We stayed for 10 days. The room was a decent size room with a balcony. Cleaning was as per requested. There were no vending machines and the hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays, however, you can buy a handful of snacks from the front counter and there are restaurants walking distance away for dinners on Sunday night. There was no air conditioning, fans or vents in the room or the bathroom, which I discovered is normal for Germany. We hit a heat wave during our stay. We had to keep the balcony door open, however there were no screen doors on the balcony, so lots of moths, mosquitos and a fly flew in the room. Apart from lack of air circulation, the hotel was decent, the staff was friendly and it was a convenient location.

The reception was not so welcoming. The room was fine but very outdated.
The breakfast was very poor, they did not have a welcoming attitude at all, the variety was very low.
Most dishes were finished and no one refilled them.
We reserved for sauna and pool but they were closed.

Nice staff but a little tired and in need of a bit of love and care. Small blankets and a heater that didn’t work well made sleep difficult. But staff were great.

One of nicest Mercure in Germany!!

I was on a Business trip in Germany and I usually try NOT to go for a Hotel chain to support the local economy. However after suffering a bad experience with a small hotel the night before I thought why not go for the Mercure in Luedenscheid!

AND WOW, I made the right choice here. The hotel was recently refurbished and all looks brand new.

Staff were VERY VERY friendly.

I've been to many Mercure hotels but this one stands out as my favourite by a country mile.

Restaurant was clean, staff were friendly there too and the food was tasty, fresh! Had loads of option for breakfast too.

One day stay

We have stay in hotel after long drive trough Europe and we have enjoy it.The rooms are spacious and beds conformable. The newly refurbished swimming pool in top floor is perfect for kids to play, spa and sauna to relax.

First Class Customer Service - Mercure Ludenscheid

Stayed 12 nights with my wife. Had a great trip despite the weather. The Hotel was excellent, all the staff were really helpful, offering the best tips for local visits and responding to every question with positivity. Excellent buffet breakfast each day, with wonderful staff to help us and welcome us to breakfast each morning. Made full use of the Sauna and Swimming Pool. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would certainly have no problems recommending this hotel. Thank you Mercure Ludenscheid for a wonderful stay.

Hotel did not advise us of renovation work going on the floor below us. On two mornings out of three we were woken up shortly after 08.00 by the sound of heavy drills. Hotel offered no alternative room or compensation.

Hotel is located just a few minutes drive from the highway. We got the suite and were pleasantly shocked by the size of the room. The bedroom was very spacious as was the bathroom there was a second bathroom in the entry hall with a toilet and shower. The second room had two love seats. One love seat converted into a very comfortable bed. Not the usual fold out bed where you always feel the metal bars. Instead there is a pullout mattress integrated into the seat. As a bonus there is a huge pool on the upper floor. Most hotel pools seem like over-zed hot tubs. This was a proper 25 meter long pool. Everything was clean. We arrived earlier than planned. I asked about getting access to the room. The room was not ready yet (2 pm) staff whipped into action and got the room ready in about 20 minutes. Breakfast was also very satisfying.

Very friendly staff, great for business travel.

I arrived after a long day travelling and found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. I was too tired to use the leisure facilities but I had a drink in the bar and dinner in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food very good. I enjoyed staying here and the wifi and free parking make it a great business travel base for the area.

This is the best hotel in town. Even though is not the best I have stayed at, it is good. One good thing is that is located on a quite area and 10 minutes walking distance from downtown.

Very good hotel

I stayed at this hotel recently and I would highly recommend it to other people who like high standard hotels in a beautiful and quiet area.The suite room was very spacious and beautifully furnished.The swimming pool at the 11th floor was impressing with an amazing view of the mountains.The staff were very helpful and friendly.There is a nice footpath near the hotel sorrounded by the forest.In my opinion this should be a 5 star not 4 star property.

Excellent Hotel in Ludenscheid Germany

This is an excellent place to stay in Ludenscheid Germany. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and speaks excellent English. The WiFi is free and fast. The onsite restaurant is good, and the breakfast is also good and reasonably priced. The property is located adjacent to a nice park with ample area to walk for exercise. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from the hotel to downtown Ludenscheid. This is my preferred hotel for visits to the Ludenscheid area.

