Lovely manager siper friendly price point was good for the area x was offered top floor (5 floors up) or basement and was recommend thag the basement is noisy at night,

We had booked the family room for 1 night , we were family of 5.
The room was in basement, no ac, can’t open windows, there was standing fan which was throwing air at 27deg C, when asked for different fan, he said that’s the only option , and he said he uses same fan, when I asked to show he uses much premium fan where we can adjust temperature. It’s next to train track, every time a train goes the room vibrates, almost every 10 min a train passes, imagine horrible night we had. Breakfast was very basic delivered to room, a packet of juice, biscuit, 1 bread and jam, a snack, a yougurt.

The staff are all VERY nice, and they do respond to issues. There is NO AIR CONDITIONING, though there was a fan in the room. There is a mini fridge in the room which is great - though it had no temp adjustment and froze our water and milk. They deliver a basket of croissants/buns, yogurt, juice, butter & marmalade, cookies/snack bar to the room for breakfast at the time you specify, and they were nice to supply that in the evening when we were leaving before 8:00 in the morning. There is a safe in the room, but it didn't work so they gave us an override physical key to keep during our 5 night stay. The TV remote had corroded batteries in it, they replaced them and it turned on the TV and changed channels but it did not turn off the TV so we had go to the power button on the TV to turn it off. The room looked nothing like any of the photos on Expedia, much darker and smaller. It was a tiny double bed (and was uncomfortable for two small adults). Our biggest problem however was that the WIFI DIDN'T WORK, it would connect for a moment then turn off on both our devices over and over again - it was impossible to use in that room, and they were not able to correct it. We wound burning thru our cellular data on our eSIM in order to access the internet, email, WhatsApp, etc. A great location for Paddinton Station and the metros. All in all, I wished we had balked at the room and asked for another or stayed elsewhere (I'm not a 'make waves' kind of person, but wish I had).

The area around the hotel is ok ; close to the metro and with a lot of restaurants just a few minutes walk. The room was very small for 3 adults but clean enough and with a private bathroom. We can hear the metro in the bedroom but we accomodate. The staff brings you the breakfast at your door because there is no breakfast room in the hotel. So you don't have the choice of what you eat...

Basic small room, with tiny En-suite. Very handy for the tube, but you can also feel the tube. Ok for a base to do stuff in London, but don't bring too much stuff with you as it won't fit.

Travelled for business. Basic and comfortable, but not completely clean, and the bathroom appeared to have a broken drain. No secure luggage storage, and it's soon obvious the hotel is above the tube line. Ironing board available on request, but was a rusty old thing with no cover and the iron stained my shirt a little.
Overall I'd strongly recommend avoiding for anything but a cheap lads' holiday until the owners renovate.

They provide a continental breakfast brought to your room. Mini fridge in room and kettle to heat wayer. The shower head could be located higher. I'm 5'3\" and still had to duck down. There is not lift/elevator so if you have issues using stairs do not stay here. Very close to Paddington station, Hyde Park, restaurants, bars, and stores.

We booked Tony’s House, but on arrival were moved to the Dolphin next door. The room looked nothing like the photo advertised and the bathroom was ridiculously small. We climbed 3 v steep stairs. Reception staff, friendly, breakfast staff did not acknowledge us. Basic, small, but clean room. There was a loud generator type noise. We had to move the bed into the middle of the room so we could both get in and out without climbing over the other. That meant moving the small table and chair to block the door and hanging space. The bathroom was tiny, we are small people, anyone “large” would not be able to use it. The breakfast was limited, but OK. Cramped dining room. The underground runs underneath. If your room was in the basement you would hear it.

Nice place to stay friendly staff , no parking unless you pay a lot if you park for a long, free from 6.30 pm till 8 am time traffic wardens are very keen so don't risk it traffic warden was there by 9am checking cars lots of cars had tickets some multiple very thin road if you have a big car its tight drive slow

The hotel itself is not great. I was in the basement and the trains running underneath are very loud . Also the stairs are very steep and not suited to elderly people. This room should not be offered as accommodation

We had a terrible experience at Tony's House Hotel. When we arrived, there was no receptionist to greet us, and we had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to return. Additionally, we had to carry our heavy luggage to the fourth floor without assistance, which was not mentioned during our reservation. The bathroom was incredibly small—so much so that it was impossible for someone overweight to comfortably use. The toilet was positioned in a way that you couldn't close the door without getting stuck inside. To make matters worse, the flush didn't work, forcing us to use a guest toilet on the first floor. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and we won't be staying at this hotel again.

