I have booked this hotel through Expedia and I have select payment options pay at the property but they have changed me as next day then I have called hotel and they’re said we have to charge.
When I went to hotel 15 minutes early and I tried to check in and they said you need to wait 15 minutes because you came in early come back after 15 minutes. After 15 minutes again I try to check in they take me 1 hour to check in
Also when I booked the hotel they have not mentioned anything about security deposit but on checking in time they are charged me $100 for deposit
Also room condition is very bad like
Rooms are dirty
Toilets some one used but not flush
Bathtub has black mold and also very dirty
Some Light bulbs are not working
I have booked 3 rooms but all rooms have same problem
Then I went to complain all about this on front desk then they are saying you can give me an hour I will change you room

It’s really highly recommend don’t book this hotel if you planning to go there better you can use any other hotel.

There needed to be a night stand by each side of the bed due to the my husband and I wear a CPAP machine at night. The elevators are very small so it is a tight squeeze to get the baggage cart and the two of us in the elevators. The pictures online are not a correct representation of the condition of the hotel. The hallway carpets are filthy. We had asked for extra towels since we did not ask for cleaning service for our room. The front desk staff asked us to bring our dirty towels down to them. Our room keys were deactivated earlier than our checkout date.

The room was great and fit our family perfectly. The carpet in the hallway had a stench of wet carpet with a mix of ammonia throughout our stay. It was not pleasant to walk through. They also need to mention that we have to pay for parking in their parking lot. That was not mentioned on the hotel details. The limit for the dog says 50lbs, but there were people there with much bigger and heavier dogs, so we were confused as to how they were allowed to stay there. Had we known that we would have taken our bigger dog as well.

We booked and then read reviews and couldnt cancel but we show up amd im expecting the worst, exterior needs some loving, walk in to check in staff was helpful, lobby was clean looking, 2 elevators only for the size of this hotel, elevators are small also. Hallways need loving missing trim around elevators, carpets looking a little dirty again im expecting a old looking smelly room we walk in and we surprised very decent room, oceanview. Restroom was bad, mirror wasn't centered correctly there's a small gap, the pool area needs some touch up and pool itself needs some work missing tiles mainly, over all we we be going back we were pleased w our stay. Also 10 plus tax parking each day.

The location is unbeatable! Right on the beach and that’s amazing! The place was packed with people so I was little surprised that the facilities weren’t in better shape. It was clean but old AC system did not keep out room cool so they brought us a fan and mini split. Glad they had that solution but it was LOUD. I would go back just wish they would update a few things. Pool was a little cloudy.

This place is a hidden gem. I love coming here on the off-season. It’s right on the beach. There’s an outside bar by the pool and an indoor restaurant along with a bar as well. Such a great place to visit. The room is always clean and the staff is always been really nice. They are doing some renovations to the building, but there’s one thing that’s a small issue is the elevators. They are small and they make quite a bit noise. But other than that, I love coming here.

The facility just look uncleaned. The lobby has clumps of hair all over the floor. The room had sand and what looked like dog hair on the furniture. Stains on the furniture. Dust caked on the lamp shades. 2 lamps looked burned and not replaced. There were holes all over The walls. We ended up staying elsewhere with family and only used the shower after the beach.

Overall hotel cost was fair for the location. Hotel was not up to date, visible repairs made to room, coffee in lobby was always empty, pool was not clear, small flies throughout the entire hotel including our rooms. Had three rooms. No early check in and one room was ready at 6pm. Garbage in halls were overflowing, employees always on their cell phones. Long line at check in. Only two elevators, workout room was not it and machines are in poor conditions. Only two towels in each room when it sleeps 4 guest & manager was not available Sun- Tuesday during our stay!

