Nice hotel, BUT...

Stayed overnight in one of the suites, paid a holding deposit of 100 Euros on a debit card. On checkout we settled the bill in full and told the holding deposit wiuld be redunded in the next 7 days. This never happened even after sending 5 emails, direct to the hotel and through this app! I had to get my card issuer involved to resolve this a month on. For this reason I cannot recommend thos hotel.

Wonderful Stay

A wonderful stay from start to finish. Hotel is immaculate, spotlessly clean and nicely designed. Our room was extremely nice and clean and looked after 2 adults and 2 children easily. Facilities are excellent with use of spa and pools. Location wise the hotel is perfect, extremely short walk to 2-3 beaches and a 10 minute walk to the town centre for lots of restaurants etc. Our stay couldn’t have been better, highly recommended.

Outstanding location with beautiful ocean views; the hotel has also been fully renovated. The hotel and restaurant staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We were traveling with a young child and the chef made whatever dinner she asked for. Truly a great destination!

Love this hotel and stay here often. It is well situated between the town with shops, restaurants and market (10 min walk) and Pontaillac with it's beach front casino, shops and restaurants (15-20 min walk). Rooms are well appointed, spacious and clean. There is a Spa with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and jets in the pool area as well a gymnasium. A variety of treatments are available book in advance of your stay, list is available to download etc. We have not tried the sea-view restaurant which offers breakfast lunch and dinner with a full extensive menu as we usually go out. Last but not least the staff and management are so welcoming and helpful, have already booked our return visit!

Very disappointing

The hotel reception was the best part of this hotel and the reception staff. Our stay was after the school holidays and was still very expensive for the size and quality of room. I could forgive the size and design of the room if the spa facilities were great, but they also were dated and very small. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are a young couple as the place was full of much older people. The bar and waiting staff were OK but not very friendly or helpful... we stood at the bar for over 15 minutes and then someone walked up in front of us to be served immediately and we were just ignored. We will not be staying at this hotel again in the future. This was our first time to Royan and we were very disappointed.

Booked the Thalazur as had heard lots of good things. Whilst our room was comfortable, the balcony let it down. Given we booked the room with a sea view we were unable to sit on the balcony as no chairs or table. In addition the paving flags were loose and it felt unsafe. Paper cups for coffee in the room was poor as was plastic glasses. We went for an upgraded room so I expected more!!

We had two evening meals at the restaurant and there was no English menu which proved to be frustrating for us. The meal on Sunday April 3 was very disappointing in regards to service. We asked for an English menu and the waitress was very dismissive. When we asked for help with translation she was less than helpful. We were disappointed. We found your front desk personnel very pleasant and most of the rest of the staff were great.

Squeaky bed, wifi connection very poor and frequently dropped out, tea / coffee facility in room, but not enough, mini bar is very expensive @ 3 euros for a can of coke 7 euros for a small can of Heinekan beer.

Spa is an added bonus, free entry, but very busy, additional charges for robs and sandals, but still a nice touch. 13 Euro for breakfast doesn't make this a cheap hotel ( and the breakfast wasn't anything to write home about).

Give the bar and the restaurant a wide birth, both very very expensive @ 20 euro for a round of 3 drinks, 1 vodka tonic, 1 bier 1 small glass red wine, frankly the food was not the quality one would expect for a 4 star hotel.

Ok, but probably won't go back

Nice hotel. Didn't realise quite how good the complimentary spa was which was a real bonus - although make sure you take 'speedo' trunks and a swimming cap. Location is a bit of a walk from the marina which was ok on a sunny evening but in the rain with a pregnant wife had to drive into town. Little beach nearby seems nice.

Hotel bar and restaurant is ok but expensive - much better food in town. Also didn't realise breakfast wasn't complimentary so got hit with a bill for that.

Staff come across a bit snooty and the bar was closed by 10pm - there's not much life here. Hotel is ok inside but a bit run down from the exterior.

All in all, ok. Probably won't go back.

We had a room with a seaview which was lovely. The bed was very comfortable. The only complaints were the constant low pitch hum presumably from the air con, although we switched our off. Paper cups for hot drinks which was not what we expect from a hotel of this class. Lastly the shower screen needed a jolly good scrub. But im only being picky as otherwise this was a very nice hotel. The food was excellent if a bit short on choice. Would definitely return as we didnt have time to sample the spa facilities and would like to do so.

The beds were really comfy & the room was good. It was really quiet in both the hotel & outside. We thought we may have chosen wrongly - it's a 20min walk to town - but it was along the coastal path so the walk was delightful. Didn't eat or use hotel spa facilities, so unable to comment. Parking was easy and free.

We have stayed in both the standard and superior rooms at this Hotel, and found even the Standard room to be of a good quality. The Spa and the outdoor infinity pool is really great with views over the sea. The staff are professional but friendly. For us we found the Hotel Menu a bit pricey at for breakfast so we took our own croissants etc and supply of milk and tea/coffee. Be prepared to walk into the town centre 10/15mins or to Pontaillac where the Casino is 20/25 mins. Will definitely stay here again.