Quiet comfortable hotel in need of repair

This property is showing signs of age and rooms need more lighting (it seems this is a problem at all hotels these days). Breakfast is ample and the three choices of eggs is very nice. Bread selection at Breakfast can vary from poor to good. Fresh fruit selection is good, but cut fruit is average. In general the food quality is average and demonstrates the focus on quantity vs quality that seems to satisfy the majority of tastes in this region. The restaurant provides average quality food at inflated prices, even if a starter and main course are shared between 2 persons, which I always do.

Superb breakfast

We had not stayed in a Mercure hotel before, but certainly will again if the buffet breakfast is anything to go by. There was every sort of bakery product, cheese, meat, preserve, fruit and cereal that anyone could desire. The pool is lovely, the rooms well appointed, and its position in the town is perfect.

Very relaxing!!

It is a good business and on the road hotel, they have a small forest walk for excersice, this could not be beat bye any gym!! Food and drinks are excellent as well. Wonderful staff in all areas of the hotel, it is my second time in this hotel, was here in 2009 and this time it was much better.

Da Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das schlimmste war aber dass es im Zimmer 27 Grad warm war und keine Klimaanlage vorhanden war. Das Zimmer an sich war jedoch ganz gut, großes und bequemes Bett. Das Frühstück war absolut ausreichend.

Das Notwendige war sauber und gut: Matratze, Bettwäsche, Waschbecken, Dusche.
Einen Druckspüler aus alten Zeiten hat man hinter einer Drückerplatte versteckt, die Druckspüler aus den Nachbarzimmern konnte man ebenso gut hören.
Duschen hat einer Kneipkur geähnelt: häufiger Wechsel zwischen warm und kalt.
Türgriff zun Balkon fällt gleich ab (ausgenudelt und lose), der Vorhang verschmutzt und gerissen, Balkontür~ und fenster schon länger nicht mehr gesäubert worden. Etc.
Kann alles im einzelnen mal vorkommen. Das Gesamtbild jedoch zeigt, daß das Zimmer abgewohnt ist, nur minimalst gewartet und dafür noch maximales Geld rausgeholt wird.

Also das dieses hotel so gut bewertet wird ist mir eine frage. 4 Sterne für was?Keine Klima im Zimmer bei 30 grad sehr unangenehm.Keine Minibar Getränke waren extrem warm. Mini Ventilator bekommen der nichts gebracht hat. Fenster so dreckig die wurden schon Monate nicht mehr geputzt. Bett uralt verbraucht und abgenutzt. Balkon wie bei einer Platzenbau Siedlung. Alt schmutzig nicht schön. Ausblick auf die Belüftungsanlage des Hotels die sehr laut waren. Fazit nie wieder dieses Hotel.

Als \"Notunterkunft\" ist es OK.

Älteres Gebäude, wodurch Geräusche auf dem Hotelflur und generell der Verkehrslärm zu hören sind.

Einrichtung im Zimmer hat schon paar Jahre hinter sich. Dichtungen an den Türen sollten mal erneuert werden

Hotel war gut besucht, viele Leute beim Frühstück und auch größere Gruppen. Das Essen war nicht qualitativ gut. Brötchen gibts bei Lidl um die Ecke bessere, Eierspeisen sahen auch nicht besser aus und das für einen zu hohen Preis. Leider gab es nicht viel Auswahl an anderen Hotels zu dieser Zeit aber als \"Notunterkunft\" ok.

Wohlfühl Hotel am Stadtpark

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer ausgezeichneten Lage direkt am Stadtpark und gleichzeitig in Stadtnähe. Bushaltestelle in unmittelbarer Nähe. Großer Parkplatz vorhanden, den die Stadt aber mal optimieren könnte. Die Toilettenspülung ist etwas laut. Das Hotel punktet mit einem Wellness Bereich und einem tollen Restaurant, sollte man unter der Woche unbedingt besuchen um die regionale Spezialität \"Krüstchen\" zu probieren, denn leider hat es am Wochenende geschlossen. Fußläufig ist dann aber ein gutes Steakhaus am Stadtpark erreichbar. Oder eben die Stadt kulinarisch erkunden. Wohlfühlen fällt dort nicht schwer.
