The negatives. Well as I've stayed here before I mentioned months ago that the treadmill in the gym needs servicing as its dangerous. Then on my last visit only a month ago I mentioned this again - its still not serviced & repaired. It's an accident waiting to happen. It should be taken out of service.

Unfortunately we stayed for New Years eve - a big mistake. A bar just down the road had very very loud music playing until 4am. It was impossible to sleep. We asked reception if they could request the music was turned down - but the member of staff said he couldn't do that and it happens every year at this bar. All in all this really spoilt our stay. What a shame.

I have lost count of the times I have stayed at Hotel Porto.
Its cleanliness is outstanding, its location is perfect & it certainly is value for money.
Its the first time my room didn't have a view but it was spacious, had excellent lighting, a fridge & air conditioning.
Kevin was kind enough to arrange to have a kettle with disposable cups & a few teabags upon request & I bought fruit, milk & Nescafe to have early mornings.
The only disappointment was that theTV only had Channels in Spanish & I used to be snle to find an English channel previously.
I watch the news travel programmes and documetaries occasionally, but there was nothing available with subtitles on any of the many Spanish channels avaliable.
The restaurant adjoining the hotel gave 10%

Really lovely little hotel. Simple rooms with everything you need, the whole property is spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff. Great location for the beach and the town. Try and get a room with a balcony overlooking the port. Highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cleaner on our floor was so efficient and always had a friendly comment to make. Room was clean, everything you needed was there except perhaps for tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good value and was of decent quality. We used the cafe next door a few times, fine for coffees and snacks but the meals weren't wonderful. Would recommend the hotel as we felt it was good value.

The hotel is incredibly clean, staff are friendly and it’s well located for the beaches, peñal d’ifach etc. it felt a little basic - e.g. no kettles in the room, no table on balcony, but for the price it’s very good value. Breakfast felt a little expensive for 11€ but was tasty with a decent selection of stuff. I’d stay here again.

A lovely little hotel close to the port. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with a view of the Rock. Great shower,towels etc. Only thing missing was a Tea Tray and kettle. Breakfsat was very good with plenty of choice both hot and cold dishes ,pastries , fruit, yoghurts etc etc We would stay again if we come back to Calpe.

Our week long stay left us wishing we were staying longer. The 3-star rating does not do it credit. We have stayed in 4-star hotels not as good as this one.
Our full sea front view room was first class with a lovely balcony overlooking the port, we had a fridge, huge fitted wardrobe and, on request, a kettle was supplied. A beautiful modern bathroom with towels changed daily. The deaily cleaning by the maid was perfect.
Breakfast was top class with a huge selection of fresh fruits, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit juices, yogurts, fresh pastries and cakes plus a wide selection of hot foods, bacon, sausages, eggs etc.
My wife remarked it was the first hotel we have ever had perfectly fried eggs with a soft yolk.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful especially Kevin and Simona on reception.
The local bus service into Calpe and the Old Town is only two minutes walk away.
Beautiful beaches and promenades are close by and you can walk along the promenade to Calpe in 20mins or so.
A wonderful hotel and we will definitely return next year.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect, nice clean room with a nice view and window, good aircon, friendly staff, nice shower. Wonderful restaurants just next door serving great value food and in a great location. We hired a car and parking was no problem as there is free parking just a 1-2 minute walk towards the port clearly marked.

Hotel is nice and clean. Room is clean and spacious.
Location is brilliant, by the port. Lots of restaurants and shops around.
The main beach is only 5mins away and there is a small beach opposite the hotel.
For a solo person. It is save to walk around.

It is away from the centre but easy walk around 35mins into the heart of things or local bus about 14mins.
Only issue I had was I wanted to extend my stay there and emailed the hotel in advance but on one replied so I had to book somewhere central to stay

I have visted Calpe for the last 35 years, having seen the town change significantly in that time. For me, the Hotel Porto Calpe is the best price to value hotel and probably one of the best located; really close to Peñon de Ifach and the port, which has the best seafood and traditional restaurants in the town.

The staff are super friednly and helpful and the hotel maintained to a high, cleanly level.

Lovely hotel , beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Right next to the fishing port and approx 25 mins walk to Calpe town centre. 4 or 5 bars and restaurants right next to the hotel and plenty more in the town. BBC and ITV stations available which was a pleasant surprise. Very helpful staff , also English speaking.

A Little Gem of a Hotel

I love this little hotel which I’ve stayed at many times , it’s clean , comfortable and every member of staff is so helpful and friendly and the breakfast is delicious , fresh and lots of choice ! The position of the hotel is fantastic, near the port , the marina and the Penion de Ifach so has spectacular views ! It’s easy to get around as there’s plenty of buses ! I am quite concerned to see Jet2 are now doing package holidays there as I like that it’s a very Spanish hotel I’m hoping it doesn’t spoilt the ambiance!

Hotel in excellent position with great views over the harbour. The only setback, at this time of year, is the limited amount of restaurants, in the harbour, that are open in the evenings. To walk to the main area of Calpe is about 20-30 minutes for alternatives. Nevertheless, it did not spoil my 10 day break and I have suffered the same problem in other Spanish mainland coastal areas

I was checked in by Christian. I paid for an upgrade for a superior room, which had a sea view. All other options had a “partial sea view.” I really wanted to take advantage of my location on the Mediterranean so I paid for the upgrade. I was first give room 511. It was the room in the hotel the absolute farthest from the sea. If I stepped out on the balcony and craned my neck I could see the sea. I asked Christian to make this right, but all he did was argue with me. When I persisted, he finally agreed to move me to room 508. The view from 508 was of the mountains—not the sea. I have never been so frustrated or disappointed with a hotel. Christian should be fired. The sad thing is that the hotel was not full. I believe the were several rooms with a sea room that remained empty that night. When you pay for an upgrade, but don’t get it one, it makes your whole experience stink. I travel to Calpe for business. I will never stay there again.

Breakfast was reasonable though the hot food was limited and the same every day, Weiner's, bacon and fried eggs. One of our party was vegan and there were milk alternatives but some baked beans would have been nice. I would stay again without hesitation

We chose this hotel for its great location with views of El Peñón de Ifach and the port. There is plenty to do around the hotel, including dozens of bars and restaurants, boat trips, beaches, nature walks etc. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and good value. There is a cute land train if you don’t want to walk into the town centre - but the walk along the beach promenade is fabulous and passes by some Roman bathing pools that are still in use today. Highlights included dinner in the huge, open-air fish and seafood restaurants just over the road from the hotel, and a visit to the narrow, beautiful streets of the old town.
