A very nice stay in Biel. The room was clean and comfortable. They provided extra towels and coffee pods on request and the staff were very helpful. The only small issue was the sauna was not working properly as there was low heat but otherwise the stay was very good.

This was by far the most disappointing experience. We got to the hotel & just left our bags & immediately left to see the city. When we got back we had the time to check on the conditions of the room & noticed that it was dirty. Found some hair on the bathtub and pillows, the floor was sticky. We know this things can happen & thats why we approached the lady on the front desk. She offered to change rooms but told us they would make a downgrade bc they didnt have any rooms like the one we paid for available. We agreed to it but also asked about the fee difference between the rooms & they told us not to worry about it, that they’d find a solution. After the 3 nights, at checkout time we asked about it again. They brought the very unprofessional rude manager to tell us that they wouldn’t be refunding the fee difference because our new room was a “complete mess”. We are delicate & careful people & don’t like leaving our stuff all over the room, so we always leave our stuff well packed and locked. We let them know this couldnt be our case. Even if it was, it is their job to clean the room bc they charge you a fee for that & has nothing to do with receiving as a new guest a clean room. We also let him know about this. And this is when he started talking to us in an aggressive way, telling us to “not behave like animals” referring to how we were complaining & demanding an actual solution. Also called us “sensitive people from Spain” when we’re not even Spanish. FULL REVIEW ON GOOGLE

The Hotel has no room service. The cleaning lady entered in my room without knocking.
The restaurant does not open every day.
The breakfast is not on self-service mode.
They tried to charge parking fees on me. I had no car. They tried to make me pay the entire fee twice (check-in and check-out) and it was already paid.
Quality of the air inside the room is horrible, creating lot of caugh.
It is definitely not a 4 stars.

Room service claimed it was 24 hrs and it was not. The food was also a tv dinner that was warmed in the microwave for 8 mins i know because it said it on the box. Tv dinner was 15 dollars . Also they cut all current/light at 12am the first night I was there. Breakfast was below aaverage. Besides this staff was really nice.

Avoid this hotel!

The service is absolutely awful. The first night I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up at the reception for my check-in. By the time I made it to the room, the kitchen was closed and I could not get some warm food after my long trip! They try to rip you off and charge you for the car park whether you leave your car there for an hour or the whole night, it's the same price. The person who told me that is the most unpleasant man I have ever met in my life! The customer service is awful, they won't do much to make it an enjoyable stay. There was a weird smell in the corridor, and the room was not very clean either. I will never ever go back to that hotel!

At first I was offered a room in which the bed was located against a wall - other side of which had the staff lift/lift door. I would have not had any sleep if the staff had started using it. When this was declined another room was offered. I was surprised to see this room being used as a mini suite!

Overall we had great stays in Mercure Biel. Breakfast was great, good spread of bread and pastries. They even have hot chocolate. Location wise also very convenient, less than 10 min walk to main station. 5 min walk to alstatd and supermarket and shopping streets around the corner.

Its all about customer service, and the staff at the Mercure Plaza in Biel know this perfectly.
We arrived late to be confronted with at first no reservation being found in our name, and then being told they didnt have the room type we booked.
Apologies followed with a clear statement that they would find a way to make it right, which they did within 30mins phoning us all was as reserved and booked.

I needed to stay in a hotel in Biel/Bienne for work purposes, and anyone who has stayed in Biel will know that the choice of hotels is limited. Ideally I wanted somewhere with gym/fitness facilities, and some healthy eating options. I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. They describe their gym facilities as 'small' which is accurate, and enough for my needs and there are some healthy choices on the menu. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I had a hassle free stay.

Only the catering was below expectations.

Hotel clean and comfortable, as one might expect, no complaints on that front. No resturant service on a Saturday evening, there was limited selection of snacks available in the bar. We eat out. Breakfast in the morning was a challange as we fought off two coach parties (Russian and Korean) decending on the buffet breakfast. No shortage of food, just difficult to get close to it, unless you left your manners at the door. No problem for the worldly wise :).