The location of the property is great. But, that’s where it ends. You can tell the hotel was once nice, but it is run down & not well maintained. No one cleaned or refreshed our room while we were there. (No do not disturb sign on the door.) No drinks allowed by the pool. (They say per city ordinance, but that’s not true just an excuse. I spoke to the bartenders.) The food is very average at the restaurant & they were “sold out” of the first 2 things I tried to order off the menu. No beach amenities available like chairs or umbrellas, so while it is beach front, if you don’t haul your own gear, you’re out of luck. The TV in our room didn’t work properly. It would randomly glitch out & turn off. Happened while trying watch the World Cup in PKs! While, this isn’t the worst hotel ever. It’s not great & especially for the price. It’s very average.

1/5 — AC failure, downgrade, and poor handling of the issue

Booked an Ocean View Balcony suite. AC failed within 2 hours of check-in, and we were moved to a standard room with no ocean view. Refrigerator in that room was also broken. Manager verbally agreed to a refund but said Expedia had to process it — Expedia then couldn’t get authorization from hotel staff for 2 days. When I called Expedia from the lobby to follow up, a manager approached and commented on my tone in front of other guests, instead of addressing the actual issue. Eventually the GM agreed to a full refund but asked us to vacate early, which wasn’t reasonable with two young kids and no notice. Room condition and service issues aside, the handling of the complaint was the bigger problem.

2nd floor hallway celling was leaking had a big spot on the carpet where the water was falling Then walking out to the balcony another leak we could not stand outside without getting wet. Balcony door did not lock. Parking was not covered it was $25. Outside restrooms need to be cleaned a little more often. We really expected to be a little bit better for the $600 Price we paid.

For the price of the room, it should've been better maintained. The repairs on the room were sloppy, balcony door was hard to open and shut. Hallway carpet was dirty and stained. Very unpleasant looking. The AC in the room did not cool, sent us broken unusable fan as the \"fix\" for the ac not cooling. Requested another room and staff never called back to resolve the issue. The pool is nice but dirty. Algae growing on the edges..no water for the coffee maker. The view is about the only thing good about this room. The cleaning staff was helpful and friendly. Parking is not free either. so be lucky to find a parking spot because others in the neighborhood take up the parking lot.

The floor of our room seemed dirty and not properly cleaned. Obviously water is everywhere since the beach is closed by and the hotel does nothing to clean the wet floors including the elevator.

We had a great stay. The hotel is in a very good location. The beach was easily accessible and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good, though the service was slow. The building needs remodeling, but it was clean and everything worked. The view of the beach from our balcony was great. We will most likely stay here again.

This place was so terrible that we only stayed for one out of the two nights we paid for. We would have left before night one but it was already late in the day and we had a 3 hour drive back home. The room was so run down, broken faucet, there were crackers and food crumbs that fell off of the sleeper sofa when we were setting that up, the hallways and carpet were disgusting, the front desk staff were so rude, there was mold in several areas including our room. The location is fantastic, litterly steps to the water but the quality of the hotel needs so much help. I would not recommend this place. Stay at one of the hotels in back of here and walk to the beach that way.

The hotel is Literally on the beach, great location. The hotel needs a lot of serious maintenance and upkeep. Badly Stained carpets everywhere, it made the hotel look cheap and dirty. Our bath tub had a huge crack between it and the wall. The a/c was not working properly and we sweated the whole time we were there. Our son’s room was worse, our complaints were answered with excuses. No results. Our next door neighbors in room 308 told us thier a/c was completely off and slept with the door open to the hallway.

This is the most uncomfortable day I’ve ever had at a hotel. This being a Wyndham hotel it is really hard to even explain. For the entire week one of the two of the smallest elevators I’ve ever seen sounded like it was screeching all the way up and all the way down. The AC only worked half the time. If you needed clean towels or turn down Service…. You had to bring your dirty towels down and get your own clean ones. And for some stupid reason, the fire alarm would go off every day at 10:30. This was the most disappointing stay I have ever had at a Wyndham hotel. They concierge staff were helpless. What was supposed to be a restful week turned into a disaster. Thanks, Wyndham.

