Would not recommend. Property is not well maintained (very outdated, there’s still signs from covid 2020). Pool/hot tub are not clean. Rooms are outdated, beds are so uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was okay, but would not stay at property if you’re doing it for the free breakfast. First night we were there a baseball team (4 buses full) stayed too. Loud music was playing til 10 pm, but these guys continued being loud till after 12 am. Needless to say us and our kids did not sleep that night. Hotel staff did nothing about it. We liked that the beach was a very short walk so that was nice. Other than that would not recommend and will not be staying there again. (Pictures on Expedia are deceiving)

Over all for the price it was great. You can hit the beach with a rock from the hotel. The menu at the restaurant was great and everyone spoke English enough to communicate everything. Would definitely recommend if you aren't sure where to stay and didn't want to pay a big price to come down and scope things out. Everything is about a mile from the hotel. Since it's part of Playa Bonita we were able to go eat at the resort next to the hotel. Not sure if you're supposed to do this but no one stopped us 😅

I'll start off by saying that everyone who said that this hotel is in a poor location- is flat out lying. It's in a great spot, close to the beach, and a quick drive away from all of the action near the malecon.

The hotel itself was quite clean with a beautiful pool area and extremely friendly staff. The breakfast, in my opinion, was also quite tasty. While the options were limited, the quality of the chilaquiles were quite high.

Only one negative point in my eyes- the beds really are quite hard. We ended up leaving a bit early on our last night just to get home a little quicker to sleep. If you have enough tequila, you might get a good night's sleep.

If this is your first time going to puerto peñasco then this place is great for overnight & budget stay.
There is free breakfast ! Chilaquiles , refried beans. Yogurt granola & coldd cereal . Its not a wide selection but for frree I'm pleased.

Location is pretty secure & beach is just across the street !!!

There are np elevators . 3 floors
the room was nothing like the pictures !

False advertising ! very outdated
beds were rough but if you're tired you just fall asleep.
The staff I only saw 1-2 people .

Firstly, the hotel IS NOT located where Expedia indicates it is located. It is, in fact, 20 minutes further away.

The price would indicate this is a relatively high end accommodation, but it is equivalent to an average Motel 6, with a fair value closer to $50/night.

There is a rock band that begins playing at 9:30 pm, and plays until 1:00 am. If you have a pool/ocean view room like I did, the drums echo VERY LOUDLY into your room. The furthest room is only 50 feet from the stage, which is separated from the pool area by a plastic sheet, not a wall.

The beds are so hard you will likely wake up with bruised ribs. And I stayed in mid-February, so I had to strip the bedding off the second queen bed to not freeze to death at night.

The rooms have been cleaned well, but the carpet and bedding is very old and shows stains of past guests.

The location is roughly in the middle of the beach, but behind the beachfront hotels, so the ocean view is only partial. And if you want to sleep at night, you will have to opt for the desert view rooms, which don't have balconies and are much more dated, and smaller.

There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves \"western food\". There is one hotel restaurant a short walk away, which is expensive. All other food and entertainment is a minimum 20 minute walk away, with no street lights.

There are no safes in the rooms, and only 5 small ones at the front desk. A laptop won't fit.

The beach is very nice, as were the sunrise and sunset.

The pictures on the site do not reflect the room conditions. Theres nothing luxurious about this hotel. Some of the descriptions that were given on the site also dont reflect what is actually true. The hotel is not on the beach but it was a couple of feet away and there was direct access.

The room had dirty walls. The beds are EXTREMELY hard! The sheer curtain had a hole in it. The bathroom door dragged on the floor and made a lot of noise. One of the sheets on the bed had stains. Nowhere on the description of the hotel did it advertise the band. They play from about 10 pm - 2 am. It was really loud making it hard to sleep.

I had called to get more pillows and was denied because the front desk doesnt have the key to be able to get any. The phone in the room barely worked. The internet kept going in and out. At one point, all electricity went out for a brief moment.

The 'desert view standard room' we were assigned was no where close to the advertised space. Our view was toward a parking lot, the fixtures and furniture were old and well worn, the mattress was placed on a homemade wooden platform without a box spring, there was no refrigerator. The front desk staff said they were unable to break a 200 peso bill into smaller bills and offerred no apology, and the breakfast buffet was not really worth eating.

Our stay at Laos Mar Hotel was just ok. We were on the second story and none of the balconies had chairs to sit out on. The pool was not heated. They did not have any beach chairs to use on the beach and the staff was not to happy about guest using pool towels on the beach.
Our room was clean but the soap and shampoo and conditioner that they provided was pretty much for one use, very small. In the shower no place to put the little bar of soap and shampoo/conditioner but on the floor.
I don't think i would come back to this hotel.

fine. We were able to walk across the street to the beach which was very nice. There was a live band playing each night. we had a very pleasant and relaxing time. The location and the price was good.

First off, the hotel has no elevators so you can load you belongings to the second floor. The hotel is very poorly maintained for what they are charging. The room was not like in the pictures and the room was dirty. They do not dust the fans and the bed blankets are cheap looking bath towel instead of actual blankets. The keys constant are not working for the rooms so you have to go once a day to the lobby to have it reprogrammed.

I paid extra for ocean view. Our room was rather dirty, the sheets were clean. Huge dust balls on ceiling fan, but apparently it's cool to just paint over the mold in the ceiling?