Great views but cleanliness needs work

The views are stunning and the ample amount of free and easy parking is a bonus. The room was nice but it was not very clean. The bathroom in particular needed some attention. They boast having a bar which is open until late but they will be mopping around your feet at 9.45pm. This is a 3 star hotel .... Not 4 in my opinion.

The hotel was everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. My only complaint is that the receptionist tried to \"sell\" us an upgrade to a seaview room for an extra 20 euros; when we compared both rooms (she had to be asked to show us the original room) we discovered that the room we had been allocated had a better \"seaview\" than the one offered as an upgrade.
The use of plastic glasses and styrofoam cups in the room spoiled the overall effect.

We selected the hotel for its prime location, within walking distance of the Royan Port de Plaisance. The hotel is a gem; the upgrade to an ocean view room well worth the cost. Close to Royan restaurants and the magnificent coastal footpath.

Notre chambre était relativement petite pour un voyage en famille. Nous étions 5 (dont un bébé de 2 ans). Le SPA est très bien, le petit-déjeuner aussi. Le personnel est très serviable et très accueillant.

En revanche et contrairement à toute attente pour un établissement de votre standing la literie est vieillissante : matelas qui s’affaisse et ne sont pas du tout confortable, c’est regrettable étant donné le besoin de bien dormir et de pouvoir récupérer lors d’un séjour au sein d’un établissement comme le vôtre.
Le parking payant en sous-sol est également à mon goût un peu exagéré compte tenu du manque de place privative autour de votre Hôtel.

Etablissement agréable et chaleureux dans son ensemble. Chambre Vue mer avec balcon très agréable ,ainsi que la piscine à débordement très sympa et très chaude !
Chambre très propre, taille chambre correcte mais matelas trop mou ainsi que les oreillers !
Espace marin au top propre et bien tenu. Espace fitness qualitatif.
Terrasse très sympa, bien végétalisée. Déco des parties communes réussies.
Il manque une carafe en chambre pour pouvoir utiliser les fontaines dans le couloir et revoir la qualité de la literie qui est vraiment dommage et en dessous des autres Thalazur.

Arrivée avec un enfant de 4 ans, on nous prévient même pas qu’un lit enfant n’a pas été dressé
Ensuite accès au spa autorisé pour tous mais même pas le droit de bouger un petit doigt
Par contre quand j’ai une personne obèse qui entre dans le hammam et qui respire comme un rhinocéros on ne doit rien dire
Pour le prix de la prestation (260 euros la nuitée) nous sommes déçus car au final c’est réservé aux curistes

Het eerste hotel ooit dat mooier is dan de foto's op de site en beter dan het merendeel van de voorgaande comments deed vermoeden. We hadden ons verwacht aan een doorsnee 4-sterren hotel binnen de prijsklasse. U weet wel: grotendeels in orde met wat kleine kantjes. In de plaats kregen we een tot in de puntjes gerenoveerd luxe-hotel, met complete (zoutwater) spa. Het enige dat een minder afgeborsteld verleden doet vermoeden zijn de (nog) niet gerenoveerde veranda-kozijnen. De ligging is perfect op een paar minuutjes van het strand en een kwartiertje stappen van twee dozijn prima brasseries en restaurants. De verwarmde infinity pool en het uitstekend restaurant zijn toppers, samen met het hoffelijke maar vlotte personeel. Twee nota's: het internet is ronduit slecht en 2024 onwaardig, maar dat kan met de ligging te maken hebben. Ten tweede, het hotel geeft \"oord van rust\"-vibes en is niet kindvriendelijk in concept en uitvoering. Het personeel is dat wel en ook de kleine gastronoom kan er zijn gading vinden.

Tutto meraviglioso, le camere, il panorama, la tranquillità, il personale accogliente e disponibile, la colazione. Un solo appunto: la tariffa quotidiana se hai un cane è decisamente alta, in cambio però non c’è alcun servizio di accoglienza per l'animale, che non può accedere alla sala colazione né alla sala ristorante. Può stare con te in terrazza, e se per caso piove non mangi oppure lo lasci da solo in camera. Per cosa si paga, allora?

Nous avons un commentaire négatif sur le SPA.
Le sol de la piscine est horriblement glissant. Et ça ne sert à rien d'afficher sur les murs \"Attention Danger sol glissant\" !!. Ce n'est pas ce qui évite de glisser !! Surtout pour les personnes ayant un peu de mal à marcher. Il vaudrait mieux refaire les dalles entourant la piscine pour y mettre du carrelage anti-dérapant.
Nous confirmons, à l'exception de ce problème, que tout était très bien , notamment l'accueil et le petit déjeuner. La chambre 302 avait une vue splendide sur la mer que nous avons énormément appréciée.

Des travaux dans la partie thalasso. Vue mer en partie obturée par des cabanes de chantier et matériels. Du bruit les jours de travail.., pas accès à la partie piscine et thalasso (nous avions été prévus)

Piscine en travaux!

Très déçu car à l’origine, j’avais réservé dans cet établissement afin de profiter de l’espace aquatique avec ma compagne, espace qui est en travaux jusqu’en juillet.