Poor standard Hotel.
Tony's Hotel was very disappointing to us as a family. Firstly we asked for a double bed & two singles, yet we got two doubles, There was zero space for us to even walk around & the so called bathroom was so small it was claustrophobic. The window wouldn't open or shut properly, & was rotting around the panel, We were kept awake all night from the underground noise, again they didn't warn you of this whilst booking, & there was no dining area, your breakfast was brought to you on a tray so we had to sit on our beds & eat it. There was no headboard on the bed, & the pillow was of poor quality also. The overall advertising of this hotel did not in any way portray the reality of what it was really like. So will never go again.

Atrocious experience. Tony’s hotel had a leak, so I was taken to another hotel which was grossly inferior. The window did not lock, the bed linen was stained, there were no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, the shower curtain was held up with rings, there was a dirty rag on the floor, no bedside light.
I did not feel safe in that hotel and there were no vacancies nearby.

DON’T USE THIS PLACE. My plane was delayed and I notified the hotel that I would arrive well after midnight. When I arrived the hotel could not bother to let me in and I was stranded on the street in the middle of the night!

A comfortable stay
The room was clean and comfortable, but a bit small for a double room. The staff were friendly, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before we checked in, and again after we checked out. While a short walk from Paddington Station, we had to carry our bags up four flights of narrow stairs to a very cramped room which was not clean, did not have a running shower, the toilet leaked water on the floor and the TV never worked. We also had to ask staff for clean bedsheet covers and then put them on ourselves.

Room very small but warm enough for the extremely cold weather. An extra heater is available on top of the radiator. Our room was on the first floor and can feel noise when underground trains passed. Reception was helpful but sometimes no one was available.

Read the one star reviews the pictures on the web are lies reserved room for 8 days month ago coming from the states after 12 hour journey was looking forward to a private bath as it stated on web when I got to room had shower and sink in corner of room no toilet was shared 3 floors down from my room with very narrow steps fall risk with my bad back shower in room was open to room no curtains room nasty no tolet paper . Shared bath not clean. Pretty much what it said on the tin: 2-star place to stay near Paddington Station. I needed somewhere to stay for a single night while on layover and this fit the bill; that said, the noise (both of the other residents that night and of the underground rumbling below) was definitely worse than I expected. As far as a roof over my head is concerned, it did the job. However, I didn't sleep much due to the noise, and while the security was acceptable (manual flip lock on the door) I didn't *feel* very secure since my room was on an accessway and the door had no sound insulation, meaning I had voices walking past my door all night, up to 2am.

We were a family of 4 and got the room on the 4th floor with 2 full beds. It was extremely small to the point that we had to walk over our hand luggage to get to small bathroom. Could hardly open bathroom door. The shower was handheld and so it was hard to shower. The beds were extremely rickety. The check in was efficient and service was good but the property needs maintenance. We just booked it as we were desperate and needed to be near Paddington. Location was good. We have stayed at a few of these hotels near the station and for the price I would suggest anywhere else. They may have larger family rooms but the one we had was too tiny to be even remotely comfortable.

Very disappointing. Turned up expecting a double and a single room. Too be told the room wasn’t available then was told we’d have to go to another hotel down the road. If we’d have been told it wasn’t available we’d have found something else ourselves.

When I arrived at 2:15pm to check in nobody was there. Had to wait 15min for someone to arrive to check me in. No sign left to notify when they would be back. Room was as expected, lights in bathroom too dim to properly see anything, mattress either needs replacing or flipped. No support whatsoever on one side.

Shocking service. Allowed themselves to be over booked. Let customers arrive knowing they didn’t have a room for them for weeks. Then try to relocate us wherever they could on the day. Wasn’t the only people they had done this too on the day either.. Never using again.