I stayed here previously. The hotel has direct access to the beach and the property is pet friendly which is great as a new pet owner. The weather was bad this trip so I spent a lot of time in the room. It seems my room was updated in a hurry. The bathroom towel rack, tub faucet and handle weren’t installed correctly and I was afraid they were going to come out of the wall anytime I touched them. Another downer, guests started fighting for hours - yelling, screaming, slamming doors late one night and the staff couldn’t control them.

This hotel has the BEST view of the beach - right out in front of the hotel. The outside pool and bar were right on the beach. That's the extent of the positives.

The hotel is a 3 star (low end of 3) - not a 4 star as advertised. The rooms were clean but very sparse rooms. The property is old and dated. It was a great weekend vacation property for me and my 17 year old son - so we were fine with the property for 3 days. However, I was dissappointed when first arriving - its not anywhere near a 4 star property.

The hallways looked like a frat party had been going on for the last two weeks - stains all over. The beds were older and squeaked - A LOT - every time you moved in bed it squeaked. If you know this going in - its an okay property with the best access and view of the beach. I rarely give negative feedback - just wanting to help people know this Wyndham property is not a 4 star hotel.

Great access to the beach and nice pool. It’s only saving grace. I usually love Wyndham resorts, but this one I’d pass on.
Check in was at 4pm, we pre-checked in online and still waited until closer to 5pm to go to the front desk. We waited in line behind 2 people to check in for over 40 minutes. When we got to the desk, we were told our room wasn’t ready yet and that I had to fill out the paperwork that we did online already, because the system was down. They went ahead and moved our room, which I was grateful for until we got to it. The restroom floor was covered in some sort of hair/dirt, there was mold in several places and it look like someone had slapped plaster on the wall by the bed where there was a hole punched or kicked in it. It definitely needs a deep cleaning and some renovations before I’d consider staying there again.

This property is poorly maintained, lots of patch work, filthy floors and carpet, seems like house keeping doesn’t do a good job either. Room felt 1/2 clean, lots of rust, old furniture, you can tell it hasn’t been updated in 10-15 years. Balcony was covered in mildew, outside furniture not clean. They do the bare minimum at this place. Good luck fighting for a spot on the beach in front of the hotel.
However, bedding was clean, tub was spotless, right on the beach so you can’t beat that! View from the room was beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious, drinks from the bar were decently priced. Pool was clean.
It’s definitely a 1 star hotel when it comes to the maintenance and upkeeping. Amenities 2.5 and that’s pushing it. 5 stars for beach access.

Check in time is at 4 and if we arrive sooner, we are charged an early check in fee. But in our case, we arrived at 4 and our room was not ready. They said they could possibly have it ready by 4:30pm. I said is that a guarantee and they said no. I asked for a discount since they would be late and they said no they could offer me a pool pass to wait at the pool. I had kids and we needed to unload after our 4 hour drive so I said no. Then a room all of a sudden came up and they checked us in at almost 430 anyway.
We get to the room amd as soon as we open it, it smells, it smelled like fish. The housekeeper was across the hall so I asked if she could spray our room. She was beyond amazing and checked it. As soon as she walked in she said, \"I don't think your room was even cleaned.\" Honestly fooled me because other than the smell nothing really looked off. She stocked our towels and sprayed the room so good that you would never know it was bad. The sheets we did remove because they too were dirty and there was some trash behind some chair on the corner. The housekeeper did her best but we should've never been placed in that room. I went to CVS and bought cleaners and cleaned the room myself so that we didn't disturb the housekeeper anymore. She really was amazing and kind. I think had that not been the case I would've complained and asked for another room but since she was so great I didn't feel the need to be unkind. Other than that, the staff is kind and amenities are great.

The handle in the shower was broken in our first room and then the tv and phone did not work in the second room. It took two hours before we could get settled and we had driven 3 hours. The location is great! RIGHT on the beach! The Anchor Bar and Grill was awesome— great service at a decent price for drinks. The food was on point! The pool was nice— not overly crowded and a good temperature. The rooms, hallways, and common areas are in need of a major update. The elevators are TINY and a bit sketchy. Dirty, stained carpet in the hallways gave off a musty smell. The beds seemed very worn, and for goodness sakes, spring for satellite tv!

