn on the Square is the staff. They have been extremely helpful and accommodating to our family. With a student Athlete at Lander, it has been a home away from home for us.

This is an older building. My room was nicely decorated. The bathroom shower had old caulking and paint drips that were left. Caulking around the shower walls and glass partition needs to be cleaned. The roof tile above the sink the paint was peeling. Elevator button lights for the 3rd floor were out. No amenities were offered. If you wanted breakfast you had to pay for it. The staff was nice but it would have been better if the hotel would have been torn down and rebuilt for a nicer hotel.

Let me start this by saying I don't normally give a bad review to anyone. This time however I am breaking my tradition for the following reasons. My wife and i booked the hotel as it was closest to where my son was getting married and looked awesome on-line. We arrived Saturday afternoon checked in and were hit with a hold on my Credit card for 100.00 \"\"for incidentals\" that we were not told about. Strike one. Then the room was freezing as the AC was on and when I inquired at the front desk no one was on-site that could tell me how to get the heat on. We froze Saturday night and Sunday night. Hotel was 100% booked Saturday we were told. Strike two. Sunday morning breakfast buffet until 10:00. We go down at 9:30 and was told they were closed due to having a lunch buffet. Strike three. This all too bad as this property could have been amazing if only the staff cared enough to do what they advertised and have someone on staff that knows how to work a thermostat. Still waiting on my 100.00 to be released by the way.

The shower nozzle needs to be replaced - it shoots water in so many different directions it is hard to get wet. Also, it would go a long ways if something was done to quiet the place down. Doors were opening all night and woke us up every time.

Most hotels in the area offer a complimentary breakfast bar; the Inn no longer offers this gratuity. My friends and I had to leave the bar because it closed early.

It’s after the fact because my stay is over but…when I called to check on my reservation, there was no record of it! Although the paperwork was located after a lengthy phone hold. I provided my reservation number.

Only issue was water pressure in shower wasn’t the best and took awhile to get warm water to flow but that is being picky. Everything else is top notch, would stay here again.

The lobby and restaurant and lounge looked inviting. The room did not. There were a number of issues with the room. For a hotel on the pricier side in Greenwood, we expected better quality.

We hardly slept. A/C was SO loud it woke us every time it came on.
Of course we heard the constantly in use ice machine as if it was in our room. It would seem the hotel could locate something as noisy as this perhaps a little more than 10 feet from our door,
We were missing a coffee machine as was advertised on the website. All the fixings were there (coffee pods, sugar, etc.) but the machine wasn’t. I reported it to the front desk and the woman there said, “I’ll make a note of it”. I had to say so again the next day before they actually brought one to us.
The shelf in the shower was missing. The clips to hold it were there, but the shelf was gone. We had to set shampoo and wet soap we were using around the glass wall onto the toilet seat as we showered getting the floor area and toilet seat wet and soapy.
I pulled the window curtain back to see what view we had and we were looking down into the lobby! I wonder how we would have been able to get to safety if there were a fire in the hotel.
Finally, upon our check out, we used the restroom off of the lobby area. Apparently the roll of toilet paper had been sitting in brownish water at some point, but I guess when it dried, they put it back in use!
This hotel has gone down hill. Each time we’ve stayed we have been more disappointed.

I grew up in Greenwood so it was fun to this old hotel brought back to her former glory. We had a great stay and it was fun to be able to walk around in uptown. The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly!

On plus side: great location for visiting the downtown area and the staff was very attentive.
Unfortunately, there were too many negatives: Room was not very good. The quality of the workmanship, i.e. tiling in the shower looked like it wasn't done by a professional. The vent in the bathroom was full of damp lint, obviously hadn't been dusted in a while. There was only one towel bar thereby leaving no place to hang hand towels, wash rags or a second towel. Very inconvenient as these were all wet when needed to use them again. Room was located on 3rd floor and overlooked the lobby. As a result, the light from the lobby and the additional light from the sky lights over the lobby area require blackout curtains. There were just plain ones allowing light all night.

Our room was not clean. The staff couldn’t send someone in to finish cleaning. There were cleaning towels on the floor in the bathroom, fingernail clippings beside the shower, hair balls around the toilet, small debris on the carpet areas. The walls were somewhat thin and we were awakened by the couple next door having a verbal exchange. The staff was nice enough but had no way to address any customer service issues. We didn’t stay the second night, and with help from Expedia were able to get a refund for the night we did not stay but no acknowledgment that there had ever been a problem from management. I do NOT recommend staying there.

A very quaint hotel in a great area, close to dining and shoppes. Room was very nice. Didn't care for $20 charge to check in just 20 minutes early. Also lobby coffee machine was broken and restaurant that was supposed to open at 7:00 did not open until 9:30 because employees were late. Otherwise this was a great stay.

The property was older but it has been renovated very nicely. There is only one restaurant in the hotel even though the website says there were more. Most of the staff were very nice (I only experienced one person who needs a little more customer service training at the front desk). Overall, I know that I would stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.

During the two nights we stayed it was very noisy. Also our room was not cleaned although we left early during the morning allowing ample opportunity for the cleaning staff to access our room. We have been staying at this hotel off and on for the last 30 years. The new owners have really destroyed its original charm. They updated all of the rooms so there is nothing special about them anymore. The room is like they could be at a Hampton Inn now. The property is not as well kept and common furnishings have been downgraded. It’s a shame. We won’t be staying there again.
