I stayed in a rusted 2 bedroom unit with unsafe water far away from the pool/beach areas. The bathrooms were not clean with cheap quality furniture, towels and linens provided. This hotel has one restaurant with limited expensive options. Please bring your own food and water…there is no store onsite and you will not be able to eat anywhere close by. This place is definitely not worth the price when you can get so much more elsewhere in Rocky Point. Front desk staff was not helpful. Upon arrival one man was sitting with 3 other men talking so loud in the small space that it gave a headache while waiting to check in. Unprofessional as no one spoke to you when you walked in the door. The roads are all dirt so make sure you drive a solid vehicle when coming to this location or you will bust your tires. Loud trucks drove throughout the property all night long hearing their loud engines through the paper thin walls. Would not recommend to any family or friends and will not be back.

The staff and room were great and that’s about it… The restaurant is pretty overpriced for what they offer. The amenities suck the “game room” is just an old pool table… The swim up bar was closed and that’s what I was looking forward to the most! The “beach” was like a mile out. All the amenities they advertised were non existent. I was really upset! They only thing good was the massages. I wanted to be able to have things to do there without leaving the property but it was a boring ghost town.

Yes, The room and staff were very friendly and helpful. My only concern is the curbs coming into the parking spots. Being on a motorcycle made it difficult. The first night was ok parking. The second night i had to park in a different spot. My motorcycle high centered and ripped out my air ride lines and I had to ride over 300 miles home with no rear suspension. Other than that it was a great experience.

Good: Room cleanliness, resort amenities and activities, restaurant food & staff, front desk staff.
Bad: We stayed two nights and the room lost power at 3am both nights and lost water supply as well! We tried calling after-hours extension but it didn't go through. Waiting till 8am and went to front desk. They sent maintenance person who reset the circuit breaker and said \"we shouldn't have any more problems\". Unfortunately same thing happened second night. We drove to security gate to see if someone could help. They said \"no maintenance person available till 8am\". They sent a couple of security guards to help but they were unsuccessful. Finally around 8am the electricity was back after numerous breaker resets. For a resort like this one and the price per night I dont expect to have problems with basic things like electricity and water! Not happy at all.
When I asked them for refund they pointed me to Expedia so now I'm stuck between the two. Hoping Expedia support can quickly resolve the issue and give me refund.

The only part of the stay that was disappointing was the beach. It’s supposed to be an ocean that you can jump into and go swimming. Crash against some waves. That’s a big negative. The ocean was a mile away. And when the tide came in it was above ankle deep for as long as you can walk out. Not what we were expecting! Other than that it was a great place to stay if you prefer a pool!

Beach Safety Warning
We stayed at Laguna Shores Resort and had a scary experience walking out to the beach during low tide. What looked like firm sand quickly turned into soft mud—we began sinking waist-deep before realizing what was happening. Thankfully, we kept calm and got out, but it could have ended badly.

There were no warning signs about this natural hazard, and we saw other guests walking even farther out across similar terrain. If you're not from a coastal area (like us), this type of tidal mudflat is not something you’d expect. Be very careful near the shoreline during low tide and ask the resort staff for guidance.

The resort itself is beautiful, but I strongly suggest they add signage and safety guidance about the beach to help guests avoid what we went through.

Broken dark shade, headboard, hot tub, luke warm water in sink and shower. Bugs on the floor everyday. After many complaints no comps. With one day left they offered to move us but we already had packed and was leaving. Staff answer was “I Don’t Know” to everything. Ice was $3 a bag. Dirt roads and
long drive to other restaurants. I could go on but you get the picture. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. Take them off your sight.

The restaurant on the resort wasn’t appeasing to my liking but the staff were great. The tiki bar at the pool played great music and free activities were included. Loved the location and the beach area. The 1 bedroom family condo allows dogs which was great for us. We all had a great time and the beach is beautiful. Just be prepared that the tide comes in for a couple of hours and then goes back out. We cannot wait to go back so we can walk the ocean floor when the tide retreats for over a mile! What a great way to get steps in and allow the dogs to freely roam and make friends with the crabs!

Please note that the dogs can only freely roam on the beach away from the buildings but must be leashed while everywhere else. The dogs cannot be in the pool area and it is enforced and the security is great.

Laguna Shores is very quiet, especially at night which we appreciated. We have stayed at other locations all over Rocky Point and this by far tops the list for being quiet!!

The food at the restaurant is great and the pricing was not bad. The food available during the day at the pool is amazing. The tacos are very very good and we were not disappointed. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

Please note there are a couple of stores close by to get alcohol and snacks. If you plan on eating out then plan on driving about 20 mins or so to the resort area and restaurants! Though you may have to drive the stay is worth it.

Cando was very clean and has a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a huge fridge!

Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Our room tv did not work and there was no microwave, but staff offered to change our room our last nite and also provided us with a drink of choice.
Due to a recent rain, the road into the resort was flooded and we could not enter for several hours later. They need to properly maintain their road for residents as well as those staying in the hotel.