The Wyndham on Whitecap Beach is the perfect place for a beach getaway. Housekeeping never came by to give us fresh towels, and the windows are never maintained, even by the poolside, but while the maintenance and housekeeping are subpar, the overall pleasurable experience is still maintained. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a Corpus trip. Making hotel guests pay for parking on their lot is also ridiculous, especially when there is free parking literally the next lot over.

We stayed here in February, and unfortunately, it was one of the few hotels we can confidently say we would not return to.

The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated, but the updates felt rushed and done as cheaply as possible. While everything looked newer at first glance, it didn’t take long to notice the shortcuts and lack of attention to detail throughout the property.

The one major positive was the location. Being right on the beach was convenient and provided easy access to the water. Unfortunately, our room’s window was so dirty that we couldn’t fully enjoy the view of the beach and parking lot.

The room itself had maintenance issues as well. The bathroom faucet was broken, and when we reported it to staff, there was no apology, concern, or sense of urgency. The response felt more like, “Yeah, we know,” than a genuine effort to address the problem. That interaction really summed up the overall attitude we experienced during our stay.

The pool was a disappointment. It was not well maintained and was very dirty and mold visible. There were also several intoxicated guests around the pool area, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and raised some safety concerns.

The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel left a lot to be desired. Party debris from the night before was still scattered around the lobby the next morning, creating a poor first impression. Several staff members appeared more focused on their phones than on addressing the condition of

The staff was not welcoming upon check in and came across as borderline hostile. The bathroom smelled like mildew. The sheets and towels were rough which was awful because we got sunburned. The hallway carpet on the 5th floor was filthy. They ran out of coffee in the lobby and when I informed the front desk they gestured towards the bar and restaurant and said “tell them”. Don’t get me started on the awful dining experience. And the bar closing at 11 on the weekend; make it make sense. Overall it’s overpriced for the service and the condition of the room.

Entire place needs renovation. Wallpaper peeling. Drop ceiling tiles missing or black in places. Carpet in hallway matted. Room had no microwave, Coffe machine or mini fridge. Pay to park your vehicle. If you don't you get towed. Think it was $10 a night. Restaurant if that's what it is served bare minimum. Nothing terrible nothing special. Elevators will get your attention. Door wants to close no wait it doesn't oh yeah let's close. Check literally starts at 4pm. I showed up early and waited a long time.

We loved the the location, our room, staff was excellent. The Anchor restaurant was delicious along with the drinks! The hotel really does need some work. Just some paint in rooms, new trim around the elevator. Wall paper removed around the elevator would really make it nice. A little work would go a long way.

The roof leaks on floor 6 when it rains. You can see they patch it with spackle. When it rained it washed it away and I saw the black mold it was hiding.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Wyndham Corpus Christi Resort North Padre Island.

The first issue occurred before we even got into our room. We arrived early and were told our room was available and ready, yet the hotel wanted to charge an additional $80 just to check in a few hours early. Charging that much for access to an empty room that was already prepared felt excessive and left a poor first impression.

Unfortunately, things did not improve after check-in. A dog in a nearby room barked continuously for nearly two hours straight. I called the front desk to report the issue, but nothing was done to resolve it. The barking continued and made it impossible to relax in the room.

To make matters worse, dogs were barking throughout the evening and well into the night, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. While I understand this is a pet-friendly property, guests should still be able to enjoy a reasonably quiet stay.

Between the excessive early check-in fee, lack of response to noise complaints, and constant barking dogs, this stay did not meet expectations. I would not choose this property again and would recommend others consider these issues before booking.

Had a great one night stay for our first time. We will definitely be back as regulars. Pool and bar over the beach was my favorite.Restaurants food was very good also. Staff was on point and rooms and other amenities were great. Glad we found it.