Staff excellent, the restaurant was absolutely terrific and had some amazing dishes.

Not what I expected for near $200 night all in price, especially in the off season.

This hotel is rated as a 4⭐️ hotel, I would say it’s closer to 3. It was horrible but definitely wasn’t a 4 star. They say they have free WiFi but whenever I asked the staff for help on it because it never showed up on my phone or laptop they didn’t help. Also had to ask twice for help in my bathroom because the toilet was making constant noise and I would get locked out of it. The water in the shower was good but the pressure would randomly change to a lot of pressure to less while showering. The pool looked dirty. The beds are clean but very hard. I liked costa elegante much better.
The good things were that it is pretty close to Playa Bonita (playa Bonita resort is much closer though) and it does have free breakfast which had a good selection and changed daily. This is good if you don’t drive there because there’s no walkable restaurants near by without taking a taxi.
There was a young man who was helpful, the other staff was not.

I would not come back to this property until the ownership make more upgrades to their services & rooms. I booked 2 rooms, none of them had good internet (actually it was awful WiFi). One of the rooms had a smelly toilet. Pool was clean, whirlpool was not in working condition. Breakfast bar was great. The lady in charge was very friendly! The area was safe!

Hotel was maybe a 2 star hotel...definitely not a 4...they dont tell you that there is a bar attached to the hotel with love music every nite from 9pm to 2am to 3am...it was so loud, you can clearly hear the lyrics in your room. We were in room 236. Also, the \"ocean view\" is 3 blocks away...not worth the upgrade

Got on Hotels.com and saw this and did a last minute trip with family and when we arrived the rooms were super hot, fans and lights not working properly, and not but least the pool water was black and the men were tossing in pool shock right in front of us. The website NEVER said anything about the pool being OUT OF ORDER, rooms not in proper condition for the heat. We will never stay or book a room there again. My family was broken hearted and stressed too have to find another place to stay.. NOT a great feeling!!

From the time we arrived to the time we left, we felt welcomed and attended to. Every single member of staff from front desk personnel, to security, to housekeeper, and down to the breakfast lady were very professional and courteous. The beds were comfy. The view was impeccable. Breakfast was made fresh and very delicious. The resort has 24/7 gated security. There is a boardwalk with easy access to the beach. The pool has rocks you can sit on for great photo ops and the jacuzzi was soothing. There was a security guard which was off duty at the time that we bumped into on the boulevard. He took it upon himself to stop and ensure myself and my two daughters were safe and didn't need anything. That was above and beyond his duties and I wish I would have gotten his name. I didn't ge the opportunity to thank him before we left the hotel, but I am so grateful for him. Thank you so much for an incredible vacation experience!! Laos Mar we will definitely be going back soon. Primeramente Dios.

Definitely not what i expected i stayed two nights the room was not clean after the first night which means no clean towels or extra soap and even toilet paper which was really disappointed on that part. Breakfast was average. The stuff was ok not rude but not nice either. Had problems with the key since arrival. Had to go back on forth to the lobby to get the key fix allll my stayed. However angel from front desk was the most nice person in that place even over the phone before i arrived to mexico had several questions and was always a great help. Not bad but kind of disappointed overall.

My new place to stay!

This is a little unassuming gem that I’ve stayed at twice, just wish it had a mini fridge. Clean and super close to beach using the walk path. I like the breakfast that’s included, worth an easy $12-15 somewhere else! Staff is friendly and the live music at Tapeo next door is nice! Grounds are clean. Great for a couple nights stay. If you don’t want to pay condo prices, check this place out. The beds are comfy too, more on firm side but work for me and I’ve got all kinds of aches!

Overall property is average. Beds are very firm and do not have bedspreads - just sheet and light blanket. Rooms also do not have refrigerator or microwave. Recommend booking a room on the first floor, property has no elevators. Our room was on the 3rd floor and my mom doesn’t get around well, so traveling up and down 3 flights of stairs was not suitable. Breakfast, restaurant and bar on site were incredible.

Reception was amazing they even allowed us to check in early. However unfortunately the room did not meet our expectations. The bathroom faucet did not have water and the tub had a leak, so we heard a drop of water every second throughout the night. The walk to the beach was a very short 3 min walk though so that made up for the inconvenience.

Surprisingly Nice!

We booked this room last minute for a quick one night stay during a very busy weekend in Rocky Point when most other hotels had doubled or tripled their price. The map feature on Hotels.com took us to the wrong place so don't use it. This small hotel is just left of Playa Bonita and uses the same gated entrance. The hotel staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean, had great water pressure, and a cute pool area with a lagoon entrance for littles. There was a nice bar area but was closed during our stay for some reason. They include a very nice breakfast where a lovely senora was doing all of the actual cooking. My only complaint was that the beds were very firm but overall, a great value and I would stay here again!

Property was grand at one time. Lack of upkeep and cleanliness has degraded the property. I have pictures of broken window in our first room as well as A/C not positioned in wall correctly and I suspect it was pushed in by someone. Room floors were dirty. Second room, floors had something dripped on them and hot water in sink was turned off or did not do anything.
I will not be using Expedia in the foreseeable future.

There was no door knob on the restroom. There excuse was, that kids lock the doors in the restroom and there is no key for them. When you can buy door knobs with a pin hole to open them with a pointy screwdriver. There was no refrigerator in the room. When it stay on the booking, each room has a refrigerators.