YOU CANNOT SWIM IN THE OCEAN HERE! I unfortunately did not do my proper research on the tides. I’ve stayed in Puerto Penasco previously but with the photos and the promise of a beach front property and beach access, I thought I’d at least be able to touch the ocean. Unfortunately the ocean at the highest tide does not reach near the shore at all. I was excited to rent kayaks, and then realized I couldn’t even take them to the ocean..
I was also excited for a room with a hot tub, but upon filling it, it was extremely yellow/brown and left a thick residue of what looked like tanning oil or something of the sort on all of the sides. The bed was less than desirable as there was no movement to be made without huge noises and a microwave in the room would’ve been wonderful. Unfortunately will not be staying again ):

Had a short but lovely getaway here for my birthday and I was wonderfully impressed! The food at Infusion del Golfo is great, the service across all areas of the resort is top-notch and the villa we stayed in was absolutely lovely. And it's just beautiful, an easy drive into Rocky Point itself but nice and quiet and safe and private if you don't want to venture too far.

This property is definitely a tourist trap full of newly build or homes being built to possibly catch your interest to purchase, definitely not a resort!!! Images of property and where you stay is not as shown or advertised. The \"beach front \" property or should I say marsh from property, is far from any thing of convenience. To get to an actual beach or food is Abt 30. The check in at first was great, people nice, until we let them know we weren't staying after all, and would like refund , 360 attitude change from the gentleman, whom got angry and was well the description said this and I was like. I and showed him , well it said that and I wa alike no and showed him what's on Expedia com. The young lady was nice and felt bad. Someone who just checked in early said they were leaving as well. We asked if can receive refund because of false advertisement and they stated we had to go through Expedia. Which we have reached out but haven't heard back.

This hotel is a few changes away from being absolutely awesome. Great value overall from room to restaurant. The place does look like the pictures. The pool is nice, but not heated (great in summer, a little chilly in October). The beach is extremely tide dependent, and can right outside the resort or miles away in the low tide. Great for collecting shells or sea creatures, we found a beautiful sandy beach just a short walk north during the high tide. It's a little remote, but a good value overall.

First of all, I ended up leaving the first night we got there. My friends and I didn’t stay at this place, we ended up getting a different place call Playa Bonita which was wayyyyyyy better. First thing first, the place is far away from everything! It’s approximately 25-30mins away from bars, restaurants, activities, entertainments… Secondly, the staff were very rude and inconsiderate. There’s one elevator and I asked for my room to be on the 1st floor due to my friend and I having health issues/knees problems, and the staffs at the front desk rudely dismissed us and weren’t considerate of our request. Thirdly, we managed to check out the room and the room were not as describe. Different in person than on the internet/Expedia. We stayed in the room for about an hour looking for another location to book, and while in the room, we noticed mosquitoes and flies flying around the room. The room also didn’t have a microwave, dirty windows and beds pillow cases and sheets were dirty. And lastly, when we turn in the sink water, it was coming out brown. Overall, this place was not suitable for our stay and we ended up leaving after we found a different place to stay, which was Playa Bonita Resort. Top tier service at Playa Bonita. Loved everything about it!

Property is great. But no beach side accessible for me and my 2 infants. The sea water only gets close for about 2 hours twice a day. I guess it has to do with the moon. Ended up driving to playa Bonita to enjoy the beach and sea water.
Another detail in the hotel: In order to enjoy their main amenities,; one has to drive with in the property. It’s too hot to walk and even harder with infants.

Lots of construction in the area, thats why we gave it a 3 for surrounding area. A microwave in the room would be nice. Better menu, same everyday. Not knowing anything about the area, we were not thrilled about the tide having to come in a mile or so everyday to make this waterfront property. Little deceiving. Staff was the highpoint. The pool was great. Should try harder about getting rid of all the bees. I saw a ground Squirrel take a french fry off a plate that was going out to a customer... yikes.

Been commimg here for 4 years in a row already and sadly every year quality decreases in this place, the idea is good but a change in management or rules seems needed.
I have to say that every single staff member here is awesome.
1. The pool bar closes at 6pm now, they take away the music and dont offer drinks anymore, this is very disrespectful for the people that's at the pool after 6pm, if you are going to do that at least allow people to bring their own drinks and music.
2. Lighting in the pool after 6 is needed.
3. Pool cleaning needs a lot of improvement.
4. Bedrooms infested with drain flies
5. We are in 2024 , by now we all know how timeshare work and or fractional shares, and we know they are useless,either offer something better and respect it or once we say know leave us alone and let us enjoy our vacations.

Again place is good but changes are needed asap...

The property is beautiful as are the rooms - though they aren’t soundproof as advertised - the family above us had littles that were constantly moving around furniture. I would suggest placing families in the lower levels - it’ll be easier for them too since there aren’t any elevators. I would also suggest placing more bilingual employees in the staffing areas that have the most interaction with guests - I only visited the activities center once and we had to use Google translate - which I don’t mind personally but English is clearly listed under the languages spoken section so it’s implied that those types of employees are more multi-lingual than they actually were. I booked my stay through Expedia and really did not like being bombarded with a sales pitch for vacation ownerships right at check in - this information was not listed anywhere in the property descriptions on Expedia. The incentives are great though, as was the person who signed us up for the property tour was also I was just a bit blindsided. I also wished there were more options on the dinner menu. It’s also very expensive - but worth it - everything I ate there was amazing - but a kids menu would be beneficial and some more affordable choices - primarily for the families staying longer term given how far the property is from the city. Overall our stay was amazing and we had a wonderful time!

There were certain staff members who assumed we didn’t speak Spanish because we are black and called us out of our names and suddenly felt stupid when we talked back in Spanish. Zero music can be played from your room after 10 but people can be screaming inside there room and nothing be done. They say the beach is right out the door but they fail to tell you the tides only come close during 2pm-4pm, otherwise the tides are 4 miles away.