The hotel is well located right in downtown Biel. The building needs to be refurbished but the bed was comfortable and everithing was clean. Breakfast was CHF 20 and althaugh at 9am the dining room was empty I could not find a tables new set.Overal ok for a short stay.

The hotel itself was fine but I ate with a group of colleagues in the Restaurant and the service was very slow, frankly I think they weren’t up to the job of serving more than a handful which was pity as the food was OK when it arrived (after about 2 hours).

Very nice hotel. Good value especially for Switzerland. Would stay here again. The only negative is Biel is pretty boring to visit. Recommend staying in Neuchatel if you have to be in the area. I was here for business and had rental car.

This was a good hotel. I'd stay there again. We (Americans) were able to get from the train station (gare) to the hotel via the bus system. The bus comes within a block of the hotel, which is an easy bag drag. Nice clean room, and our room had a balcony.

The staff was great and helpful, too.

The only down thing was the shower head clamp would not stay up. So, the shower head was about my waist, and when I needed it higher than that, I had to hold it.

Other than that, this is just the type of hotel my wife and I look for when we are traveling. A nice, clean place to stay with comfortable beds and a water pot so we can make coffee or tea.

Nice hotel with free wi fi and mini bar

The highlights of this hotel were the free minibar and wi fi. The mini bar was stocked each day with 2 waters, a coke and an orange juice. The wi fi was free only in the lobby or bar but this was fine with us and much better than most of the rest of Europe.
The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the cozy neighborhood.
cons:
no air conditioning just a fan and our room was on the side by a busy street. The shower also had no door.
However we had a good stay and would use this hotel again.

Hidden charges, no smoking

There are charges per day for using the hotel parking, though this was not stated to us when we checked in. Room service also comes with a surcharge on top of the price listed in the room service menu. We booked a smoking room but were informed at check-in that it is against the law to smoke in hotel rooms in Switzerland, hence the low rating for \"Comfort of your room\".

A great hotel in Biel/Bienne

We spent four nights at the Mercure while doing a performance in Biel. We were surprised at the quality of this hotel, given it's not a tourist destination. Very clean, comfortable, large rooms, good location for this city. Our first room on the street side was quite noisy, but staff gladly moved us to the very quiet side facing some buildings and a lovely rooftop meadow. Terrific sauna and fitness room. A very nice experience and excellent value.

Hôtel à 2 pas de la vieille ville et pas trop loin (une petite dizaine de min) à pieds de la gare. Ça rallonge le trajet pour le lac mais ça reste jouable en un gros 1/4h. Chambre propre et moderne, élégante. Le non-remplissage du gel douche était toutefois étonnant pour un hôtel de ce standing. Mention spéciale au buffet du pdj, très complet et quali.

Nach Beschwerde wurde schnell und gut nachgereinigt.

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen und vieles ist gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Die Strasse ist im Zimmer allerdings gut zu hören.

Das Hotel liegt nahe der Altstadt. Auch die Einkaufsstrassen sind zu Fuss gut erreichbar. Das Zimmer war geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit sehr bequemen Betten. Es gab einen Wasserkocher, um sich Kaffee oder Tee zu zubereiten. Das Badezimmer hatte ein Doppellavabo, genügend Licht und Steckdosen. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot uns alles, was wir erwartet haben. Die Mitarbeiter waren mehrsprachig und freundlich. Der einzige Minuspunkt ist die sehr enge Tiefgarage. Ich glaube nicht, dass man dort mit jedem Auto problemlos parkieren kann. Wir hatten zum Glück einen Kleinwagen dabei.
Davon abgesehen hat es uns im Mercure sehr gut gefallen.

Keine Parkplätze im Hotel. Sie hätten nur 15 für 100 Zimmer, wir sollen selber suchen wo es freie gibt....
3x wurde unser Zimmerschlüssel neu programmiert, hat aber nie funktioniert...., wir mussten dann das Zimmer wechseln..
Die Sauna hat auch nicht funktioniert und es waren trotz Nachfrage keine Tücher vorhanden.