I got the room for two person. There is a bath but the toilet is outside. This an incovenience but you pay less. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I feel very good to stay there.

According to my previous travel experiences, my opinion is that standard of this acomodation is poor, poorer than it was advertised. I can agree with someone, that I have not previous experiences staying in London or UK, but in last years I was in Nederland and in Paris, France, so I have some cooperative experiences.
Maybe this is standard of this kind of accomodation in London, of such grade.

Avoid at all costs!
Room was like a cupboard situated at the top of 4 very steep fligts of stairs. Shower was clogged with limescale so water hardly came out and could not control temperature making it dangerous. Gave up having a shower in the end! Cubicle was half a door and half a curtain. There was lots of mould everywhere. Window would not stay open so had to wedge it open with a toilet roll. Breakfast consisted of a load of packets of food which was left outside our door and had to be eaten in our room.Bed mattress had a big dip in it but sheets & towels were clean . Good location if you can put up with all the other stuff! Seems they were being greedy trying to cram as many rooms in as possible. We were in room 21 of just a 3 storey house with attic.

The hotel was horrendous in itself - even for a budget hotel. Not clean; not comfortable, but made worse by the rude and even aggressive attitude of the man on duty. Very intimidating for a travelling woman. \"Breakfast\" came in a little basket - door knocked and left outside on the floor. Mostly bread and a Capri Sun pouch. Water system ancient and deficient. Worst of all - the hotel is practically on top of the train tracks at Paddington. Not only can you hear the trains - it feels like they are going down the corridor. The whole room shakes with the noise and vibration. To be avoided at all costs - there are many better budget hotels in London.

Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Arrived late at night due to delay at Heathrow customs. Had 5 hours to sleep before we had to be back at airport. Clerk was outside on telephone, would not assist us until he had finished his conversation. Then told us we had no reservation (we had prepaid in full through hotels.com even though price jumped $22 from initial choice to final payment). I pulled up confirmation. He said he had no rooms and would take us down the street to another hotel owned by the same company. My daughter was nearly in tears from exhaustion. Ultimately, he gave us keys to the room next to the office with window directly on street and blinds that did not go to the edges of the window. Felt extremely unsafe.

Paid for Tony’s, Got the Metro
A difficult review to write as, on arrival at Tony’s House Hotel, and having paid £152 in advance, we were told that our room had a problem and would we mind having another. We agreed. The receptionist then started to move out of the hotel and said that the room was in their sister hotel round the corner. To cut a long story short, the hotel was the ‘Metro’. Three beds were crammed into a room that should have been a single, one jammed lengthwise along a radiator. There was barely room for an overnight bag let alone a suitcase. Passing reception I overheard a woman asking to change rooms as her’s was not suitable and was told she couldn’t as there were no spares. The last thing I heard was the lady telling the man behind the desk that, as there was a ‘Vacancies’ sign on the door, she couldn’t understand his response. As for us, we received no discount on the change despite rooms in the Metro being half the price. Visitors be aware of being asked if you would mind changing rooms from Tony’s House Hotel. Unfortunately the lack of accommodation in the area due to a concert in Hyde Park meant that we had few options.

This is the smallest room I have ever been in, there was not a space for two people to stand in it if you had luggage. There was not space for a chair so there was only possible to sit on the bed or the toilet. The ceiling light had one bulb working, one not and thee 3rd was broken off. It was not possible to keep the window open which was needed as there was no air condition. The is breakfast included but you can only have it to you room and need to place it on the waste basket. The room was on 4th floor, narrow stairs, 79 steps to go up with your luggage. Would never go there again and don't recommend it all.

Booked 2 rooms and thought both would be in the same hotel but they had overbooked and we ended up with 1 room in this Building and the second room in a different hotel half a mile away. But there was a sign advertising vacancies on the door all week!

Rating misgiving because I never stayed. On arrival told no room wit bath but I had been booked in to a nearby sister hotel. Arriving there I found unsafe conditions, a room that gave new meaning to small, paint and smoke smell, ambulance noise, and many steps. For those of you who read this far it is called Metro Hotel in Craven Street. Plus: nice young men trying to staff the place, wonderful towels, OK shower and near Paddington Station

This is a 2-star hotel which was just as excpected. Not too fancy, but nice and situated in Paddington, which is very central with Paddington Station. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We had a family room downstairs with proper beds to all five of us. Breakfast was served in our room. All in all we would probably stay here again.

Worst Hotel experience of our life
We were greeted with \"you're on the 4th floor, sorry\" which really meant \"there is no elevator and you'll have to carry your luggage up the 80 steps of the building\". The room was two double beds crammed in a 6' x 14' space, leaving barely enough room for the door to open. Worst of all it was directly under the roof of the building getting baked all day with no air conditioning. A toy fan was the only means of getting the air inside the room moving. Needless to say it was impossible to sleep due to the scorching heat in the room all night. The bathroom was a marvel in engineering fitting toilet, sink and shower in an incredible 2' x 5' space. The cheapest room in any cruise ship has more spacious bathrooms than this one. The lack of ventilation keeps the bathroom moist all day making it the ideal living space for black mold in any crevasse and corner of the shower. Plain disgusting and a public health inspection should shut this place down when they visit... if they can make it up the steps to the 4th floor! The hotel must have been renovated not long ago. In reality the renovation only included laminate flooring and gallons of paint which can't really hide the decrepitude of the building. Cleanliness was poor overall. Breakfast is delivered to the room because the place doesn't have any common areas and includes a couple of bread rolls, string cheese, jelly and a Capri-sun pouch. There is a coffee maker but we didn't dare use it due to something growing inside it.

Very budget budget lodge (I do not call it as a hotel). very narrow staircase (not at all safe above 2nd floor). Toilet is smallest ever. Beds were nicely arranged in a very small room. Location is very close to Paddington station. Many restaurants closeby. May be ok for a single to stay for a night. Hotels next door looks spacious from outside. Room was suffocating when the temperature outside was 18C.

Quality of service by recepcionist was very good. The underground is near so you can hear it but it didn't disturb us. If they would renovate the room and specialy a shower and if the windows would have been cleand the hotel would be the best. We will come back.

I travel extensively around the UK on business. This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to book, and I left after 2 hours. The welcome was hostile, I was asked quite abruptly \"how did you get in\"? The reception desk was in a cupboard and the person manning it made no attempt to introduce himself or welcome me. I was told breakfast would be served in my room as there didn't appear to be any dining area. The room was filthy dirty with old drinks bottles on the floor and litter on the outside window ledge. The toilet hadn't been cleaned and there was no plug in the sink. The floor was laminate and was dirty with sections missing. The beds were filthy but the bed linen was clean. The ambiance of the hotel felt quit threatening with people using adjoining rooms for very short periods. Carpets and paintwork in communal areas were dirty and the entire interior of the building needs redecorating. I felt so unsafe I left after 2 hours and found an alternative hotel. Had I not been able to find another hotel I would have slept on the concourse at Paddington Station. Avoid at all cost.

We were disappointed with Tony's house. I called in advance to verify the type of room reserved which turned out to be different from what was told. Despite this, the staff, Dean, was trying to help but the room condition requires significant improvement. The window can not be opened; the shower does not drain; and the mattress is very soft. When people walks on the floor, it makes lots of noise. BTW, the breakfast is cold compared with another hotel where we stayed in the neighborhood preivously which offers hot breakfast.

People need to calm down. The reviews of this hotel are waaaay too harsh! We went for two nights, yes it was a small room, yes there was no lift and yes the breakfast was very sugary BUT what are people actually expecting for a cheap hotel in a great location? Staff were nice although we were late for check-in, they delivered the breakfast to the room (any excuse not to leave my room before 10am + as there was no breakfast room they could as easily have offered nothing) and we had our own bathroom! What more can you ask? If you're planning to spend your holiday in a luxurious, big room, don't go here, but if you want value for money, so you can spend it elsewhere, this is the hotel for you. You are after all in London, you might want to go out there and enjoy it! And again, if you want the Hilton hotel, you can as easily go around the corner and pay for it! This was a perfectly nice stay, at a nice location, at a nice price.
